I genuinely believe you guys are just a bunch of survivor mains who played killer a few times and wants to weigh in like your opinion matters.
Playing killer is not fun anymore and has not been for a long time. If you are a no-lifer nurse or blight main, you are going to do well against anything that isnt a survive with friends. ANY other killer really struggles to get a kill unless they camp under the hook.
The only way to balance this game is to forget about nurse and blight and rebalance m1 killers. Share bloodpoints between survivors - that way people are rewarded or punished as a team for gameplay choices.
Sharing points is an interesting idea I never saw suggested before.
One thing though. Share between living survivors. Someone who dies first should have their share of the points up until that point, after that, the points get shared between the remaining 3, then the remaining 2, then last survivor gets all the points for themself.
But at the same time it would feel unfair for the one or two survivors who do all the work while the others just urban evade around and self care in the corner.

Didn't knew wanting to get 4k was being a dick, isn't it the goal of the killer ?
.... that's not what I said, but sure
I meant being a dick to get 4k, i.e. slugging, tunneling and whatnot. You can have fun without doing that and still get kills, but going out of your way to play like that to guarantee 4 kills is no fun for anyone involved.

sigh You are probably right. I mean, BHVR could take a solid stance and not give in to this demands by stating that this is part of what sets her appart from all other killers, but yeah, I guess it would be pretty oppressive. Same with Demos double Iri gameplay, but at leasts thats two iris needed for the extra fun. But boy is that a mean combo.
Exactly. Iridescent add-ons change drastically how a killer is played, and they're iridescent for a reason.
Not saying I wouldn't love for Amanda to have the letter as basekit, but damn that would make her broken as hell, unless they make her even slower while crouched, but she's slow enough as it is I don't want her to move at a slug's pace either for the added aura read.
But yeah with the right perk combination, paired with the letter.. so fun but so broken haha
-
Agreed. It should only show on your screen, not anyone else's.
But at the same time, I prefer for it to show in the end screen than in the lobby for sure, otherwise people will just skip lobbies. But there are people who don't prestige by choice, and people who'll prestige any chance they get.
-
@Akumakaji said:
I get what you mean, but she would be the only killer who got it and it would add something to her kit. Maybe reduce the reach a bit...
Then you'd get people asking for Aura reading Wraith to be basekit, and Myers aura read to be basekit, and Spirit killer instinct to be basekit.
Same as asking for survivors to have a basekit aura read on the killer's location. No thank you.
(but yes, playing with Amanda's letter is stupidly fun, going for unexpected ambush attacks and whatnot.. same with any aura read add-on on killer to be honest)
-
Aura reading should never be basekit, for obvious reasons. It would be broken as hell.
Yes, playing with Aura reading add-ons is great, but there's a reason they're all Iridescent or Ultra-Rare, and not common as dirt.

What tilts me the most are the charms that each rift has that are repeated 5 times from the basic form to iridescent form...
At least put those charms on the free track and not the premium track ughhhhh-
A filter for charms would be appreciated bc the only ones I rotate with are the Coco marsmallow, Yun-Jin chibi, Lunar lantern, and pride 2021
Yeah that's one of the bad things about the rift.. all the repeated slate charms that no one ######### uses in the first place. I don't care how "rare" it is, it's still junk, I don't want it!
-
Of course it's fun, if you don't go out of your way to be a dick and get 4k each game. If you just go for fun chases, it's nice. Even vs 4-man swf groups.

I don't know any other game that emphasizes charms so hard unlike DBD lmao.
True. And they're sooo underwhelming, too!
I have 19-20 pages of charms, and most of them are super forgettable..!
I wish the game had an option to favourite/hide charms.. So many of them would go hidden so I would only see the good ones.
-
@Mazoobi said:
True.
I also wish the rifts offered more than just skins and charms. 95% of the charms they offer are so forgettable. I will always be an advocate for lobby customizations and loading screens.
Agreed on the charms, especially on survivor.. They're hardly noticeable. On killer, they show up way bigger on the hooks so I don't mind them as much.. but on survivor? Eeehh.. (and to be honest I hardly bother equipping any on killer because it's so pointless)
-
Same. On survivor, offerings and items should be a common pool, on killer offerings should be a common pool.
And heck, on killer, add-ons could be numbered, iri addon #1 and #2, ultra rare #1 #2 #3 , etc etc, and they get shared.
But yeah with the upcoming changes it won't matter much anymore since you'll keep everything when you prestige (but it sucks if you got everyone to p3 prior to that, you won't get back what you lost in previous prestiges, but it'll still reduce the grind greatly so you'll be able to spend spare points into anyone)
-
Dead Hard should require a very hard skillcheck for it to work. There, dead hard fixed.
-
######### no
-
Didn't read past the 2nd or 3rd comment.. but seriously..
There's only a handful of stealth killers, out of 28 killers.. I don't want every killer to be a clone of one another, please leave stealth killers alone.
Same with teleporting killers. Yes, there's been more of those lately, but they're still a minority.
The game having only W+M1 killers would suck so bad. It's bad enough that survivor is an M1 similator, please don't turn killer into a boring W+M1 chore.
-
The new prestige/perk progression system is exactly to prevent the grind. Once you've prestiged someone, their perk is unlocked at that level for everyone else. P1 Claudette unlocks all of her perks at level 1 on everyone else. P3, at level 3. So once you've gotten someone to p3, their perks won't show up on anyone else's web anymore. So yes, it's grindy to get everyone to p3, but once you've done it, no more grinding for 200+ webs to max out anyone.
Oh and prestiging with the new system will let you keep your items/offerings too.
-
Wait, the grey part is part of her head?
On Nea's outfits, the neck is part of the body (a friend commented on wanting the choker of her last outfit to go with the head, not the body)

Give me a break, you guys are gonna whine long enough that they will unlock the rewards anyways...BHVR is gonna need a feel good celebration even otherwise they'd have to admit they dont have the player base to justify these goofy stats.
Of course we'll whine, the global goal for the very first challenge was stupidly high, after a day it wasn't even at 10% completion. I know it was a week day but if it takes 5 full days to get the first community challenge, how long does that leave you to do the other ones before the next level of challenges opens? Answer: not long enough

10 seems much more reasonable but the problem of having to equip the challenge remains as some players don't even bother with the archives.
Is there any way to make it so the next available community challenge is autoselected if no other challenge is selected? (Or better yet, make it so community challenges don't need to be eqipped in the first place)
Or make every kind of challenge in general a passive thing. (I know I'm a bit late on the response, every community challenge except the last one has been completed, and even that one is 20% of the way done right now, so tomorrow it'll be finished)
-
@Sluzzy said:
No. Killers "always" gets much more than survivors and can prevent others from getting points.
True. Unless the killer does real bad.. I've had super bad games where I got the rare below 10k score.. but in general, even on a bad match, I'll get around 20k, or sometimes even more.

There's still a few that look iffy, but at least the devs are willing to work with us here.
Yeah I'm glad they adjusted it within a day of the event starting, this means if the other ones don't progress fast enough within a day or two we can expect more changes.

Much more realistic. That's good :)

And what if the community doesn't?
Seeing how easy the challenges at the bottom are, I'll work on those first, then have a community challenge equipped at all times until it succeeds. The progress on that first one is going nicely already and it's only been one hour, so I doubt it'll take very long to complete

Survivors don't always get flans they're severly cucked because of flashlights / toolboxes / medkits
Really? I got lots of them on the two survivors I got from 42-43 to 50 using the 600k points, like 7-8 on each character, and multiple ones per web many times. Guess I just got lucky.
-
You get one anniversary pudding or whatever they're called per web MINIMUM, so it's not like they're any hard to come by, you'll get good games and bad games, same as when there's no event going on. Not everyone cares about the events, or go out of their way to play extra nice when they see lots of cakes/puddings/party streamers.
It sucks, but hey at least you get them once per web, as opposed to how older events were never guaranteed to give you anniversary stuff.

I have the same question. I’m sure we’ll have an answer here shortly as it won’t take too long for someone to get 40 skill checks and tell us what happens.
Well seeing how the second one has 0 global progression on it at all, I assume it means the global goal has to be achieved before the community as a whole gets access to the next one.. but yeah, that's just my guess

@Mandy said:
It ends on the 30th of June.
It only lasts 2 weeks? The Halloween Tome lasted 3, if I remember correctly, gave an extra week to finish up the challenges. (not that they're any hard but not everyone has the time to do them all, as well as doing the regular challenges that just opened)

No one plays her, so they'll pump more Nea and Feng skins out instead.

Spies is one of my favorite perks. When I started playing killer, it was always one of the first perks unlocked in the blood web. I was stuck on bitter murmurs in my noob days, and spies opened my world to better perks. Are there better perks? Absolutely, but my crows have helped me many times. Those crows are good birds.
Totally! I'm a huge tracking perk fan, and Spies is one of my go-to perks. Survivors always underestimate crows, it pays off so many times!
Another perk I enjoy and no one cares for: Hangman's Trick. I've seen so many survivors go into a locker near a hook and grabbed them out of it. Best one was: Nurse, 2 survivors left. Carrying one to their death hook. Look around. See someone go into a locker. Drop, blink right in front of their locker. They ran like hell. They still died though.

PC. I'm just not good at aiming. But I mean, I hardly ever play Trickster so that's probably part of the problem. I'd get better if I played him more, but I don't care for it.
-
I'd get better results just holding W and pressing M1 over throwing a million knives that will all miss because I suck at throwing knives. So when I play Trickster, I usually just go the M1 route unless there's a big empty space or something.

On killer: Spies from the Shadows
On survivor: Autodidact maybe? I don't know depends on the situation.

I don't really enjoy killing, I like chasing survivors around, using my power, getting my 4 stack, and then everyone escapes. Those are the matches I find fun. If someone DCs, though, and I continue to play, then survivors take so, so, sooooo long to do the gens because even a little bit of pressure brings everything to a halt. So I put the controller down and watch videos or get a snack or something. The survivors can do all the work to finish the match while I give my hands/wrists a break.
Yeah I get you, the chases is the most fun part of playing killer.. Survivor? I'm not good at chases, so as survivor I have more fun escaping, not the actual chases (though I have more fun playing survivor with friends in general, not really solo)
But yeah unless I have a Kill daily/challenge, I don't mind letting people get away, depends on how I'm feeling. But as you said, as long as I get my 4 stacks, who cares, you can get a higher score by getting 4 stacks and no kills than getting 2-3 kills but no full stacks. Same as survivor, going for a late game rescue and getting a protection hit + safe unhook for 2 stacks is worth more than making it out alive.

Cool, so I do the right thing by usually going AFK as killer if there's a dc. Good to know, though I don't get why survivors take 20+ minutes to do gens in those matches, would've been way quicker for all of them to DC and take the penalty.
Or for you to just keep playing and kill them all and everyone can move on to the next game.
"Oh someone DC'd, let's farm for the next half hour to max out our points!"

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/327613/anti-teabagging-flashlight-clicking-system
These are only minor issues compared to killef facecamping/tunneling and hitting survivors on hook and making survivors just feel as miserable as possible. Those are much bigger issues does teabagging prevent you playing the game? Nope it's maybe annoying but when you hook them you can headnod and hit them on hook to payback. Flashlight clicking needs nerf that it can't ve done too fast and blinding also should be less bright cause some people are sensivite for these. Even I once got headache from someone clicking at me but I played too long anyway that time. But really facecamping and hitting survivor on hook are at least as much as toxic. You probably don't care about these issues as you only play killer but I play both sides and those are big problems.
Yeah, clicking and teabagging is baiting the killer... facecamping (not just camping, roaming around, literal facecamping) and hitting the survivor on hook, or slugging the last survivor for no reason at all and waiting for them to bleed out.. now that's toxic.. clicking and tbagging? annoying, but not really toxic

@Audiophile said:
I report them as unsportsmanlike every time. The game is balanced to a 4 man swf. When playing as solo there’s often an instant DC. So we now have an already unbalanced game (killer is favored vs solos) become insanely unfair. Since Behaviour can’t figure out a fair way to deal with immediate DCs it’s MY OPINION that it is unsportsmanlike for a killer to play a game that is wildly unfair and balanced in their favor and they should just make it a farming game instead of beating up a team that is stuck in an unfair match since Behaviour wont let us quit in these situations. Just throwing it out there… It’s your system Behaviour. This is how I interpret it.
"game is balanced to..."
You're really thinking the game is balanced to anything? Seriously?
That being said.. yeah as Crowman said, blame the person that DC'd, not the killer for just, you know, killing. It's killer vs survivor, not killer vs disconnecter.

Good. Better than most. But as TotemSeeker said, I prefer Light. But overcome is a good one since you'll use it in a chase anyway, as you usually will with Lithe
-
Agreed, 5 second is stupidly long. Half a second would be fine.
But then again. Clicky clickers and teabaggers are obviously bait targets, just don't fall for it and go for other ones. (though sometimes they're just trying to get you to chase them to become better at chases)
