Its not my fault if my brother is mentaly ill is it?, I played 18 games, I should get something

    No you should not

You are not entitled to get anything. The requirement was clearly communicated beforehand. You did not fulfill the requirement. You deserve nothing

  • It's amazing how many people want old Legion back

That power was obnoxious, it can never work, it doesn't matter what changes you make to it unless the changes are "Scrap the old power and give him the current power". It's awful design and if the only way you can have fun in this game is by playing a killer with a horribly unfun power with no counterplay then you should play something else

No, pal, it is the other way around, actually. Killers who need to bring NOED in order to achieve something they could not do for the whole duration of the match are not only bad but should go back to another kid's effortless game, like Fortnite. Enough of NOED advocates, NOED doesn't mean you are good, you are just as bad as any survivor picking DS is. Though the ideas you posted before aren't that bad. Means you have SOME sense right there. Just not that much to understand how pathetic NOED is. Oh, and by the way, I am only one. There have been times when I cleansed 4/5 totems, others when I could cleanse NOED right when it popped. Doesn't make it any good of a perk anyway. Other survivors just seem not to care about totems, not even now. We're done here. Sayonara.

No, you are definitely bad at the game and need to learn how to do totems

    NOED is fine

Tunneling is a legit strat. You want killers to stop tunneling? Make games go by slower. Until then, no buffs to anything that stops tunneling.

And for Object Of Obsession it is the most effective counterplay

Also efficient against Adrenaline, why would I attack a full health survivor when I can kill the wounded survivor that was unhooked in front of me with the next hook and ensure Adrenaline can't go off?

  • @Damarus said:

@knell They are still considering about the totem counter, even though it has been "brought up many times" (including by myself), because killer mains are crying about it. Or, to better put it, incompetent cheap killer mains who pick NOED. About Kindred, even though it would only be fair to have all SWF info available to solo players, having a perk that shows you the exact position of the killer by his aura would be too much. But, on the other hand, Kindred only shows killers who are within a certain radius from the hooked guy, since they are camping. That would effectively reduce camping, and I would love that.

If you have a problem with NOED you are bad and should learn to play

This was more of a response to devs opinions on Exhaustion add-ons, annnd..

If you asked a LOT of Rank 1 survivors is this fine?

They'd mention no, because it isn't fun. Do you think 90 seconds of exhaustion is fun? I'm assuming you're rank 1, at least.

And, let's be honest. It's Meta, everyone runs at least one exhaustion perk in a team. Because it works. Dead Hard, Balanced, etc.

I honestly don't see how you wouldn't agree to this, but alright. Hey! Your opinion.

If everyone is running exhaustion perks and killers are countering that because it's logical to do then maybe people should stop using exhaustion perks if they don't want to get countered

If you refuse to adapt you deserve to get destroyed by easily counterable add-ons

    There is no issue

  • The exhaustion add-ons are fine

You can use exhaustion perks when you get off the hook or before you get hit

The add-ons do literally nothing if survivors aren't running exhaustion perks

If you are so worried about anti-exhaustion add-ons then play around them or change your build to not include exhaustion perks

Ironiccally, you pretty much already have this effect. The amount of ppl who immediately DC after being downed first, EXPECIALLY when they think theres a mori... I started using up my shrouds as killer, just to screw with ppl with the "hidden offering".

This is a perfect illustration why both the current and upcoming disconnect ban system are bad: As long as the usage percentage of moris is below the disconnect ban percentage you can disconnect against literally every mori. Cases like that must be handled manually

  • @Bone_Idol said:

Yes a killer that doesn't transform into anything else already exists? If your trying to make the point he has to switch between his power and his weapon then clearly you didn't read the post :) not simply swap to shock swap to weapon but a physical transformation of your character both states have different stats and abilites along with having different visuals. Clearer?

Doctor has different stats when he switches, speed and terror radius from add-ons

Visual changes require a lot of work (cosmetics) for a low payoff (you can't see yourself)

    Just play Doctor instead

  • Moris remove two hook states

The last survivor already loses all hook states so at most you are gaining 6 free hook states from an Ebony Mori

But to use it you must find, and down, a specific survivor or hook someone else who you then also have to find

You can generally tell when a killer has a mori so you can play around it, either be playing more carefully or blocking the hook

Generally survivors refuse to adapt anything new and instead cry on the forum or rahequit until they get what they want. See also: survivors doing the last gen while the killer is coming and then attempting to drown the killer in their tears when they get destroyed by NOED

Moris are balanced by their rarity and how unfun it is too use them in every game. There is nothing to change

  • Doctor already exists

  • The power sounds horrifically weak and unfun

Bella Ciao is insane, it's permanent Bloodlust 1 that doesn't get lost when you break pallets or get stunned

Second perk can't have perk levels, also horribly weak, would never be used and because of the design you can never buff it so it will always be useless

Obey is also too weak, unhook perks were never relevant and this certainly doesn't help

  • @newavitar said:

Red Moris are already an immediate loss for the killer. Mori-ing with a red one is no more than a black pip. They're fine how they are.

    Rank is worthless though

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    I'm sick of moris.

In no way comparable, you can't randomly get them during the match, you can easily tell when a killer has it, you don't keep them, you can't use offerings to increase the uses and also: unrelated to the discussion

  • It's basically like the thing that Apex Legends has, and that system is good

However to achieve proper balance there is no way around adding voicechat to the game

  • (me. I'd just make it so it doesn't heal you after being unhooked)

That's not a problem with Adrenaline, the problem is that being hooked heals you a full health state (dying -> injured) which is dumb in general

Make it so being unhooked applies Deep Wound and the problem solves itself

Considering they're cutting the grind next patch the 5% bonus is a bad suggestion now anyway.

Maybe a .5% increase of shards for every devotion level or something, something subtle but will rack up for people who play a lot.

This will snowball out of control for players who play a lot eventually. There will be less and less skins to be bought with shards to make up for that

Then again there are already too few skins to buy with shards

They obviously care about the fanbase or they'd just let the game die out. No more content. No more anything.

I'm all for bridging the gap but not by bringing solo up to swf. Just because swf can bypass the need to equip certain perks doesn't mean I want to be handed information I didn't earn.

Any penalty you add to SWF can be bypassed by leaving lobbies until you all end up in the same lobby together. Therefore the only sensible solution is to buff solo survivors to SWF levels and then nerf survivors as a whole

  • The only way to even out the powerlevel between SWF and solo is to implement the following for all survivors:

    • the last observed state of any interactable object is permanently revealed to all survivors. For example, if someone sees an armed trap somewhere then the trap becomes visible to all survivors through a global aura and stays visible even if the killer moves the trap, unless another survivors goes there and sees that the trap is gone. At that point the aura is erased. For the following: lockers, chests, traps, generators (progress, regression), totems, Plague vomit on objects, Jigsaw boxes, Plague pools
    • the last observed killer position is revealed to all survivors, if a survivor keeps looking at the killer during a chase the killer aura stays revealed for the entire duration
    • all survivor auras are revealed to each other always
    • as soon as any survivor can reliably tell that a killer has a certain perk, that perk becomes revealed to all survivors (for example, once any survivor is hit by Sloppy Butcher all survivors are told that the killer has Sloppy Butcher)
    • all perks and their state (cooldowns, ...) of all survivors are always revealed to all survivors
    • all status effects on all survivors are always revealed to all survivors

Or you could just add voicechat to the game, it would accomplish the same thing

  • @OpenYoureyes said:

(for some reason some stuff got in bold. forum glitch, didnt mean to highlight those more than the rest)

This AMA has been planned for quite a while and was originally scheduled for shortly after the 3rd anniversary, but had to be pushed back a couple times because some key people were out of office.

Back when we had originally announced that there would be no summer event, a lot of people had asked for a blood hunt. Like we said at the time, we would see what we could do.

Not everything has to be a conspiracy. Nobody's sitting here on a summer event twiddling their mustache while laughing menacingly.

The AMA was yesterday. Today you announce a bloodhunt. This question could have been answered with "There will be one as a replacement for the summer event but the specific date has not been decided yet." (or something along those lines): https://old.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/ckrt86/wearebhvraskus_anything/evpxofh/ The person who answered (not_queen) is, to my knowledge, the leader of the community management team so someone who is relatively important and someone who can reasonably be expected to know the plans for a summer event replacement. It seems very unlikely that this bloodhunt was only decided on in the last 21 hours (the age of the linked post at the time of writing), independently of the reception of the AMA. Therefore it seems like this event was only announced because people did not respond as positively to the AMA as expected

Nobody's sitting here on a summer event twiddling their mustache while laughing menacingly.

Correct, instead you are sitting on:

    • code infrastructure for the event
    • game assets for the event: hook and generator models for the event
    • skins that could easily have been the event rewards, not even necessarily all of them, one for survivor, one for killer: the Jane and Claudette skins and the Hillbilly (which even has a summer bbq theme) and Trapper skins

In other words, all the components that are needed for an event

  • @Peanits said:

There is no summer event this year, sadly. The schedule is a little bit busy with all of the upcoming features and content. There will be a double bloodpoint event coming up in lieu of the summer event. We'll share the dates for it when we've got it locked down.

"People are mad about the summer event being cancelled. What do we do?"

"Host an AMA on Reddit that doesn't include any meaningful information!"

    "People are still mad!"

"Okay just give them double bloodpoints to shut them up."

If it was announced during AMA, even without a date, just that it is upcoming, this would look not nearly as weak a move and desperate as it does now

  • One of us, one of us

Ruin is garbage against competent survivors that can hit the skillchecks or find it reliably. The rank system is a burning dumpster fire though so you can get away with running it even at high ranks

Ruin is a perk that is completely independent from your killer skill so it should get worse the higher your rank gets

It's also not very fun to use, it doesn't let you do anything new gameplay wise

  • I don't remember the exact quote or who said it but a dev argued that they are hesitant to add that because some add-ons have low numbers that however still have a big impact in the game but the numbers would make them seem weak

Nevertheless this should be added, the current system is not transparent at all

  • @pemberley said:

I would like more significant shard bonuses tbh. And every devotion level gives you 2500 shards + 1000 for every level you reach beyond 1.

A lot of recent skins don't even have a shard option so more shards would be pretty worthless

  • We still don't even have rank rewards, therefore no, never

  • @Piwatte said:

No summer event. They should be able to put the last summer event, but no they can't, that's too long for them. Or maybe because they don't know how to code a game without so many bugs, never see a game with so many bugs.

Perhaps a double-point event, I pray for that.

They are working on the battle pass system and addind new cosmetics that we have to paid only with our real money. Worst start for the third year.

3 cosmetics on 4 for this summer, 10$ one cosmetic, nice joke. I'm starting to be disappointed with this game...

The code infrastructure for the event: exists

    Art assets: offerings, objectives, exist

Skins for the event: new Trapper and Hillbilly skin and the two survivor skins exist

    The event itself: doesn't exist

    Logic

  • The summer event had been replaced by the privilege to pay into a predatory battlepasss system

  • @screamdreamsx said:

I’ve had a fair few messages playing as Pig from survivors who have SOMEHOW died to a RBT (yknow since most people get it off first try....) saying “relying on traps to get kills makes me a [bad word] killer” and I’m “using traps because it’s the only way I can get a kill” and things of the sorts. I’m sorry but, it is LITERALLY her ability? Just like cloaking is Wraith’s?

I suppose we have to forfeit our abilities and run around like M1 killers to make the crybaby survivors happy. :) That should work.

They will cry about your perks then

    Or your add-ons

    Or your offering

    Or the map

  • Considering that the AMA was announced by the devs and it is not a regular event there was no reason for it to be as worthless as it was

Most likely the thought process was "people are mad about the various issues that we refuse to address properly so lets do something that shuts them up that is very easy and cheap for us to do"

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

I see people mentioning rewarding the killer for leaving. I have a better idea. So face camping 90% of time leads to an easy kill for the person being camped. For a new player especially, as new killers camp more than veteran killers, this is extremely discouraging, and as new players, they don't have access to the so-called "survivor starting pack" of perks. However, by being camped, they are keeping the killer occupied, pulling some heat off the other survivors. Reward them for it. Distraction blood point event. The longer they're camped, the more blood points they earn.

How bout it @Peanits? That sound workable? Makes being camped less frustrating, and still allows camping to be a legitimate strategy.

That makes it much better but I still don't think it would be very effective, nothing is stopping the killer from just hitting you again

More bloodpoints are always fine as long as it's not absurd (basically anything that isn't "Get 1 million bloodpoints" is reasonable). This could become a problem though with survivors getting mad because the killer ISN'T camping: I can definitely see survivors play as toxicly as possible ("Trash killer uninstall" as name or something of the like, flashlight spam macro, constant teabag) and then flaming the killer when they get ignored or he doesn't facecamp. I will admit that this seems very unlikely but considering the absolutely idiotic things I have seen happen in this game makes it seem like it's a possibility

  • Tying stat changes to cosmetics is an interesting idea but it would break if cosmetics are ever added for him

  • @Raven014 said:

You mean: "Perks for survivors should be weaker when in SWF?"

    I agree.

This only works if you then ban people for dodging lobbies until they get in the same one as their friends to not have that disadvantage. When you then take into account that the devs don't ban for abusing exploits (Wake Up, Sprint Burst) this can never work

  • See also: game forcing a regular attack instead of a lunge but then the range isn't enough to hit

  • The suggestions here are fine balance-wise but complete design fails

Left Behind refers to a specific moment and that should be reflected in the perk

Therefore: While repairing the last generator, press the special action button (Dead Hard button) to sacrifice yourself (EGC spike) and give the generator 25%/50%/75% repair progress.

If that turns out to be too strong it can easily be tweaked: can only be used if 4 survivors are alive, only if less than 4 are alive, only if you haven't been hooked, increases repair speed by 300% instead but as soon as you stop repairing (because it's finished or the killer attacks you) you are instantly sacrificed

This achieves the intended flavor of the perk and also makes it not completely worthless

What buffs do you have in mind? I feel like with the way he is it would be hard to do without making him OP it would have to be carefully done because clown can already shut loops down ez pz

His bottles don't help with loops

You lose time while charging the throw and from reloading later so the slow doesn't even really help because you barely save time, if any

  • Yes the action block is what should be buffed in some way because that's actually cool and interesting design

He's weak right now and that's an easy way to increase his powerlevel and also skill ceiling

  • For the cosmetics

Other than that he is obviously garbage but the devs don't care because he makes them money through cosmetics, which clip (see: Pucinella outfit) but why bother fixing him when you can release more shovelware killers that only exist to sell more skins

you definitly dont understand what this game is about. this is not a esl competetive game. its a game which we play for fun. going down near basement against a lf, doesnt always mean your bad. there are many bad luck situations. also its clear that you dont play much survivor. if you see someone is getting hooked you either help him, or stick to you gen. if you stick to you gen you will noticed that this survivor wont be saved, so you go check why. and thats a big time lose. now imagine this happens to every survivor. maybe there will be 1 or maximum 2 gens done before the person dies on hook. and than lf will just do it with another survivor and so on. he will get atleast 3 if not 4k against solo survivor and thats just bad gamedesign. so i dont get why you write such nonsense if you clearly have no idea what you are talking about

Yes going down near the basement against Leatherface IS your fault. Don't go near the basement, it's impossible to carry survivors to it from every spot on every map

Checking a hook does not take long at all. You do it once, notice the killer is camping and then don't bother checking for other survivors unless you can reliably tell the killer is not near, either from the terror radius that appears near you or from another, unhooked survivor getting wounded

i dont get why you write such nonsense if you clearly have no idea what you are talking about

It appears you have accidently talked to yourself

  • @Peanits said:

It was actually bookshelves way back. I imagine pallets are a little more generic. It'd be weird to see bookshelves out in the woods or in the ironworks, but a pallet can go just about anywhere. I can't say for sure though, this was before I was around. This would be a great question to ask in the AMA this Thursday.

It'd be weird to see bookshelves out in the woods or in the ironworks

Make the skin map specific, like the hooks

I knew someone would bring up BBQ, but I expected it'd be at least an hour.

BBQ is not a built-in reward like the built-in punishments (well, punishment, really, there's a single one that keeps coming back despite being an abject failure) that keep being suggested, so it's not comparable. If survivors want built-in mechanics to punish killers for camping, then they can sure as hell come up with built-in mechanics to reward killers for not camping, since those might actually work.

BBQ is common enough to draw conclusions how a built-in mechanic would affect the game, which is to say, not a lot in regards to camping

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/604724#Comment_604724

    Also already tried.

Think of rewards for the killer to leave instead of punishments for the killer staying. Those are the ideas that haven't been tried yet, because the human default for someone not doing what you want seems to be to hit them until they do, even though all research shows that doesn't actually work.

Rewards for leaving exist, higher chance for pips but rank is worthless (technically less than worthless because ranking up is bad) and BBQ, which survivors commonly cry about

The rank system needs to stop being garbage, that would solve a lot of issues at once

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

How bout this then. Instead, make it so that a survivor's timer isn't accelerated by attempting to escape the hook while being face camped. The timer still progresses normally, but you have a better chance of just escaping. Sure, the killer can just down you, but it gives a slight chance to someone that has no chance.

Useless for legitimate situations as you already point out

Too easy to find situations to abuse it, other survivors can just loop near the hook to give you a free escape

In the end camping is not the trash, camping is the flies that are attracted by the trash. The trash being the worthless rank system that makes the consequence of camping, making it harder to rank up, irrelevant. Ideally campers would be in the ranks where the rank rewards are not awarded but those still don't exist, over 3 years since release

  • @Peanits said:

Between the two, I would probably go Ghost Face. He's anything but weak, he's above Myers right now.

If you factor survivor perks into it, the Plague ain't bad either. Head On is by far my favourite perk these days.

When you talk about the strength of killers you should emphasize that it is your own opinion and not (necessarily) supported by access to the internal stats. Unless your post is actually based on internal stats, in which case you should mention that instead. I can see "Ghost Face is trash, buff plz" "But devs confirmed Ghost Face is better than Myers" happening based on your post

    OP: Ghost Face

Plague is boring and bland to play, whether or not you get to use your power does not depend on you. Survivors just commonly don't cleanse the sickness. I don't want to start a discussion about whether or not this makes it easier to get kills with her, this is exclusively about how fun she is to play

    Also her cosmetics are meh

I have like 30 of these offerings on some killers, and I can't use them.. e_e

The game is over 3 years old, just one of the basic features that have been implemented shortly after release: the way to recycle unused offerings / add-ons to bloodpoints

Oh wait, that doesn't exist, despite the game being over 3 years old. Amazing!

  • They will announce a double bloodpoint event, act like it is some extremely generous and wonderful thing that wasn't planned long beforehand to shut up everyone up and then release their predatory garbage battlepass

    Loses it when stunned by a pallet,Hitting a survivor,Stalking

There's no change other then how the reveal mechanic works.

Uncounterable zero terror radius on a 115% speed killer is strong enough to not require you to use stalking ever

Pallet stuns are only relevant in a chase at which point the terror radius is less important anyway. Same for attacking

Also Ghost Face is fine and doesn't buffs
