We need a meta shift, but not a braindead one like old DS, Dead Hard and Iron Will.
-
The problem is that survivors use map offerings of Realms they know are unbalanced for killer. Apart from Autohaven and MacMillian (arguably, maps like Gas Heaven, Blood Lodge, Groaning Storehouse and Suffocation Pit are super survivor sided as well), every single map offering on the video is for the match to play on a bad map for killer. Balance the maps, and suddenly the map offerings aren't a problem anymore.
-
Oni activating Blood Fury.
-
Was and still is Nurse.
-
As basically half of people here said... NOED and Dead Hard, not even a discussion.
-
The problem is that DBD is kind of a paradox right now. The higher your MMR is, the less skillful your games tend to be. People stop relying on chases, tracking and hiding skills to just let meta perks and unfun tactics (camping, tunneling, holding W early, doing gens as efficient as possible) do the work for them. The only solution for that is for devs to truly balance the game in its basekit form and nerf the ######### out of meta perks so they go from "immensively game changing" to just "slightly help".
-
Of course it's a tactic. That's like saying "restrict or prohibit survivors to do gens when Freddy is the killer because it limits his teleport!!!". If you want to counter it just drop the survivor and teleport or run the longer box solving addons.
-
You realize very few people would play this mode, right? Queues would be half an hour long and there's no reason for BHVR to invest on something only a minority wants.
-
Now that Spirit is dealt with Iron Will needs a hard nerf. Survivors shouldn't be able to simply delete a game mechanic by equipping a perk. It gives free distance without any input and it's absurd how every Undetectable killer perk has one thousand conditions to work and Iron Will is just there "lulz".
It also has a power creep problem. Any stealth perk that gets released is automatically obsolete compared to IW. There's no reason to run Fixated, Off the Record, Pebble, Dance with Me, Lucky Break Self Preservation, Urban Evasion, etc when this perk exists.

It's fine. You can see blood, scratch marks, and hear footsteps. Use your eyes.
Two of them are unreliable as hell and the last one is muffled by the numbing chase music.
-
Blight and Huntress. Basically all of their addons (except for Adrenaline Vial ofc) have some kind of use and add something meaningful to their kits.
@Wiitab360 said:
I was thinking Pyramid Head or Blight. They're not all necessarily good add-ons, but there is a lot of variety.
How does PH have variety? Every single one of his browns to greens are just variations of the same effects (range, recharge, duration, trails and Killer Instinct).
-
The nerf does nothing against her strongest playstyle which is short phasing. She's still too fast for any kind of reaction from the survivor in close range. The nerf only affects the Spirits who mainly do long phases which are not optimal for the high level play anyway.
Although I'd say Blight is now 100% better than her now, especially with the nerf to most of her addons.
-
Blight. He literally uses a crutch to hit the survivors.
-
Just take the hat off and do Plaything later? She's already a stealth killer, so you should always be observing the surroundings. It's a good synergy on her, but it's not even close to overpowered (a word that gets thrown around in the forums a lot btw).

GOTTA GET THAT CHEST

Sounds accurate to me.
I actually found your profile on the statistics site (hope you don't mind) and it says you put 215 hours on DBD in the last two weeks. That's almost 15 hours and a half of DBD per day.
-
My build on Freddy is BBQ, Corrupt, Save the Best for Last and Bambozlee. A little bit of early game slowdown, tracking and then two perks that help me down survivors faster. You could go for more slowdown but he's kind of a mediocre killer in chase so he definitely needs to compensate it with perks imo. It doesn't matter if you run Ruin, Pop, Corrupt and Tinkerer if you can't down survivors fast.
For addons I go for double teleport cooldown, but honestly it barely affects my games. His addons are super trash now, so go for whatever. The one that gives Blindness is quite solid if you're going against solos.
-
It's a super boring map. You have to break like 10 walls just to make the map playable and then the loops are super unsafe. It's also a Blendette paradise and the main building is one of the most annoying to deal with.
-
I still would like a reasoning why the FOV in this game is exactly 87 degrees. Since the UI change (that they never fully fixed btw) playing killer with that FOV feels like a mobile game. I think it's stupid that a survivor can literally crouch in front of your face and you can't see it without moving the camera.
-
Facebook groups and the official DBD Discord are great places.
-
Strong killer with a skillful but counterable chase mechanic. It's always skill vs skill against Blight, where both sides can outplay each other, just like with Nurse. Compare it to killers like Spirit or Slinger whose chase mechanics are strong not because of potential, but because their chases are based on taking off information from the survivor.
-
I love it but sometimes it gives me super anxiety seeing survivors spawning on separated gens, just like it does seeing two Discordances in opposite sides of the map.
-
That's a PS problem, not a DBD one.
-
No. Infinite Lucky Break, Distortion and medkits for half of the map is not balanced in any way. Sure the killer can disable them, but if he has to drop a chase to snuff out a totem then the perk already did a great job.
Either make consecutive blessings take longer (first is 14 seconds, then 24, then 34, and so on) or tone down the effects of both Circle of Healing and Shadow Step. And even then I will stand by my point they are unnecessary mechanics which add another form of pressure on a role that doesn't need it. They are very low risk-high reward perks.
The worst about it all is that boons are the type of perk that I hate the most: the ones that are mediocre for solo queue at best, but making playing against SWF even harder.
Edit: another way of making them more balanced is implement a change I always asked since I started playing the game: make totems never spawn in range of generators. Totems should be something the survivors have to actively look for, not something you can find while searching the objective.
-
That's what happens when you make a MMR based on a series of "1v1s" instead of a 4v1.

I've played for 3-4 hours today and around 80% of those matches were hilariously onesided in favor of the survivors. I can't take this constant abuse anymore, there need to be changes immediately. The game is too survivor sided in its current state, the current matchmaking merely cemented this.
I wish the data they revealed on the last stream didn't include the old matchmaking system. If the kill rate was 53% at the time, and nearly everyone who plays killer says it has become harder since SBMM, I wonder how survivor sided the stats are right now with MMR.

@Mooks said:
Because the Mori nerf was just a number change of an offering.
The key change was still more complex and the mechanics/code behind it had more behind them with potential bugs etc.
also the Mori change was still announced months before actual change i think? It’s just that it was not tested in PTB but was then put into the game without a definite date announcement
Except the key change was just a number change as well. They literally just changed the spawning condition of hatch, just like they changed the activation condition of Moris. Sure, they added the new key animation, but I think everyone agrees that wasn't the most important part of the nerf, and I doubt they took a year to do a 2,5 second animation.
-
I like doing 360s while fatigued with Nurse. It's kind of funny seeing TTVs react to that.
-
There's literally no other use for that addon. Either you place your portals on gens/hexes, or just use another one instead.
-
I put around 1500 hours on console before moving to PC and imo Nurse is still the best. Yeah, she's 10 times harder to play on a controller, but she doesn't really have a limitation of what she can do like Blight or Trickster. You can't really do the fancy things like flicking your blinks, but those are unnecessary to do well (kind of like J flicks were unnecessary with Blight). Overall she plays the exact same on console, aside from the performance issues. Watch old footage of SupaAlf when he played on PS4 and you'll notice what I mean.
-
Nope. The first Plaything that gets destroyed will be transfered, but then Undying is gone. You'd be better running Retribution or TOTH (although TOTH is getting nerfed soon).
-
I think the high queues for killer after SBMM are due to the win condition they explained on the last stream. A killer who gets a 1k gains the same MMR as a survivor who escapes, so it's easier to get to a high MMR as killer than it is as survivor.
-
That's what happens when you make all the other 22 killers rely on survivors' mistakes. I wish I could play more Huntress (my fav killer) but I don't want to stack slowdowns just so I can have a chance, so I stay around messing up with Nurse. Maybe I'll try playing Blight soon so I can run the basic ######### build.
-
Nurse. I thought I would never learn her power and I actually spent almost 2 years without barely touching her before I finally dedicated some time and now she's becoming my most played killer.
-
There are tons of things which are disliked by overall the entire community, so I doubt. Just look at the Billy fiasco.
-
Her addons pretty much got the Nurse treatment where she only really has 3 or 4 useful ones and the rest are gimmicky ones which will work maybe 1 out of 5 times.
Funnily enough her strongest combo, Mother Daughter Ring + Yakuyoke didn't get nerfed, and I have at least 200 of each so there's no reason for me to run any other combo. I wish they had nerfed MDR and Yakuyoke and kept her green or at least yellow speed/duration combos.

@ThiccBudhha said:
Well, with how boring she makes the game for survivors, it is only fair.
I hope survivors always get trash perks then from how boring Iron Will/Dead Hard are.
-
Shadowborn and Kindred
-
Trapper imo is far from being the worst killer if you use good addons on him. His basekit sucks, but he has some insane addons going for him.
-
5% MS is something very risky to mess with. Anyone who plays both 110 e 115 killers know it's a world of difference. I think there are other ways to buff these lower end killers, although something like 117,5% for them would be okayish.
-
50% winrate means 2k on average. Maybe you're more between the two that die than the two that escape.
-
The worst thing is that everybody said "the key rework will take time, it's not a simple number change" when people questioned why weren't keys nerfed alongside Moris. A year passed and how they finally nerf it? Simple number change.

^^^^^^ Why play Hag/trapper/Plague that requires WERKWERKWERK when you can play Blight/Spirit/Nurse for EZZZZZZZZZZZ M O D E
Hag requires work lol. Just draw a triangle on the ground and hit ctrl and M1.
-
I'm going to get her just for the perks. When I heard the survivor was going to be a witch I was hoping for the first old female survivor, instead we just get another pretty girl in her 20~30s that seems to have come out of 2013 Tumblr.
-
If you get 12 downs per game using Shred, that's around 1500 games on 41 days, or 36~37 games per day as Demo.
-
Probably a teaser for the new tome.

completely countered if survivors are doing gens together with prove thyself. That means there is less chances any other gen will have decent progress so you better use discordance to make it woek better.
In my experience this perk sucks
Rushing gens together with PT is only effective when there are only 1 or 2 gens remaining and Deadlock counters that by blocking one of 3/4. It doesn't help at the start, but that's why Corrupt is on the build.

Yes basically. I hate corrupt so much and feel it's so over rated it's not funny. I did a test on stream. I ran corrupt and we paid attention to gens after the first down(we averaged about 38 seconds for the night. To find the first survivor. Get a fast down. Hook them and go to a gen) Literally every game a gen popped on our first down. Or was at minimum 50 %. So it's like.....WHAT value did I get from it exactly..? Gens either popped or were far along
Would much rather find them ASAP at whatever gen they spawn at. And start my snowball and force them off gens that way. No corrupt needed.
Corrupt is a perk that I notice a huge difference when taking it off. It's the most consistent perk to get your first down before a single gen pops, and you'll never have 2-3 popping on the first hook. It takes a bit of zoning to use it well, because your first chase should preferably be taken on the side which is not blocked.

@landromat said:
Dead lock works 4 times, and is not guaranteed to lock the gen survivors are currently working on so sometines it does nothing, so it actually works even less times than 4
Really? how do you think that's a good perk?
The gen with most progress is usually:
- A gen survivors are working right now;
- A gen survivors want to finish.
It's incredibly rare for survivors to work on a gen for a decent amount and just leave it be. It can happen, but from my experience running this combo the perk is super consistent and it slows survivors down a lot. The best thing is that it works better when it activates the third and fourth time, as it prevents survivors ganging up on the last gens.
