isant clown a typical psychopath story? neglected by family and started of by killing small animals because it made him feel powerful then worked his way up to people.
plague was willing to cut off one of her toes to appease the gods to spare a sick person's life so i would not say she's power hungary just an extremely devoted zealot.
Yup, I did forget about clown. And yes, Adiris cut off her toe. In public, during a ceremony that cemented her place as the new priestess. She can use the gods as an excuse all she wants, that lady wanted fame and glory.
Edit: being a zealot isn't mutually exclusive. In fact, a lot of zealots are motivated by that very desire.

Ehh, I would argue most people in real life assume others are straight unless specified otherwise. Not everyone does this but I would say a good chunk of the population.
Not to put too fine a point on it ,but who the ######### cares about such arrogant people? That's their mistake to make, not mine.

There is nothing written in the lore or any other official source that would indicate any of the characters are LGBTQ+. Of course, we cannot say for certain that none of the characters are LGBTQ+, although it’s clear that the promised representation has not yet been delivered.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1744169#Comment_1744169
I don’t see why this would be an issue. Some LGBT+ people do fit stereotypes and others don’t. We shouldn’t demonise people either way.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1744170#Comment_1744170
True. They didn’t give any indication of timeframe but if they’re going to make such a big announcement about it, you’d assume they have something in the works already. As the original post states, we’ve had 4 new characters since and countless lore entries in the archives. There’s definitely been ample opportunities to write an LGBT+ character.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1744178#Comment_1744178
This comes across as very tone-deaf. The developers said originally they wouldn’t go into detail about characters sexuality, relationships etc and then went back on that stance by writing heterosexual pairings into lore, cosmetic sets, artwork etc. LGBTQ+ people exist and deserve to be able to identify with characters in the same way heterosexual people can identify with the straight relationships in game. You might not “demand” a straight character but they exist in the game regardless. It’s only fair LGBT+ relationships are represented too. Nothing about LGBT+ characters are “woke”. The character roster should reflect the player base in a way that allows everyone to find characters they relate to. It’s clear that LGBT+ people are playing DbD just like straight people, how is the addition of such characters “pointless”?
As far as I'm concerned, characters aren't anything until proven otherwise. Straight? Gay? Bi? Pan? Asexual? Anything else I don't remember right now? We literally have no way of knowing, so why assume? That's not something you do to real people, why do it to game characters?

That only counts in open field scenarios. All killers are designed, that you have no chance to avoid hits on open field. Otherwise you could run her forever. And while Nurse can ignore objects, they still influences the spaces she can blink. Breaking LoS forces Nurse players to either predict or blink to corners to catch you. Pallets are even parly usual against her. I'm not saying that you can stun an experienced Nurse player, but they limit her blinking position as well. In general it's about building distance and use objects against her. A Nurse player who doesn't try to predict your movement and only safely blinks for catching up, will waste their timer trying to catch you at some point.
It counts in all scenarios. A good Nurse will not predict you, they will blink to the last place they saw you. Only bad ones look at LoS blockers and go "I think they're HERE!" and blink through with a moronic grin on their face, because that does actually work most of the time, only to find that the survivor did any number of things to bamboozle them.
I am so sick of people calling Nurse a prediction killer. She's not. That opens you up to counterplay. If you blink to where the survivor broke LoS, your second blink will hit them if you can see them. If you can't, you float around a little without wasting it til you find them again. Does it take slightly longer than an amazing prediction? Yes. By maybe 7 seconds, because the survivor cannot leave the tile and will make a noise you can hear moving around the walls. But how much time is lost if the survivor gets in your head?
Or, to put it another way: You've closed in on a survivor. The survivor runs around a wall. You blink to the corner of the wall where they broke LoS. And now you hold all of the power - if they double back, you blink and hit them. If they vault a window or drop a pallet, you blink and hit them. If they keep running, you blink and hit them. What other options do they have? Did I miss something?

Yeah, because everyone is rich and only has the best equipment

I have neither heard a baby sound like Victor, nor seen a baby run like Victor. Or, for that matter, seen a baby rip itself out of someone's torso in a shower of viscera like Victor. Well, unless we count nonhuman infants, in which case I have indeed seen many of the Alien films and played many of the games.
Also, very few babies are ever in a woman's chest. It can happen, though, if you count the ones that develop below the ribcage and also extend the definition of "chest" to include the entire ribcage.

Oh jesus, was it that bad?
Your not allowed to talk about bans for any reason. Which is mostly to make it so the forums don't riot because they don't like a moderator's decision, but also kind of makes it feel like Big Brother's lurking in the shadows, waiting for us to make a mistake that we didn't know was a mistake.
For any mods reading this, I'm just expressing an opinion about the atmosphere, not criticising any decisions.
-
If nothing is changed but bugfixes, then they will be the absolute worst killers in the entire game just because of the fact that it is detrimental in almost every situation to waste time trying to use Victor.
-
I would argue that a killer is not well designed if they make their opponents miserable or are severely punishing to casual players that go "ooh, a gunslinger, that looks fun!" He's more of rewarding for DbD hyperfans like myself that will totally sit there for a couple of months trying to git gud. For most players, Deathslinger is one of the, if not THE, hardest killers in the game but without the reward of instawinning almost every trial.

because i read the lore and there's nothing in it yet, neither in the archives, neither in the ptb, neither in the descriptions of the characters
So all of the lore, without reservation, specifically states that every single character is straight?
-
How do you know it's zero?
-
All right, this time I'll try not to forget the topic at hand and rant.
It could go well with Gearhead if Gearhead becomes meta - if Opression works with it, and someone hits the skillcheck, they'll immediately let go of the generator to remove the aura reading and then Dead Man's Switch will activate.
-
Edit: whoops, wrong thread.
I was thinking that it could go well with Gearhead as well if Gearhead became meta and accidentally had a rant about Gearhead. My bad.
-
The only other option is the inborn psychopathic serial killer route, which a lot of people find offensive for some reason. Plus it's never been used with an original character in DbD except for Ghostface.
Though I'm not entirely certain I would consider the Plague's lore to be sympathetic or tragic. She was a power hungry novitiate that uses faith, snazzy jewels and lies to rule an entire region whilst convincing herself, despite all evidence, that she was some kind of chosen one. No pity there, and none for the Pig either.
-
Honestly, if you don't see the value in a potentially map-wide Surge then Opression is not the perk for you. Instead of going around and manually kicking 4 generators, you kick 1 generator and have 3 more start regressing completely for free, or getting an Overcharge skillcheck seemingly out of the blue. And there are a lot of perks that it can be paired with - PGTW, Trail Of Torment, Dragons Grip, Overcharge, Surveillance...

Omega Blink Nurse was too fast. Current Nurse has enough tells for you to predict her blink to react to depending on distance. Of course her fast close range blinks are still deadly fast, but it's more about trying to avoid such situations.
If you're within range of her first blink, there's nothing to be done except hope she's a bad Nurse and will try to predict your pathing, which opens up the counterplay that everyone insists exists. If she's going for hits at the very edge of her first or second blink, she's taking too many risks.

Yes it does. The gen only remains highlighted yellow until a survivor stops the repair action, or if the Gearhead timer expires.
When did that change happen? I used that perk a lot on live release and any gen getting worked on stayed yellow for the full duration, even when no survivors were on it at all
-
And yet, even if that skillcheck counts, the tracking from Gearhead is still absolutely awful to the point where an entire meme build will fall apart just because it doesn't tell you when the survivors stop their repairs.
My hopes were slightly raised til I remembered that. Also, I don't think it would work because I'm fairly certain that "Difficult" skillchecks are considered "Great" skillchecks.
Personally, I'd rather run it with just Surveillance.

Yes. Yes it is.
-
Generally? No, if you look at the ratio's of good "mains" they'll probably be the same. Killer is harder, sure, but I play both sides and I see plenty of bad killers that rely on full meta builds and cannot fathom what to do with an actually good survivor (usually one of my teammates).
Also, killer being harder doesn't mean survivor is stupid easy.

No, because Ghost face still has to get close to you, even if he marked you. And you can hear his cloak when he is really near, similar to Myers breathing. It gives you some late warning, if you are observant, potentially avoiding a grab. Compare that to DS with Monitor on maps like Yamaoka. He can spear you totally out of the blue, shooting through bushes which totally obscure him.
From 17-18m away, meaning that you're going to break the chain if there's even the slightest bit of debris, and if there's not then you should have seen him and it's kind of your own fault in the same sense that it's your own fault for having Ghostface round a corner, pop the 99 and stab you in the space of half a second.
And if the Slinger is shooting you from somewhere you cannot see him, that also means he cannot see you. So that's one hell of a Slinger.
-
I wish I went against more Nurses that played the prediction game. Maybe I'd understand where everyone comes from with this "Nurse is balanced" stuff. It's like people genuinely forget that she's too fast to react to if she plays well and just reacts to the survivor instead of allowing them to mindgame her.
-
@CaulDrohn said:
Are you using Monitor to hide your already broken TR even further? If yes, then you get all my hate. It's totally busted that DS with Monitor can get close enough to hook you without you hearing ANYTHING!
You must really hate a good Ghostface.
-
A John Constantine paragraph.
-
It's a horror game, not a kid's game. There is some extreme violence in DbD that we're all perfectly okay with, to the point where one person gets to live out their homicidal fantasies on 4 people pretending to be horror movie characters because we're all a bunch of sick, twisted sadists and masochists desensitised to what's happening on screen. Why is it suddenly not okay because there's something that looks like a baby involved? Because it disturbs a part of you? It's supposed to. And in 2 months you'll be desensitised to that as well.
-
I don't really get any hate, to be honest. Most survivors I go against are under the impression that their skill mattered, which is great for everyone I guess, and most people on the forums seem to recognise me as one of the biggest "Nerf Slinger" people despite him being one of my mains whom I also suck at.
-
Don't group up. Run Bond if you're solo, or just get good at reading your environment. Calling out killers for trying to snowball early is like calling out survivors for popping gens before getting a hook.

Really depends on who/what skill level we're talking about. It's really a question of whether it should be possible in the first place. Definitely doesn't make the killer overpowered to recall Victor or see the aura.
It's kind of like Tombstone Piece. Generally speaking, at its most useless, it's an ivory Mori that makes you into a 3v1 m1 killer.
-
@lowiq said:
There's nothing wrong with the hatch. Keys are the problem.
Is it? It's basically like tossing a coin or rolling a die to see if the last survivor escapes or not. Fitting for the casual game DbD is, perhaps, but maybe a little unfair for the loser of the RNG standoff.
-
I've never understood those arguments. If you want to drop the confines of the game world, you still have to embrace the confines of the game lore, and in the game lore all the killers are unstoppable juggernauts with enhanced strength, senses and endurance. Yeah, good luck. I wouldn't even bet on David Vs an MMA fighter, let alone a superhuman.
Edit: Sorry, superhuman extremely violent serial killer.

What takes 6 seconds? Transitioning from Victor to Charlotte? Certainly didn't seem that way to me. More like 3 seconds or so.
The normal transition for switching takes about 4 seconds (because the sister gets an additional second or so of extremely low movement speed), add in the 2 second animation for hitting a healthy survivor/getting kicked or 1 second random delay for switching back manually.
-
@ad19970 said:

The transition time is needed though, or they would be too strong at loops when teamed up.
6 seconds?
-
This fills my heart with bitter joy.
-
In theory, yes. If it doesn't, it's a bug. Surveillance shows the auras of regressing generators, which is why it works with Ruin and Surge. You don't need to kick the gens, they just need to be regressing.
-
If the forums are anything to go by, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger, Legion. Those three are the ones I see the most hate for.
-
@Hex_Stalk said:
If anything, Victor should mess with the controls of the survivors slightly.
Like a struggling survivor?
-
But you use Spirit's power to get both hits
-
Normally, I would agree. However there is no escaping the fact that the killers entire power gets negated in too many extremely common scenarios, and that in turn lead me, someone who is usually very cautious about labelling something weak or strong in the first week, to call them the absolute worst killers in the game in their current state.
I'm not even kidding, it is actually better to not use Victor at all, because of all the no-brainer counterplay and massive punishment.
-
@KateDunson said:
I think you are not using her in the right way, dont use your power when they are healty, is a slugging killer, when at least 3 ppl are injured go and down all of them, and if one guy decide to keep victor, go for the others, he cant do gens and game becomes 3v1
And what happens if they jump in lockers or group together to kill Victor while he's stunned? I do agree that her general playstyle will be to injure the survivors herself, then send out Victor, but
1) that means she's just an m1 killer for most of the trial and has to hope they don't heal or spread out or play safe or slam gens.
2) it's not even possible with Victor in his current state thanks to the aforementioned counterplay.

i must be on crack because The Twin's power is one of the worst in the game at the moment
What? No, if survivors don't group together, crouch, jump in a locker, or keep baby Victor on them, then the twins are totally strong killers.
Edit: also, something sarcastic about the transition time.
-
The full chapter usually releases for all platforms 3 weeks after the PTB.
-
Oni has the best snowball potential in the game, far better than Billy, and he also has inbuilt (if pretty bad) tracking. His power, when he gets it, is pretty much what Billy wanted to be when he grew up. Blight has the amazing mix of constant mobility and chase potential, both easily better than Billy when going against the best survivors. No inbuilt instadown doesn't matter when he can potentially get hits at every maze tile with his power or immediately follow up on an m1, not exactly something Billy is known for. He also hard counters Hold-W.
But it isn't like they are leagues apart. The three of them are some of the best killers in the game, and who you play is down to you.
-
Because both? Deception makes it seem like you jumped in a locker, Dance With Me removes scratchmarks after fast vaulting. Both create different behaviours in the killer.
-
Honestly, this is the first DLC that I'm no hyped over. It's not that I don't like anything in particular, I'm just really not into it at all. I hope everyone else is happy with it.

I don't mean to intervene here, but I am super emotional and sensitive to everything. Just last night I cried over an oreo commercial because a stuffed animal wanted to eat oreos and I couldn't handle it lol! I developed it through severe anxiety and get embarrassed sometimes, but I have been told by my friends that I have developed a sixth sense for when they need help or are upset. Also, the way you described the twisted gut feeling is kinda cool, I usually get butterflies or blush a lot from joy!
Well, that explains why you're always so nice to interact with
-
Yeah, honestly it's not as useful as people want to think. Unless you're counting on getting the Iron Will bug, just recover. Maybe crawl to a pallet if one is close. But no halfway decent killer is going to be fooled by moaning coming from a bush 3m away from where they downed you.
Or, to put it another way, by the time you've crawled 10m you could have been halfway recovered.
