You don’t need to P3 anyone, just getting someone to P1 gives their perks to everyone else.
Just unlock the perks and get their level 2 and 3 versions from the bloodweb of who you want to play.
Or buy the level 2 or 3 version in the shrine if you can.
p1 gets the perk at level 1 to everyone. p3 gets the perk maxed out to everyone. It's totally worth getting everyone to p3

Right just like with anything like Smash Hit or using a flashlight for a save.
When I play killer, any survivor playing vs me will have an easy time doing those pallet stuns or blind challenges, because I don't respect pallets and usually don't give a ######### about flashlights. But I hate going for stuns or blinds when I play survivor, cause my first instinct is to not get caught.. and I'm bad at chases.. But lately I had way too many stun/blind challenges left to do from previous rifts (as in, I did every other challenge and didn't care to do those) and I actually had a good time doing them. It was way less painful to do than I expected, and it sorta gets me looking for the next stun/blind challenge, for a change of pace in the way I play survivor.

Yes that's the smart way of doing it. Baiting the perk.
I mean I still get annoyed when I think they don't have it, I swing, and they dodge the hit with Dead Hard.. But it doesn't matter enough to me to call for the perk to be nerfed to the ground. It works as intended.

Yeah I think it is fine also. As I mentioned before I don't know what else you can do to nerf it before it completely becomes useless or removed from the game. It works as it should. I think Killer mains would be satisfied with being able to still hit the survivor mid dead hard or have it removed...but then again I'm not sure what will satisfy killer mains anymore
True, and when I play killer, it's easy to just wait a second or two longer before going for a hit.. Or remembering who used Dead Hard against you in a previous chase and waiting for them to use it again before swinging at them.

It does even take long to get 1 character to p1
Yeah, getting someone to p3 can be easily done in a day or two, so if you commit enough, you'll have every character on one side or the other done within a month. Two for both sides. Then it's just a matter of getting the generic perks on every character, then afterwards, every 3 months, just leveling the new character to p3 and getting the generic perks to level 3, and it's all done. Way less grind than the way it is right now, both for "veterans" or for new players.

Ok so what else can you do with it?
To be fair, I feel like Dead Hard is fine the way it is now. At least, that's my opinion. (and I don't even use the perk when I play survivor, I don't like it, but I don't mind it as killer either)

- COH is not as top tier as you may think. I barely come across people who use it. Since they nerfed the hell out of it it's no better, in my opinion than bringing self care especially if you are far enough away from the boon.
- I can agree with that. Nothing wrong with the way it is now. I think it should be reworked to prevent tunneling, for example, you should be able to use it after every hook save and make the timer for at least 1 minute but if you fully heal or work on a gen it deactivates like it does now.
- Dead Hard doesn't need to go. I feel like it is needed since the Killer's movement speed is faster than a survivor and there are too many weak loops, pallets and dead zones for you to not bring it. Want to remove DH? Make those weak loops and pallets better and absolutely no dead zones. Or maybe add an evade action to the base kit?
- I haven't seen an update since basically Ruin that a killer perk was nerfed. I could be wrong. Every update I see has made a killer faster or able to get their power back quickly or increased the speed in which they use their power (Ghost Face).
- Hug Tech may not be easy for some. Nothing wrong with Hug Tech. It's a basically fundamental in the game like camping or tunneling.
- Nothing to say about this one
- Onryo could use a nerf I guess. She shouldn't be able to come out of the TV and have the speed of The Flash. The same goes for Wraith which I think should be nerfed too since his movement speed while cloaked is super fast.
- I think what more we want out of fixing facecamping is the developers actually talk about it
- Honestly I think, as a survivor main, that NOED is fine the way it is. It's a sweaty, last resort perk that increases movement speed and adds the exposed status effect. It does it job just like Dead Hard.
- I think making the killer hook survivors sequentially could ruin the game for killers, since like you said, you find the same survivor multiple times lol. I'm not really sure what they can do for tunneling besides putting borrowed time and decisive strike into the base kit of every survivor
so as for your other points.. that I have something to say about anyway..
- the fact boons can be reset over and over is the problem. the new killer perk to break boons is stupid, the problem at the start was the fact boons had no cooldowns or tokens or something to prevent survivors to do it over and over and over again. i wouldnt care if circle of healing gave 300% self care speed, if the survivor could only set it up 2-3 times per match, or if there was a cooldown of 2 minutes after blessing a totem, or after their active totem got kicked or something..
- Totally agree, DS should work after both hooks, and deactivate once fully healed or if you touch an objective.
- See previous post
- Can't be bothered to look up the killer perk changes in the past 2 years, but I'm pretty sure there's been others. And complaining about the Ghostface changes is ridiculous. Ghostface has been stupidly weak and had annoying stalking/reveal mechanics, so of course it was going to get buffed at one point, and it finally did.
- Never tried to do Hug tech, didn't know about it til a few days ago, didn't bother watching videos about it.. But from what I heard about it, it's an exploit, even Behaviour said as much, so it needs to go. Doesn't matter how hard the exploit is to pull, it's still an exploit.
- ehh
- Wraith got buffed exactly because he was too slow while cloaked. On the flip-side, his uncloaking speed has been reduced.. so yes he travels super fast while cloaked, but while uncloaking, he nearly stops moving, so any survivor who sees it happening has a huge advantage
- ehh
- Fully agreed. And survivors could just do bones to prevent it. Dead Hard is all game long. NOED is only during the endgame.
- Requiring the killer to hook survivors in turns would totally be broken, survivors would abuse the ######### out of it, as they always do with everything. "Ok you're the sacrificial lamb, get hooked first, then get in the killer's face throughout the rest of the match, he can't hook you twice in a row!"

You do realize that boons are not placed at the start of the match? As a killer, you dont need to go around lighting up Ruin, Blood Favor or Undying to get the effect.
If you don't mind, you don't take the perk and snuff the boons, it you do mind, you take the perk and destroy the totems.
For survivors, the mirror perk would be:
Killers now have to spend time lighting their hexes, but killers can relight their hexes
Killers don't have to set up their hexes at the start, you're right. But once a hex is gone, it's gone. Boons can be relit over and over again, unless the killer wastes a perk slot to bring that new useless perk they made to counter boons, rather than fix the fact that boons are broken.
-

Look at it like this: reverting the CoH changes back to 75% is now a possibility.
No it's not. That new anti-boon perk sucks, because it's a perk. I'm not saying breaking totems when snuffing them should be basekit. I'm saying boons are ######### broken and that's what should have been fixed, rather than forcing killers to bring that stupid perk to have a chance to counter stupidly broken boons.
-
@Predated said:
One thing to keep in mind tho, for every killer that carried a survivor to the hatch, there has been 5 killers waiting nearly 4 full minutes for the bleed out timer to reach the final 0.1% only to pick up a survivor, carry them to the hatch, hook them nearby and close the hatch.
This is why we can't have nice things.
And honestly, having been on both sides of things (getting slugged forever, or crawling in a corner and never been found..... or never finding someone who crawled away.. not slugging them forever, I don't do that) yeah it's a ######### boring way to end a match, I prefer the game instantly ending.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if those characters will get whatever the reward is for having prestige before the new system lands. Like, I have Kate, Feng, and Yui maxed out but none of them are prestige. If the update lands and they're all given prestige 3 (or more), will I get the reward as though I got prestige on them before the update landed? Would I be wasting my time getting them to prestige 3 before the update? Should I just go tunnel down P3 on the other survivors instead? If the devs end up adding legacy 2.0, I don't wanna wind up missing out on it on the characters I play the most because of a miscommunication.
Pretty sure the way I interpreted it is you would still get the reward because you worked for it and have something to show for it.. but I might just have misunderstood what they were saying

If that's their big grind fix it's absolute trash.
How is it trash? Because, as someone who has all killers maxed out and has to grind to get back those final 3 perks each time a new chapter comes out.. I can just p3 the new killer and it's all done in one go. Easy as that. Same on survivor. New survivor comes out? It already has every perk at level 3 if everyone else is at p3. Then it's only a matter of getting that new one to p3 for the new perks to appear on literally everyone else.

Yeah, I really wish we got more specific details on what's going to happen with the exclusive reward for people who have characters maxed out but not at P3. I don't want to lose all my items and BP offerings on my maxed out characters if I'm gonna be getting the rewards anyways. A quick response from the devs on this would be greatly appreciated, but I assume they're going to remain silent on this until the PTB with the new prestige system drops.
For the "maxed out but not p3" part, they did mention they would calculate how many perks you got and give you a sorta-prestige reward since you did go through the trouble of getting all those perks. I'd have to find the exact moment in the stream or the part of the transcript but I can't be bothered.

I really just can't think of how you can nerf DH anymore. It works as it should and sometimes it really doesn't. It all comes down to timing with DH.
What I hate about this game is that you get enough Killers to complain about something and it's nerfed within the next patch. If survivors complain about something being overpowered then it's completely overlooked. That's why we have to faith in BHVR to commit to their word about making this game more fun and enjoyable because they only cater to Killers
Are you high? And where can I buy some of what you're having?
More serious answer.. survivor mains always complain about killer stuff being buffed, or their own stuff nerfed.. and the other way around, too.
Lots of undeserved killer nerfs in every patch, but also lots of undeserved survivor nerfs
And lots of deserved ones on both sides, to be honest. Some ######### was busted.

yeah, most likely that'll be the case. I got a little less worried when I read that they would take in consideration how much you invested on non prestiged characters to then give the equivalent in prestige, but I wonder if this would be considered the same as having the prestige itself before the changes/rewards come. Let's hope and see I guess.
Yeah the announcement was so vague, we'll have to wait and see what they're actually going to do with all of it
-
@vanGlasse1 said:
I'm really interested on this as well since the only characters I have p3 are from licenses 💀 while originals that I like I just get all the perks tier 3 instead of prestige since I have skins that I like more than the prestige itself.
Yeah I was wondering the same, about original/licensed...
I expect it to be original characters only, like with the anniversary crowns and a bunch of other things, otherwise it would cost them a lot to get permission to give out free cosmetics to basically half the player base (ok, exagerating there, but.. you know, no money for them to be made, and they'd have to pay the license holders for permission)
So I assume it'll be original characters only.. so they're the ones I'll be working on getting to p3 first.. then the licensed ones after if I can be bothered.

This is the DBD dev way. Instead of fixing a problem by reworking mechanics : they create new perks that act as bandaids.
Bamboozle is a bandaid for when the game makes absolutely unfair RNG. The game shouldn't allow survivors to link window vaults back to back in a chase (father campbell's chapel is potentially really bad about this). Scott Jund's dream patch notes asked for tiles to be weighted and spread out - it's a really good idea.
No we dont get that; instead we get bandaids. Use this perk or you have the potential to suffer.
To be fair... over-booners are a build-in slowdown for killer, so I rather not use that perk, and have the over-booning survivors waste 20 seconds each time they want to bless a new totem cause I kicked their last one.
But yeah... it's not a proper fix to an existing problem. But hey at least they gave the thing an aura read, so if you kick mid-chase, you can still find whoever you were chasing, or if it wasn't midchase, you can find anyone hiding nearby.
One thing I'd add to that new perk to make it actually useful.. Let the killer see the symbols of each boon at play when within, like.. 3 meters of the totem (not within the boon radius, but close enough to actually see it) so you'll know if you want to kick it if it's a 4-in-1 boon, or leave it alone if it's a more useless one

I was wondering the exact same thing when I read that. Some clarification on this would be really helpful.
Clarifications and an ETA as to when these changes will come, to know if it's worth rushing everyone to p3, or if it's going to be a useless charm.
EDIT: Oh and will it only be for original characters, or licensed ones as well?
-
@Thrax said:
Seeing as some characters aren't seemingly ever getting more cosmetics I'll bet it's a character specific charm you can't see half the time. If that is the case it'd have been better left unsaid.
Or some pointless variation of the default outfit that'll look tacky at best.
-
Was also wondering the same.. I have every killer at p3.. but I'm wondering if it would be worth getting every survivor at p3 before the change comes. (but at the same time, with the upcoming perk changes, I'll p3 every survivor just to have all of the non-generic perks at level 3 on everyone automatically, so I guess even without knowing what the reward is going to be, I'll do it ahead of time on the survivors I like best and work my list down to Nea)

Ah yes. Creating a new perk that's otherwise totally useless in every other situation to fix the boon problem, rather than giving boons a cooldown or tokens to make them less abusable. Good job.

Zombies are attracted to players and that affects their movement patterns - vision cone aside, they respond to loud noise notifications or generators that are being worked on. If there's a zombie nearby and you're looping Nemesis, it's often best to move away from the tile, or the zombie will eventually get in the way if you stay there too long.
They'll wander randomly if nobody is nearby, though.
(During the Nemesis PTB, zombies used to be attracted to players on hooks and they would relentlessly facecamp. They don't actually do that anymore, and they default to their random behavior if it's just them and a hooked player, but they'll be attracted if players are moving around the hook, which can lead to camping. If one of them gets drawn to the basement during a team extraction, GG.)
Good explanation <3

correct, representation isn't a political statement on it's own. The way BHVR handled it, however, comes close.
I would love to see future DLCs have more diverse characters, so keep it up. Just stop taking advice from modern activist groups, and instead look back at old franchises that had representation done right. Absolutely loved how it was handled in Buffy, even tho that show is now super old.
The problem IMO is that sexuality is made into such a big deal, which makes people respond to it as if it's a big deal. But really, sexuality doesn't matter. That's why the best representation done is the ones where it's just naturally part of a character without the creators going "hey look! this character is XXX!". Just... make an original character, have their sexuality just be a natural part of them and their lore. Then you'll have your representation and people won't start an outrage.
Amen to that
-
@AsherFrost said:

Seriously? I'm mainly a killer player and don't understand this argument at all. Just go to the exit and hit them out.
Exactly, chase them out and be done with it.
I used to get triggered by teabaggers and clickers.. and now, I know the players who do this often try to bait you away from their lesser teammates (the usual ones), or try to get better at being chased, so they're bating you on to chase them (the rarer ones)
So I'll more often than not just ignore the clickers and chase someone else. But it's always fun downing a clicker 3 seconds after the last click.
-

Unless they changed it, yes, any "loud noise notification" on the killer side triggers the zombies.

Agree with the very first response that says turning a 6 year old character gay all of a sudden to please the masses is stupid, and would have prefered a brand new character to be the token first gay character, but at the same time.. it's an horror game based around nothing that has to do with sexual preferences at all... as a friend told me earlier..
"because it's a horror game and you're too busy trying not to get murdered and there's not a lot of, like, quietly sitting around the campfire going "wow, i sure do love cock""
-
@Laluzi said:
It's not as good as it used to be, but BHVR keeps missing the point about why it's such a big deal, and they keep taking the simple route with its nerfs instead of listening to community feedback and trying to work something out.
Slowing down the heals doesn't change the dynamic that infinite self-care for the price of 1/16 perk slots creates, or that snuffing is almost never worth it and that survivors have bought time for their team if the killer dedicates more than 3.5 seconds to locate and snuff the boon. Having a healing station up that can never be permanently removed still hurts hit and run killers and still turns 3-gen scenarios into a lose-lose. The extra 8 seconds buys more time for the killer and slow down the game somewhat, but even now, CoH is an incredibly good perk that wins games and I see it everywhere. I don't hate it as much as I used to, sure, but I also might just be resigned to the death of hit and run at this point after months of CoH gameplay. The only thing that's genuinely changed with the healing speed nerf is that the 'drop pallets and heal in the killer's face' strategy doesn't work anymore, and that should never have been a thing to begin with.
Preach on!
A permanent healing station is broken.
-
The problem wasn't with the speed bonus, it was with the fact they could reboon instantly.
Boons need either
A) A cooldown
You can't reboon a totem if your previous totem has been snuffed by the killer
or
B) Tokens
You have X/Y/Z tokens for your boon. Boons all share the same tokens, up to the max value. So a level 1 boon paired up with a level 2 boon would get the X tokens value. Not additive. Total. Like,. 1/2/3 tokens... Example level 1 boon with level 2 boon would get 2 tokens. Max value.

I think it would be better if your hex totems were hidden and appeared as dull totems for the first 30 or so seconds. Just so you don't lose them instantly, but survivors can still interact with them if they want.
I wouldn't mind that. Lots of survivor ignore totems unless they're lit. So all totems starting off as lit would either a) force them to deal with a hidden hex perk for the first x seconds of the game, or b) force them to cleanse dull totems just in case it's a hidden hex.

I think this is kind of a silly problem because it could easily be addressed by adding a small feature to boxes - that if it detects the killer within 1m for an extended period of time - it begins to gently 'bump' them away with killer specific, invisible telemetry.
If the pig sits in front of a Jigsaw box for 15 seconds, they are bumped 1m away. If they stand within 4m for 15 more seconds, they are bumped 2m away from the front.
EZ PZ. Problem solved. Nobody in the community is angry, and the only people that can possibly find interference from this feature are those that practice the cheese to begin with.
What a bad idea. If the killer gets bumped, what keeps them from just going back? Getting bumped a bit farther? They'll come back and stab you while you're working on that box. That's not a viable fix.
-
Not saying it's not a good idea, but they'd need to change a bunch of killer add-ons for it to work (there's a lot of them that apply either mangled or hemorrhage on special attacks)
-
They could just add that effect to Corrupt Intervention "The 3 farthest generators and totems are blocked by the entity for X/Y/Z seconds"

I agree with Mazoobi, the main problem people have with boons is Circle of Healing. Fix that perk properly.
Charges is a bad idea because it ######### up other boons that aren't problematic.

I just wish I COULD equip whatever perks i wanted to in a kill the/survive with bots just for fun game. Just so I can see if I like the perk, if it were easy to use, how often I may be in its niche, ect. Just without sandbagging my team or screwing myself as killer. Variety is the spice of life and DBD has so many meta defining "security blanket" and "crutch" perks that it's hard to experiment and do well.
Yeah.. being able to use whatever character/perk you want on both sides would be the logical thing.. No need to change anything since the player does everything, it doesn't require them to program the AI or any of that stuff. You could practice stuff on your own without needing to go in Kill Your Friends with other people.

it's because Trapper bot 1.0 is the only bot they have so far
Sadly. But imagine having to program an AI for each single killer, for them to use their powers (and perks) effectively.. I doubt we'll ever see that anytime soon.

i see on 1 and 3 tokens, but 2 tokens? its not broken. the gen can still regress at any means it just cant be kicked
And that's why it's broken. Kicking the generator is basekit. Not every killer brings gen regression perks. So you're telling me if a team of survivors bring that broken ass perk, and there's 3 generators left, and 3 of them get hooked at the same time after each working on a separate generator, the killer with no gen regression perk can't do ######### about it, since your broken ass perk idea means he can't kick it? Or he has to kick it before chasing/hooking you, because otherwise he can't touch it?
Bring Repressed Alliance, if you want to prevent the killer from kicking your generator, that's what the perk is there for, and it has more of a requirement to activate than just "get hooked".
Heck, survivors would allow themselves to get grabbed off the generator on purpose, knowing fully that the killer won't be able to kick it for the next minute or two if they go into struggle and their teammates work on other generators, this one's safe from kicks for now.

How on earth would it be abusable by survivors? They don't mandate whether the killer wants to DC or not.
If a survivor DCs the game continues and everyone still in the game gets to use their offerings.
But if a killer DCs a minute after the game starts he screws everyone up cause the game ends.
I'm just asking to get offerings back that were practically unused cause the killer dc'd
Right. If it's only when the killer DCs early on, sure. But it has to be early enough in the game that no one could do anything, not mid-to-late-game DC. And only if the killer DCs, and it ends the game super prematurely, not if a survivor DCs. That would be the abusable part.
