Brutal Strength doesn't need a buff. If a perk is a common killer perk that's used it's probably in a good spot or OP. I don't think there's very many OP killer perks. But I feel like Brutal is in a fine spot as it is.
Didnt know it was very widely used. I know it USE to be popular back when there was far less killers and perks, but I dont see it used much at all anymore.

The only thing she has going for her is that killers might feel awkward chasing you after youve been injured due to the fact that it sounds like porn blaring through their speakers. Apart from that...she aint exactly the quietest.
-
From what Ive been told, the matchmaker is suppose to have a 6 rank limit, where the survivors in your lobby can be upto 6 ranks above or below your rank, unless someone brings a SWFs teammate in which case...its allowed to bring whatever poor rank 20 they want.

The only plus I find in playing on PS4 as opposed to PC is that it’s easier to look behind you while running with a remote than it is using a mouse and keyboard.
But yeah everything else you said pretty much sums it up.
You know, you can plug remotes into PCs too. Alot of ppl playing on PC using a remote.

This is amazing and sad at the same time :'(
It happens when you use 1 shots too often, or in the case of Plague when ppl dont cleanse. Instead of scoring 2 loads of chaser points per chase, you only get 1...
-
@Lucian said:
Just curious, why is it so hard for Killers to rank up but so easy for Survivors?
Certain killers lose out on chaser points due to how the game defines what a chase is. Typically you get chaser points 2 times while chasing a survivor. Youd get them for hitting to injure, then again for hitting to down. A killer who's power bypasses that loses out on chaser points. If I use Hillbillies saw to bring you from healthy to downed, I dont get the same chaser points as I would from using my mallet to hit you twice. Similarly, if a survivor steps in Trappers trap, and gets scooped up... thats again a lack of chaser points.
This is an example of a game where I kept finding and downing ppl instantly, then hooking them up. This game consisted of 2 mallets and 3 saws, which gave me a 4k in about 2 minutes. Notice my complete lack of chaser...

I mean, yes. But who plays frank anyway? 😂
According to the logic of "common" you SHOULD see Poop mask Frank all the time. Susie on the other hand is "rare".
-
The experienced players you speak of have typically have gotten good enough at whatever different killers they play to stay competitive. If your watching Scott Jund's videos, you'll notice one example of this.

Probably because they needed a fixed spot, and the coats wave around.

That's why I changed my wording after I wrote it, lol.
I think it has to do with any outfit that has a coat. The different placement is probably their attempt at avoiding the coat covering them up.

Yeah, people have been known to hack consoles.

Either the shroud literally did nothing or you faced a speed hacker, lol. Normally would take a leatherface a little over 10 seconds to reach you if he went straight at ya, but hackers gotta ruin it for all of us.

Thats impressive seeing how the offering would place you roughly 90 meters away from him. Those 2 maps are both pretty large lengthwise.

Dbd I think Is slowly deteriorating. It's not gaining players and no advertisements for it. Dbd needs a operation health and I think if either the fanbase demand it or youtubers and streamers start demanding it it will happen. It's sad isnt it.
Its actually been gaining players based off the steam charts. Compared to where it was at at March of this year with an average playerbase of 16k ppl on at any given time, its currently sitting pretty at about 23k ppl online. With the release of DBD on the windows store as well as more ports OUTSIDE of PC, its actually doing pretty well growing.

I didn't know that was even possible for the Entity to reject offerings. I guess I assumed they'd just cancel each other out. What does that look like ingame?
Typically anytime offerings either conflict or stack, they shake on the offering screen. If one person uses a shroud of binding and another a shroud of separation for example, whichever one doesnt get used up returns to the players inventory.

As I said, I've spawned and heard a killer's TR 2 or 3 seconds after. Vigo's is useless.
Im not saying thats not possible. A killer with a 32m TR spawning in the middle of "The Game" which has 64X64 dimensions is going to have their heartbeat heard by everyone on the map right away. Im just saying on average...Thats less likely to occur on any given map if youre spawning across the map. Also, being in TR doesnt even mean much alot of times considering how large the TR can be.

They're still gonna place a portal near a gen they spawned at then go directly to the gen on the other side of the map to place a portal there most likely.
Either way, Vigo's Shroud is worthless even with just killers walking from point A to point B.
Demogorgon is likely to be placing portals at key locations, similar to how Trapper or Hag has setup times. Vigos would place you in generally the safest spot you could go to. You could make the argument that ANY location is worthless if the killer beelines straight at you, but the killer doesnt really have anymore reason to completely cross the map than to checkout other possible spawn locations.
-
@Atrushan88 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/881529#Comment_881529
Some use Shred to travel from point A to point B, and most of the time you're gonna place portals far apart.
With the cooldown period of shred, its not anymore effective at map travel than walking. Thats why they increased that cooldown abit after Demo's PTB release.

I feel alot of people go into a match with the intent of farming challenges that DONT specify it has to be done in 1 match. You have about 2 weeks to get each tome done before the next one unlocks, so theres no rush to get it done in 2 days. If you only get 2 unhooks per match, thats fine...whatever. You dont have to go for EVERY unhook.
As far as the dark sense one...I did that one abit late after hearing the horror stories of others on these forums. Maybe its just due to my stealthy nature and naturally being a gen jockey, but I got it done in my first game.

Vigo's Shroud is quite possibly the most worthless offering survivors have anyways. Every time I use it trying to be immersed I feel it's a wasted offering.
Scenario 1: "Oh look, it's a Hillbilly, yay my offering was pointless..."
Scenario 2: "Oh look, it's a Demogorgon, wasted again..."
Scenario 3: "Oh wowie, Wraith. Vigo you're such a troll."
Scenario 4: "Oh, a Spirit...is there ANY killer who this works against?"
Scenario 5: "Oh, I spawned next to the killer's Ruin...hmmm...."
I'm actually tired of thinking up how many possible scenarios Vigo's Shroud screws you over. Had one game, I used it, and the killer was a Leatherface, still managed to get to me almost instantly after using it, on Crotus Prenn. Heard his TR like 2 or 3 seconds after I spawned in.
How does Demogorgon really have an effect in this situation?

Possibly killer shrouds shouldn't be hidden, though. Survivors know as soon as they load in whether they've started the trial separately or not, so it's not like it's a huge secret.
And even if in theory it might help to disguise whether the killer has a mori or not, everyone always assumes that hidden offerings are moris anyway, so in practice all it does is encourage people like those in the OP to dodge shroud offerings.
I just remember a game I had as Bubba where I saw 2 survivor secret offerings. Had a hunch it was to spawn together+far away from me. Was the shortest Bubba game ive ever had as these guys all spawned in the maps worst bottle neck. Game lasted MAYBE 2 minutes. That was off a hunch due to me knowing each possible shroud's effect. If someone is strait up TOLD where the survivors would spawn...
-
Feel like alot of times, they might actually be legit DCes and no one is trying to dodge anything. The amount of DCes ive seen from people loading in with completely normal offerings is astounding.

Well I think it comes down to the fact that higher priced items aren't gonna be used/seen as much as there aren't a lot of people who would pay 10 dollars for an outfit. Not saying there aren't any (I'm one of them), I'm just saying higher priced cosmetics are rare in the sense that that not very many people buy them.
Plenty of these cosmetics are available with shards though, like the one in the picture. Theyre actually gonna attract MORE ppl than the ones that look like a slightly different colored legion skin. How many ppl have you seen use THIS...
vs THIS...
-
You could try switching it up and playing the other half of the game. Im a killer main, but have been hammering out survivor matches for the archive challenges I'm behind on these past few days. I can honestly say I've found the experience QUITE enjoyable, even when I die. Currently sitting pretty at rank 5 survivor after playing MOSTLY soloQ.

Commons are obviously reskins now for other ones I have no idea why those are common
That would imply that its easier for me to click and buy a "common" than to click and buy a "rare"
Somehow the power of the entity just makes clicking the button to buy this WAY harder than buying the one under it...
Point being, price doesnt equal rarity. There is an equal amount of both items...that being INFINITE
-
I never understood the "rarity" of cosmetics. Whats the difference between a "common" cosmetic that I can buy in the shop with shards and a "Rare" cosmetic I can buy in the shop with shards? The answer... Price. "Rarity" on cosmetics has nothing to do with actual rarity.

Legion, for one. Spirit started seeing it.
I'm pretty sure original Freddy also had massive amounts of DCs against him before he was gutted. I wasn;t around back then though.
Currently, Freddy is seeing it again.
When ppl talk about OG Freddy nerfs, they typically bring up the load of negative steam reviews following his release about how hes OP and all you can do is loop him.

Also I'd like to point out that I, and plenty of others, tbag for many reasons besides BMing..
- to say thank you when a killer let's you go
- to say thank you after a survivor heals you
- to say sorry after you miss a skillcheck
- to say hello at the beginning of the match when you first see another survivor
- to say hook me to the killer when you're farming
I'm not saying people who incessantly spam tbagging, emotes and clicking just to be a dick don't exist. But there are plenty of times I tbag that I'm not trying to upset anyone, even if I do it to the killer. It might be hard to differentiate between the two sometimes, but if you start getting worked up at every single instance of tbagging, clicking or emoting then it might be time to take a deep breath.
I typically point to a hook when trying to get them to hook me. I know many people use t bagging to convey many meanings, but I still get nervous i'll be misinterpreted when im thanking a killer for letting me go that they'll think im being rude and smack me down to hook me.

I mean Alert is a good perk, but nobody's going to pick her for it when they can have 5 chase/second chance perks on Laurie and Bill.
So... after you brought up Alert last night I decided to try it out... It is AWESOME, lol. Getting a notification everytime a killer kicks a gen is EPIC in that I started screwing with killers by tapping gens as I go to make an unhook or something. Even if the gen is at 0.0001% done, for some reason Ive seen alot of em still take the time to kick it later on, and I get a little chuckle.
-
If your playing ghostface, try either stealthing in for an easy first hit, stalking for an instadown...or both. If your chasing someone without doing any of this, you're gonna have a hard time.If they make it to a strong loop you dont want to chase them at, you're free to stealth up and either leave them or try for another sneaky hit.

Doctor and Amanda or legion and Amanda
Amanda put the reverse bear traps on they get activated her partner whether it be Doctor or the legion basically wastes their time so they are unable to do boxes.
Doctor: gets you into Madness 3 literally meaning you cannot take off the trap until you snap out of it. As long as he keeps the pressure up he could force you into a situation where you be unable to snap out of it.
Legion: they literally just have to keep you mending you're forced to have two decisions if you don't mind mhen you're going down them you're just going to be picked up and hooked however if you do mend and then you're wasting time that you could use to get that RTB off.
Honorable mention for Hag as she could literally just put her traps at jigsaw boxes and smack you away if you ever try to touch it and then just block the box if you go to a different one she teleports to that one and just repeats the process
Doc could just use "railgun" addons to keep shocking the boxes, lol.

Honestly I don't mind the occasional BM I just feel like a lot of people need to realise that it might be ok to push buttons but if you're going to push someone's buttons and you end up annoying them to your detriment you really have no one to blame other than yourself.
Basically survivors if you're going to be in the killer and they end up getting irritated so camp or tunnel you for it yeah it's probably your own fault.
Killers if you choose to be cocky and decide to BM a survivor and that ends up getting you screwed over because of a flashlight save, pallets stun or decisive strike you deserve a full hearty butt dance
But no matter what happens in a game as long as you don't personally attack a person that's all good.
Not too long ago, I let the last survivor crawl to the hatch, only to close it in their face... My reward... An adrenaline, followed by a key escape, lol
