Yes and no. Yes because it'd be awesome, but no because, apart from what @LordGlint said, the basement is supposed to be where you're closest to the Entity, so it'd make sense that it was modeled after Her, instead of the killer.

They use to model the hooks around the map based off the killer currently in the trial. Theres a reason why they took that out...

  • I can see it now...

    -Spawns in shack, walks downstairs-

"Hey guys, the killer is so and so, im in the basement..."

  • How is this NOT just a nerf to these perks? Typically when ppl use the word "change" they make it stronger in one way to make it weaker in another. What you did here is JUST made it weaker. Thana not only would not take effect on healing, but also would get a nerf to its numbers while Dying light, which is a perk that already gives a massive buff to the obsession (who is immune to its negative effects) would lose the majority of its effects.

  • The guy got a 2k after allowing a survivor to get away for free. Personally when the DS guy unhooked in his face...I wouldve hit the freshly unhooked guy too. The guy either has to mend or gets slugged, either way is going to slow things down.

  • If your gonna cut the game short with a key, you can expect less emblem points

  • Your pallet example is one reason why "Windows of Opportunity" is nice. You cant always know pallet spawns before seeing them and you cant always know which pallets have already been used.

Yikes - at least I know I will be able to watch an episode of a show between games then.

I don’t know what’s worse, crossplay being there or having the option to opt out of it. Lol

just not a fan of it since KB+M isnt supported on console, and ngl, there is a difference in style of play/control in the game between the two

Theres a difference between kb+m and controller for killer sure... But fortunately the killers arnt the ones competing with each other.

  • @TheLastGreatStar said:

He’s obviously the best killer to use if you want to deny somebody being saved but he’s so much more than that. He’s one of my favourite killers to play as and against. His ability to down several survivors is so satisfying when you pull it off.

Managed to get a double down yesterday on the last 2 survivors. Downed one, only to see the other one crouched nearby with a flashlight...so just kept going forward, lol.

  • Afew things to point out here... You mentioned him having a lack of map pressure. This is because he moves slow and has no movement based abilities. in that sense, his map pressure is actually LOWER than the killers you mentioned, who all move faster than he does. As far as TR goes, its pretty normal for a 110% killer to have a smaller than average TR. Every killer with 115% movement speed has a 32 meter TR while the 110% movement speed killers have smaller. Nurse and Myers are the exceptions here.

As far as trying to use IRL measurements... I wouldnt bother. This is a game where survivors are running slower than a killer walks. If we're to take everything at face value...Myers is walking 15 feet per second, lol.

Also to point out something you brought up, Deathslinger's music IS the TR. It makes perfect sense that you dont hear the heartbeat before you hear the music. This is the case with alot of killers nowdays. When your inside the TR of Demo for example, you'll hear music.

You mentioned spinechill, but dismissed it by saying its a perk for new players and something that should be discarded. I couldnt disagree with you more. The perk is great for alerting you of when a killer is coming to your area in cases where you might not have line of sight. This is apparently screwing you over alot in the case of deathslinger, but it has the same effect with any killer that can hide their TR whether that be via perk or ability. We're about to get another perk that lowers TR with Pyramid head, so I'm willing to bet you'll run into this more often. I'm also willing to bet alot of the deathslingers your facing are selecting monitor and abuse for the sole purpose of closing in on survivors without them noticing til theyre closer than you feel comfortable with, lol.

  • Feel like people are REALLY getting caught up on that crow part, lol. The perks main use is to counter various killer effects that would make you scream. The moment your facing a Billy or Oni who's slugging your team with infectious fright... you'll be glad you have it. Pyramid head is also bringing another scream related perk to the game, so thisll be a counter to that as well.

  • Id go with Myers personally. He has alot of different ways you can play him with his addons offering ALOT of variety, and all 3 of his perks are useful.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Ive made a decision, if a survivor runs a haddonfield offering and I happen to be playing bubba, Im camping. F it. Got the 4k that last game. Only 1 gen done. This is why its a legit strategy. You guts feed it.

You WOULD play an OP killer like Bubba, lol.

  • @Joelwino said:

The entire purpose of moris was to implement a cool killing animation for each killer into the game. The purpose of moris was not to give you an advantage. Now that we have perks like Rancor and Devour Hope, I don't see a purpose for moris in the game. And if we delete moris, then killer rank will be more accurate since some killers won't be boosted by overpowered offerings. Moris are annoying, because they unfairly rob you of your chances to escape. There are lots of times I would've escaped a trial if not for a killer's Ebony Mori. If Mori offerings were to stay in the game, then they should only let you kill people on death hook to keep the imbalance to a minimum.

I doubt we have anyone who's rank gets boosted because they use moris. Typically, using moris is going to hinder your emblems. Not saying moris are balanced or anything...just that those who use them are much more likely to safety pip when they win.

I hope they take it. Especially since people are posting such silly "can't pretend survivors don't have upper hand" or whatever.

Like literally, thank you for your kindness and work although it may go to waste since I've noticed that some of them don't want to improve. They just want things made easier.

Some complaints have merit, but overall... The game is in a pretty good spot at the moment. I know alot of people get stressed out trying to play killer and it doesnt help that matchmaking puts em in over their heads alot (Rank 15 vs rank 1 scenerios) so figured id offer some help and advice while screwin around with Bubba (he's simplistic yet still can be pretty potent...I never find myself stressed out while playing him).

Don’t pick on me, autocorrect on different language is hard 😂

yeah I know that not all killer mains are like this. But the majority is, and I noticed that whole accusing of SWF often lately.

Oh, I know. Feel like the worst killer main on here sometimes because alot of the rants I hear about how survivor sided this game is... I'm just like "Maybe theres something you can do to get better? Maybe its time for abit of self reflection when you do poorly instead of time to rant on the forums?" Was on a thread the other day with people suggesting some Bubba buffs...and none of em were very subtle, lol. This wasnt little tweeks. Someone suggested for example that instead of bubba moving at 85% speed while revving his saw like he does now...it should be 105%.

  • Can use a tomestone piece on Myers. Often times even if you 4k...you depip, lol.

This sounds like just every killer main tbh. Accusing of SWF with comma, and the whole potato thing.

Its because the SWF's commas are OP. They should just use a period and end the sentence, but no... they have to keep it going. I'm just busting your chops.

Personally, I'll look out of curiosity...but I dont get scared away by SWFs. I'm not one to blame every outplay a survivor makes on SWFs, although I have turned abit paranoid anytime someone goes down near a locker and check the locker before picking em up.

Can we not turn this thread into a hate train for someone this is so unnecessary.

Didnt mean to hate on anyone, OP just mentioned tru3 by name. I just figured that was the reason why anyone would just assume they were chosen to be in the new MMR since it doesnt actually tell you.

  • Tru3 constantly claims everytime he plays killer, the survivors are "optimal" while everytime he plays survivor, his teammates are potatos. Also everytime a survivor 360s him and he wiffs, it was "Dead 'ard", which apparently they must be hackers because they can often times use it several times per chase, lol.

Why would you use Surveillance and Ruin on Bubba though?

This combo is normally used on killers that can easily apply map pressure like nurse and billy.

I think perks like BBQ&Chili and Pop goes the Weasel are much more useful and consistent.

Thats the common mistake people make is that you can only apply pressure with certain killers. I can pressure ppl off gens with Bubba all day. You don't think ppl are gonna scatter when he comes around? This playstyle is all about keeping pressure and ping ponging around, not neccisarily ending every chase you get into with a down. Pop is only useful if your getting hooks to feed it consistantly. This playstyle however IS good for scattering survivors off gens, negating the little progress they DO make and creating giant deadzones that they pay for since Bubba can instadown them instead of giving them a speedboost to better areas.

The difference is that you can counter ghostface by not letting him stalk you, but you can't counter a 1 shot from the plague because sooner or later you will touch something with vomit (a gen, a hooked teammate...). Playing against plague is a guaranteed no-heal game, but playing against ghostface isn't a guaranteed being-oneshot-all-game. As I said, I like chases, so the longer the chase is = the more fun I get.

I see your point, but playing against the plague is always the same, repair, being chased, being unhooked, repair, being chased, being unhooked, repair... At least against other killers I can heal or be healed, and I can use my altruistic perks.

Btw I mentioned how many hours I had in the game in case you thought I were a beginner or something. Of course I knew you had more hours than me. I've been seeing your posts here for months.

I never assume anyone is new, the opposite actually. I assume everyone has thousands of hours unless proven otherwise.

  • By "certain players" do you mean GOOD players? Is this Tru3's new way of saying every survivor he faces is "Optimal" again?

  • While it does take 15 seconds for bloodlust 1 to kick in, which activates beast of prey... Typically bloodlust is reset anytime you use a power. I havent tested it specifically with PH yet, but I'm guessing that would include him making his trenches. Even if it DID activate though, I fail to see how that would benefit PH specifically.

I know how to counter one-shot abilities, and yes you can counter all of them if you have experience, and I have 2 thousand hours in this game (if the killer is good it will cost you more effort to do so, of course).

I don't know why it is that hard to understand, I really like chases and being injured makes the chase shorter, that's why I don't like killers that make you unable to heal, that's all dude lol.

Whats the difference then with facing a 1 shot M1 from a ghostface vs a 1 shot M1 from a Plague then? Both require abit of setup sure...but at least you get to use DH against the Plague.

Sidenote... Theres really no reason to flaunt your hours on the DBD forums. EVERYONE here has alot of hours, lol.

In my opinion being chased is the most fun scenario in this game, and not being healthy cuts the chase in half.

That means that not being able to heal makes the game less fun for me.

Couldnt you use similar logic though with ANY killer that has a 1 shot? What's seperating Plague from Ghostface or Myers for example? Or Legion, who can get that initial hit VERY easily. And even this is separating the initial chase to get you injured to begin with.

  • How did you even get the first DBD shot?

  • @Groxiverde said:

Personally I don't like to play against her because she forces you to genrush. You can't heal so...

Thats basicly the gameplay behind ANY killer though. The idea that healing up is what makes the game fun is kinda silly. You can still break totems and loot chests if you really want, just like against any other killer.

  • @Witas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1320271#Comment_1320271

Yeah I tried playing like this but every time I got genrushed into oblivion :P

Like someone else pointed out...try not to spend too much time on 1 survivor. You dont have to build all 3 stacks off one person if your able to swap obsessions using nemesis.

    20200508053049_1.jpg

This is the perks I use, the addons can be whatever. The perks on the left will give you information on where to hit next after you get stunned so you can get a PWYF token and harrass someone else on gens. The gen theyre working on will start regressing as soon as you chase em off... The 2 perks on the right however will make that saw deadly. The idea being is to keep pushing ppl off gens, get stunned and then run to the next target while getting your PWYF stack. You'll be going too fast for them to loop, so they'll be forced to throw pallets pretty quickly. Down anyone who gets too greedy using your chainsaw and switch targets after a pallet stun if you see another target available.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

Well, yes. But unless a mechanic is changed there's no real bug to be found.

It was on the dedicated servers ptb. Which happened right before the stranger things ptb. So there were no killers to be tested, just the servers.

It absolutely won't hurt. But people usually want to try the new stuff. So DC's are gonna happen. 🤷‍♂️

Still no reason to be an ######### on the post-game chat.

There might not be a new mechanic, but there IS a new map and new perks that need to be tested on various killers. Many maps will offer unique glitches with different killers. Nurse for example is notorious for having huge deadzones where she just cant teleport for no reason at all. Oni's update brought us Nemesis, which showed a glaring problem when comboed with Legion. These are issues that NEED to be tested on PTB so they can see fixes and tweeks before they hit live.

  • I've been using it on quite afew killers. As long as your applying pressure instead of devoting alot of time on each survivor individually...it can do really well.

  • Feel like the biggest reason against using maps is just the rarity of them. The only maps in the game are green or red, whereas you can constantly have a decent supply of medkits since even the brown version is useful.

I appreciate the offer, but I'd rather just mess around with builds to figure it out myself. Thank you though!

That's fine, goodluck to ya. Alot of it is just learning Bubba's strengths and weaknesses and playing around that.

  • Typically dead harding through Trapper's trap would allow you to pass it without triggering it. Its been a thing for awhile.

  • 20200519024147_1.jpg 20200519024208_1.jpg

I've had this afew times myself, but typically only after leaving the game up for an extended amount of time. I have a habit of leaving my computer running with the game on in the background after I'm finished playing. I'll come back 10 hours later...play some games and...this. Started restarting the game ahead of time to try to avoid that. Fortunately the few times it DID happen to me... was when I had the upper hand, so I doubt the survivors I was facing thought it was a ragequit when I had 1 slugged and was in the middle of hooking another.

It does but it’s kind of what the game needs if that makes sense? Nothing dumb like “chase a survivor for ten seconds and they become exposed.” But more along the lines of being out of chase for x amount will make you x amount faster, downing x amount of survivors will make your next basic attack a instadown. Both would be good for low mobility and M1 killers but not so useful on high mobility or one shot killers. Also please for the love of everything no more cool down perks with every chapter. That would make me happy. 🙂

P.S I’m all ears is an underrated gem 👀

As soon as i saw we have a killer that can hit ppl through walls with a ranged attack... Did EVERYONE immediately think of I'm all ears with that one? lol

I get what you mean, I do that too but it’s just recently killer perks have been really bad. Not saying they’re completely useless because they can be used with others but I don’t really like using 2-3 perks just so one can shine. Some recent perk combos are good like nemesis with pwyf and hex retribution with haunted. The thing I’m saying is there hasn’t been a good standalone or even meta changing perk for killer in awhile.

In all fairness, typically when a single perk can change the meta entirely...its a pretty clear sign that its OP. I get what your saying though with a perk being useful without needing to be a combo. Alot of ppl started using thrilling tremors over BBQ when it got released and if you look at some of Otz's videos... he's got abit of a love for I'm all ears, lol. I know I tried making builds centered around furtive chase though and kinda fell flat. The only synergy I could REALLY find with it was for OG Freddy...who got reworked and lost that synergy, lol. Typically though killer perks arnt going to be widely useful to the entire killer cast. Infectious fright for example is a great perk... but isnt gonna perform too well on killers with a small TR or killers who cant quickly take advantage of the information. Great on Billy, kinda ######### on Hag. I'm personally a big fan of Surge, with it being on my Freddy since it was released. It's requirement of only working on M1 downs though has made it so I wont be equiping it on Huntress, even though I'd love that effect on her...

  • @xCarrie said:

I thought they would’ve added actual good perks for pyramid head but of course no. Just meh “stealth” perks that come with a killer that obviously doesn’t strike as stealthy. Demo, deathslinger, oni, and now PH all came with perks that are either bad or require other perks to be decent. Plague’s perks were the last strong ones that didn’t require extra perks to be viable.

Its not exactly uncommon to see killer perks that dont work well on the killer they came out on as they would on other characters. I think M&A on Doc is a perfect example of this. That's one reason that everytime new perks come out... I start looking at the whole killer roster to think of who could make good use of different perks and come up with some experimental builds to try. Sometimes things work...sometimes not so much. Either way though its kinda fun.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1319236#Comment_1319236

I get that, and I personally dont see anything wrong with the way things are. Playing around meta perks isnt to difficult once you know how. Just thought it was an interesting idea. Wouldmt be fair to apply it to one side and not the other

I've heard of similar things in the past. I remember hearing some sort of perk point system where your given a pool of points to use on perks, so you can either select afew powerful high point cost perks, or alot of less powerful low cost perks.

  • This talk of Legacy skins gives me an idea... What if they use these to bring in characters from past lore? Maybe Jane's skin could be her mom, who went looking for her after her disappearance or something. Just a thought...

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1318988#Comment_1318988

The perk selection gimmick is an interesting idea. It would need to be applied to both sides but it might make balancing the rest of the game easier.

Survivors for example couldnt run both ds and unbreakable. Similarly killer couldnt run both dying light and thana.

Idk, just doesnt seem like an awful idea

Its an interesting concept, but I feel like it has a pretty major flaw. For the most part...Killer perks fall under 3 catagories:Tracking, Chase and Slowdown. Some killers end up naturally having 1 of those aspects built in (Doctor naturally has good tracking) and doesnt really need to use up perk slots for that particular aspect. This idea of perk slots being designated for each aspect doesnt really work when you consider that each individual character has different strengths and weaknesses that is going to reflect on which perk types theyd need MORE of or LESS of. Personally, I'm one who's likely to use multiple tracking perks when playing Huntress (shes slow and gives away her position WAY ahead of time) and tend not to bother with chase perks on her. This idea would FORCE me to use a chase perk where id rather use tracking.

  • I dont see how this would change anything. If people are gonna DC when they THINK its a mori, whats the difference? If anything, MORE offerings should be secret offerings so its not this "100% certainty thats a mori" thought pattern...or just dont show secret offerings so theyre secret.

After 1 person finished the healing process, they scream, meaning that if 2-3 injured survivors are healing 1 injured survivor, they reveal the location of themselves(still injured). Thats the whole point. The scream means that 1 person is healed up, if everyone is injured, and 1 person screams that means the screaming person still is injured. How could you not get that implication from my comment?

The set-up was "everyone is injured, then someone screams", implying the perk activates, meaning 1 person is healed. Its not "someone screams, then everyone is injured".

The situation your describing would pretty much be a weaker nurses calling. The killer cannot interupt a heal, has to hope the one doing the healing is ALSO injured in order to chase an injured target and also only gets information on targets far away as opposed to people nearby that they can close in on quickly AND isnt getting an aura, but rather a scream...which is a weaker detection. All this while openly announcing to the survivor that its happening.

The distance required would guarantee that the survivor has a HUGE headstart if the killer does infact choose to initiate a chase. No killer wants to start chasing a survivor who is 32 meters away and already running. The amount of time needed to catch up if the survivor chooses to do something as simple as hold W is absurd. Of Pyramid heads 3 perks, id say 1 of em has a chance of being used in any sort of serious manner...this aint it.

1 … 90 91 92 93 94 … 185
