  • You're going to need an apple or two. I'd bring an Apple and Vile Emetic, which is essentially an early-game instadown or two followed by Corrupt Purge for points. Snowball hard and early then milk the survivors for all they're worth.

Not really there's no point of cleansing smart plague infects gens and if I cleanse I can't do gens otherwise I'm getting injured before 30% of gen progress I'll rather stay injured unlike them who did cleansing simulator and did nothing for being afraid of touching gens to get injured again

I'm sorry, a smart Plague will play poorly? Thats a very interesting notion.

Maybe listen to the girl who has been playing her since release and only interrupted having her as a main because of now-resolved latency issues. You. Should. Have. Cleansed.

A power reset is hell for a Plague. It sets her back to square one. And most Plague's don't know how to avoid it because most Plague's only play her for challege's and dailies. Your rigidity and insistence that everyone adopt your playstyle despite a complete lack of communication was a major contributing factor to your team's deaths. I don't even have to see the trial to understand that. You need to be more flexible and not stick to a strategy just because it works in one situation.

If your team is cleansing, you should do the same. Plague isn't the same killer she was a year ago. A good Plague can even force survivors to cleanse just because they will lose if they don't because they need a healthy person to tank a hit. What will you do then? Come to the forums and complain?

Except that Blood Echo IS a hard counter to exhaustion, especially in combination with Mindbreaker. Besides, you didnt say "hard counter perks", you said "counter perks".

Please use language properly, it will make your life so much easier.

First of all, holy necro. Second of all, Blood Echo is a terrible perk that counters nothing most of the time, and those few times it actually works... it also does nothing because exhaustion perks aren't even remotely necessary and your average survivor just won't take so many risks and thus won't need an exhaustion perk anyway, though they can still use it at multiple other points of the trial because anti-Exhaustion perks are ######### terrible.

The plague starts the trial with one active fountain and can bring up to 2 more through add-ons, the big take away you should learn from this is you can't control others or their actions only your own.

By sticking to your never cleanse strat you were always injured so you going in for a safe unhook was never an option and the fountains were never reset to rob the killer of her power, the single biggest contribution you could have made.

By not adjusting You left your team to play a 3 v killer

A very good explaination. Plague is one of the killers where the players have to be extremely adaptable, both the killer and the survivors.

I never cleanse against plague until pool resets she can pick power 3 times enough to stomp whole squad like the one I got matched with

Speaking as a Plague main, you really, really should have cleansed. It would have both contributed towards a power reset and enabled you to be more involved with the rest of your team. Very few Plagues are good enough or experienced enough to know what to do in such a situation.

  • You should have cleansed. Forcing a fountain reset is much better than staying sick, injured, easily trackable and having to avoid everyone.

The issue is that survivors can elongate chases with him easily it doesn't matter if you go down if you take a long ass time to do so that's how survivors counter him. The reasons a trickster is not going to give up a chase is that any other survivor can elongate chases with him to an unreasonable extent and knives decay + how he's a good camper + how players usually heal against him and the rate he can injure cant keep up to make it worth it.

Trickster is in the same situation doctor would be in if he was garbo because assuming a docter times his shocks and throws it out every time you enter most loops you WILL eventually get hit because you cant counter him making tiny bits of distance or taking away your ability to drop (assuming you are not out of shock range and predrop which is often not worth it) if he shocked at every opportunity or a pyramid head just sword in ground waiting for you to lock yourself in a animation. Just because trickster share the attribute with these killers in the sence he will eventually down (on the basis he is hitting knives, with some players this just needs to be said lol) you doesn't make him any good because even compared to fairer, not worse just fairer, killers to play against most the time in most games this doesn't matter because as much as people think they are against seal team 6 they are not but hes still one of the weakest killers in the game in contention for weakest because they only thing that matter in measuring how good a killer is, is how time efficient they can be.

This is why even if hes potentially not the weakest killer he is still just weak, his bad design is not making him much better tho.

That being said you can still do well with him against almost all players and i dont think there's some massive problem with him that needs changing and i don't want a rework as he can actually be chill to turn off and play, although I see his release as a bit of a bottlejob, but i just cant call him not weak.

I wouldn't call 40 seconds a particularly long chase. His biggest weakness is that he doesn't really have short ones, either.

  • Sometimes I might throw on some Ice Nine Kills (horror-themed lyrics) and play Freddy to farm BP.

  • No, because it's not that great a perk to begin with and a good Plague will borderline force people to cleanse.

Blood Echo is a perk that destroys crutch-reliant players and doesn't really do much against the good ones that don't use Exhaustion as a crutch (which isn't to say they don't use Exhaustion perks, they probably do, it's just that they know how to play without relying on them).

It's kind of like the Thanatophobia question, and it has the same answer: Plague shows off how weak it really is.

The same way you dodge huntress hatchets and deathslinger harpoon shots. they don't turn corners faster, they turn corner slower but don't take damage. even if they do take damage, its still not as punishing as other range killers. that's whole point for why he's weak, he gets just as many chances to take shots, but his shots deal 1/8 damage. there has to some kind of advantage to playing this killer over other ranged killers but there just currently isn't and your promoting him as if he has "significant" advantages that make make "good".

You don't dodge hatchets or harpoons, the killer misses their shot. There is a huge difference.

Yea then i am worst Trickster in DbD then. Because i can not play good with this killer. I am good as Freddy, Leatherface, Wraith, Doctor, Pyramid Head etc.

But Trickster is my problem. I am bad as Nurse too but because i am learning her. She has different mechanics. But Trickster has not different gameplay. But i am so bad as him. And i do not think, that because of me. Because survivors can loop him so easly. I just wanna play more as him, i paid for him first day but i never get fun as him.

You know what? I find Trickter miserable to play as. He's so boring. His counterplay is basically genrushing. Survivors cannot loop me, they cannot pull of little mindgame's or anything, because in 30-40 seconds they're down, and that's assuming I found them in a chained maze tile set.

If you have good aim, as in you aren't missing many knives at all, then Trickter is fine. You're just massively overthinking him, he is so deceptively simple that it's hard to explain how stupidly you should be playing in order to do well with him.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

all the survivors have to do is side-step the 2-3 knives he throws at each corner. for killer you claim that survivors helpless vs, he sure has some of longest chases.

How the ######### are they going to sidestep the knives? They can't turn a corner any faster. Trying to "sidestep" anything is going to make them take even more knives than they had to.

I less you're assuming the Trickter has terrible aim, which... no. Just no.

How lol? Kate get new ourfit to store months ago. Dwights getting new outfits so much. Is anyone saying anything. I wanted new outfit for Kate and i am greedy for that? I did not say do not get new outfit for others, i just wanted new clothes for my Kate.

Kate literally has a new outfit. You just said you already have it. And you want another one already.

  • Yeah, all the time. I do a lot of typing all day, so controllers are my go-to gaming input because they're way more comfortable.

  • Yeah, but mostly I check friends lists. I'm always curious to see how much SWF was in a team and, although its not accurate now that crossplay is a thing, it's still nice to know.

Edit: it's also a thing I do as survivor, which is why I'm fairly certain I get matched with an uncommonly high number of 3-person teams.

I already got this. I am asking for store outfit (with shards or gold)

Then you're being a bit greedy, there's a whole cast that also deserve outfits.

  • He's not weak. You're overthinking him and playing him like an m1 killer or Huntress.

You do not ever m1 healthy people. You do not ever mindgame. You do not do anything but walk at people and throw knives. You chase them with knives, you injure them with knives, knives are your life.

You do need to learn his timings. You do need to be a very good shot. Jungle gyms and main buildings are his only counterplay and you can still down survivors there much quicker than an m1 killer no matter how good they are. You just learn when to ready your knives and throw them as you are turning corners.

  • I got sent down to rank 7 killer and it's... An experience.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

You must be really good then.

Because I learned Nurse from a forum member on here. That was years ago.

I'm not, actually. That's how I know she's so damn easy. All it takes is basic blinking knowledge and she shreds through just about every team. The same cannot be said for any of the other killers I mentioned.

It's just that people think a sharp learning curve makes a character difficult. Then they ignore what happens when someone is past that initial learning curve.

  • My own experience playing Nurse.

Edit: And also playing all of these killers and talking to Nurse mains. But mostly my own experience, the Nurse mains didn't open up to me til they saw me on the forums calling out Nurse.

Actually he is slower than huntress because you have to aim his knifes on more occasions. So he gets slowed down longer than huntress and deathslinger. So it can be hard vs decent loopers who go into the shack, or even basic jungle gyms, since you have to aim a lot. Overall he is definitely the weakest killer in the game at the moment since you have to get 8 knifes into survivors. So they should do something about the laceration in my opinion, or make it 4 knifes to injure and keep at 8 to down someone, and reduce his knifes to 40.

    See my above comment.

  • @Skyost_AB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2195772#Comment_2195772

Dude the point of the power is to literally spam the knives, not to have surgical precision while doing it, there's no penalization for missing a knife or 2, unless you are out there downing 1 survivor with 40 knives or using death throes. Having to land 8 of those knives is still a long job, specially around high walls, you go slower than survivors. The point is to first wound a survivor with your knives and inmediately go for the m1 if they reach the jungle, otherwise the speed boost will make you lose them. I don't get with what kind of survivors it's a good idea not to mindgame at a high wall loop, as any killer, i really think you are speaking of rank 12 survivors

And right here is where you show your inexperience.

What you do at high-wall tiles as Trickter is ready your knives as you are turning corners and throwing them as the survivor is ahead of you turning their corner. You have to be extremely precise, because you only have the opportunity to land 2 knives, but if you do then that's 4 corner turns, or about 15 seconds, before they have a health state stripped away. If they try to leave the loop, you barrage them. If they take a window or pallet, you barrage them. Each of those barrages, if you are precise enough, is 4-5 knives depending on your distance. If you time your knives right, you don't lose enough distance for it to matter, though if you keep missing or only landing a single knife then you loose too much distance and you have to do a half-circuit without attacking to catch up.

Going for mindgames is wasting your own time.

Edit: I know I'm coming off like an absolute #########, but I'm tired of people calling high walls counterplay. I discovered this playstyle on my first day when I wanted to switch my brain off and practice my aim.

  • @Nebula said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2195768#Comment_2195768

If you're going to argue that Deathslinger requires precise aim, how does that not apply to Nurse?

Deathslingers power is 20x easier to use than Nurses, you literally aim and shoot. If the survivor is dodging you wait for him to dodge back into your shot and shoot. Nurse you actually have to know the precise distance of every blink and where exactly to go, way more difficult than Deathslingers power.

And you're making Plague sound way harder to use than she is, being amazing at M1 play is a basic for almost every killer in the game, and her corrupt purge is not as hard to aim as many people say it is, you just aim ahead or spray it.

You may have carry over skills from shooters, but most people don't.

To put it simply, Deathslinger requires far more accuracy than Nurse. Nurse, because her hit is always an m1, effectively has a massive projectile that's much easier to aim and doesn't require knowledge of the exact centre of her screen, whereas Deathslinger has a wee pinprick that takes ages to consistently land shots with.

And the fact that you think spray-n-pray is Plagues playstyle shows how much you have to learn. I use her to complete with Deathsquads, can you say the same? If so, you're probably a natural and just don't know it, in which case I'm extremely jealous.

Sorry to break it to you man, but if people who are like robots running the loop against a normal killer, running in a straight line, or looking behind them with a obvious read that they are going to double back are good, then you don't know survivors who are good at running nurse do.

Sorry to break it to you, but I don't go against those kinds of potatoes very often.

  • @Skyost_AB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2195739#Comment_2195739

That reach is longer than his knives range. Good aim isnt even a necessary ability to play trickster, if you have it good, but you have 60 knives so you can fail as much as you want. Also, if you use his m2 the whole game you are going way slower than a nurse, making you basically loose every chase. You are either a trickster at rank 12 or a survivor who is mad because he can't dodge.

The fact that you think both that missing knives is okay and that I was meaning never letting go of your M2 button shows how much you have to learn about mindless stab stab.

  • @Nebula said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2195746#Comment_2195746

Nurse is not harder than any of those killers

Billy and Oni maybe, because their power takes more skill than a majority of the cast, but to say that Deathslinger and Plague are harder than Nurse? Deathslingers one of the simplest killers in the game with some cool mechanics because of his tiny spear hitbox and Plague is the opposite of complex as well; you spit on survivor, they get broken, you basic attack, repeat. If they cleanse you drink the pool and end chases in 20 seconds.

Deathslinger requires extremely precise aim and game knowledge, something that only comes with far more practice than Nurse. And Plague is easy to get into, not to play well. She's the opposite of Nurse. You need to be good at absolutely everything, her tactics, her mechanics, adjusting plans on the fly, taking in information from the corner of your eye, being amazing at m1 play, being amazing at using Corrupt Purge, reading survivors and adjusing to them and how they cleanse, because unlike most killers she actually can win.

Nurse just learns how to not miss too much and not be an idiot. A bit of non-precise mechanical skill and basic game knowledge and she steamrolls everyone but deathsquads.

Edit: looking at your description of Plague gameplay is painful. You must either lose a lot or go agaisnt really bad survivors.

  • Best as in strongest? Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Hag.

Best as in most rewarding to learn and play? Blight, Plague, Oni, Huntress.

Trickster is good when you have meta perks. Without meta perks going against a SWF or good survivors, you will lose

Name any killer that isn't like that.

Freddy, for example. Take off the meta perks and he's absolutely garbage. Always has been. One of the worst killers I'm the game. But his meta exists and it makes him insanely strong.

A couple of hours ? Come on now lol. If there's one thing people say is true about DBD. Its that nurse takes a hell of a lot of time to play competently and consistently

Nope. Not true at all. Deathslinger, Plague, Billy, Huntress, Oni, and maybe even Twins are much harder than her. It's just that she has the most difficult initial learning curve, so people automatically assume she's overall super difficult.

The hardest things to learn about Nurse are indoor maps and blink flicks. But indoor maps are super rare and I'm All Ears exists, and blink flicks are mostly just fancy.

  • @Sup3rCatTree said:

Completely ignoring the rest of the post but How are trapper and clown as bad as trickster?

Because Trickter isn't actually bad, people just absolutely suck at him and take ques from Otz and co. All you need is a good aim and to learn his timings and a god survivor at a long-wall jungle gym will go down in 40 seconds, assuming you had never hit them with knives til they reached the jungle gym and they're at full health. Plus he tears through survivors in the open. Basically, always use knives and never m1 or mindgame and he's basically a weaker Slinger with the slight counterplay of running circles around high walls.

    Weak killers can't claim that.

  • 4.4 and 4.6 speed has nothing whatsoever to do with map mobility. It's pure placebo. It takes Huntress about 5 seconds longer than Trapper to get from one side of the map to the other.

Edit: Also, if you're getting screwed over by any single tile ever, you're not playing Trickter right. Don't mindgame. Don't be fancy. Hold W and learn the timings of when to ready his knives and every corner you turn will be another knife or two. The only time tiles really become problematic is when it's Suffocation Pit.

  • I don't find Nurse to be all that different form Spirit because she has no counterplay, you're just banking on the Nurse not being good. People also massively overestimate how much practice it takes to be a good Nurse - give it a couple of hours and you'll be mowing down even the best survivors, so long as you also understand that only bad Nurses try and predict the survivors movement, go for 1-blink hits, and let survivors break LoS to mindgame them.

Playing against a Nurse is just hoping that the Nurse is a potato who doesn't understand how to blink. There's no real difference. It's not that hard to be a good Nurse. And even if you are going against a bad Nurse, chances are your teammates aren't familiar with bad Nurse counterplay and you're still going to lose.

Knowing what to do to get easier enemies doesn´t mean they nerf themselves. For example, the system could check failed skill checks. So you fail them on purpose but are otherwise untouchable, because you know how to loop the killer.

Or you could let yourself get downed in 10 seconds on the first hook. So the system thinks you are bad. But from there on you won´t go on the hook again.

A transparent system would be abused.

And dataminers are probably going to expose how the system works anyway, which is why it would be better for it to be transparent because at least then we won't have an uproar in 18 months about how the system basically does nothing but kills/ecapes tracking and the Devs only hid it to be lazy.

  • His limit on chase time and ability to shred through survivors in the open put him somewhere between B and C imo. But it's kind of hard to place killers these days, so many have received buffs that the A and B tiers are extremely crowded, and even S is up for debate now that Blight is a thing.

  • @Tsulan said:

Nobody knows and the devs won't tell you. Because let's face it, if people knew what to do to get easier matches, they would do it non stop.

Except in the case of lowering MMR, they are giving their opponents easier trials as well by essentially nerfing themselves in order to not increase their score.

I wonder what it would actually be like if the system worked properly and the Devs were transparent...

It was a doctor too :(

Aww. Chained LT tiles might be my personal favourite broken combo.

Although, barring the fact that it was a doctor, a bunch of LT's are much better than a bunch of 4-walls or those long wall/short walls that you have to camp these days. They are able to be used more than once, after all, even if that once doesn't waste quite as much time.

really? i find her really easy to play. I just kinda wish her cooldown-post puking wasn't there. maybe they want to really buff her, they could make the action of charging her puke not have any movement speed penaltiy and allow her red puke to double hit survivors in single stream. I think those would be way more impactful than OP suggestions.

The fact that you think that wouldn't completely break her kind of shows how hard she really is.

  • Legion has info, quick startup, slowdown, and once again, info. Which can be used to isolate weak survivors.

Myers has a small TR that rarely comes into play no matter how good you are thanks to the fact that he has a bright white mask and no other stealth potential, and sometimes instadowns people if he stares hard enough.

  • In a game where capitalising on survivors mistakes is crucial, a perk that undoes them with the push of a button is just plain stupid.

  • The biggest issue there was matchmaking, and more specifically all those people that think fast wait times are more important than fair trials.

It's funny how most of them aren't rank 10.

  • Are you seriously complaining about survivors cleansing? I know Plague is hard, but come on.

Plague is the least picked because she's insanely ######### difficult in every way. She might be the hardest killer in the game. She's certainly much harder than Nurse, the girl you spend a couple hours failing with then suddenly 4k every trial.

Plague requires precise mechanical skill, amazing power knowledge and practice, very good map knowledge, amazing m1 skills, the ability to make snap decisions and formulate complex plans based on information you glimpsed from the corner of your eye, and of course, not playing like a saint.

  • The counterplay is somehow trying to trick a killer that knows where you are into thinking you aren't where you actually are, but are in fact in a slightly different different place.

In other words, hope they suck and bamboozle them.

A different state of player mentality? That is complicated, although I do understand your point. Holding w was somewhat of a rare sight back in the day, and the gen rush was not as sinister as it currently is.

I know it is hard to answer that, but does any specific version comes to mind? 2018, perhaps?

Before the nerf that weakened the god windows. I think it was early 2020? That's when people gave up on trying to play well because they didn't have gigantic safety nets to fal back on.
