All of the adepts are possible, you are just bad
-
@Spirez said:
If you rage this bad the issue is probably you not the game. It’s not healthy for your health to keep participating in this game.
No the issue is that SWF uses the rank of whoever opened the group. Thankfully that will apparently be changed soonTM
And a rank 18 killer should NEVER be matched up with any SWF because of the massive advantages they have
-

Please, don't cater towards beginner ranks any more. They've already made nearly all killers useless at rank 1.
No, you're just bad

Count the totems you have destroyed and the ones you find already destroyed
If the total is less than 5 play around NOED. No need to add a totem counter
-
Franklin's Demise is already complete trash and never worth using
It was also confirmed in a dev stream (a while ago) that the interaction between Franklin's Demise and White Ward is intentional
Deal with it
-
Survivors kept disconnecting against Nurse so they never learned how to play against her
Those who did not disconnect learned how to counter her, so eventually Nurse players could only play against survivors who knew how to play against her, which in turn let the Nurse players become even better, while the trash survivors kept disconnecting still
Now we are at a point where the survivors who never learned to counter her have exactly zero chance of winning and they also realize that disconnecting to get her nerfed isn't working. So they start crying; however those tears are what made Nurse players strong to begin with
-
Are there supposed to be 2 million pallets in the blood lodge rendering of the autohaven wreckers?
It's supposed to be balanced by the fact that the entire middle has only low cover so there is a large area where stealth is much harder to pull off
Survivor stealth however is far less common than stealth killers, who are at a disadvantage in the middle area, so for them the map is even worse

As Peanits said just some comments above, ragequits shouldn't be reported because disconnects are automatically tracked.
Then why has the report description never been updated? I find it extremely unlikely that the majority of players read the forums, therefore there are most likely many reports about rage quitting. Why has no one ever bothered to update the description?

So a mod literally tells you the information is outdated, but rather than listen to them, you'd rather give them more useless reports to trudge through, thus decreasing the overall effectiveness of the report system?
Yes
I believe rage quitting has been listed as a report reason since the report system was introduced. If they still haven't updated it after most likely getting a lot of reports for it, then I will assume that it is in fact intentional and the forum mods are wrong

You can check here what's reportable and what isn't: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest .
"Unsportsmanlike" or whatever it's called, the report button on the far right, lists rage quitting specifically as a report reason. As far as I am concerned ingame information > forum. If it's not intended to be used to report rage quits it should be removed from the description
-
Oh no, people abused a system that increased a pointless number on people's profile that did literally nothing, how horrible
-
Balancing around high rank is pointless when rank has no meaning. The only thing this accomplishes is making the game less fun for new players which is a bad thing for the health of the game overall

I disagree that it's never been a problem until now.
There are some SWF groups out there that'll have 1 person using OoO for information, which in itself is fine but if you're playing a stealth killer I think it no longer becomes fine. I used to main Wraith for a long time and these types of groups made your power almost completely useless to use, and they become such lame matches. It's an incredibly polarising perk.
It's like way back when Small Game showed bear trap auras. Sure it only worked against 1 killer, but it was deemed too strong against said killer and was changed to be multipurpose and much less precise for trap detection. I don't think something's fine just because it's not common. Just my opinion tho'.
And then of course they have flashlights, because clearly Wraith needs to have a built-in weakness
-

What's likely happening there is a SWF group. It'll use the rank of whoever started the group for matchmaking purposes.
The rank 9 started the group. The others joined. Game thinks it's rank 9 vs rank 11 which would be fine in normal circumstances. Obviously that's not proper matchmaking here because the real rank of the group is much higher and because SWF can use voicechat to get a massive advantage
-
@twistedmonkey said:
They can't do it in a one for all scenario as it is now as the majority wouldn't do well enough and the grind would be even bigger due to lack of bloodpoints.
The only feasible way it to seperate the ranks more and make it so each bracket is balanced for what it is.
Make it harder to derank from a bracket and also give decent rewards for ranking up so it's actually worthwhile.
You can never have a balanced rank system as long as SWF is allowed to exist, unless voice chat is added to the game so that advantage is removed
-
5) FIX the blooming matchmaking! Earlier today as a rank 13 kiler trying to do the Huntress throwing axe ritual (i dont play as her so not easy) I got a team with 2 red ranks 1 purple and a rank 17, all of them entered on screen one after another so I don't think it was SWF.

Really sounds like you just have a poor grasp of hag, which isn't surprising cause that's the reason she's heavily underrated. Sure a survivor will run to the next loop when they see you put a trap down but if you're zoning them you can limit the loops they can go to. You're also cutting off a loop almost immediately instead of letting them loop you before moving on. Set a trap on one side of a pallet, if they run away, congratulations you denied this loop and forced them away. This loop is also now unsafe for future chases. If they did not run, chase them around the loop and force them through the pallet, triggering the trap. Now it's a mindgame, you can predict them to run and teleport across the pallet, or you can predict them to vault and stay there to grab them. You can play similar around vaults. You can also put traps in grass on a lot of maps to better hide them or outright make them impossible to see.
With regards to them triggering traps through walls in a chase, this may shock you but when they set off a trap you don't have to teleport.
With regards to them triggering traps through walls in a chase, this may shock you but when they set off a trap you don't have to teleport.
It's always fun when a survivor drops a pallet, triggers a trap, expects me to teleport so they go back over the pallet and I grab them instead of teleporting
-
I still don't think even the old version was good enough to be run, the current iteration however is dumpster tier. Getting rewarded for protecting other survivors is a cool mechanic though
-
I get a sort of H.P. Lovecraft vibe from the Entity and all that and I would really love to see some more of those themes make into the game.
The only killer that would work from that universe is some sort of human cultist, all the monsters are either too big or don't have any usable powers. A sort of anti-Ghost-Face-power would work though, where if you look at the killer you go more and more insane. Could be to the Doctor what Ghost Face is to Myers, similar-ish powers but different enough to warrant being separate characters

They are just having fun with friends casually! Killers should serve to SWF gaming experience even thou rank system is not at all fair and can be easily misused on purpose.
Devs: "We want to make a better ranked system!"
Also devs: "Your reward for having a high rank is longer wait times to get a lobby. Oh and SWF have a massive advantage but we don't consider that for the rank system. They can also cheat the matchmaking if they want to. Have fun!"
Rank rewards should have been a much higher priority, LONG ago. Even something basic like bonus bloodpoints would be sufficient, right now there are only downsides if you rank up (= waiting longer to get a game)

The matchmaking has not changed in quite a while.
Generally speaking the game will only pair you with people are your rank and only in your region. If it cannot find enough people to fill the lobby, it will gradually expand the rank and region range until it can. In extreme instances where it cannot find a suitable lobby, you might get ranks that are out of the normal range.
What's likely happening there is a SWF group. It'll use the rank of whoever started the group for matchmaking purposes. Since there is rank-range limit for SWF groups, people who are outside of the normal expected range could end up in a lobby that they wouldn't normally be put in.

Licensing nightmare
The art style doesn't work in Dbd and without it any character from those games would look like a generic random person

If only there was a perk that let you knock keys and other items out of the survivors hands... well maybe one day they will add such a god tier perk.
PS. Killer main here and yes Franklin's is very very good regardless of if they have a key at the start or not.
It's one of the worst perks in the game

A system that bans based on how often you were reported alone is probably the only thing that could be worse than the current ban system, which is already very bad and accomplishes more or less nothing

As someone who constantly plays against insta heals I must say that I don't mind even the pink one. I'd be happier if insted of nerfing these not very important issues we rather solved the real reason why games can last for less then 7 minutes and that is lack of second objective for survivors.
Many problems of M1 killers would be solved if games lasted at least 10 minutes and hopefully more, then we can care about other less impactful problems.
Totems exist
Clearly the logical thing to do is to buff NOED by a lot to encourage survivors to destroy all the totems
NOED additionally should block all exit gates and you can mori survivors
-
NOED does the exact opposite, rewarding failure.
No, it punishes survivor failure
If the killer has NOED, you are playing against a killer with 3 perks until the generators are powered. Either you are all dying and have no time to do totems, in which case you absolutely deserve to lose because you are getting destroyed by a 3 perk killer, or you have enough time to do totems, in which case you also deserve to lose because you didn't destroy them all
You can also not do totems and play stealthy when the generators are powered and only attempt to open the gate when you know the killer isn't there to not die.
If you die to NOED, it is always your own fault because you played badly
-
@Mew said:
Honestly alls they really need to do is make ghostface immune to aura reading perks/addons in night shroud, i think thatd fix the problem.
Wraith also gets ######### by it. And Pig crouch. And any future killer with some sort of stealth ability
-
The perk needs a complete rework, it's horribly designed and bad for the game
- completely destroys any stealth killer powers
- if any survivor in SWF has it, all of the SWF survivors get the effect for free
- the correct counterplay is to tunnel anyone who has it but doing that will get you death threats spammed on your Steam profile if that is public, or in the postgame chat if you are smart and set it to private
Want to play stealthy? There's already lots of perks for that, Object Of Obsession isn't needed. Want to help other survivors in a chase, for example with flashlights? Run Bond / Empathy. Object Of Obsession isn't needed and not healthy for the game
-
No
-
NOED is the perk with the most counters by far, if you complain about it you are bad

Hello everyone, we are aware and we are looking at it.
Note: The camera shake should not be applicable when throwing an hatch but only when using her primary weapon. Our team is still in discussion on what we want to do exactly about the camera shake if it will stay like that, or maybe reduce the camera shake intensity or if we're going to remove it completely.
Thanks!
have a great day/evening
The camera shake on successful hit is good, keep it

How is that strong??? Its outside your terror radius. Just avoid vaults?
The description (on the wiki at least) is wrong.
It triggers in a 48m radius from your location, even in a chase

... absolutely ideal for EGC...? You're joking, right?
Well, I was under the assumption that they could. If they didn't ban people for obvious infractions, then I guess they can't.
With the Legion mend exploit they banned anyone who used the broken add-ons when it became common knowledge that they are bugged. They can do the same here, players who haven't used Wake Up regularly before but start using it now in every game are clearly exploiting and should be banned. This is also what they did with Legion, where people who rarely played Legion but then started using Legion a lot and just so "happened" to use the broken add-ons got the banhammer
-
Ghost Face was pretty broken on the PTB for the longest time. Why did you not delay the release and try the hotfix changes on the PTB first and then after you confirmed they are fine, release Ghost Face?

And don't forget that a SWF group can control the rank that is used for their matchmaking: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/519985/#Comment_519985
[Matchmaking for SWF will] use the rank of whoever started the group for matchmaking purposes.
Have the lowest ranked member open the group and you will get easier games.

Freddy (pre-rework) + Rancor + Save The Best For Last
Start of the game press escape, find out which survivor the obsession is playing as and hope there is only one of that particular survivor. Then never put the obsession to sleep the entire game until the end
-
Being the obsession should turn your scratch marks a different color
Other survivors can see when the obsession is in a chase (by looking at the obsession icon bottom left), which makes killer obsession perks worse; survivors might not be running any obsession perks but if you are then you are giving them an advantage
A different color for scratch marks is a minor bonus that would even out the advantage survivors get from the perks

It's a real good idea. But since a lot of killer have B&C, the 3 tokens for distortion are gone very fast sometimes. And that the killer have nurse calling isn't a guarantee as well.
You can combine Distortion with Object Of Obsession to bully Ghost Face
-
Not a surprise, as matchmaking for SWF uses the rank of whoever created the lobby https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/519985/#Comment_519985
Most likely the rank 10 opened the group and then the matchmaking loosened the rank restrictions on your end to give you a match faster, until the matchmaking decided that it's okay to match you with rank 10 players
This is obviously bullshit and shouldn't happen but it's intentional

Hello
We believe it would be simply too easy for the killer and feel unfair on the survivors side. You would be looking at the incoming survivors simply to down them instantly. This is all based on what we have see from our playtest and on the PTB.
Pig crouch, you move slower. Wraith you cannot attack. Bubba (thats something we will be looking into on his review, and you are adding a Perk). Hag is limited by Survivor actions and your number of traps. Huntress is limited by the number of hatchets. Ghost face has no limitation, except his skill of staying Stealth. It makes him very different than our other killers. Or else his Power would have been time based, which is more pressure on the Killer, and not as fun. You can still camp by staying away from the view of the hooked survivor, we have seen it done. Just dont stay right next to the hook, use strategy and you will be fine.
Btw I will report post that i feel are just insulting and not contributing to the discussion. Even thugh you dont agree, please stay polite.
Thank you!
If you can see the survivors going to the hook and stalk them, then they can see you too. If survivors are running straight for the hook against a Ghost Face without checking for him nearby, or waiting for him to attack someone else, then they deserve to get punished. Being able to reveal him when hooked or downed punishes the killer for bad plays that the survivors are making. How is that okay?
-

I don't see a claim, I see a guess. Peanits doesn't know the internal workings of the matchmaker any more than we do.
It's not worded as a guess, it's worded as factual
"What's likely happening there is a SWF group." this is a guess, but it pertains to a user getting unbalanced matchups
"It'll use the rank of whoever started the group for matchmaking purposes." this is a factual statement and what I am referring to. It's not "It MIGHT use the rank of whoever started the group" but rather "It WILL"
