Trickster's power is flawed by a simply mechanic: laceration decay. The fact the decay exists means he's forever going to be a tunnel visioned killer.
-
The data they showed yesterday demonstrates how effective the Clown rework was.
-
Agreed. Get rid of the stun and just make the killer move slower. Great suggestion!
-
They are still stupidly strong. Free Lucky Break, Distortion and medkits on half of the map is still too strong imo. People who say "just break the totem, it takes 2 seconds" are the same who said "just eat the DS, it takes 5 seconds" when you could still work on gens with DS active.
-
I used to be a both sides player, then solo survivor got stale and frustrating and I started maining killer, then SBMM came and now I only play Huntress and Nurse. Now I'm considering only playing Nurse. Guess I got the other way around lol.

Lol casual at the same time having a competitive mindset? Pick one.
Both are possible at the same time. I can play a fighting game casually and still want to win my fights. Same thing with DBD.
"Casual" just means the player uses DBD a way to pass free time and not as a job, it has nothing to do with how he plays.
-
The stats don't seem to track MMR though. It says it's only from July up to September and MMR was active by Sept 8th.
-
So instead of having a base game slowdown and nerf the meta perks for more build variety you're happy we're going to keep the 3-4 slowdowns meta? Big brain.
-
It seems more of a matter of trash survivors.

I...sort of agree, but it would require such a massive, from-the-ground-up reworking of not only perks, but the entire flow and speed of the game that it's sort of a fait accompli at this point.
Playing without regression/generator info perks on a killer that has limited map presence is horrific, especially on larger or more vertical maps. Survivors can just rotate on and off gens and, assuming that skill is relatively similar on both sides, the gates will be open before you get your second kill unless you get very lucky patrolling.
Yeah I agree with you. It's kind of a dream because I know it's impossible with the rate devs change things. They also said today that they don't intend on changing core mechanics that much so perks will remain being band aid fixes for those.
-
I don't like how impactful perks on this game are. The difference between having Ruin or Pop compared to not having them is huge and it makes running other perks kind of "meh". I think perks should be good but not that game changing, imo the ideal level are perks like BBQ and STBFL where they provide strong effects but they aren't super insanely S tier perks.
Of course this applies to both sides. Dead Hard and Iron Will alone make literally every other chase or stealth focused perk obsolete.
-
I love Nurse, she needs some QoL improvements. She's probably the most skillful killer in the game. If I lose as her I never feel robbed because survivors split up and pre-dropped pallets, I know it's 100% my fault.

Oh so mmr punishes you if you are "skilled"?
In short yes. Hold that M1 button, friend.

So mmr is basically the old system for survivor?
It's actually worse, on the old system you could still pip after dying if you did enough altruism, totems and chases, while someone who only repaired gens and escaped would only black pip (or even lose a pip).
-
40 minute game as Nurse on RPD last week.

I hate it. I prefer to die in the end of my match because I helped someone to escape, but now, as the OP said, it makes no sense.
The MMR should be based on time: time repairing, time healing, being chased... So a Survivor who does a bit of everything earn MMR, instead of hiding the whole game and earning MMR while escaping.
I don't know actually if based on time spent on tasks is a good idea, but everything seems bettet than "escape and you're a god player".
The funny thing is that the old emblem system actually had that. You could only pip if you actually did things besides repairing and hiding, so it was better before.
-
So it's as everyone thought. A survivor who loops a killer for 5 gens and gets facecamped with NOED at the end actually loses MMR, while the Claudette hiding in a corner actually gains MMR.
"Skill based" though.
-
100% sensitivity always.

Αs he should. The uncloak speed boost was insane.
Nerf needed 100%.
It wasn't "insane". It only works on short and medium sized loops. Whatever.
-
They should nerf a bit of the box and buff his 1v1 to compensate. Hoarder Pinhead is strong but it feels unrewarding winning with all that much free map pressure, 0 effort on the killer part. However, without something to help you get the box, he's easily bottom of C tier, that's why they should buff the 1v1 to compensate.
-
Basekit Wraith is now weaker in chase than the old one due to the uncloaking speed nerf. Good job BHVR.
-
Of course. Why use your brain trying other perks when these two exist and give you free distance in chase with 0 effort?

Sprint Burst is stronger and this is not even a discussion IMO. Sprint Burst makes every area safe, this is not the case with Dead Hard. You can be in the biggest Deadzone, DH does exactly nothing, Sprint Burst means you are safe. Let alone that it is more frustrating to see Survivors sit on a Gen until the very last second, just to see them zoom off without any risk at all.
When Balanced Landing got nerfed, the players replaced it with DH or Sprint Burst (and some probably with Lithe), if DH gets nerfed, there would be so many Sprint Bursts, it would not be funny at all.
Sprint Burst requires a time efficiency that very few players know how to use. Most SB users either walk around 80% of the match, being essentially dead weight, or don't have the perk when needed. DH is usually available (unless instadowns) and just requires the press of a button.
Also SB is barely a chase perk. It won't help countering killers' mindgames, or make you dodge things like hatchets, shots, blinks, etc.
SB has potential to be stronger than DH, but that requires a lot of training on the perk unlike the second one which any monkey could learn how to use.

If you play "just for fun" with your Huntress, how long before you get lowered in MMR to a point where you are getting 2 kills / 2 escapes on average?
Idk, I've been playing everyday since MMR launched and still don't get this.
-
Just my last comment on this. I actually get way easier survivors with my Nurse, like the type of ones who camp pallets against her and greed gens against a killer that teleports. Probably because my games with her are usually short and it doesn't raise my MMR. What a proper functioning system :)
-
If boons come out on their current form there will be literally no reason to run any hex besides the trap ones like Haunted and Retribution. They will be obsolete.

What I don't understand is BHVR actually give you the ability to play at any skill level you want to play at. If you want to play for fun, then you can play for fun and SBMMR will balance the game around you?
If you don't believe me, that was my last match of yesterday after I lost 4 games in a row with Huntress. I actually decided to put a slowdown perk on this just so I could have a match lasting longer than 7 minutes.
How is this "balanced around me" in any way? I'm running frickin Shadowborn and brown addons against meta #########. My chases were all around 30~40 seconds (a good time), but it doesn't matter because I didn't camp or tunnel anyone, so gens were finished in 5 minutes anyway. I literally lost the match on the lobby screen.
You know the better? I'm 100% sure when I load into the game today I'll keep facing these teams.
Again, SBMM is useless on an unbalanced game.

I don't know where you've seen that but it doesn't. I can play with meme builds the entire week and get stomped and still get matched with high MMR survivors that continue to stomp me. That's what actually happens with my Huntress, my main killer on which I run no slowdown perks. If you watch streamers that run non-meta builds they also rarely have balanced matches.
MMR doesn't notice if you're playing "for fun" or not. If you're just decent with a killer/survivor you just keep getting paired with decent/good players, but these players are now trying to win at any cost.
The only way to "balance the game around you" is to throw games on purpose, but if that's the case the system is a failure.
-
SBMM on a still unbalanced game was a mistake. Sure you can still hold your own on high MMR but for that to happen you have to resort to unfun and unskillful tactics like proxy camping and tunneling. Not even mentioning that for survivors it's way more efficient to literally just run forward and keep pushing gens than it is interacting with the killer. I can keep an average of 2k or even 3/4ks just straight up camping and tunneling everyone and using NOED, but where's the fun and skill on that?
Scrap the system, balance the game around the fun and skillful aspects (chases, killer-survivor interaction) and then add it again, because right now it feels you're punished for getting better on the game.
-
Unfortunately not, but they should give a forfeit option when bleeding out.
-
Iron Grasp, completely outshined by Agitation.
-
That's just the nature of assymetrical games. Having two completely different sides (killers and survivors) is kind of like having a political spectrum. My suggestion is that you close the endgame chat or turn off the messages on your platform and just pretend the people you're playing against are bots. If you want to make friends in game places like Reddit or Discord are way better.
-
He was always an overrated killer after the rework, the nerfs just pushed him into C tier instead of the low B he was. M1 killer with very mediocre anti-loop and good mobility, but nowadays he's outshined by Pyramid Head, Demo, Wraith, Nemesis and Pinhead.
The problem is how boring he is to play as and against. The only reason to play him is if you like the movies and even then there's nothing about Freddy that reminds you of the serial killer, and playing against him is super obnoxious because he's just a worse Clown in chase that has stupid synergy with slowdown perks. He honestly deservers another rework.
-
I play something else, usually some sort of Soulsborne because I'm a masochist and I like games that make me suffer.
-
Huntress: Matryoshka Doll (Iridescent).
Every hatchet you hit a survivor with is instantly reloaded.
Increases the time it takes to reload by 200%.

Yes.
FBI OPEN UP
-
They still haven't put the most recent OSTs on Spotify and it bothers me a lot. I think it only has up to Plague.
-
No, I'm addicted to BBQ, Discordance and Nurse's Calling. Every single one of my builds has at least one of those, sometimes even two.
-
I think it should consider hooks but chases is something way more complicated. A 30 second chase near a 3 gen is way better than a 10 second one on the corner of the map.

I'd like the link to those made-up Killer Main statistics.
Funny of you to accuse someone of made-up statistics when your post itself says Nemesis is overperforming because of zombies with no data besides your own personal experience.

Yeah, downside will work
Also I think blight needs longer power cooldown depending on amount of tokens spent, just like Bubba and Nurse
Eh, he does have that already. If you use all 5 tokens it takes 10 seconds to get the ability to rush again back.
-
I think those addons should have some sort of downside like Engravings on Billy by making the Rush token recharge slower. And yeah, Ring is busted. Kind of ironic how they did an addon pass to Blight this patch and his addons actually received buffs. Makes me wonder if someone at BHVR hates Hillbilly because god forbid if he can charge up his chainsaw 20% faster.

Thanks for the info - I genuinely dislike the steamrolls, you know? I just hope this stuff gets sorted out, and that anyone else having more specific experiences than 'sweat squads' (which I personally enjoy) can share their consternation without getting dismissed off-hand.
Yeah, I also don't like steamrolling solo teams with the S tier killer, but at least I try my best running meme perks on her and trying to 2 hook everyone before killing. It would be good to have consistent games against good survivors, but anything is better than the sweat squads I swear you.
-
Might be a bug or just MMR being MMR. The killers I play the most are Huntress and Nurse. With Huntress I consistently get nothing but sweat squads with 4 meta builds and games always finish in less than 10 minutes, sometimes with only 3~4 hooks even though my chases are usually <30 seconds.
Meanwhile with Nurse it's the opposite, I keep steamrolling 3~4 lobbies in a row before I finally find a challenging one. I win way more with her and I still get paired with the obvious solo teams running Self Care and doing adepts. This actually made me consider only maining Nurse even though my favorite killer is still Hunty Mommy.

It quite literally does matter lmao in the situation where they would have to be cleansing 4 totems the survivors had to go and find took a MINIMUM of 56 seconds, not to account for time searching for the totems. All while ruin was letting killers keep doing their usual thing. Hexes don't require set up or placement, it requires you just to equip them and they have a map wide strong effect. Boons require the survivor to go find a totem, then spend the time setting it, then heading back to gens, while also alerting the killer that they have been placed, and being very loud and alerting as to where they are placed. Once again, the killer really does nothing and can take them out, which requires survivors to use more time again to set them up. It is literally slowdown for the killer, the tradeoff though is that survivors get a buff for doing bones. I'm not saying they don't need touched up on, they definitely shouldn't be able to stack. But if the totems got destroyed when the killer snuffed them, it would mean that is one less thing the survivor will have on their mind and they will do gens, it is the same mindset with the broken status effect, if they can't heal, what are they gonna do?
I just want to say that Ruin + Undying didn't guarantee survivors had to cleanse it 4 times. This usually seldom happened as it was the worst case scenario. Most of the time you had to cleanse 2 or 3 as Undying could be found first than Ruin.
-
The threat of DS is what makes the perk strong. If the perk was disabled for a week you'd see almost every killer hitting the person that just got out of the hook for the period.
-
I alternate between Huntress, Nurse and a random killer. Usually something like Huntress, Nurse, Blight, Huntress, Nurse, Oni, Huntress, Nurse, Pyramid, etc. I used to play solo queue but it sucks nowadays.

Shadow step boon:
Up to 4 can be active at a time (4 survivors.)
Can be reapplied by up to 4 survivors (spammable.)
Can cleanse a hex totem whilst blessing said totem (2 actions at once.)
In addition to removing scratch marks, it counters a bunch of killer perks rendering them mostly wasted slots, including an actual one-time use, supposedly “high risk high reward” hex perk.
This is fine.
Thanks for talking about it. Everybody is talking about Circle of Healing, but imo Shadow Step is way more broken.

@[Deleted User] said:
Snuffing a totem out is much quicker and easier than cleansing/blessing a hex totem.
What people don't take into consideration is that killers' time is 4 times worth a single survivor time, for obvious reasons. 2s seems very little compared to 14 it takes to bless a totem, but x4 it's actually 8 seconds, so it's still a very time consuming activity for something that can be relighted for the entire match, especially if you have to drop chases for it.
