One thing to keep in mind with the green glyphs.. The points you get doubles with each glyph.
500 for the first
1000
2000
4000
8000
16000 for the 6th one. For a total of 31,500 bonus points if you do all 6 yourself. So if you're the only one doing them, it's worth going out of your way to grab them all, and their auras show during the collapse, so open a gate and look around to find the remaining ones, if there are any left to grab.
-
If they want attention they can go shitpost on reddit instead of polluting the forums here. But yeah you're probably right. And I usually stay away from these threads, I don't see the point.
-
I don't get people who come to the forums to post about how they hate the game and they'll never play it again.
Or worse, people who come and post ######### about the game, while saying they haven't played in 2 years.. Why do you keep coming here if you haven't been an active player for years? Stockholm syndrome much?
-
It's a game, just remain polite that's all.
But yeah people think the other side saying "good game" after stomping you is them rubbing it in your face.. it's not, they're just being polite.
Had a match the other night vs this group that all had flashlights (along with the macro to make them click super fast) and a shitload of double chance perks, and all they did was try to get flashlight saves at the worst angles possible, either when being picked up, or baiting locker grabs. I ended up killing 3/4, 4th one got lucky on the hatch spawn otherwise they were dead as well. It was a frustrating match, but at the same time, it was so fun because I knew there was always one of them around me at all times (to be fair, they only did 1 gen super early on then all 4 were around) so I'd slug as much as possible before trying to hook someone, but they all had unbreakable and other perks to pick themselves up all the time. The endgame chat was wholesome, everyone had lots of fun.
So just make the best of it, be polite to others, don't be a dick on purpose in-game, or at least remain civil about it at the endchat. And if someone's being a dick, it's a game, just move on to the next match, chances are you'll never play with them again.
-
What would really help with these challenges is a progression tracker in the HUD that shows your active challenge and dailies and how much progress you've done on them. (with a toggle in the options, not everyone would want that and not every daily/challenge would need a tracker)
-
Main issue with lots of perks is letting your random teammates know you have it.
This one, many of the healing perks (Solidarity comes to mind, how many times do 2 wounded people try to heal the other person first.. whoever has Solidarity should heal first so save half the time it would take to heal them back, but nope it's back and forth and you waste time in the end)
They did well with Kindred and yeah lots of perks should get modified with that in mind. Or heck just allow us to see what perks everyone is using once in a match or something. Would be nice to know if someone has BT to let them unhook while I take a hit for them, or if the person on hook as DS or something. Or if the wounded survivor being chased as the last gen is about to go has Adrenaline or something to help once the gen pops.
But yeah the way Camaraderie works right now is bonkers. Just needing to be close enough to add an extra 34 seconds, without needing to stick around.. It should require the survivor to remain there, and the timer unpauses if the survivor leaves the area.

The community picked pain resonance to be on the shrine
Yes, I'm aware. And I know usually, they're randomly selected or something, not picked by the community. But usually, perks that show up within 3 chapters of being released get a boost in price/reward if you already have it unlocked. Hence why I'm asking. I mean, we get daily login bonuses and whatnot all week so that might also have been taken into account.

Nah, thats wrong. Survivors have more dailys. Each survivor you own has a "survive and escape a match as XXX" daily.
The system simply assigns you more dailys for the side you play less.
And they also all have "Do 3 unhooks with X" and then there's the generic ones to do gens/heal/coop that can be done on anyone. Each killer has 3, their power, chase and mori. (unless I'm mistaken)
-
Good news is, we've still got 5 more days to fill up the survey, so getting it wrong for the first day gives us a bit of wiggle room to get it right the next times. But the survey question should have been clearer :/
-
I was wondering the same, since inputting the wrong number would void my entry,. I mean I guess I could enter it twice, once with each ammount of points, just to be sure, but I would rather do it right the first time.
-
Kate and Amanda. I hardly ever play Amanda anymore because i'm doing dailies/challenges on other killers, but I love getting the occasional "Ambush 4 survivors" dailies, those matches are so fun, cause I love playing her. She was the first killer I ever played back when I started 3 years ago. I had the choice between the Halloween or Saw bundle and decided to go with Saw..
As for survivors, Kate is the best, but I still have Adam and Jeff at p3 with every perk at level 3, and I've been working on Zarina too. And dumping points on Elodie and Yui in preparation for the prestige/perk changes.. but overall, if given the choice, Kate all the way.

You're forgetting that BHVR are nerfing just about every meta perk, what's the point in p3ing Bubba for bbq when it's going to be a shadow of it's former self by the time the Prestige update comes anyways.
They just said they were going to give 40-ish perks a lookover.. Doesn't mean they'll nerf all of them. And honestly, most people, myself included, run BBQ for the points, not for the aura reading. I mean, the aura reading is nice and all, but there are other tracking perks I'd prefer using, and once the perk progression/prestige changes roll out and you don't need to grind ever at all anymore, I'll probably switch it out on most killers in favour of more useful perks.
EDIT: and heck, the points bonus should be basekit. Save unhook/protection hit? Bonus points. Hooking different survivors? Bonus points. Don't force people to equip perks they don't care for. At least now We're Gonna Farm Forever gives a bonus to healing downed survivors, but it's so situational i'd rather use something else.

So you're saying get everyone to P1 before the patch? If you do that after, it has the same collective effect, and then you won't lose the Perks you had previously unlocked or your add ons when you prestige.
Pretty sure perks will reset with each prestige, but yeah they did mention you'll keep your add-ons.
But honestly, once you've p3'd everyone, you'll have every perk on everyone right from the start, except the generic perks. So it'll be easy to get everyone maxed out within a week of each new chapter. Then afterwards, every point you gain can go towards leveling whoever you want to get more add-ons and items and whatever. So to me, keeping my items/add-ons is pretty low on the list.

I just P3'd a couple of my favorite killers and will probably P3 Felix this week with the blood hunt, but I'm not going to bother beyond that. It's kind of madness to go through the exact grind that the update you're trying to beat is meant to relieve.
Except with the upgrade, the grind will be much much less bad once you've done it once per character, rather than having to get 250+ perk levels on everyone, you'll only need to get about 50-ish (the base perks everyone has access to, since those won't start unlocked)

Its a good perk but maximum 5 times per game is insanely bad. Its basically a meme perk atm
Yeah seriously.. Especially considering how most times a killer attacks, they'll lunge.. So if you don't pay attention, you'll just waste your stacks at regular lunge distances where you'd have hit them without Coup anyway.
-
The problem isn't the killer, it's your survivor teammates disconnecting on you. The killer just did their job: killing you. Sorry to tell you this but, just because someone disconnects doesn't entitle you to a free escape.
-
@Dead_Harder said:
Gearhead to immediately show the aura of the next closest survivor for 3-4 seconds when a survivor loses a health state.
Coup de grace to gain a token per hook.
Adrenaline to be reworked to immediately put you to injured state from the dying state whenever a gen is repaired but not heal you completely.
For the Coup de Grace one.. maybe leave it as one per generator complete, but only take away a token if the hit is succesful.
I did the Coup de Grace challenge earlier today or yesterday (can't remember, I did lots of challenges these past few days) and I forgot I even had the perk equipped since, you know, you just need to have it equipped and lunge at survivors.. I did get a down using it on purpose at one point though, survivor ran around a corner and he was sorta too far for a regular lunge.. but I had a stack and went for it, and it was enough for me to reach and down him. It's a pretty good perk if you use it properly, catches survivors by surprise since they don't expect it.

What's even the point of not bypassing them? When the LAST survivor gets downed the only possibility for them to win is if killer doesn't wait for the DS or doesn't camp them in the ground while waiting. In other words, the only thing second chase perks do at this point is making both the killer and the survivor waste a whole minute doing nothing. If anything, second chance perks SHOULD be countered by the new Mori.
And as they said, they're removing mori offerings and making the yellow mori automatic basekit. Last survivor gets downed? Auto mori.

My only "concern" (I'm not TOO worried about it LOL) is while I understand they don't want to tell us upfront what the reward will be, I'd at least hope IF it were going to be something like in-game currency, they would at least say that. While, yes, an exclusive cosmetic would be cool, I understand A) that's not what it's going to be, and B) some reasons why they're avoiding cosmetic rewards altogether.
But for a pre/post lobby banner, or maybe even a cool animation you can now do with those P3 characters (like the pointing or "come here" animation, but adding a little goofy 3rd animation for P3 characters if done before the change), I'd still think grinding until the change is well worth it, to me at least with characters I don't have discontinued event items. I mostly have been collecting those on my characters I already have p3'd anyway so as not to lose them. P.S. I don't think it will be something like a bonus animation, but something that is still a possibility, even if not likely.
But if it were to be in-game currency, I know a lot of people won't feel its worth it, me included, so I'd hope we get that clarified sooner than later. Now Mandy stated it won't be "legacy 2.0" and wanted to be clear on it to manage high expectations, but I'd argue that the possibility of in-game currency as the reward, if it's not, would be managing expectations on the other side of the spectrum. Some people just assume it will be shards and are saying they're not P3'ing anymore characters because its not worth it. And I know there are people grinding assuming it's not shards or something and will be bummed if it is (life's a gamble tho, what can ya do XD).
I personally don't think its in-game currency as I've seen them use words like "distinct" and "unique" which in-game currency isn't really either. I wouldn't see any reason for them to have to be secretive about it really. My money (hopefully not in-game currency tho right? LOL) is on an exclusive pre/post lobby banner/icon for your P3'd characters.
You're probably right. I mean, they did mention you could prestige past p3 after the update goes live, and that it would show in the lobby. So a special thingie in the lobby for having someone at p3 prior to the update would fit that line of thought.
EDIT: but if that's the case, I don't see why they didn't just flat out tell us that's what it was going to be.. it's pretty underwhelming as far as "unique rewards" go

hangman trick should've kept it ability to reset any hook regardless and just had the aura reading at 10 metres. no idea why they thought the change they made was a good idea to remove the best part of the perk imo
I used to love Hangman's Trick auto-repair.. I once sacrificed 3 survivors on the same hook.. could never beat that record because they changed it afterwards.
The notification is also useless, since it takes 2 seconds to sabo.. So you get a notification as they start the sabo, then another 2 seconds later when the hook clunks to the ground.
They made sabotage/saboteur super fast, and at the same time nerfed the direct counter to sabotage.. I mean I know sabotage now has a 30 seconds cooldown on hook repair, but old Hangman's Trick had it at like.. 10 seconds? It was so fun chatting with survivors after a match where I'd let them sabo in my face, drop whoever I'm carrying, and pick them back up 5 seconds later to hook them right as the hook got repaired.

Same, but the "reward" makes me want to take a headstart getting everyone to p3, since I have no reason to max out anyone anymore once they reached p3. Get the last 200-some perk levels left on Sadako? No thanks, I rather spend those points to get 2 survivors to p3 instead!

Source?
Because, as I don't think we have a Dead by Daylight dictionary, definitions are common usage - and common usage here is standing by the hook to attempt to grab/instadown people coming for a rescue.
This. Camping refers to staying around the hook to prevent escape attempts, not literally standing in front of it and survivors not being able to unhook. Just because you're not literally standing 2 inches in their face doesn't make it not camping if you're not leaving the immediate area. (but it's fair game if the killer saw someone while carrying the survivor to the hook and knows they're around waiting for them to leave)

Yeah good point, they probably figured "Let's give them a reward for it" but couldn't come up with anything specific in time for the stream, and went "ehh we have 2 months before the midchapter patch where we'll release these changes, it gives us some time to work it out"

The real question to ask when it comes to P3'ing characters would be: Do you want the actual bonus for doing it, which is having all those perks unlocked without needing to get them in the bloodweb?
Or, maybe, the question is: Do you want to have everyone P3'd? Would that, alone, give you a sense of accomplishment?
It would definitely be nice to find out what the bonus is beforehand, but you said it yourself- it's not a cosmetic and it's almost certainly not auric cells, so is it really going to matter?
Before they announced that having someone prestiged unlocked their perks for everyone else automatically, I was slowly working on prestiging one survivor at a time, and finishing maxing out killers. After the announcement, I decided to dump every point on survivors instead of killers, since by the time the update rolls by, I won't have to put any time on the p3 killers anymore, only on the very last one, so might as well work on getting every survivor at p3 as well and only have 2 characters to level up total every 3 months.

It's probably going to be some crappy charm.
That would require them designing a new charm for every single character, which I doubt they'll do. Probably the reason they're not doing a legacy outfit, it would require their design team to spend too much time on every character for something no one will end up wearing.
-
@jesterkind said:
Not really? The bonus that they're being secretive about is hardly the main draw for prestiging, it's just something to acknowledge the efforts of people who prestiged before the change.
We know plenty about the stuff that actually matters, so I don't really mind that they're saving something as a reveal. Maybe they don't have it fully finalised yet, or maybe it's meant to be a surprise, it doesn't make much of a difference either way.
Most likely it's not final yet, so they don't want to risk announcing something they can't deliver. But at the same time, if it's not cosmetics or any kind of in-game currency, I don't see why they wouldn't tell us, they told us lots of details about everything else except that.

Oh yes i love being the big bad killer and waiting behind a survivor for 2-3 seconds every chase because it has a pickrate of 75%. Makes me feel so scary. Also again. Dh for distance classic counter to the "wait it out 4head". "Yeah daddy your such a scary killer! Kill em he's right infront of you!"
"Not yet little timmy because see there's a perk in this game where if i don't wait every chase for 2-3 seconds he could get away for free".
I love that example.
Well, I prefer waiting 2-3 seconds for them to dead hard for no reason and then downing them for it, than swinging at nothing, and them gaining even more distance while my killer recovers from the missed swing.
And you'll notice that I said it should get reworked, but it doesn't deserve being killswitched, it works as intended even if the intended way is annoying to play against.
-
I agree with you, I don't see why they're not telling us what it is.
I'm working on getting survivors to p3 (well to p2-50, so they have useful perks if I need to play them, before getting them all to p3 once they announce what the reward for it will be) since I have every killer at p3 already.
If it's simply something in the hud, it's hardly worth it, but overall, with the perk progression changes, it's still worth getting characters to p3 for the fact it unlocks their perks at level 3 on everyone else automatically. But I'll put more effort into getting it done before the update goes live if they announced an interesting reward for it.
But yeah they mentionned it wasn't going to be cosmetics/legacy, so unless it's points or cells or shards, it's most likely not going to be worth it.
-
I honestly don't mind most maps. Except RCPD, ######### that map, glad they're going to rework it. Hopefully it's not as big and as full of corridors and dead ends.. (yeah I know they wanted it to be a 1:1 replica of the station from the game, but just because it was a good map design in Resident Evil doesn't automatically make it good in DBD)
I miss Hawkins, that was one of the best indoors maps. Hope it gets a reskin or something, or that they release a similar-ish map in the future.

You must be new to life. This was a rhetorical question. But I'll bite anyway. If some survivor decides to use their perk and instead end up being slugged, this burning their single use unbreakable, how is that negatively impacting the killer?
And I play a decent amount of killer and rarely encounter these types of plays since the last DS nerf. Since you may be new to the game, there are various perks that have some counter to slugging. Just assume that any survivor you play against may have one of these perks and play around it. Weigh out the costs and benefits of eating the decisive or letting the survivor waste his time on the ground.
Furthermore, play both sides. This will give you a better appreciation of what annoying thing each sides have to deal with as well as give you better insight on countering the other side's strategies.
Or keep crying about how survivors abuse perks. Totally your call.
Hardly sounded like a rhetorical question to me, but hey if you say it was, it's hard to tell on here, since everyone complains about everything.
Oh and I do play both sides. And you're right, we see much less people abusing DS now that they can't do anything except opening the gates if they don't want to lose their precious second chance. Same with people running at your face with Borrowed Time, if they do it's easy to just wait out and down them. Or hit them and send them mending in a corner while you chase your actual target (the unhooker)
And the issue here is people abusing their second chance perks at the end of the game, when everyone else is dead. Not during the match when everyone else is still alive. Context matters. That's what the thread is about, people abusing second chance at the end of the match when they already had the entire match to use them and survive. They're the last one alive and got downed, they lost, they should die, end of story.
-
Is Dead Hard a powerful survivor perk? Sure
Is Dead Hard annoying to play against? Sure
Is Dead Hard impossible to play around? Nope, it's super easy to bait out, either wait a second longer, or look up to the sky, it sometimes works. If a survivor used it against you, just remember they have it for the remainder of the match.
Should Dead Hard get reworked? Sure, but as others pointed out, they're going to go through lots of perks this summer and Dead Hard will most likely be one of them.
Should Dead Hard get killswitched? No, it's working as intended, and since they fixed the server/client communication issues, I haven't had any fake Dead Hard hits that didn't register because of dedicated servers.

Deliverance doesn't even work if your the last survivor in the current game.
Exactly. If you haven't been hooked at all, you can't even attempt to unhook yourself if you're the last survivor remaining, Deliverance or regular kobeing yourself off. And that's the way they're making it for the auto-mori. You're the last survivor remaining? No need to hook you, you get insta-mori'd instead, no need to wait for the killer to pick you up and hook you.
It'll also mean people will dick around the exit gate less, if being the last survivor at the gate means you die if you're wounded and get downed before getting out. No more crawling out while the killer is cleaning their weapon.
Heck, there should be an instant escape if you're the last survivor teabagging in the exit gate. Stop wasting everyone's time and leave.

How does one abuse perks (second chance or otherwise)?
You're new to the game aren't you?
If something can be abused, survivors will abuse it.
And survivors abuse these perks all the time. Get downed on purpose after being unhooked with Decisive Strike is one of the most popular ones, especially paired up with Unbreakable or some other perk that allows you to pick yourself back up. Oh and opening an exit gate doesn't deactivate DS, even though escaping is the main goal of the game. So survivors with DS abuse that knowledge as well.
-
You're the last survivor left, you got downed, you lost. You had the entire match to abuse all those second chance perks you listed and failed at it. Just admit you lost and move on.
Same way everyone instantly dies during struggle phase if everyone else left is hooked and also in struggle. You lost, you die instantly, no wasting everyone's time struggling on hook for 500 bloodpoints, just move on to the next match.
-
I've had many games where 2 or 3 generators popped before I even had one person hooked, but still ended up with 4k because they underestimated me and just genrushed the first generators with their toolboxes, and then couldnt do ######### afterwards cause the gens they left undone were all in the same area.
Or other games where I hooked everyone at least once before a single generator got done and they still managed to all get away.
But hey, if having a generator done on you before you hooked a single person is reason enough for you to give up, it's your business, but I feel like you'll be doing that a lot because survivors spawn around each other and near a generator often enough that a generator can pop within the first minute if they all jump on it. Has nothing to do with skill or anything, it's map generation RNG.

A even crazier idea. Just let all available challenges be active and viewable 😞.
Like most other games...
Yeah I made that suggestion in the past..
Play a match, redeem that match's progress into whatever challenge you have available. So if you have one to do safe unhooks/protection hits, one for heals, one for gens, and one for stuns, and you do super well in one of these things but super ######### in another, you can redeem your 8 stuns instead of your 1 unhook.
Or heck, even crazier idea.. Just have every available challenge progress at the same time, as dailies do. If you have 2 dailies for the same character, you can complete them both in one match, so if you do a few unhooks, some heals, some gens, and a stun or two, you could get progression in all of these.
They could just up the required numbers if you can progress more than one at the same time, and I would be fine with it since you could go through it all faster.

Why not? You don't lose anything. Yes it makes sense to do it your way if you have one character with all other perks and they're the only character you play and is only missing the 3 new perks.
However, if you play say all the killers, and want the new perks on all of the killers and don't want to deal with the RNG of the bloodweb, it'd be smarter to just p3 the new killer to get all 3 new perks to tier 3 on all of the killers.
My thoughts exactly. And once you p3'd the last character, it's only a matter of getting the generic perks to level 3, since they're the only thing that doesn't persist after prestiging.

Or I could level the new character to 50, and then just do 4-6 blood webs of whoever I want to play to unlock levels 2 and 3 of the new perks instead.
Getting anyone at p3 means once anyone else is p3, that's 9 less levels of perks to get.. that's 4 and a half webs.. 30 survivors, 4 and a half webs saved per survivor..
that's nearly 120 webs saved.. per survivor
120 times 30 is nearly 3600 webs saved total
(if I didnt get the math wrong, which I probably did)
