As quite a few people on this thread cannot stay on topic, I'm going to close this here.
This thread was never about whether representation should be in the game as you can see from the OP's post - but many people decided to take it down that route and take the thread completely off topic.
-
yes!
I was wandering over to regress a generator that I couldn't hear being worked on but I could hear active, and as I walked through a pallet the survivor appeared from nowhere and dropped the pallet on my head! Complete waste of a pallet, I got so cross at the waste.
-
As far as I'm aware, if the Survivor is Oblivious or Legion is undetectable - you are not supposed to get killer instinct. Because Killer Instinct is tied to the TR and as these two status effects effectively remove that terror radius then KI doesn't proc.
-
The whole point of EGC was to allow the game to end to avoid any hostage situations, which is why the killer is able to open the door themselves for example. It's not meant to be either killer or survivor sided only to end the game. And I think it achieves that goal well.

A DLC similar to the Charity Pack with LGBTQ+ themed recolored cosmetics would be really great for next years pride month.
I'd love it if something like that could be done - of course the whole legalities of it would need to be gone through...but it's definitely an idea that I'll pass along to the team.
-
Again I will remind people, this is not a thread where representation and whether it should/shouldn't be put into the game is to be discussed - that's not the topic of this thread - there are plenty of more threads on this forum about that.
-
I used to do that, for both survivor and killer matches...I got out of the habit after a couple of thousand hours though. I also used to keep track of all the perks that people used etc, I am a slight stat nerd :(
-
MMR is not active for matchmaking at the moment. When skill based matchmaking is introduced, matchmaking will be done via skill and not via the current shown ranks.
-
Please keep this post on topic, this isn't about whether an LGBT+ character should be added into the game. That discussion has been done and dusted!
-
This does sound like the regular Steam maintenance which happens every week on a Tuesday (depending on your location - it's around 11pm BST).
-
We have already said that an LGBTIA+ character will be implemented but we are making sure that this is done correctly and not just "for show" - plus characters are planned out a lot of months in advance, so this will take time. We are specifically working with GaymerX to make sure this is done correctly.
We also hosted a Charity Event on our Twitch Channel last Friday and raised close to $11k for The Trevor Project, information on which you can find here: https://tiltify.com/@deadbydaylight/intotherainbow
-
If you've done nothing, then there's no need to be worried. Video evidence is required for reports of this nature and that gets reviewed by a specialised team who will make the decisions (assuming reports have been made).
-
You have the Blindness status effect active in that video which means you can't see aura's.
-
If you wish to ask for a refund then please contact the platform on which you purchased the game as it would be up to them and they each have their own rules of that.
-
I believe that this is a bug currently with Bloodwarden, you can check to see if the issue has been reported here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs if not, please make a report there (I don't believe I've seen it listed there).
-
@coley_219 as far as I'm aware this issue was fixed.
-
I've deleted the screenshot as that would fall under naming & shaming.
With regards to what is considered to be reportable behaviour please refer to the game rules where this is listed: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
A certain level of trash talk is pretty much always going to happen in PvP games and this is not reportable - nothing that was written in your screenshot for example is reportable.
-
Peanits takes the credit for adding them, I just poked him :)
but thank you <3
-
There is an acknowledged bug on this, that is being looked into.
-
If you believe that you've found a bug please check in the bug report section to see if it's already been reported and upvote that post - if you cannot see an existing report then please create one with as much information as possible (in this case, that video is perfect to show the issue).
-
We did have it for a brief time, I can't actually remember why it was removed.
I'd like it purely because I'd know if I could go and grab a coffee or something whilst waiting.

So.. what is actually happening if someone uses the offering now?
will it increase chances for the map at all, or even almost guarantee it? Or will the chance still stay extremely low as it is now on default?
The offerings are disabled so they won't actually do anything at all.
-
As said on the Patch Notes under Known Issues, we are aware of this issue and are actively working on a fix. We appreciate the patience of the Community whilst this is being worked on.
-
For bug reports please go to the correct sub forum: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
If your issue has not yet been reported, please create a new bug report and supply all relevant information. If there's an existing bug report then please upvote that issue, again you can add any new relevant information to that thread.

The cosmetics glitch was fixed in order to preserve the image of licensed characters, which means we are often unable to sell additional outfit pieces separately. The team is still working on high prio bugs like the map crashes and performance issues!

So the update is out and the patchnotes and I'm wondering if they are trying to make us angry again.
People are complaining about performance and fps issues that really make it almost impossible to play this game on console since days a few days before the event.
What is fixed after so many days?
Well not that but a bug is gone where linked sets could be separated, you know, the important stuff :O
That's a joke right? Switch players can count the fps with two hands and sometimes with one hand. Ps4 and Xbox games are freezing and have also fps problems. But a linked cosmetic bug has more priority then that?! Really?!?!
The linked cosmetic bug doesn't have priority - it's just that this was found earlier and was fixed earlier. The fixes are still ongoing for the FPS/Performance issues and the team is actively working on fixes for these. They are high priority bugs and are given full attention - also not all of the bugs are worked on by the same people.

And how much more do we need to wait? Why isn't everyone focused on that instead of fixing cosmetics?
Many of the bugs that have been fixed were found during the PTB, which means that work on these issues started a few weeks ago. That said, not all bugs are equal or even worked on by the same people! The team is still working hard on delivering a fix for these known issues ASAP.
-
Another vote for Noodle Legs - that's probably my all time favourite!
-
I believe this will be addressed in an upcoming hotfix, not the one today.
-
@Elena said:
It's funny how cosmetics are a priority over optimisation.
They aren't a priority at all. It's just some issues have much quicker fixes than others - and some things have been worked on for longer than others as well...this isn't about priority.
-
We've released the map for Custom Games, unfortunately until we are sure of stability we cannot release it fully to the live build - but there's a very very small chance that you will encounter the map in a regular game...that's down to having it be accessible in custom matches.
The team is still very hard at work in working for a fix for this map as we know that it's a large part of the latest Chapter, and we really do appreciate our community for their patience whilst this is being worked on.
-
I feel your frustration on this and have similar frustrations - I play the game too! But this is something that the team is actively working on and more fixes will be on the way :( Sadly not eveything is going to be an easy fix.

Jesus guys, a simple look at the credits and you'll find the answers to the roles each person on the team has. Mandy and the other moderators here primary job is to keep things civil and if something comes up from us that raises concern it goes to their higher ups (community manager) Now, obviously the devs are right now working on their stuff and radio silence is usually a thing that happens when you're doing your work. (college assignments anyone? lol) give them the time they need to fix the spaghetti unreal engine code and fingers crossed we get some fixes soon. Having only half a dlc you paid for actually working sucks but i rather it work properly than crash.

I can’t speak for everyone, but a simple acknowledgement to the community that play DBD of “Guys we messed up, sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our team are looking into the issues, and we’ll have it sorted ASAP”
Much like the developers of CyberPunk 2077, delays happened, they took ownership of the problem, and publicly apologised numerous times.
But instead…. We get a robotic answer pinned to the forum “We’ll look into it”
if these sorts of issues were few and far between I’m sure the community would be much more chilled about it….. But no, they’re not few and far between….
Every.
Single.
{Bad Word}.
Chapter a new bug emerges….
Which is either completely ignored for weeks on end ( Shadow nerf ) despite the forums being literally flooded with complaints. Or the above example happens.
We know, that you know. Fog Whispers talk about it constantly. And I don’t believe the company as a whole is that ignorant.
it’s really disappointing to see the community being treated like {Bad Word} consistently.
We have acknowledged the issues - it's even pinned on the very front on this forum and has also been addressed on Twitter and Discord.

@TheClownIsKing thank you <3

Must admit, I am loving Lethal Pursuer on Legion right now...the ability to know exactly where survivors are at the start of the match really helps a lot, as I know what direction to run in to get as many injured as possible. I'm a big fan of information perks as that's what works with my playstyle.

From a killer perspective, Decisive Strike is very valuable to a survivor. However, due to body blocking and the speed boost while the killer is stunned, it's pretty much a 100% guaranteed win for the survivor.
Personally, I find it to be kind of a cheating little move that the survivor gets to use as a get-out-of-jail-free card despite being so bad they couldn't stay alive.
The killer should get some sort of perk or ability that allows him to counter Decisive Strike or even nullify it. Hell, a fair balance to Decisive Strike would be NOT giving the survivor a speed boost to run away. The killer is already stunned. The survivor gets to flee at an increased running rate also? It's not fair in my opinion.
This is another thing that needs to be reworked to create an even playing field for Survivors and Killers.
The survivor doesn't get a speed boost when the killer is stunned and in fact has the drop animation to go through and doesn't instantly move away either as the animation has to play before the survivor has control of their character.

“When healing, you and the Survivor you’re healing make NO NOISE, INCLUDING GRUNTS OF PAIN.”
There’s no percentages here. It’s says NO NOISE. It’s just for the healing action. Make the sounds hidden, or don’t bother making the perk remove any noise. I’m tired of this crap.
This goes the same for Self Preservation. The description specifically says scratch marks, blood, and grunts of pain are HIDDEN!
Stridor Spirit is already strong enough without including MORE ways it CAN’T be countered.
(For clarification, both self healing AND healing somebody else was performed during the match. Grunts of pain we’re still made, albeit quieter. I already know Bite The Bullet doesn’t work if someone else is healing you, unless they have it too).
Hi, I've checked into this and yes both perks should effectively remove sounds made completely not just reduce them - so they should certainly not be amplified by Stridor. If you could make a bug report on this that would be great (any video evidence would also be helpful for me to bring back to the team).
-
There's a big thing here with the word "devs" - this pretty much encompasses everybody that works on the game, including myself. And I'm on this forum 5 days out of 7 (I don't work weekend, but I do pop in during the weekend).
I pass on as much information as I'm able to, confirming things as and when I can - as shown yesterday confirming that there will be a hotfix patch today.
Sometimes there's not too much to say, right now we have a message on this forum confirming that we are looking into the issues that arose with the latest patch, and that it's being worked on. Until solutions are found, tested and ready for release there's really not much to say about it.
Many things are being worked on, including fixes, upcoming content, changes to current content - and a lot of these things are in prototype phases where no final decision has been made, and we typically do not say we're working on these things as then people get excited and expect them to be released straight away, when in reality it's some months off. We've already said we're working on changes to mori's & keys and that they are part of a larger rework for example, yet still there's posts with people expecting this to be released instantly from as soon as we mention that we're working on something.
DbD is now a pretty massive Live game, with an awful lot of things to consider, one change could have a knock on factor to many different things for example so the game as a whole always has to be considered as well as every individual perk, item, character, add-on etc and that does take time, the way things interact with each other always has to be considered, that's why any change always has to be tested to make sure that it interacts with something else in the way it was intended.
Yes, we've acknowledged the issues with the last chapter and we've acknowledged that this is something we are looking into and actively working on, which we've communicated about. Daily updates of "yes we're still working on this" really wouldn't be useful or beneficial.

I have been summoned...
Here are some tips for playing as the Legion:
- Use Frenzy often throughout a match. Feral Frenzy is not just for injuring people. It's a navigational, and an informational tool. Plus the slowdown is helpful.
- If a survivor is healthy, always use Feral Frenzy to attack them when available. As a general rule of thumb, only use basic attacks on survivors who are injured.
- Avoid perks/add-ons that deter healing, but instead promote it. Things like Broken and Mangled will actually work against you as Legion. You want people to waste time healing, and they won't/can't do that if it takes longer or is impossible.
- While in Feral Frenzy and nearing the end of the power gauge, perform a lunge attack to get some extra distance out of your power.
- If a survivor drops a pallet and is healthy, rather than breaking the pallet, vault it instead then apply Deep Wounds onto them.
- If a survivor is further away, end your power and get closer before reactivating Feral Frenzy.
- Contrary to popular belief, Save the Best for Last is actually a really terrible perk to use on the Legion.
- Avoid Corrupt Intervention. It will spread the survivors out and hurt you greatly as the Legion.
- If a survivor is blinding you at a pallet/window, enter Frenzy and vault. If they keep blinding you, they will end your Frenzy by being blinded, however you won't be fatigue. This means you can immediately attack, or down them. This is referred to as "Legion Tech".
- The best chase perk for the Legion is Enduring, it is a teachable perk from the Hillbilly. This is because pallet stuns cancel Frenzy, and bypass the fatigue state. You can have essentially a 1 second stun, rather than a 4 second fatigue. Enduring also allows you to perform "Pallet Tech". This is tech requires you to lunge through the pallet while they're dropping it, hit the survivor, then be clipped onto the same side as them, and down them. It's easier to perform with Enduring.
- Be patient near lockers. Wait and see what the survivor does. They will try to make you miss by jumping inside at the last second. You can grab survivors out of lockers, which makes your power lethal.
- If a survivor stuns you with a pallet and is running away, you can activate Frenzy and vault the pallet, then immediately end your power. This allows you to keep pace with the survivor.
- You can bodyblock pallets and windows in Feral Frenzy. Use this wisely!
- Oblivious and Undetectable do not synergize with your power. They will remove Killer Instinct highlights.
- If a survivor you just hit in Frenzy is running towards a hooked survivor, wait until they attempt an unhook. While they are unhooking, hit them in Frenzy to cancel their animation and to end your power. You will have spared yourself enough time to seal a down.
- Bamboozle is one of the Legion's best perks.
- Hex: Ruin is nasty on the Legion (because of Mending and Deep Wounds).
- The Legion's best add-ons are the duration series, Iridescent Button, and the higher rarity fatigue add-ons (when combined). Mend time and power recovery are also quite nice.
- Frank's Mix Tape and Stab Wounds Study are really... really... really bad. Don't use them unless you are just joking around.
- If you ever lose track of a survivor in Frenzy that you were just chasing, immediately end your power so you can see their scratch marks!
- Sometimes survivors are a bit too scared of you. If you're at a harder loop and the survivor tends to panic-drop pallets, enter Frenzy to hit them and cause them to drop it (even if they already have Deep Wounds).
Hope this helps! :>
Thank you for that <3

at least we have a confirmation that there will be a hotfix tomorrow
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2H5YBQI6SC1B/image.png
And that there's a chance of having the 5th Anniversary Event extended considering consoles are genuinely unplayable.
I didn't say there was a chance to get the anniversary event extended, I said I'd mention it - I would not say there's a chance to get it extended because I, of course do not make those decisions.
I'm hoping tomorrows hotfix will address at least some issues with Nemesis at least.

Hey Mandy, if the performance issues are still around during the event (which is only 10 days away) could you maybe mention to whoever that it would be good to extend the event to make up for time lost due to the issues? Killers will just need to not crash out of a match but survivors will need to escape on top of dealing with these freezes/crashes. Having anniversary event impacted by performance issues is going to really sour the event.
I completely understand that! And I will mention it.
We do have a hotfix due out tomorrow, I'm hoping it will resolve some issues at least.

No, nothing.
Almost a week ago there was a banner at the top of the forum saying they are 'actively looking into it' and 'thanks for bringing it to their attention' (lol)
Nothing since then, not even a forum comment; and all the social media is business as normal with no mention of this massive issue affecting thousands of players, just the usual positive promotion you expect from companies during such a catastrophe when they have already got your money.
For me, its not even so much about how long it is taking to fix; but the lack of communication at all. I would feel a lot better if they told us a week ago that a fix would not come until next week or so, than I would if a fix came tomorrow after a week of deafening silence.
Right now we don't have an update to the message I'm afraid. It's something that's being actively worked on but I can imagine that it's not something easy to implement quick (also I'm not a tech person in that respect).
When we do have something to communicate with regards to the performance issues that have affected players since the last release we will.
-
Video evidence would be required yes.
The best way to send the video evidence is to upload to YouTube and put the link in the Support form for the ACM's to check out. https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new this is the Support address.

No, we don't tend to communicate this information to 3rd parties as we deal directly with the account owner not the reporter.
