  • I'm surprised nobody has noticed it: "Boop the Snoot" works, because IT RHYMES!!

If you have to tame a zombie, the same logic applies. Therefore, I claim you need to "Bed the Zed".

Scott "Objectively Right" Jund told me the chapter isn't worth getting excited over.

    Sorry bro.

Regarding that video, Scott makes a lot of very valid points, from the comparative popularity of Ringu compared to Halloween, RE and such; the weariness towards the direction and baffling ideas of the game; and the plethora of new and exciting games coming out, amongst other reasons.

I don't think it came across as a video saying this chapter won't be anything exciting, because it could still be a great chapter, but in relation to the hype people had when Silent Hill or RE came out (the increase in players shows how eager people were for the launch month at least) it doesn't carry the same weight.

In some ways though, it may be good for DBD to take a low profile for a while, so long as they use that to really get to the crux and work hard on fixing the problems they are facing. There are repeated themes being asked to be looked at, and they need this time to deal with them.

See. A little bit of sheit talking at the end, that's ok, like with the old wrestling matches.

But a lot of the people there cross certain lines regularly. When I smash someone at a table tennis match, I might say "Fufufu eat dirt, dirtbag!" and maybe get a laugh out it, because that's what's expected and ok.

But insulting their mother, wishing harm on them for that one good ball they dealt me and cursing their family or insinuating that the death day of their mother should be a national holiday, THIS I would neither do nor allow to fly. Just imagine it in any normal setting.

Video games are not the real life, but behind every single screen sits a real, breathing, feeling person. A human being. And while in today's day and age a lot of people are over sensitive and got no skin whatsoever, this here isn't a snowflake issue. These people, who insult so freely, either lack boundaries in their lives, education to know how to behave or just plain are at that age were they think being that edgy is utmost cool.

No one here is talking about a perma-ban or something like that, but a 72h period to sober up wouldn't hurt most of this peeps.

I'd actually be all for a wrestling-style smacktalk, because in some ways being comical like that lightens the mood for both people. An example would be when I got a 1k as Nurse and one person messaged with "ggez" and I replied "Yeah? Well, if it wasn't for the sheet wrapped around my head you would have been killed. Playing blind is hardmode buddy!". Got a laugh from them out of that.

I know that's not the same as harrassment obviously, and all forms of abuse or harrassment should be dealt with. But if people really were annoyed, my advice is if you somehow have to message about it, make it comical and light-hearted, and focus more on joking about yourself as much as others. It eases the stress, and ultimately it does make you realise that at the end of the day you're both 2 peeps playing a game. Being Mori'd is not like having your family name slurred.

  • Who's saying you can't? You may need to add somw context here.

  • Don't get much in the way of Hag cosplays, but I reckon they'd be quite good, especially if there's something like this:

    DeYbwf8VQAYoaP1.jpg

  • I admit I don't quite understandnit either. Obviously, the accessibility is good, but why they wanted to put a great skill check in there which reduces the time being carried is a bit odd.

  • Orange juice and sugar for me.

  • BHVR are taking steps towards more inclusivity, which I applaud. There will be things that may be hard for them to totally help:

An example is that I have Tourette's as part of my diagnosis; one symptom are twitches in my fingers. I Sometimes end up twitches on the joystick, which can be problematic in chases. I've tried hard to learn to play with it and for the most part I've evolved my playstyle, but I'm not sure of there is anything they can do with this.

The devs will find it a ginormous task to include all disabilities, but I don't doubt they are trying. It's just that there's more involved to disabilities than just colour-blindness and such. Feedback will help, as it's one of many things they'll need to deal with.

  • I wish more people play both sides more often. I believe there would be far less toxicity is people didn't live in these meaningless pretend tribes that currently exist.

Well done for trying both sides! Props👍

  • The best thing to consider is self-preservation over others. Here's an example that happened just now:

I died on my first hook at the endnof a trial. The only survivor to do so. I died saving another, who I gullibly believed would heal with the other 2 and come back, since we'd worked well as a team throughout. Unfortunately, they all ran and escaped.

Now, that's just how games can sometimes go. They have no reason to save me, and it's not like I've escaped before when maybe there was a chance I might have saved someone. But what got me were the scores at the end. Despite my death, I was 2,000 BP below the top scorer. That meant that I did vastly more than any of the other 3. However, because of MMR I go down, whilst the other 3 go up. That may explain, in part, some of the messes we get in matchmaking; MMR may be okay in terms of what it's constructed to do, yet is not efficient it what it really ought to do. The "win/loss" system is screwy.

So, best thing to do is be altruistic up to a point, but once all gens are done, the gates prepped and all, if there is any doubt you have that a rescue may screw you over then just escape. Currently, to get better survivors, you ironically have to work as a less-altruistic player, which is a little strange when you think of it!

  • Another Twin nerf??? My God, hasn't Charlotte suffered enough? No longer is having her twin die, then have it ressurected, only to die multiple times in trials at the hands of strangers, and then to have many add-ons ripped apart, only to want another way to torment her?

I have no idea how she is not in the Void yet!

  • This discussion does highlight a particular point: people have many reasons as to what they believe is the problem, and because of all of these possibilities it's difficult to agree on the key starting point.

There's certainly nothing wrong that we all have valid concerns, but if the devs focus on one particular issue there will always be others upset; believing the focus should have been directed somewhere else.

It's an issue with multiple concerns. The game is absolutely not in danger at this stage, but if a solid direction isn't set to deal with the worst of concerns it'll become much more muddled.

My hope is they make a visible year plan for people to see, stating when key issues are to be addressed. That way, people may feel more a that at least a plan of action is in place. It'll show they're actively working on the most problematic scenarios and in turn the player base may start to grow, knowing that things are being directed.

  • I bet the furries love you!

  • The best way I've found to play him is "in character": Max is an unpredictable, deceptively clever and maddened killer. Trying chainsaw rushes through near-impossible gaps, routing survivors and causing complete chaos through an aggressive, care-free playstyle makes him, at most, a destructive force, and at least a lot of fun!

  • Scarecrow has the most potential in terms of unique gameplay. His fear toxin can make the trial warped and create new obstacles and abilities. He could become a multi-tooled killer like Freddy, and could add a new horror element to the game.

  • I never knew that! Never played it, but I've read some information of it, and watched a couple of videos. They have some good killer ideas though!

  • I understand why they went: the masks themselves weren't racist, but some players were using them as tools of racism. So the decision to remove them was correct in my opinion.

But I too can see why some may be upset that they have gone. However, both sides are very much against racist #########. It's that minority which caused the problem.

I wouldn't lump everyone together as you have though. That's lazy.

  • Pretty much my reaction when reading this:

    onuPiQ.gif

    Well played, sir.

  • It would suit Identity V far more. However, it may work, but it would have to have a HUGE rework. Like a comparative rework equivalent to Schumacher's Batman turning into Nolan's Dark Knight.

Monokuma would effectively become the puppet from Jigsaw, armed by someone else, or turn it into a horrific animatronic. There'd be a huge rework; more than I feel would be worth the pay-off.

  • It's a flavour-of-the-month thing. A good killer is left behind until a YouTuber turns around and goes "Oh, this works!", and then people flock to them.

She's a good killer, and whilst her traps are jump-scares, she is still a killer who can cause some Hell. Plus, she has one of the best Mori animations in the game. I'm never disappointed with it.

I don't play her currently, as I'm using Oni, Nurse and Nightmare currently, with Freddy being rather an oddity: Facing him it's not a very imposing or engaging game, but playing as him is fun as Hell!

  • The worst thing about the _Metaverse_ is that the "God" of it is a corporate Entity. It won't be the free-loving world some hope for. It's easier to corrupt, to hack and to manipulate.

It's very concerning to all bar those making the profit.

The Xbox censors aren't totally in their right mind either. I once got a message from a teammate I saved with the "potentially offensive" warning.

    It said "I love you."

Depends how much you hate being loved😁

There's probably some algorhythm in place which is overly sensitive to words - maybe sees it as predatory or something for some reason.

  • On the Xbox it warns of potentially offensive material that you have to accept before reading. Ignore it, and you can avoid the salt.

  • I'm going for the following prompts:

Repairing; Totem; Healing; In-chase; Exit_Gate; Chest

Basic comments. Being downed and hooked will just keep the icons presently used.

  • I'll do it to try to tell other survivors the killer is still near. Most times it is a waste of wiggle, but on the odd occassion the killer buggers off and I'm revived safely. Probably more by luck than judgement, but I like to feel I'm doing my bit.

  • Here would be my 5 choices:

    1. Walter Sullivan (Silent Hill 4: The Room)

    2. Stefano Valentini with Obscura (The Evil Within 2)

    Scarecrow (Arkham Knight)

    5. - for a Demogorgon-type monster killer

    Deathclaw (Fallout Series)

  • It could be made into a Scourge Hook perk which rekindles a Hex, but your idea of having a specific hook for rekindling a Hex does sound interesting!

    Yeah, I'd be for it!

  • I know it's not the best, but in terms of impact when RE3 came out it was the first time I'd seen a monsyer actually chase you through various rooms in a game like RE and Nemesis came across as very threatening. So I'd go with that.

  • I remember posting some strange stuff, like a poster for "Dream Daddy" with killer faces instead and a "Where's Wally" spoof featuring Michael Myers, but they're quite far back. I should look for them again.

Other than that, I've posted other fun or silly comments amongst others. This makes me want to check. Thanks!

    P.S. Nice comment you found!

  • Nice! Best of luck with the rest of your journey!👍

  • It was cheesy, but I did like the name "I'm Hexy and I NOED".

  • Hellraiser had a voice, then lost his voice, but then recently regained his voice thanks to Doug Bradley; the original Pinhead!

We got a special agent survivor who accidentally killed many people, and a weird human/painting/crow hybrid who never hurt anyone as a killer (nowt wrong with it, mind). We also got a map designed from a painting which was neat.

Buckle Up will be getting buffed. We knew you'd probably want to hear that.

The Twins are suing the Entity for continuous bias against them with uet more nerfs.

Huntress has leaks that suggest she will have a legendary skin and new lullaby!

And on a happy note, the Forums received their 1,000,000 new discussion related to how biased the game is towards killers/survivors! Obviously, many were thrilled with that.

Memberberries. They were a shock the first time. R1make is really one of the best remakes ever made.

I never thought Crimson Heads a strong, conservative views of non-nationals and Ronald Reagan!

  • Honestly, how some the community is I'd say is far more harmful for the game than any balance issue, bugs and so forth.

I've heard of influencers considering leaving because they've not been heard, but other than maybe one video by Scottjund which mocked a specific way people argued on forums I have not seen any significant video holding those of the community to account for the problems of the game.

I do feel something needs to be pointed out. All the talk about DBD promoting this behaviour by having tools in place for BMing frustrates me, because they are only tools if people see them as such and take advantage. People cannot hold their own responsibility for the failings. That's the worst part of the game for me.

Storehouse, Shop, Pantry. Seeing obvious patterns there.

You can see what's been deciphered. The AI interprets it quite well!

  • I'm glad to see the positivity and people seeing the good in the game. 👍

  • Bearing in mind each individual killer has its own MMR, and with some killers you played games in the single figures, and then totaled all killer results together to give the impression the killer MMR is a singular result, this test has some rather large holes in it.

MMR does need changes, granted (still better than what it was before) but to make this worthwhile it's probably best to play 100 games as the same killer and tally that result, which will create a more accurate subjective set of results.

Unfortunately, as a set of results made to prove that MMR doesn't work, the method isn't the most effective.

  • Treating each trial as its own separate mini-horror slasher, and the sheer variety offered by randomizing all my setups.

  • Looks like a lady surrounded by wolves in the snow. It's a nice piece of art! The AI is rather good at interpretation.

Also, fair warning, as I understand it Wombo sells or is going to sell these AI generated artpieces as NFTs.

Edit: I found this tweet about NFTs and it doesn't seem as bad as all that:

god the crimson heads scared the ######### out of me in re1

I remember the first time when I just did a normal run of it and forgot why I had the lighter, until that Crimson Head rose up and pelted at me! I did not expect that craziness!

  • Heavily so. Horror (especially the psychological variety) has been an obsession of mine, so games, movies, stories and podcasts have all become heavily ingrained.

My first memory was as a little kid, and I'm not sure I should be watching it, but it had a vampire female cop with blue skin and a green female vampire in an Elvira-style outfit. The clothing was close to the nsfw category and I am not sure why my parents had it on, nor do I know what the Hell I watched. I was playing a board game called "Cry Havoc" at the time. All I know was I was very young.

  • I tend to like the ones I feared the most in the games, so in no particular order:

    • Crimson Heads

    • Lisa Trevor

    • Nemesis

    • Leech Zombies

    • Titan

    • Regenerators

    • Mia Winters (possessed form)

    • Maguerita Baker

  • Killer Perk: Auric Synapse

Description: You see the patterns and, most importantly, the links that hold the realms' realities together.

Auric Synapse activates once the final gen is done. Each time a survivor is put into the injured state by a basic attack after the final gen pops, any survivor who is on death hook and healthy at the time also becomes injured. This has a cooldown of 90/75/60 seconds.

    Survivor Perk: Sightjack

Description: The Red Water still flows through you.

Press the Secondary Action button to activate. Pressing this allows you to see through the eyes of the killer. You have the ability to use this for a total of 20/25/30 seconds throughout the trial. You cannot move whilst Sightjack is active.

Ty! You've probably read this on other comments, but I did it on the app Wombo Dream. It's a lot of fun!

  • Not that I give conspiracy theories much thought, but I had a couple of games with a very confused Bill in both, which also seemed to walk around strangely.

I did also have an extremely brilliant Bill in a really tough match, so it's not an every game thing, but rather odd.

Woow, super cool. Gotta try it!

Do! It's Wombo Dream: a free app on Google Play. If you've got Apple, I'm sure it's on there too.

  • Really happy for Pinhead and he can say thpse immortal lines again! It completely outlasted No Nut November!

On a serious note, great to have the original Pinhead voice over in Doug Bradley!
