  • Dunno why you destroyed syringe like that, it's actually a decent addon as is. Workshop grease and the new Amanda's letter look nice, would almost want those just base kit lol, maybe would actually be able to use ambush to you know, ambush. Crouch speed is a cool idea for an addon, removes one of the "tunnel me harder" addons too which is good. 60s of mangled is pretty garbo btw. If you want to slap something that short it'd have to be broken. Still wish there was an addon to increase her ambush duration. God the antiloop would be beautiful with an extra second.

  • Nah, proper counter play is to spank that ass though so you should expect slaps

  • Devs think up interesting ideas for perks but don't want anyone to actually use them so they slap cooldowns on them.

  • Find most of the highly rated perks highly rated for a reason. I do hate that bbq is the only killer perk with an actual functional boost to bp. It'd be much more niche if it wasn't for the bp.

  • Can't pallet stun a good trapper. Starting the lay animation prevents it.

Say multiple survivors are hit while carrying another survivor. Most scenarios they heal and save him before he goes into the 2nd/Struggle phase. Now they they risk going down to save their buddy. Now they have 30s where their hands are tied. They could work on gens for 30s, then have to heal and by time they safely get back to him he's already on death hook next time he's down.

If it was too much longer it would be overpowered, and if it happened all the time then the survivors would never be able to heal.

This feels like someone trying to justify cruel limits because you can technically theory craft one situation that might happen in 1 in 20 matches that could theoretically make the perk sound useful. The problem will always be of course the other 19 matches you have an empty perk slot. Even in the one off you may as well just run sloppy and it'll help not only that situation but many, many others and I dunno, throw pop in the slot that would have been wasted on Penance. A perk has to be consistent to a degree to really be useful or atleast have a means where your own play or strategy could increase that consistency to compensate. Penance is less reliable than a hex perk for a tenth of the impact.

  • Ya it's a bit weird how flashlights from outside your FoV can blind you. Best to sweep for flashlighters quickly after faking a pickup. Even pressing your face to a wall can't fully protect you.

Forced Penance is bad because of protection hits, low duration, and obslete effect.

When do Protection hits happen? While someone is being carried and when you body block for another injured Survivor. Forced Penance does literally NOTHING outside of these two circumstances.

So what happens when you take a hit while someone is being carried? You run off and cant heal for a bit? Doesnt stop you from doing anything else, especially gens.

What about when you block for an injured Survivor? Either the killer stays on target and you have the same situation as above or the killer switches targets to you and what is Broken doing that you are being chased?

Forced Penance is an EASY contender for worst perk in the game. I'd argue that Monstrous Shrine has a more significant effect.

I probably would put monstrous shrine above Penance. Atleast you can reduce time loss from insidious bubba if people don't come or add a tiny bit of pressure to trappers fortress.

The modified version would be pretty cool, and yeah they couldn't heal for two minutes.

The existing version is still effective, but obviously not as much. I still don't see how it's a bad perk

Mangled just adds a few seconds to a heal not minutes. Doubt it even adds up to a full minute with both combined. I don't know the exact numbers but it's annoying as survivor, potentially lethal combined with nurses but sloppy isn't that broken strong to add a minute and a half, base heal time is only 16s. Even coultraphobia(however it's spelled) that clown perk wouldn't cause that and I know it's 50% slow is larger than mangled.

This is to say nothing to the low likelihood of actually even activating Penance at all outside of exit gate slapping. Can easily go multiple matches without ever seeing a single actual protection hit. Aside from wildly chasing survivors while carrying someone with agitation risking a wiggle off you can't actually control if it activates at all and even that requires hook hovering by the survivors.

  • @MortisCarnifex said:

I can't see how Forced Penance is possibly bad. Sloppy Butcher+ Forced Penance = a survivor that's easy to locate, chase, and will take 2 minutes to heal.

What the modified forced Penance or the garbage that the devs put out? In the niche situation of a protection hit they can't heal for 30s. That's total garbage especially when the perk you already mentioned, sloppy applies on every basic attack no conditions and actually takes time away from the survivor by increasing heal time and actually stays useful even if you hook them immediately after. 30s of broken is useless if you chase them as hook and whoops perk did nothing and if you don't they just go find a gen and it'll probably be near the end of the duration when they get to one. Seriously for something that requires either another injured survivor next to the target hit or for you to hit someone during a carry that's garbo.

I do think hindered for 60s would be op. 30s of hinder would probably be good though, that'd certainly punish hook body blocks pretty fiercely. Only a perk worth running against obvious swf sabo squads but it'd have a niche use like lightborn does against flashlight bully squads I guess.

  • Mediocre survivor, decent killer. Mostly get carried by my knowledge of the other side.

I think Gearhead actually got NERFED between PTB and live didn't it? They could actually make ToT worse

It's funny because it's true haha! Every perk on the list could be nerfed up to 50% for no reason just because the devs want to make sure new killer perks are terrible. Intentionally useless perks, about the only explanation for what they tossed out this time. Shame because torment could have been such an interesting perk completely waisted.

  • Hag is a devilish nightmare for survivors. Can't imagine her needing a buff. Especially with those lovely shackles, the salt gets real.

Depends on if he comes out of the gate with throw away perks or not.

Getting real old with the new characters with crappy perks playbook by the devs.

We already know he has throwaway perks. Doubt much will be changed by release.

  • Forcing someone to bleed out from borrowed time as doctor. It's time for your shock therapy! We can't be waiting for you to bandage yourself now can we?

  • Probably struggling to find any addon that could possibly compete with the power of simply instantly downing someone faster. A feat I'm sure they are definitely struggling with.

  • I hope this gets fixed sooner rather than later.

  • Pig mostly, a bit of doctor. Think that's my whole list as far as being strong on them goes. I play most of the killers frequently but definitely a far better Pig than anything else.

  • Running on circles around a round object is usually enough. Bubba has to take wider turns than you to go around it. With how absurdly tight he has to be to you for a chainsaw hit at all usually you can do it nearly indefinitely.

  • Always preferred the sneaky sneak so I get most of my fun mindgaming and outwitting people. Play stealth for both survivor and killer. Fine with gen jockey as well.

  • Honestly the whole having to full heal someone and be hooked requirement always seemed questionable to me. I can why the we'll make it would be pretty much mandatory. Still has the problem of being less useful if you are found first, it's atleast only halved instead of fully shut down like deliverance but the effect is no where near as strong as is. Considering you can only get hooked twice it really should have just activated automatically

  • They'll probably either do 1-2 or slam like half the roster with it. Depends how hard they want to go on the attempted pride month pr move. Expecting minimal effort or overboard, soulless pr stunts are unlikely to be anything in between. Probably Meg, Nea, or David somewhere in the list given how quickly they come to mind for people. Honestly if they had just quietly released some pride merch for Nea especially I wouldn't have been surprised at all. Probably would have been a better way to go about it. Than this big showy move.

  • Bold statement with that opener of everyone in the LGBT community. If they were really doing this tactfully instead as a pr stunt it'd probably heve been something like releasing a skin with a rainbow bracelet or earing on. Something with less spectacle, let people notice it and come to the conclusion on their own. A small easy way to make it a part of the character without it being yet another tweet a characters sexuality thing. Pr stunt it is and I don't appreciate "ooh look at how inclusive we are" pr stunts.

Seriously though, can anything be more disappointingly fake than a representation tweet? Couldn't think of any better way to implement it? Like just implementing it without the show for your applause?

Well, I apologize for anything I've said here that comes across as "straightsplaining," as it were. Obviously there are a whole range of opinions here, but I suppose it sucks to have the feeling that your identity is being treated as a prop.

Oh God please don't use that word. This whole "only people with the lived experience can have an opinion" thing is just some weirdly popularized junk that has infected the world lately. Your allowed your own opinion just am I am. I just feel far too many people are putting too much effort into "helping" to the point it's actually causing damage. I can atleast say for myself just being treated as a person not a person of x group is all I ask for.

I wouldn't know for Quebec on the whole in particular as it's kind of the strange offshoot of Canada having visited Pride Street/Gay Village during pride month in Montreal I can safely say yes. It's certainly got it's roots in the one place I've been in Quebec. It's not exactly a distant land and the internet rather diffuses things all over quite effectively. Thanks to the Internet things can be quite wide reaching beyond mere borders.

  • So am I and it's not like it doesn't bleed over a lot past the border. Pride month ends up happening just as much here as the states.

Sure, I'd think the pessimistic view is that Pride Month is an opportunistic time to do something like this. But doesn't Pride Month exist to call attention to the impact that LGBT people have had? There's a positive connotation to have a company saying "hey, we hear you." It may not be ideal, but am I wrong in thinking that this kind of progress is a net positive?

Honestly I hate pride month. Having an entire month dedicated to how different you are kinda sucks. Often tends to be the roughest time to be one too as the sexuality is just being tossed around for marketing the entire month. Having companies spontaneously declare characters gay on pride month for publicity is just plain irritating. Makes it blatant that it's just corporate.

I 'think' it's because of the bad rep small parts of the LGBT community have developed. Namely, the people that make their entire life revolve around their sexuality. As if being of a certain sexuality is ALL their life is about, and everybody should be the same.

Nothing against anybodies sexuality. Who you're attracted too is your business, but what hole you stick something into shouldn't be somebodies entire persona. Thus, when tweets like this pop out, it makes others worried that any characters created with a certain sexuality will be their entire backstory.

Not to say there aren't people that are homophobic, or resistant to change. I'm sure there are. Just my two cents.

But from a game play perspective it won't matter. Unless you get the toxic player that claims you moried them because they're gay.

Dear god yes, I hate dealing with people like that and so god damn often that's the stereotype companies thrust on gay characters. Gives gays like me a bad rep for no reason. It's the reason I dislike it so much, someone's sexuality shouldn't matter and throwing a big sign that this person is this is just putting sexuality on a pedistal for people to keep giving too much importance too. The more of a spotlight being gay gets the more of a problem it becomes for actual gay people. If anything is inclusive of it it's not bringing it up at all because any of them could be anything and it's probably not important while a murder is hacking you with a machete because an extra dimensional entity scooped you up for food.

I mean, they mention exes in lore all the time. Never saw any complaint about those. Then again, those were all heterosexual couples...

Highly doubt you'd see complaints if it's a gay ex either. That's as previously stated an actual part of a characters history and gives a reason to bring it up if it's going into that part of the backstory. Honestly haven't seen anything about relationships at all so far but haven't gotten through all the archives yet. It's when it's brought up just because I hate.

  • I'm very confused why'd they'd bother bringing up what the characters are sexually attracted to. Leave it up to the weird fanfics n stuff imo. Far too often characters get turned into just some stereotype where their identity is litterally just their sexuality. Unless something in particular romantic comes up it's as irrelevant as it is for 90% of everyone else you meet in life. Not even a thought that comes to mind most of the time is "what's this person want to #########?"

  • Ya aura perks help a LOT in solo que. Keeps everyone on the same page even without mics.

  • Forever Freddy just makes me want to quit. No matter what you aren't going to have fun and Freddy is already unfun to play against.

  • Distortion, it's often a free gen and a beautiful info piece especially in swf. Got nothing for killer though.

  • I tend to run stakeout moderately frequently so ya I go for them a decent amount. I find goods are rarely enough to actually max objectives unless you are like litterally the only gen jockey. It's a solid extra bp and it does speed everything but especially speeds healing.

  • I think it's a great perk hampered by a huge cooldown. As much as I love it when it works and can sing it's praises I rarely ever actually use it unless I have nothing else.

  • Enduring is a bad idea on trapper. You should learn the stun tech of placing a trap right before the stun as the animation protects you.

  • Think that'd be breakout. I'm not super familiar with who came when but I think that ones vaguely new.

  • Sounds like a nightmare match. Always need more than a down out of a chase early on if you want to win. Trying to push survivors past gens through zoning and aggressively attacking any gen you hear repairs on during a chase is very important. The game definitely isn't balanced around just doing a chase for a down.

  • I dunno, swf are often predictable. More difficult certainly but once you get into a good headspace to learn to deal with them the average overly confident swf shouldn't be a problem. My favorite are the 3-4x flashlight bully squads who just want to pick on you.

  • It doesn't burn tokens if you hit greats, it just doubles the impact of them on the gen. Hitting goods should be turning them into greats at the cost of a token. Either you hit every skill check perfectly or it broke somehow.

  • Probably lithe, dance, into fixated. Houdini mode engaged. Take to lerry's for maximum fun.

One I theory crafted but haven't tested yet is This is Not Happening, Resilience, Stakeout for maximum genrush. Bigger greats to help save tokens, doubling the effects of greats, on top of bonus gen speeds from injuries.

  • Been seeing more and more recently. Having someone go down only to sink into the floor and heal two health states. Walking through solid objects, outrunning a 115 killer on a straight away by a large margin. They've got everything these days.

  • Of course it is. Just another headache of a perk to deal with.

  • Mmm yes I love it when survivors swarm a teamate in need, downed or hooked. No need to pressure gens no ones at, just free hits for days.

  • Whispers, sloppy, nurses,surveillance/make your choice is a pretty good starter perk build on her that only requires base game + herself as dlc. You really should want whispers as it's your alert to crouch or uncrouch. You want to minamize time spent crouching and it's a good cleanup perk lategame.

Legion is suppose to look like the survivors, so they're the same size (maybe a little taller, idk) and the only thing that makes them look like a killer is the mask. So, i'm just wondering how they'd make this killer any different. If they looked exactly like a survivor that wouldn't be very scary, not saying Legion is scary.. but you know what I mean. I'd love to hear what your killer would look like tho, and how they'd be noticeably different to the legion.

You say that but it's the entity we're talking about. It could probably gift him giant spider legs or something if it wanted to.

  • Deadhard. Press E to dash? More like press E to die. Swear this damn thing fizzles more often than it works.

  • We can only hope they turn this mistake into reality. Maybe it'd be fun in some niche builds.

  • Don't remember mentioning masks or hoodies, or even a knife.

  • It is truly absolutely rediculious. Sure it's less places to look but that implies gen totems aren't pretty much an automatic find. It's just rng giving your perk slot a middle finger whenever it happens.
