@Vietfox said: @Master Basically you just need to have the area around the 3 gens trapped, commit to the chase, end it quickly thanks to well placed traps, hook and go back to the gen to kick it while placing traps on the way back (or after kicking the gen if it was close to be finished). If you run PGTW it's even better. But what do you do if the survivors set traps off for each other? You cant commit to a chase then or you will lose the 3-gen strat.
That's why you gotta set 3 or 4 traps at "random" places where they don't expect them but easy to make a survivor to run over them.
The survivors are right next to you when you do a 3 gen strat, there is nothing like "hidden random places"

Well, the point is to trap the area when they are not there to see you doing it lol. They might see you trapping the area again later on, but situation will be under control most probably at that point.
An even if we assume they are a god tier swf group then i'll be happy with one kill, can't get 3 or 4 K every time
People with skills need to be rewarded.Ahh so were talking about 1 kill now. Yeah thats what I usually manage too when I play against some of those SWF. Fine that we came to a conclusion

Games won't take 5 minutes if you leave the hook to keep the map pressure, simple as that. Any true rank 1 killer would know that. Btw, a complete sacrifice takes 2 minutes, not 3. You do know, that i win my most games because survivors are not doing gens right? they're looking for my hex ruin or they simply do not do gens, and how does one keep map pressure if 4 gens are all 50m away from each other? If they don't do gens how come you are complaining about 5 minutes matches? Doesn't make any sense.
"how does one keep map pressure if 4 gens are all 50m away from each other?" Certainly not by camping. Also you can keep track of the gens which were started and check them after hooking someone, use the 3 gens strat, etc.. 3 Gen strat is useless, just a waste of time for both sides. If as a killer you are forced into a 3 gen strat, you already lost the game, unless there are only 2 or less survivors remaining. if there is only 2 players left, then its about skill, if the killer is able to chase 1 of them down and hook him before the other completes a gen, then killer probably wins, if not then killer probably loses(if you call 2 kill 2 escape a lose). If more than 2 survivors are still alive: Killer wont commit to chases too far away from those 3 gens, so survivors can just back away and heal if injured, then split between the 2 gens that have the most distance between each other, killer cant be on both places at the same time, so 1 gen will be eventually done even if you patrol between those 2. And if he does commit to chase 1 survivor, then the others can just focus on 1 gen and finish it in no time. Do not suggest 3 gens strat please, because it is bad unless you have already killed half of their team. @inkedsoulz
I'm not saying always use the 3 gens strat, killers are suposed to know when to use it. There is NO when to use it, because its a waste of time, killer either commits to chase, or game might go on until 1 side gets bored.
My hag disagrees. I've gotten with her 4K lots of times thanks to that, and not always because survivors were boosted.
Especially as hag you have trouble against SWF. Ive played against a hag trying to do that too with a friend of mine and we managed to complete a gen too. You simply set off the trap when she runs away, either she comes back to you and chases you with 110% or she ignores you and checks the next gen. Either you can continue repairing or your friend can. It really isnt difficult against a hag. Only against nurse/billy it can become dangerous
@Master
That's because that hag didn't know how or when to do it.
I never dodge so i've faced several swf. Then explain, what is she supposed to do.
I am curious because I play hag too.

Is this the place to ask for a multiple uses DS buff?
I think DS should have 3 Tokens. Every use it adds 1 extra second to the stun. Also, you only need to push the action button. Also if you are not the obsession, then you have to struggle for 10%, but still have 3 tokens.
Don't want it to be to strong now do we

Exactly. Otherwise they'll call it OP.
A included sprint burst once the gates are powered, would round the thing up.Yeah but the non-obsession version would have a sprintburst reduced by 1 sec. The sprint burst happens once anyway, so its still balanced

then try not to end the chase near these locations or dribble them away from the pallet/window near a hook, some good survivors will keep ds till they are on death hook and being picked up, or at an exit

I always talked about these when he was released but people never listened. Almost everyone wanted to make his power work with insta downs like NOED, MYC, DH and such, but I knew It was gonna be broken... Now you see why thats a problem?Even tho those perks dont work on him now, he is broken with these new buff. It wont matter if you are injured or not, Legion just has to equip Monitor & Abuse (downs his TR from 24 to 16m) hit you with normal M1 cuz you wont be able to react cuz there wont be any Heartbeat and he'll get first M1 hit for free. Now the killer has the survivor injured and It just takes 2 feral frenzy states to down them, only 1 if he's using Franks Mixtape... With a power that takes no skill to use... He can rely on the "break chase mechanic" as well...
I hope the PTB has shown you how broken these is now.
I said It back then and I'll say It again and again... His power should NOT be lethal, at least 5-6 hits. Buff his base movement speed to 115% or reduce the stun time if you cancel the power manually.
That's balance. With these changes I suggested, Legion would still use his power for crowd control, but thats It. He should rely on mind games and he'd take skill to use, like any other killer.
How can you have an opinion already? adapt to the new killers and learn how to play against them. You cant cry after such a short time that sth is too OP/UP.

It's just extremely survivor sided and has been for 3 years now.
The killer needs to have the ability to shut it... like they tested in the PTB. I don't know why they didn't go through with that.
Because once that happens, the survivor has the power generators in a 1v1 against the killer, which is just not possible. You can patrol the entire map in well under 80 seconds, and the second the killer hears a generator progressing they'll know you're there. So what ended up happening was the hide and seek world championships with no end in sight.
You mean the hide and seek championships that happens when gates are open and survivors feel like trolling a bit? Yeah that SHOULD be prevented

As we all know The exhaustion status effect was buffed months ago, therefore disallowing multiple uses of exhaustion perks within a chase (fair change, that i can agree with wholeheartedly) however. the huntress's addon's (Venom) which add the exhaustion effects to the player, act like current build exhaustion rather then the exhaustion they were based around initially. This means a huntress, needs only hit you with a hatchet with a common addon (brown) to completely negate your dead hard, your lithe, your balanced landing/sprintburst! I'd say for a common addon to pretty much completely negate meta perks is pretty op don't you think? A huntress isin't likely to break chase enough away from their prey for them to regain exhaustion to use there abilities, so my point stands that maybe The huntresses addons (specifically and only the venom ones) need tweaking. i feel the exhaustion debuff they gave before was fine. it worked for 30s to a minute in the chase, and if the player didn't capitalize on that time, whoops there's a dead hard etc. i feel we should revert the change (only for her addons) or possibly change its effect? maybe make it so there's no "sprint burst" upon being hit with the hatchet or etc. Because being able to negate meta perks with one common addon seems a lil op to me. (I play tons of huntress and i've been on the receiving end of this. its not fun. That being said, if you get hit with a hatchet you deserve to be affected by whatever addons she has. i just think they need tweaking at the momentDo you want every perk to have no counter like DS?

Some survivors really wanna see the game burn....
By the way, the devs said that not every killer is meant to be viable at high rank (A philosophy I disagree with btw), but that doesnt mean that there should be no viable killers at all

I hope they find a way to make them less toxic and respectful. They tbagg you because they feel the power they have over their bullying target, knowing that the game isnt balanced around SWF.
They get angry if you kill them because they know that the game isnt balanced around SWF and it hurts even more when you lose having such an advantage.

@BigBlackMori said:
Thanks for acknowledging that blaming your opponents and teammates won't make you better. A few things to keep in mind:- Killers respond to their opponents' playstyle. If i see people getting unhooked the moment i walk away, i pitch a tent and patrol hard. If i see people running to the hook with BBQ or Bitter Murmur (or bbq shows me nobody) then I assume they're coming for the save and don't leave.
- Obsession. Many obsession perks mark you as a priority target; if i run Dying Light or Remember Me and you are the Obsession, you're getting tunneled, period. Dstrike is a lovely perk, but its power can come with a major downside and some Killers (Like me) make it a point to either tunnel or entirely ignore suspected DS users as the situation warrants.
- Annoyance. The more you annoy the Killer, the more they will want to kill you, sometimes even at the cost of victory. The nail that sticks out gets hammered. Do not make yourself a target. Do not spam a flashlight macro. Do not teabag. Play like you are a helpless and terrified victim up against an invincible killing machine, and remember: The Killer you pissed off this game will see you again, and he will remember what you did. By not being a jerk now, you save yourself a lot of pain later.
- Do gens. You've already been focusing on this, but it behooves you to get two gens done and then lay low; keep working on objectives, but when things go south - find the hatch.
- Sandbag. Survivors are not a team. They are four individuals with the same goal which sometimes overlaps. Treat the other survivors like tools (because they probably are) and use them until they are no longer useful, then discard them when they are of no further use to you. Surviving is winning.
Pretty precise

Doesnt change the fact that DS is a free escape. If a killer could wait for the endgame to deal with DS, then they could use rancor too, but they cant

If you hook them inside of the gate, they are there. If they try to go for an unhook just do an interrupt and grab them. It would take a congo line of three other people to effectively deny you the hook.
1) Slug DS user
2) Check around gate for survivors
3) Hook DS user inside gate
4) Grab person going for unhook/hit them once
5) Either DS user remains on hook, or you have another slugged survivor or one on your shoulderIts really easy to pull of an unhook with the new unhook mechanic and the invulnerability.
And as I said, you cant ignore the obession for the whole match. If you wanted to do that you could use rancor too which is a lot mroe effective. And dont forget that there are also non-obsession DS -

Essentially, there are several killers I've been running into lately (can't post their names, but I've reported them) who never run aura perks, but they always b-line for survivors. They generally can make every match end before a single gen can be done, and there's simply no hiding from them. You don't even have to be at a gen, but hiding behind some random rock across the map from where a survivor got hooked, and they run straight to you.I've noticed a lot of Hillbilly and Nurse players being the ones who seem to show this extremely sketchy behavior, mainly beacuse they can travel cross map the fastest. One survivor I was with saw a guy get knocked down, so he hid in a locker. Other guy gets hooked, killer comes halfway across the map and doesn't even search, just pulls him out, and with the guy on his shoulder, comes to my hiding spot and smacks me.... we weren't near a gen.
Does anyone else run into this?
Usually billy and nurses are the most experienced killers.
With a lot of experience you know the spawn points of survivors which helps a lot in the early game.Without footage hard to judge anyway

Great skill checks give 2% to repair progres wich ecuals 1.6 seconds if you have default repair speedobout 110 - 120 seconds repair time... then gens would be impossible. killer would just not care obout gens and be able to camp camp and camp, and still be sure that 3 gens will not pop up, but maybe 1 or 2. then onother survivor camp - 1 gen done. and from that moment you can even not care obout gens completly.
Camping takes 2 minutes, so the survivors can indeed do 3 gens in that time

Can devs realise that gens are done way too quickly and so they need to put in another objective or extend the gen repair time. 80s for one, 40 something seconds when 2 are on a gen. it's done too quickly thus so many gen rushing 5min games. And then survivors cry when they gen rushed you and you kill 1 or 2 with NOED. Give gens 110-120s repair time, so it actually encourages the teamwork and that 3 gens don't pop when u finally HIT (read hit not even down) a survivor. Great skill checks give you extremley big boost to getting gen done. it's absurd. Please just check the gen time, put it in ptb and we'll see if it's actually better or not. They are aware of the unbalance problems. Thats what they said after the depip squad experiment.

Seems like you use facecamping in the terminology "hard camping". Thats fine, but you should know that facecamping used to be the terminology that the killer moves himself in the hitbox of the hooked survivor and thus disables all other survivors from getting an unhook attemp, just to avoid confusion......> A killer comitting to "facecamping" surenders the game, the remaining 3 survivors can simply knock out all gens and leave the game. If you dont wanna do that and throw yourself against the camping killer, then thats your decision

Regarding your suggestion:
First of all, define "near a hooked survivor".
Second of all the chsae detection is completely broken and is thus a really bad condition for such a mechanic. For example at the tree loop in the corn, you lose chase over and over again even though you are running after a survivor within a few meters. You say genrush isnt a thing, just a survivor doing his objective, but isnt a camping killer doing his objective too? :sarcastic: /s
I already covered why "simply knocking out all the gens" isn't realistic.
Here:** It upsets me everyone assumes you're playing with friends and they can tell you the killer is face camping them. When you're playing alone (and this is a team based game for survivors, none of this 'oh why did you even check' BS) you're going to waste a lot of time running up (from wherever you were at) and seeing the killer is refusing to let a person go. It's cheap, boring, unfair, and mind boggling this issue has not been fixed. **
Ive heard all the excuses how face camping can be countered and this isn't one of them.
My definition of 'near a hooked survivor' is within a terror radius or if the survivor is in line of sight. I originally added to my idea that if the killer is chasing someone, then the survivors life depletes as normal. Even if this mechanic is 'broken' it is still in favor of the killer, so it'd be harder for survivors to abuse. I'll explain:
if the killer is in chase mode, the bar depletes as normal. So if the killer loses sight of someone he is chasing (but is still in chase mode) while he's around a person that's hooked, that person can still go into phase 2 and die as normal.
This is better than nothing.
First of all, SWF is part of the game. For some weird reason the majority of the community is against the idea of having ingame voice comms (They are scared that the game gets balanced aruond voice comms I assume), but fact is taht SWF is part of almost every game nowadays.
And even if you are playing alone, there are multiple ways to identify facecamping. You can pay attenion to the killer movement, use eyes and ears or the survivor on the hook can wave arms etc.
And if you really want to batlle facecamping by unhooking, then you can still run BT for example which just received a huge buff.
So according your definition, its impossible for the doc to kill survivor since his terror radius is really huge and thus will always trigger your suggestion. ALso "line of sight" is not a mechanic implemented in the game.
Ehm what? Its NOT in the killers faviour since according to your suggestion the hook progress will be stopped if the killer is not in a chase.

Sure its not fun, but its actually pretty easy to executeYou can't counter 'm in a chase unless the Legion is actually bad at the game. His frenzy hitbox is huge, and there is no attack cooldown.
This is especially bad when the Legion is using Frank's Mixtape and/or stab wounds study while moonwalk chasing the survivor. You can't counter that. It is unfun to go against because you can't do anything.I know, the tactic is just to prolong the chase to give your team enough time for gens.

I have played Dead by Daylight for 3 months now. Killers seem to have an advantage over the survivors. First thing is the killers get a 7 to 10 thousand blood point bonus while the survivor only gets an average of 15 to 20 thousand blood points per match. Second the killers seem to be able to hit the survivor through a window when they fast vaulted and are 5 feet away. Third there are lag switchers on console that need to be found and removed from the game, I have encountered this issue more than 10 times. Final issue is the killers hit boxes are ridiculously huge, when a survivor is to the right of a killer and they swing left they magically cause damage, also there isn't a game where I do not see this issue. I simply tried to talk to DBD representatives, but they tell me to put my words on these discussions, and now I am hoping there is a big fix.Did you even read what you wrote?

I see a lot of people saying that surviving should be "tough". I don't mind dying as long as I get a decent amount of points. Usually the killer gets the most points (unless they're brain dead) and that's fine and all cause they're in the game longer. But sometimes even after escaping I feel like I'm barely getting anything even thought I feel like I was all over the place, and the only time I feel like I can get a decent amount of bloodpoints is if I use "we're gonna farm forever" with no other benefit other than getting extra points. Unlike BBQ which gives you more points AND shows you survivor auras when you hook someone.
If you get tunneled or camped that's barely any points, most of the time you die with 15k points while the killer has 25k - 30k and then BBQ on top.
Can't survivors get more points for little things? Cleansing totems, self healing or healing others etc?
Killers are addon dependent, survivors not
Killers lose addons every game, survivor keep items after escaping
Survivors can obtain items ingame -

Just that the legion is anything besides being op

Not wrong.
The Unfun part, and no actual counter part especially stand out though

Just genrush

Decisive strike is balanced by the fact that it can only be used once per game.Only this fact, and the fact that there is a hook per square meter in that game, makes the DS balanced. I do not understand why the main killer cries so much for this perk. And you can still put the survivor on the floor, to '' bug '' DS.
If the DS changes, I want you to nerf Noed too, removing the killer's additional speed. This is tense, you try the whole match for the final killer who did nothing in the match get extremely fast and bring down on a hit.
So noed and DS is balanced and have counter. Don't need changes. They are two perks that benefit enough killer and survivor
How do you counter DS? Just curious...... asking for a bad killer friend
there are perks that can counter it like enduring, all obsession perks, or you could just dribble
Enduring doesnt counter it, the survivors still gets a free escape and can continue to loop you. How is an obession perk (I assume killer perk?) a counter to DS?
Also dribbling just prolongs the inevitable -

when killer insta DC at game start, we lose PIP and offering (screenshots), we shouldn't this is BS
people bring their low rank friends in games, lobby should not accept starting a game with a high difference in rank. We have a 'ranking' system in place, which at least could sort inexperienced people from highly experienced people. When a rank 2 player invites his rank 19 friends in a game, I don't know the magic behind but they'll come to my game (rank 10), the match making is then [BAD WORD] for everyone, killer AND players. Killer because the experienced player will ######### on him easily the whole game, and players because the low rank friends will do the most stupid things all the time, when they'll not simply do nothing hiding in a corner or all kind of idiotic things like that. I think the maximum difference in rank should be 5 ranks max from one end to the other in the lobby. Or else simply remove ranks altogether and just say we don't care about balance, fun, or anything at all for the game. I actually think in this case the higher rank of SWF should be used for matchmaking. It would at least prevent the 'exploit' for higher rank players to play in low rank lobbies and ruin the killer and survivor experience.
OR one good idea would be to have two systems, a SWF mode, and a solo mode, then killer can have option to refuse SWF in matchmaking games. That would help lot of 'balance issues' regarding communication being way too helpful (I admit I sometimes play with friend and abuse that on TeamSpeak), and removing the fear of not knowing everything that is happening on the map.deranking. too much people derank on purpose and this is the same as having a SWF rank 2 + rank19, it breaks the ranked match making and eventually kills the fun on both sides. You anti deranking system does not work at all. I also see way too much streamers deranking on purpose, live, like it's OK no problem...
The lost pip is just a visual bug that is part of the game for years now. Yes you lose offerings when the killer DCs.
The killer even loses his addons btw and he only gets compensated 2,5k BP for 4 DCs together.By the way, your screenshots show that you didnt lose your pip at all and were granted with 5k BP. The killer gets hurt a lot more if survivors DC

Yes matchmaking should match a SWF against a killer on the same rank as the highest member of the SWF. (they have voice comm to their advantage anyway). I dont think that matchmaking shoudl prevent players from palying with each other, rank reset happens too often for that and you can climb too fast.
If you dont give any incentive to join the SWF queue, nobody will want to play vs them because of the obvious unbalance.
Deranking is a thing in every game, you cant prevent it since people SHOULD derank if they are bad.
In DBD the actual problem is that everybody ranks up too fast and that there are literally no rewards or ranked at all. Additionally rank resets every month and is completely meaningless because its too easy to pip -
Play nurse if you dont want to be a victim

Run away if you hear their terror radius. That's not a counter though, if you're working on a gen you can't know where legion is coming from and if you run he/she can still chase after you and tunnel you down with feral frenzy
@Master said:
Legion has a counter, its called spreading and genrushing.
Sure its not fun, but its actually pretty easy to executeThat's not a counter, "genrushing" isn't a thing. "Genrushing" is just survivors doing the objective if the killer can't keep pressure on the survivors. Also with them buffing legion means you need to heal but since you can't be near teammates, you need to run self-care which means there is less choice for perks.
SC was buffed btw
It wasn't a buff, it was a change. If killers are using sloppy butcher and you are using SC, you can just give up at that point.
That's why I use BK
So that would mean I should use both SC and BK and limit my choice of perks some more? I don't see the point in limiting player choice. Do you really have 4 perk slots when 2 of those always have to be SC and BK?
Survivors are not tired of pointing at all the killer perks the killre can use to counter stuff. For example you can "counter" DS easily by using unnerving presence and Enduring
Idk what you are trying to say in your first sentence. Using 2 perks to counter 1 isn't really good for the killers side either, but thankfully you can dribble or just slug the obsession if you don't want to deal with ds at that moment in the game.
YOu can only dribble if you are near a hook and even if you are within range, the DS user can simply tell his mate that you are dribbling and thanks to the absurdly long drop/pickup animation can bodyblock the hook easily, triggering DS.
Slugging has been nerfed significantly, the survivor can heal themselves even up to 95% now which makes the pickup time from the ground THREE TIMES FASTER than it used to. Also slugging (even with knock out) doesnt work against SWF
Tbh I haven't been bodyblocked many times when I've gone against ds users. If you see them come under the hook to take a hit I'll just drop the ds user when I am next to the hook and their friend runs away and then I just move slightly forward (enough to be under the hook) and hook them.
If I can't pick the ds user under the hook I just go after their friend. They still need to heal the ds user to pick them up from dying state which still wastes some time.Well the survivor can run immediately back if you go back to the slugged DS user. In the meantime the slugged survivor will crawl away from the hook and thus deny the juggle progress you made so far.
You cant hit him while carrying the DS either since the DS will escape then.Good you instantly drop the DS user and follow his saviour through the loops. By the time he goes down, the original DS user has been healed with ease, probably a gen has been done and you can deal with the next DS user. What are you going to do? Drop him again?

I also forgot a very good DS counter. The perk Unnerving Presence causes the skillcheck to be lowercase. The player has to be really good to get it right. The survivor still hits the skillcheck and gets the free escape, you used a perk slot for nothing. How can you call that a coutner?

DS is balanced when a bad survivor uses it.
DS is unbalanced when a good survivor uses it.
There is not a single perk that is worse than DS in the entire game.
That single use is more than enough btw.Usually one only talks about balance when "somehow competent" players are playing the game because it would be absurd to balance a game around a beginner.......
Also Id like to point out that moris can only be used once too on a surivor and reduce a life

I 100% agree.
If somebody can't get kills with ebony mori, omegablink nurse, it is on them. We can't pretend like that combination is the most balanced thing in the entire game.
Game should be balanced around somewhat competent players, not the top ones but I would say above average is good enough. If a survivor is above average and uses DS, good luck to you, you will need it.
It is so difficult for some people to grasp the reality.
I dont know, omegablink nurse with mori vs competent 4 man with insta heals (maybe a toolbox too?) and 4x heavy fog.
I dont wanna be that nurse...... -

Throw the survivor on the floor, calculate the time the DS appears. Several killers do that.
Or simply tunnel it
You cant waste DS anymore while dropping the survivor, thats been fixed quite some time ago.
Tunneling DS? How does that work?

I started playing this game in oktober, got rank 1 survivor my first three weeks of playing and rank 1 killer during the double BP event.Getting rank 1 as survivor is easy as [BAD WORD], while rank 1 killer is simply put, way harder to achieve.
Its farily easy to reach rank 1 for both sides because the ranking system was designed with the aim to hide the actual unbalance of the game. Apparently the devs think that giving each player a pad on the back "well done, here you have your pip" compensates for unbalance
