  • You should edit out because calling out (suspected) hackers is against forum rules.

If you have recorded the game and made an in-game report you can make a support ticket with the video and someone will investigate that player.

    See: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules#how-to-report-a-player

  • It might have been Valve who requested that the trailer shows a young Bill, and the skin is an old Bill. As Bill is licensed and owned by Valve that is something they could request I believe, but I haven't seen confirmation that this is the case.

    This.

I think the gnome spawns are the same spots where totems can be. All the gnomes I have seen so far at least were placed on possible totem spawns. It spawns only when the endgame timer is activated and respawns a few seconds after it has been destroyed in a random spot.

Almo has repeatedly said they are half of the balance team which stands to reason there's only 2 people actually doing any changes and when it's a 50/50 split on things it's no wonder nothing or barely anything gets done. I'm sick of getting MAYBE one perk fixed every chapter and they end up adding 6 more afterwards.

I'm sick of getting MAYBE one perk fixed every chapter and they end up adding 6 more afterwards.

And most of those 6 new perks end up being horrible and never see play. All those perks then do is bloat the bloodweb to slow down the process of getting perks that you actually want.

I still can't believe how early on she died. I kind of wish she was last or second to last of the 4 lords. The middle two should have been the first two imo.

I read somewhere that Capcom didn't expect her to be as popular as she is. After playing the game I can understand that, she is extremely bland and not interesting as a character at all. Same goes for her daughters.

The most interesting thing about her is where the hell she got that giant bathtub from. The villagers can make the clothes, and I guess being a rich noble it wouldn't be weird to have all the decor for the castle made and delivered, but at some point someone from the village must have contacted an outside company to make a custom giant bathtub.

Surely someone from that company would start asking questions about why nobles in a giant castle in the middle of nowhere are ordering a giant bathtub. And why is it even bathtub, why isn't it something fancy like a whirlpool? There's a lot of gold decor on the walls, surely she can afford a super fancy luxurious whirlpool.

If she is the killer I hope we get an Archives release that focuses on the story of how she got that giant bathtub.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

I was very skeptical even before re8 came out that either of them would come to DBD but after playing the castle portion I'm much more confident it won't be any of them for a lot of reasons. Each isn't necessarily the strongest argument by themselves but collectively you do have plenty of reasons for why it won't be them

    1. Lady D's height. Yes this has been explained at length already but you have to acknowledge that she is just too tall typically. Sure they could change it maybe but we don't have any reason to believe they for sure would. Her being super tall is one of her more iconic features. It would be similar to giving Nemesis a regular human head but keeping everything else the same. It just fundamentally changes the character.

    2. Capcom would have had to lend out the content well before their game was released since BHVR has been working on this chapter for a while now. I just don't see them lending out content before their game releases for a number of reasons.

    3. Not iconic like older content.

    4. Seems very likely umbrella will be at least heavily involved given the charm which RE8 is way after Umbrella

    5. Lorewise wouldn't make sense for the daughters since they are Confined to fairly warm temperatures otherwise they would die. Yes this game isn't cannon but the devs have made it clear that they don't want to contradict fundamental parts of each character

    6. Lady D doesn't have any powers in her base form. Yes she has her claws but that's it. The only thing I could maybe see doing is having her be an m1 killer with an instadown but we already have plenty of those. Unless BHVR changed the characters power she would be very simplistic.

    7. Lady Ds second form just doesn't work straight up.

    8. The daughters power would essentially be Spirit if they had powers. They disappear and reappear mostly with bugs faulting around. People already don't like spirits power currently and I doubt BHVR would add basically the same character that already controversial.

Again, I can see a case for arguing against a few of these points but you are still left with a lot of other issues that just don't make them work in the game.

I just finished the doll portion so maybe the other bosses could work? I still have to play more to see but right now I don't see a killer coming from re8

    8. The daughters power would essentially be Spirit if they had powers. They disappear and reappear mostly with bugs faulting around. People already don't like spirits power currently and I doubt BHVR would add basically the same character that already controversial.

Plot twist: From now on there are no more new killers but only new skins for existing killers. Instead of a new killer all that's released is a new Spirit skin.

  • You need to fully infect a healthy Survivor for +1 progress. I don't think it works if they are injured when they become fully infected.

The relevant score event should be "Sickness Damage".

This problem started a year ago. Red rank survivors started to have long queues. So the matchmaking widened its search and matched them with lower ranks. Those lower rank killers either depiped more or stopped playing. Making killers more scarce. Now we reached the point were its almost normal when red rank survivors get matched against rank 17 killers.

It gets called fair, because there are also some lower rank survivors in the team. But its overall a horrible experience for new killers.

But its overall a horrible experience for new killers.

+ Levelling a killer to the point where you have good perks takes ages. Want to try a different killer? Gotta grind out the perks all over again.

Meanwhile you go up against Survivors who have more experience AND better perks than you.

  • That's probably right. This "fun rating" seems like something very obvious to show occasionally, such as "Which map has the highest / lowest rating?" (to show which map is the most / least popular), "Which Killer has the highest / lowest fun rating to play as / against?" and so on.

Because this rating has never been shown publicly I legitimately wonder if the button actually even does literally anything.

Personally I rate most games a 3, because that's the average, and I go above or below depending on the match.

No, you can't get banned. Devs said they don't ban, anti cheat doesn't check the folders were the perks are.

EAC can decide to ban for custom icons at any time. They (probably) do not do so currently, but that doesn't mean that won't ever change.

There used to be a whitelist of things that are allowed but that no longer exists (at least I can't find it). If it's not whitelisted and it interacts with the game files / folders, which custom perks do, then it's a grey area and you use it at your own risk. If EAC decides to ban for it the ban won't be reversed.

My point was about the Legion issue being 2 years ago and therefore not comparable - who knows if now the issue would have been bannable or not, impossible to say.

We are not banning for the bug with Breakdown, it's an acknowledged bug that will be fixed. It will be fixed because that's not what the perk is designed to do, nothing to do with slugging etc. And I'm definitely not painting it as a non-issue, I am very well aware of how serious our players take this particular issue.

As other people in this thread have mentioned, we also didn't ban for the bug with Tinkerer or Sloppy Butcher a while back either.

We are not banning for the bug with Breakdown, it's an acknowledged bug that will be fixed.

Technically you could skip reading the entire thread and read just that response above, but I would like to avoid being falsely accused of taking quotes out of context again as linking a post is apparently not good enough.

As using Breakdown is not bannable creating a support ticket just wastes everyone's time (the people making the tickets and the people who have to read them).

  • @ashes2asses said:

Where do I go to make a support ticket?

    Here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Pick "Additional player report information" from the dropdown.

  • Report in-game and make a support ticket where you include the video.

    See: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules#how-to-report-a-player

You should also remove the video as the name of that player is visible, which is against forum rules.

What I can see in the video doesn't look like hacking to me but rather a bug.

  • You might want to black out the names. As Breakdown isn't considered bannable showing the names of players might not be considered naming and shaming but it's probably safer for you to do so. Leaving the names uncensored could be against forum rules.

  • You probably need to contact Sony to get access to the old account. Very unlikely that the progress from another account will be matched with your current account, as there is likely no way to confirm that you own both accounts.

For general feedback, positive and negative, I believe this subforum ("Forum Feedback") is correct, but it would be nice to have confirmation.

For positive individual feedback the comment section on that moderator's profile is probably the best place, but is it allowed to post the feedback in this subforum as a thread? Some other forums have one feedback thread per moderator for example.

The same question but for negative feedback, except I am not sure if the comment section is the correct place. If posting negative feedback publicly is not allowed, then the comment section would be wrong place, as that is technically public. There is no private messaging enabled for regular forum users (to my knowledge) so that is not an option either. Where can that be posted, if it may be posted at all?

The green Hag vein thing from the battlepass does not have a head because they forgot to add it, it was added in the battlepass after. When you pick the outfit from the outfit menu button you don't get a head, and the icon is also shown shown without it.

Myers hospital gown outfit also does not have a head.

I was going to say that they likely added the head to this outfit because that way they can remove the glasses, as wearing glasses while doing some kind of fighting sport is a really bad idea and the default heads all have glasses. The only problem is that this outfit also has the glasses, so that's great.

So remember: If you are a botanist and are about to fight someone, absolutely wear your glasses and not contact lenses. The glasses will protect your eyes from the attacks of your opponents!

A bathrobe / karate outfit is very clearly appropriate for a botanist / science nerd.

If you are going to a job interview for a position that requires botany knowledge remember to dress exactly like Claudette does in that skin or you will not get the job. A blue bathrobe / karate outfit is the only appropriate thing for a botanist to wear.

Does that comparison help to highlight how utterly pathetic his skill is now?

So... basically what the Plague can do... while having a faster walk speed, and not giving a speed boost to the survivor when they get wounded by her spew?

Plague also gives them a green "vomit cloud" that helps you see Survivors hiding in dark corners and vomit sounds which bypass/ignore Iron Will.

I think the developers are trying to speedrun the "Create a Killer that is literally never played%" category.

After playing for several hours yesterday, both as and against him he's just... so weak it's sad. I can't believe the devs didn't give him large buffs before release after the PTB.

I love the voice lines and filling someone with knives but I don't know how long that novelty will last. There's a salvageable and pretty fun killer here imo but he needs a lot of buffs.

When I play against him I am never scared of him. Playing as him it just takes way too long to down people AND you have to hard commit to chases because of laceration decay. The recoil existing is pretty questionable. He's soooo slow for how many knives you have to hit. Main event feels actually detrimental to use a lot of times and it doesn't punish grouping up as hard as you would think it should.

He's soooo slow for how many knives you have to hit.

That's probably because otherwise you could run up to Survivors and just throw knives at them from close range very easily.

Of course you could also just hit them with your weapon, which would be faster than throwing knives in this situation.

  • @Viskod said:

No if they change Laceration to remove its decay it should absolutely stay on a Survivor if the Trickster reloads at a locker. The only thing that should remove Laceration stacks is a loss of a health state from the Trickster either from getting hit with that final knife or a melee swing.

One of his biggest problems is that you can catch people you're throwing knives at and hit them before you get that full Laceration meter and down them with knives, making throwing knives pointless, but you feel the obligation to commit to doing that because if you stop, then the meter decays and there was no point to even starting to throw knives at them.

If you throw some knives at someone, but the chase starts going too long you should be able to leave them to chase someone else or scare people off generators and still have that Laceration stacked.

If you throw some knives at someone, but the chase starts going too long you should be able to leave them to chase someone else or scare people off generators and still have that Laceration stacked.

I think it's dangerous to remove the stacks only when healed.

You could for example run Sloppy Butcher and Coulrophobia with A Nurse's Calling, slap everyone with your weapon, then stack knives on them and then mow everyone down once all Survivors are at high stacks. Even if you miss a lot with your knives it doesn't matter, you can just reload. That setup gives you a lot of time to prepare this strategy. The Survivors can't really do anything against that.

If they dodge your knives though or you miss because your aim is bad that strategy falls apart if the stacks are removed when you reload at a locker.

  • @Viskod said:

To me his only decent Add Ons are the one that causes Knives to ricochet, and I think at least one ricochet should be baseline. And the add on that reduces the number of Laceration stacks required by 1.

There's no reason to use any of the others if you have these two to use instead. Maybe the Piercing Add On, but only if combined with the ricochet Add On it creates a situation where a Knife can pass through a survivor, hit the wall, ricochet, and hit the survivor again adding more Laceration.

I love everything about the Trickster but playing him. I love his design, I love his perks, I love the "idea" of his power, I love all of his voice lines, everything.

But if I had to sum up his main problem in as few words as possible it would be that he's Too Slow. Everything about him is too slow, and a character like this with the backstory he has just screams speed to me. Perhaps adding stacks of Laceration to someone he's in a chase with should increase his movement speed until the chase is over or he hits them. This would fit him thematically in my opinion as it would represent his increased excitement and bloodlust from the wounds he's inflicting on his victim.

I also think instead of having Main Event, which is terrible. He should be able to spend like 20 Knives at once and "throw" them at the ground creating a trap that adds 3 Laceration when someone runs over it. The trap would persist until someone ran over it or until the Trickster reloaded at a locker.

Also Laceration shouldn't decay, at least while still in a chase with him.

Also Laceration shouldn't decay, at least while still in a chase with him.

Make it not decay but remove it completely when he reloads at a locker, or when healed. That way you can't cheese with him by getting lots of stacks on every Survivor and then mowing them down when they are grouped together. You could do that, but you would need really good aim to get high stacks on everyone and they would have to be injured.

Myers and Ghost Face can do something similar by charging their power to 99%, running up to someone and then tapping it to get an instant down. A Trickster that gets you to a point where the next knife injures you when at full health can't just run up to you for an easy instant down like Myers and Ghost Face can, it will only take you to injured. And if you are injured and at high stacks then you can be healed to prevent the Killer from running up to you minutes later and sniping you for a down.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I'd say he's the third worst from me playing only a day. He's definitely better than Trapper and Pig.

He is slower than Pig (his 110% vs. Pig 115% speed). If you play Pig without using the crouch ever then you are at an advantage over a Trickster that is not using the knives due to the higher speed. Therefore for Trickster to be equally strong or stronger you must use the knives. But anytime you hit a Survivor with knives and don't get them to the state where they take damage, i.e. you abandon the chase to go after someone else or hit them with a regular attack after hitting them with less than the required amount of knives, you have lost time. Pig causes Survivors to lose time by putting a trap on them, which you could say is a positive time gain for Pig.

Trickster loses time with his power. Pig gains time with her traps.

For Trickster to be better than Pig he needs to be able to damage Survivors faster than Pig could with her regular attacks, and do it so quickly that the time he saves by injuring with the thrown knives is greater than the time it takes for the Survivors to remove the traps.

But then you must consider that Pig has a secondary ability, the crouch, which can also be used to injure Survivors quicker than you could with regular attacks. For example sneaking up on someone working on a generator. That saves additional time over Trickster.

I'd say it's fair to say that Trickster is definitely worse than Pig.

Using his power actively feels like a hinderance at most loops. In the endgame chat they agreed at how awful this new killer was. I have had much easier time playing every other killer and even like trapper is a 115 and isnt so slow in his power that survivors can outrun you. Also his accuracy is awful. It is impossible to land knives from any form of a decent range since he throws them with such random horozontal recoil.

It is impossible to land knives from any form of a decent range since he throws them with such random horozontal recoil.

The knives have the spread of a shotgun. The problem is that a shotgun shot has multiple small projectiles, and this Killer throws one projectile at a time. If he threw multiple knives at a time then the spread of them wouldn't feel so bad.

If you can still reply to the ticket (not sure if this is possible when it's closed) then update it by replying that you request that your ticket is escalated.

Otherwise make a new ticket, explain the issue (items / currency deleted by unlinking), that your previous ticket was closed and that you request that the ticket is escalated.

Check if an old tickets is still open and update that one if it exists before making a new ticket though. Your new tickets may be closed because they are duplicates of an older, still open ticket.

But I don't want a refund. I want back my items that I legitimately purchased through their in-game store. The comment you are referring is someone who regrets buying an item on regular price and wants a refund when that item goes on sale. Not even similar in any way.

Your currency was taken away. According to the EULA they are allowed to do that. I would call the process of returning the taken currency a refund, but maybe that is wrong here.

In any case, as your currency can be removed at will, that (in addition to the no-refund policy) may be the reason support isn't doing anything.

I don't know who controls the policies, but it seems unlikely that the support staff handling the tickets is. Maybe asking for the ticket to be escalated to someone higher up (I believe the term is second-level support) yields different results.

Yeah, previously when I read here about people loosing their progression all of a sudden, I always felt nervous too. What if it would happened to me as well. Now it has, I can honestly say it sucks more than I imagined.

We are giving our real earned money alongside with our energy and work, and get this kind of treatment in return. Seeing on the tickets constantly "Sorry for the inconvenience, but we can't help you" phrase is hurtful. It is like they keep telling me to go F myself, and I keep trying to get some explanation.

The EULA says that there are no refunds. Support likely can't help you for this reason.

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there are no refunds as per our EULA, any item purchased can go on sale at any time.

    EULA: https://store.steampowered.com/eula/381210_eula_0

    Relevant section, from the EULA:

BHVR has the absolute right to regulate, discontinue, update, modify or eliminate any Virtual Goods at any time in its sole discretion and BHVR shall have no liability to you or anyone else for these actions.

Relevant section talking about refunds, I don't know if this applies to the case where your currencies are deleted by unlinking:

All purchase of Virtual Goods, whether made with “real money” or virtual currencies, are non-refundable and non-returnable and are not redeemable for any sum of money or monetary value or virtual currency from BHVR at any time.

During the Halloween cosmetic disaster everyone who bought the overpriced items could have been given free currency to make up for that, but that did not happen, because of the EULA. My guess is that the same applies here.

Once you touch the gen and scream, you should be immediately headed off of that generator, looking around for someone headed your way -- and you should be headed for a safe tile you should have scoped out before you even got onto the generator to begin with. Even a camping Wraith will have to uncloak, which should give you time to head towards that safe tile, the same way you would if you were playing against a Myers who had just reached Tier 3 or a GF who's managed to stalk you fully while you're on the gen. If you're playing against someone running Haunted Ground and being chased as the totem gets broken, you're going to be one-shot and there's about as much "counterplay" in that situation too -- is that perk OP and broken as well? 🙄

Dragon's Grip is only run in meme builds for a reason. If you know you're playing against a killer that's running it, you're going to have to be more cautious working on gens and looking for escape routes to safety if you get caught on one that's been affected. Someone on the team -- maybe you -- MIGHT be caught off guard once and downed, but after that, there's no excuse but carelessness if the killer manages to get another down with it. Since that won't be too often with a cooldown of 80 seconds at Tier 3, any killer that's spending time camping whatever gen they've kicked is going to have a short game while competent survivors will pound out gens across the map everywhere else and have an easy escape.

I play 20-25 hours of survivor a week, and I can count the number of times I've been downed by someone with Dragon's Grip on one hand with fingers left over, and I'm pretty sure that in all of those matches, DG was never a determining factor in the outcome of any of the literally hundreds of games I've played since the perk was released. While I'm a Red Rank survivor, I can promise you, I'm not that good -- it's the perk that is mediocre, and that's being kind. Of all of the things that people should be concerned with from a survivor standpoint, this niche perk with limited effectiveness is simply NOT one of them.

ETA: I almost forgot to mention the short 30 second activation period the perk has after kicking the generator to begin with. The idea that survivors have to ignore every regressing generator across the map because of this perk would be absurd. Largely, the only people who are going to be affected are people who jump right back onto a gen the second a killer has left after kicking it -- if you're coming across a gen regressing on the map somewhere, it's almost certain that the 30 seconds have elapsed and you won't be exposed (and the perk is probably on cooldown).

The Wraith can start uncloaking (silently, due to the add-on) before you touch the generator, while you are heading to it. If timed properly you will have minimal time to react to the scream and then you are downed. The problem is this specific situation, where you can't do anything except go down.

Intentionally creating such a situation is, as I already pointed out, a bad strategy for the Killer player, and also not common, but it can be done and it's not very fun for the Survivor players. That's the entire problem. The problem is almost certainly not big enough to warrant changes to either Wraith or Dragon's Grip, but it's still worth pointing out that.

If you're dying regularly to Dragon's Grip, then either:

    1) You're somehow regularly facing the only ten people in the world who actually run the perk on a regular basis for all of your matches, and

    2) You probably need to work on your survivor gameplay. Like ... a lot, lol.

Somewhat entertaining, as always -- though, at some point the OP is going to need to adapt and expand their range, lest these threads become tedious, lazy, and unimaginative. You don't want to become the Adam Sandler of thread content here, lol.

    1) You're somehow regularly facing the only ten people in the world who actually run the perk on a regular basis for all of your matches, and

It doesn't really matter how often it is used if it creates unfun / uncounterable situations when it does get used.

    2) You probably need to work on your survivor gameplay. Like ... a lot, lol.

Please explain what the counter against a Wraith with the silent uncloak add-on with Dragon's Grip is. You don't know that the generator you are going to repair has the effect of Dragon's Grip on it. You can't just ignore every regressing generator you come across, which is the only guaranteed way that you can avoid Dragon's Grip. Eventually you are going to touch a generator that has Dragon's Grip on it and then downed immediately by the killer who was uncloaking silently near the generator as soon as they saw you going to it.

Is it a terrible game plan for the killer to do this? Yes. Is it rare for this to happen? Also yes. But that doesn't really matter overall if it creates unfun situations for the Survivor players. OP is just pointing out that you can't really do much against this specific setup.

Its gonna be funny when killers think they see a survivor working on a gen then they get hit by DS cuz the survivor was just pretending.

That's actually a much cooler and much more interesting situation than anything you can do with the current version of DS.

It relates to the law other countries have. Each country has different kind of laws, specifically around gambling laws. https://deadbydaylight.com/en/contest-rules < This is the link to the general contets-rules at all times. It is possible that depending on which kind of contest it is, it requires changes and adjustments in which countries can participate.

It has been checked and the decision in regards of legal reasons.

But why was it changed from "The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law." in previous years to a list of specific countries that are allowed?

I don't think you can stop people from countries other than the ones that are listed from sending participating, and my guess is that there would only be a legal problem if you pick someone from a county that's not allowed to participate due to local laws as the winners. Which means in the end the countries of the winners need to be verified. But the problem of verification exists with both versions of the rules, the old and the new one, but this new version excludes a lot more countries.

What's up with the complaints about perks like BBQ. As a survivor main I don't have a problem most of them.

Everyone uses BBQ because there is no other perk that you could use instead that would give you more bloodpoints.

Good killers use BBQ, because everyone is using it. Survivors get destroyed by good killers. See that every good killer uses BBQ, but the other perks are generally more varied. Therefore they assume that because every good killer uses BBQ that the reason the killer is winning is because of BBQ.

It’s not wrong, devs have literally said themselves it’s holding the game hostage.

It's not holding the game hostage.

Please provide a source for your claim that a developer has said it is.
