Then they should be looking at better internet provider then? Yes?
It's not the ISP, it's the server connection. Someone could have gigabit fibre and still get dropped because they don't live close enough to the servers.

Nope. The decay timer is extremely punishing, meaning someone losing connection once a day due to distance to there servers will inevitably get the maximum ban even though they play 15 trials a day or whatever.
-
I wonder whose alt account this is.
-
So you're ragequitting the trial because you don't like the killer even though there's a pretty good chance you could win due to skill disparity and gen speeds? And you think that's the proper way to go about things?

Her hitboxes are a problem but they don't make her magically easy to play. She still requires practice and effort.

Without Bamboozle good survivor can loop you for minutes at T/L wall. With Bamboozle just vault one window and survivor gets caught. I've been being chased many times against Bubba without Bamboozle and they quit chasing or spent too much time at T/L wall. Good for you if you can down them easily. Maybe they aren't that good survivors.
Um, LT walls are one of the weakest tiles against Bubba. The survivors, at the absolute worst, have to consistently win 50/50 mindgames, and that's assuming the bubba doesn't know much about their power. I was more talking about jungle gyms and 4-wall tiles.
-
@Torsti56 said:
I run usually BBQ, Pop Bamboozle & Infectious. Very high snowball potential and Bamboozle plays windows out which are kryptonite to Bubba.
Nah, windows are playable, Bamboozle just makes the killer way easier because playing windows as Bubba is like playing Spirit without Stridor and a good headset. Perfectly doable, but why bother?
-
Bamboozle, Infectious Fright, Corrupt Intervention, Whispers.

It's not a perk that's to be used by itself as a primary source of healing. It goes with other perks or acts as a healing top-up from medkits or other players.

They might have been playing hide and seek.

They're probably being an arsehole because you're using stealth perks. Just ignore them.

Gotta be honest, that sounds awful. No offense, but this is why I used the word "good."
The truth is that everyone would love an exciting new game mode, including the devs. The problem is that despite hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of combined thought on the subject, no "good" gamemodes have been put forth.
I thought it was pretty good basis for a game mode. You simply either don't understand the concept of personal preference and/or subjective enjoyment or you're trying to start a fight.
-
My dream chapter would be either Hellblazer or an occult-detective-horror chapter. They've already hinted at it with Elodie and Felix.
Demonic supernatural killer, abandoned building map, and an occultist survivor that's preferably a blonde brit with a chainsmoking habit and a tan trench coat.
-
Yes, make them for the killer they came out with! I wanna see Adam in a saucy bandage number and Kate dresses up like an overweight clown!
-
He does very well at every loop, it's just that... Slinger plays Maze Tiles quicker, Huntress snowballs better, Plague has a better power spike, etc.
His strength comes from being a jack of all trades, but that's not really much of a strength in DbD. He has a hard cap on chase times of around 30-40 seconds, but that's also his floor. He can only get truly quick downs in open area's.
He is, all in all, a very average killer with nothing remarkable about him except how average he is.
-
Trickster requires very good aim and mechanical skill for a very average reward that multiple killers do better. Deathslinger and PH have a better uncounterable chase. Huntress has more impactful and interactive shots. Plague (or even Oni) has a better power spike.
-
2016 DbD when I first started watching DbD content.
-
Please no. This game has a very delicate balance and it's not fun to be uncounterably screwed over so hard you lose through no fault of your own.
-
It sounds like maybe you need to go play killer. Especially since there's so few hackers in this game.
Edit: Also, there's no bots. Except in DbD mobile, but that's a completely different game.

the... the really arrogant ones are the exact type we're describing, aren't we? the ones that play super optimally and won't settle for anything less than a 0k?
and yeah, i know trapper is free gens. my games start at 3 gens, sometimes they start at 2 or 1 gen remaining lmao. that's just the nature of the beast, but i've gotta do my prep, y'know?
i can see why you say the things you do as a plague main though. she is just... oof. it's so easy for every plate she's spinning to just fall all at once and cowshed in particular is really prone to that.
No, you're confusing arrogant with good. Arrogant survivors will blindly step on a trap because they're too busry looking at you.
And, no, Plague is one of the strongest killers in the game and she suffers on cowshed the least of any killer except Spirit or Nurse. Or perhaos Demogorgon now that Barbs Glasses exist. You clearly do not understand where I'm coming from - I'm not a killer main.
I'm going to go ahead and return to the fact that you think kicking and patrolling gens is an effective strategy - it's not, that's exactly what survivors want you to do. You're not only wasting time, you're giving free gen time that isn't recouped by your power or gameplay. That kind of playstyle leads to gens being finished in 3 minutes.

ok. this is where we get into the nitty gritty of "what killer are you playing?".
because for me, it's usually trapper. 3 gens have already gone, and the last 4 all have traps around them.
so yes, i'm kicking the generator, because by the time i'm done i'm going to hear a scream, and i'm going to calmly walk over and collect my survivor from the returns bin.
what killer are you playing?
I'm sorry to have to break it to you, but this has very little to do with specific killers. And especially not Trapper, you aren't catching anyone but really bad or really arrogant survivors on that map. His traps are extremely visible no matter where you put them, and on top of that you have to take the time to place them, which is free gens.
However, to humour you, I'm mostly playing Survivor on that map, that's for some reason a map I get sent to a lot. I'm also a Plague main, a former Blight main, and I played a lot of Trapper on the last few months. Mostly with padded jaws and no bag.
-
Gameplay and que times.
-
It's actually still abusable, not that it comes up that often (kind of like the last Nurse nerf, they made it much harder to abuse and so now no-one really tries. Which I am fine with, at least for the moment).
Mostly it just deactivates because the Devs haven't changed any other aspect. They're probably taking the time to see how the nerf effects stats. It would be nice if it didn't have a timer and wasn't a single-use perk.
-
I play both.
I don't know what a "good sport" is any more because being a "good sport" doesn't mean "letting your opponents win when your only option is to play dirty", but I certainly don't badmouth people on the chat unless it's to call something out. Like lagswitching or my Tinkerer proccing 1 second before a gen finishes multiple times in a trial (hmm).
I don't care about Prestige, it does nothing and at this point it never should. People who prestige knew what they were getting when they did it. I definitely max out perks on the characters Inplay and am slowly working my way towards all perks on all killers (already have all survivor perks on Zarina and am slowly getting there with Kate and Yui).
Of course I get tilted. I'm fairly certain everyone gets tilted. It doesn't happen that often, though, and its mostly when I'm caught by surprise with extremely broken RNG (massive tile chains, complete deadzones, etc.)
I buy some cosmetics. Mostly I save up and use shards on them (I actually like most of the yellow-tier recolours), but I have been known to purchase paid ones.

push survivor off gen -> kick gen -> make them drop pallet -> kick pallet -> go to other gen
repeat until you've taken out 3 or 4 pallets. maybe gotten in a hit or two.
after that, then you can chase to your black little heart's content, because they won't have any more chain to chain.
i swear. if the game really is the way you describe, then rank 1 killers can't exist, because they physically won't be capable of killing the survivors. tournaments wouldn't have any kills in them at all. and yet, they do! so, please explain to me how tournament level survivors still die.
That is not how that map works. The fact that you even think kicking a gen... I'm sorry, but do you undersrand the concept of map pressure and pallet density?
If you play like that against any team that knows what they are doing, you lose. Hands down, no exceptions. You're kicking gens, for ######### sakes, that doesn't work outside of rank 10. Doesn't matter what map it is, but it especially doesn't work on Cowshed. There are too many strong loops all clustered together. It takes more than a minute to get 3-4 pallets in one little area just because the loops are simple and chainable, and once those pallets are gone there's still another 4 within running distance.
You want to patrol gens until the pallets are gone? That doesn't work on any map, not unless the survivors are some kind of potato-powered bots that finish than a gen a minute. You have no map pressure and they can hold W. Except on Cowshed they don't need to because there's still loops everywhere.
Maze tile into path pallet into shack into path pallet into maze tile into two junk tiles, and in the centre there's a Cow Tree that's always reachable that chains into a hay/junk tile that chains into another junk tile and also both into Cowshed itself that usually has a path pallet that chains into another maze tile that always chains into at least one but usually 2 strong filler pallets that chain back into the first maze tile and I haven't even touched the last corner yet, where there is another filler pallet or two that chain into a maze tile and often that maze tile chains into either a filler pallet or a path pallet back into Cowshed.
-
It actually bis pretty realistic when you factor in survivors not being completely stupid and actually leaving the generator to go to a loop.
No, actually, you're right. In a realistic scenario survivors would have a much easier time of it because instead of starting at the centre of the chain and only being able to effectively run half of it, they would start at the edge of the chain and work their way through the whole thing no matter how hard the killer tries to zone them.
Congrats. You have opened my eyes to how killer-favoured the 1v1 meme is. That really is the best case scenario for a killer on cowshed: the survivors starting on Shack and having to cut themselves off from half the map.
-
I use Ruin/Undying and snowball. But that's kind of Plague's strength.
-
I actually have no idea because exchange rates are not equal to price differences (especially for NZ) but I think this is pretty close.
-
OH MY GODS SOMEONE ELSE ACTUALLY HAS A CLUE ABOUT HOW TO PLAY TRICKSTER WHAT EVEN IS THIS I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE also I hate him because he's boring and one dimensional because that's his strongest play and it's effective at literally every tile. I though I'd found my new main but his skill cap is purely mechanical.

Honest question - don't take offense - but why do so many people watch these DBD streamers instead of just playing the game themselves? To each their own, I'm not saying it's "bad", I just never understood why someone who's interested in a game would rather just watch someone else play it when they could be having the fun instead.
Because watching streamers is both entertaining background as I'm doing something else, and it's made me extremely knowledgeable about the mechanics of the game. Thanks to streamers and content creators I pick up most of the older killers very quickly because I know the theory behind them. And, as I said, it's nice to have something in the background.

Agree with this, when playing against Oni I try to delay that first hit for as long as possible so don't greed pallets etc - earlier dropping denies him his power and the more generators done within that time, the better.
I'll disagree that Oni is like "old Billy" as Oni doesn't have his power on command but he has to earn it, I think he's pretty balanced due to that. Also, it's possible to dodge him when he's in his power.
I love playing against Oni tbh, I find him a fun killer to play against plus there's outplay to him.
I also love that he is the only killer in the game that makes me scared when I see him at the end of a hallway.
Bonus points if he immediately roars.

Safe survivors means no gens getting done. Win for Oni
What? That is precisely the opposite of what happens when survivors predrop pallets. Like... Seriously, you really need to see a good team playing against Oni. Or any m1 killer.

@Clünge said:

Oni just needs to swipe one person and follow them for a very short while
Yeah, which he can't do if the survivors are playing safe. It's literally his number one most important bit of counterplay.
-
@Clünge said:
He certainly earns his power far too easily compared to someone like Myers
Oni is hard countered by predropping pallets. Myers just has to stare for a bit.
-
The only way to get a remotely accurate MMR is with an extremely complex and in-depth system that takes everything into account, from perks, SWF status and killer, to map layouts, cosmetic items and chase-to-gen ratio. And it would have to take into account how all of these and everything I couldn't be bothered to list interacts with one another, for example the fact that bright clothes on Hawkins aren't as detrimental as on Yamaoka.

Those all go.hand in hand. Leathatatly leads to map pressure
Not if the survivors have a brain and/or just slam gens. There's a reason Bubba isn't competing with Nurse.

It's a lot more fun to win the few matches you get to play than forcibly lengthen a match and possibly lose it all the while the match being boring because you're forcing it's length.
Is it? I don't see the point of playing if I'm not going to be able to... Well, to play the game. What's the point of winning if your opponents cannot physically stop you? What possible resistance is being overcome when even Nurse wouldn't be adequate? It's like deranking to bully babies as a killer, I just don't get it.
-
I'm confused, are you saying that 10 minutes is a short trial length or are you talking about the absolutely broken and uncounterable playstyle that forces killers to play Nurse, Spirit or Blight in order to stand a chance (assuming that the survivors make multiple key mistakes over the course of the 4-minute trial with 3-minute gens)?
-
@th3 said:
Or maybe it just shows that decisive was not as common as killers complained about it and it didn’t even help more than half of survivors running it to escape.
Kinda deflates the killer argument that decisive was like a free win and was in every game.
Independantly gathered data showed DS being used consistently in 30-40% of builds at red ranks, so it's pretty clear that the stats are taking everything into account.
Edit: like, everything. Solo que, low ranks, people that aren't abusing the perk, etc.
-
I just love that the stats show it wasn't actually necessary to be able to do whatever you want with total impunity for 60 seconds.
Who would have thought? Certainly not everyone who didn't abuse DS, oh no, we clearly weren't saying for years that it was simply a lazy, obnoxious thing to do.
-
Tearing through teams that heavily underestimate the killer I'm playing and genuinely attempt to bully.
-
Um, Tricksters weakness isn't his chase, it's his lack of map pressure and lethality. Sorry to break it to you, but if survivors are taking longer than a minute to go down on any map regardless of their skill or setup, you're in need of practice.
-
The disparity between totem spawns is so stupid. I get wanting to stick with the whole "high-risk, high-reward" aspect but the simple fact is that totems are still high risk on Dead Dawg or Lery's.

"Current" is a continuously-updating status, grammatically speaking. If I say "current," it never means anything from the past or the future. So, saying "current location for 6 seconds" LITERALLY means, according to the English language, an ongoing updated status of the present, for 6 seconds.
Current.
4 seconds into the perk, the old location is no longer "current".
Lol...
WHY IS THIS NOT ABSORBING??? IT'S LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!!
----
And NOBODY in the entire thread said anything about changing the perk...
You are wrong. The perk description says it causes them to scream and reveals their current location for six seconds. That doesn't mean it constantly updates the ping, it simply means their current location at the time of activation was revealed.
If it says it's tracking their current location for a specified or unspecified amount of time, that means the ping is constantly updating, because it is actively tracking them. However, that extremely key word is not on the description, meaning you are basing your entire argument on lazy speech patterns or simply on the fact that language is constantly changing and this is a microdifference between our two dialects, or more specifically the dialect of English spoken by the Devs and the dialect you speak.
-
Getting paranoid about perks.
