  • They did nothing to him except remove his fun and unique aspect. He will still be as annoying as he was before to go against, but way more clunky to play. Guess that's the norm at BHVR when changing killers at this point.

I wonder if they really expect people to use an addon that makes him move 1% faster when I can just stack out double reload.

  • I wonder what the purpose of feedback is in this game. Basically everyone complained how useless the Deathslinger changes were and just made him way more unfun to play, and what do they do? Just nerf some of his addons even more to add salt to the wound. I still can't believe they shipped the change to his Terror Radius.

Now we just have another pointless high skill/low reward/low fun killer that nobody will play, hope everyone enjoys seeing Blights and Nurses all the time.

  • People who don't browse the forums or social media (which are the majority of the playerbase) haven't heard about NFTs yet.

  • I don't even know if it's a bug, but Nurse's blink hand after she does her Mori on a survivor starts "freezing" instead of "burning" like it usually does.

  • Yeah, let me just rewind time back to September 7th when literally nobody knew about this NFT situation.

  • I like the addons that increase movement speed while holding knives (it's a brown and a yellow, don't remember the names). As perks I recommend Iron Maiden and Bambozlee. Trickster isn't like Huntress, you're going to miss a lot, and the nerf to the number of knives was pretty harsh imo, so Iron Maiden helps if you for some reason need to reload mid chase. Bambozlee is simply because there are some loops like jungle gyms you can barely throw 1-2 knives before the survivor breaks LOS again, so getting rid of them is quite strong.

Side question: Does playing other FPS games help with aiming in this game?

If you're good in other FPS games you'll find DBD a joke in that regard. I always had an easier time with the aiming killers because I used to play FPS games since I was a kid and survivor movement in DBD is quite easy to track in comparison. Deathslinger for example was always kind of a no brainer for me.

  • The fact Trickster is getting a tome before Oni and Deathslinger is nuts, and I want to see more Blight too. Marketing, I guess.

where can i do my aplication? on steam or other side?

have never done sych thing so sorry if its a stupid question

There's an official website from Bandai Namco. I don't know if I can post these links here, but search for "Elden Ring network test" on YT and you'll find it. Only on consoles though.

  • Elden Ring opened applications for network testing. Reject BHVR, embrace From Software.

Better suggestion don't play the game the less players online will give them statistics that this stupid decision was a bad idea

    Agreed.

  • Everyone should either buy Mikaela with shards or not buy her at all until we have a proper response.

This thread is turning into "These are great games go play them!"

Elden Ring just opened network test applications today. A new Soulsborne is always cool!

  • I don't even know what to say. I know BHVR receives a lot of unnecessary hate but they don't help themselves by doing things like this.

  • No, but the last patch I was excited about was Silent Hill so whatever.

  • Agree. Nerf the perk so it only goes up to 4 stacks, and make the other 4 basekit :)

  • What's the problem with faking M2s? That's like saying faking a window vault should be hated. It's just a tactic.

  • Source: pls trust me.

Empathy isn't what is needed in this game when you're playing within the mechanics of the game, which include tunnelling, slugging, camping, "genrushing" and any other thing that happens in the game besides cheats and endgame chat toxicity. People on Every Single Other "Competitive" Game don't think "oh man, I really shouldn't try against these people because I don't want them to feel bad" or "I'm not playing to win, so my opponents shouldn't play to win either". People play to win on every other game that is in a competitive type setting, but when it happens in Dead by Daylight all of a sudden it's "mean" and "disrespectful". Maybe instead of basing your enjoyment off of what other people do in your game, play the way you want and enjoy it despite what others think and say. However, being toxic in endgame chat is completely ridiculous and actually unacceptable.

It's completely OK to talk about things that are actually unbalanced and what to do about them, but players' behavior is not one of them, as long as it's not abuse in endgame chat. There is such a thing as "constructive feedback" that doesn't include attacking other players based on their perk and gameplay choices.

As long as people keep basing their fun off of getting the 4k or escaping, they're never going to have fun on DbD.

As I said, the problem is that the game current meta nullifies skill. If you want to win at all costs no matter your skill, whatever dude. Feel free to play how you want, just don't blame anyone when you get 10+ minutes queues.

And this is why the community is entitled, whiny and complaining, because people think other people should be "respectful" or "kind" to the other side. No one should give a care if people respect them or not if they're playing the way they enjoy.

And besides that, perks like Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike ONLY work if the Killer lets them work. Decisive Strike is SO easy to play around after it's nerf that it's not even funny, and Borrowed Time only works if you hit the person who was just unhooked and it's only really egregious in endgame. And so what if these perks "nullify" skill? Are we really trying to say "You should only use perks that take skill, otherwise you're bad"? The ONLY perks I can think of from Survivors that "don't take skill" are maybe exhaustion perks like Dead Hard--all other perks are simply passive buffs to normal gameplay, or cheese perks. Meanwhile, Killers have many perks that "don't take skill" that are widely accepted and frequently encouraged and recommended to use, like Ruin + Undying, Tinkerer and NOED.

This BS about "skill perks", "tryhards" and "respect" needs to stop. Let people play however they want and either play meta Killers and perks to fight against it or play to have fun and enjoy the Killers you play without worrying about the outcome of every match.

I would also like to add that back before there was an Obsession every match, the matches that no one would take DS (so there would be no Obsession), the Killer would relentlessly tunnel Survivors out of the game, BP offerings or not. People were using DS less for a little while because so many Killers were pitching fits about it and that was the result. You "play nice" and not use meta perks, you get tunnelled, slugged and camped out of the game and go back to lobby with 4-8k BP. It's all cyclical--when one side plays a certain way, the other side responds in kind.

"And this is why the community is entitled, whiny and complaining, because people think other people should be "respectful" or "kind" to the other side." This is called empathy. You should learn some of it, it's actually a nice skill to have and it helps keeping this game alive. The day everybody stops caring about the other side and just brings the strongest things and using the most unfun tactics is the day this game starts declining.

I never said perks should take skill to use, but if you're running all the meta perks of course your own skill won't matter that much. I said that about perks because, from your own post, we didn't know how skillful the killer played. This apply to both killers and survivors, but as I said the survivor meta is a bit worse because survivors in basekit are already stronger than 80% of the killers. Don't believe me? Just watch Otz streaming right now demolishing killers using no perks.

Camping and tunneling exists simply because the game is too unbalanced without them. You simply can't have a balanced game without using these tactics unless the survivors are really, really, really bad. Even if you down survivors insanely quick, gen speed is so fast by the time you're still getting your 4th or 5th hook all gens are popped. DS and BT are meta because they deal with the only thing killers have against good survivors.

I know these are unfun tactics and I'm all for making them more punishable, but not until survivors' objective efficiency is addressed.

  • She's fine. Nurse and Blight are the only killers who can make games skill vs skill, instead of "man I hope these survivors don't hold M1 on gens very fast". If I'd change anything about her it would be:

    1. Make Recharge and Range addons not stack;
    2. Make Blink attacks not count as basic attacks.
  • Lucky Break is still extremely strong and imo they buffed it the wrong way. It's just that it takes more than 2 braincells to use it effectively unlike the current survivor meta.

But it doesn't really matter, Shadow Step is coming and that one is way stronger than LB.

Any killer is viable if you're good enough, a really good nemesis could have easily won a match like this because of his tentacle and zombies. Survivors really aren't as strong as you say they are haha play solo q and you will see

I do play solo and escape most of my games. Especially now with MMR where my teammates are not potato brains anymore.

There's not really anything a low or mid tier killer can do against 4 survivors with good loadouts unless they are way worse than the killer. You can literally down survivors in 15 seconds (an extremely fast chase for a Nemesis) and still lose all gens, especially if you want to play fair without camping/tunneling.

If you really believe what you say I want to see you streaming 10 Nemesis games in a row against good survivors, although I bet you don't even play killer if you say things like that.

  • @Hippie said:

Why do Killers get upset when Survivors try their hardest to win, when they themselves frequently try their hardest to win as well? And it happens from Survivor side too, but I typically see Killer players complaining about "tryhard" Survivors the most on this forum, so this is what I'm addressing.

And just because you might not tunnel, camp or slug, doesn't mean you should expect the opposite side to just goof off and farm BP. Survivors typically try every game to escape and expect Killers to play the same, BP offerings or not. No reason to mouth off at players in endgame chat because they played the video game a certain way.

Also, is the SWF accusation just an assumption or the actual truth? Because I play solo with other solos and we've gotten results screens just like this against mediocre Killers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566313#Comment_2566313

I like how people rarely take into consideration the Killer's skill in games like this. Killer players can be bad at the video game, you know... and if you're bad, you're not going to get hooks or kills. Can't just expect easy wins with mediocre gameplay against half-decent Survivors.

Loadouts like this nullify skill. Against a team with meta perks that can do all gens in 6 minutes there's very little a killer like Nemesis can do. No matter how good you are, the survivors have to be way, way, WAY worse than the killer to lose a match like this. Everything was stacked against OP, especially because he tried to play in a more fun way for everyone, so he's in his right to be upset about it.

People complain about survivors who "tryhard" because their basekit is already stronger than like, 20 out of 25 killers. So when you equip all the meta #########, especially if you're on a SWF, you're saying "hey I want to win without effort". Sure you can play like this if you want, but don't expect people to respect you. Just like people who play Nurse or Blight with 4 gen regression perks shouldn't.

  • Learn Nurse or Blight. Spirit will soon be a pushover on high MMR.

  • This isn't even as sweaty as it can get. There's not even a key or map offering, and there's only one medkit and BNP.

Still broken though, just show how much survivors can win if they really try.

  • Camping is just as fun as being sent to Haddonfield or Badham and having all gens done in 5 minutes while you're breaking pre-dropped pallets. I'm all for changing camping, but not while survivors still have way more power than killers.

  • Dead Hard and Iron Will by far. Such zzzzzzzzzzz perks.

I never talked about meta lol and also its maybe for you cuz you are just not simply playing with it enough. Its easy to say you dont need something if you never really tried it.

I do use Shadowborn on almost every killer. It's literally a QoL life perk. I can't think of any game that I thought "man, I only won this because of Shadowborn".

  • @BenZ0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2565066#Comment_2565066

On most Killers you are right, as mention only fast mobile Killers really benefit well from a higher FOV. On other Killers its just very minor and provide you mostly just a better "view" if you like it.

Even on those killers it was never meta in any point in time. If Ruin, Pop, Tinkerer, Corrupt, etc were deleted today it still wouldn't be meta because experienced players don't need 15 degrees of FOV.

  • @BenZ0 said:

You see it the wrong way. The reason why shadow born isnt that good as a Perk is BECAUSE the competition is too strong. Perks like Tinkerer, Ruin, Undying, Pop, BBQ etc are way too strong to even slightly compare them to a bigger FOV.

However a FOV its self is very strong indeed, ppl dont really understand it but FOV doesnt simply widen your camera edges. It also puts the middle of the screen, the "cross hair" further away which is really benefinatial in terms of seeing around corners. I dont remember exactly the video title but there was a guy who made comparisons on simiulations and he has proven that you can see around corners faster with a higher FOV.

Now imagine Killers that can move very quick and down survivors also fast for example Oni, Blight, Spirit and Nurse. A higher FOV gives these Killers the advantage to react quicker if a survivor is on the edge of the screen to give these Killers more "time" to react to it and turn their camera in the last moment.

These would buff all the meta killers and I doubt that ppl want that.

*Edit in Minecraft it is very easy to see what I mean with putting the middle of the screen further away. You can see the same on the hands or weapon of the Killer, they are not more visable only but also they appear way further away then they are without shadowborn.

Not even when the game had like 3 DLCs and the only slowdown perks were Overcharge and Thanatophobia was Shadowborn meta.

  • I recommend waiting until the next chapter to see if they get nerfed/buffed.

  • "Survivors think they are invisible, they are not." I unironically bursted out laughing at this lmao

  • I use both. Both have flaws that can be mitigated by running the other one. I'd say Corrupt is better though.

  • I saw a Nea immediately entering a locker while I used Lethal Pursuer and she said I could be arrested for hacking lmao.

  • @Clowning said:

If a Tombstone Myers corners you, you've lost. You're dead. Jumping into a locker is only a viable counter play when there's still Survivors around to save you, as it delays your own death and thus buys your team more time to finish generators. Seems to me that stubborn has been met with stubborn in this case, Myers wanted his achievement and you didn't want to die to Tombstone. Sometimes that's just how it is, but you could've moved on to the next one at any point, you've already lost the game anyway.

This. You've already lost at that point, so why not move on to the next game?

You have 150 Syringes in the current system though.

Yeah, now imagine how many I'd have if they removed perk tiers and made BP easier to get.

  • I think they should remove perk tiers so these are easier to get, but I don't think making BBQ and WGLF gains as basekit would be healthy for the game. If that was the case every survivor would be able to bring purple medkits with syringes every game and killers would always bring purple/pink addons.

I know I'm get flamed for this, but if they remove perk tiers I think removing the BP on WGLF/BBQ would be something to consider. I use BBQ all the time and it's insane I can basically play with the best addons on all my killers and never run out of them, it makes the addon/item rarity system pointless. Same for survivor, I have almost 150 Syringes on my Kate which are enough to run one every match for the rest of the year for me.

  • @Dwigtht said:

I am getting good value with Corrupt + Whispers on low mobility killers. Maybe Corrupt + Whispers + Deadlock might be good, will try that.

The reason I use Whispers -- Corrupt is not that consistent, sometimes it blocks 1 + 2 gens on opposite sides of the map and once I get there - - survivors already working on gen.

Whispers is also a good option, although I'm more of a fan of Lethal Pursuer, especially on killers like Nurse and Blight who get insane value out of an early down.

  • The worst thing is that the game doesn't tell you you're getting harder matches due to getting extra kills with NOED. At least on the old system you could visually see your rank climbing and from that point it was obvious that you were going to get better survivors.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2559827#Comment_2559827

Well...Mobility is HUGE. I can't agree bubba has faster chases. Especially if you can curve. Bubba is the better camper ofc though. I'm not sure I agree bubba is better at any loop either. Easier, maybe

Sorry but some loops are borderline impossible to curve if the survivor is not playing like a bot. Bubba with good addons is better at 90% of tiles (maybe Billy is better at 4 lanes, but just that).

  • Imagine getting another map that isn't Badham and Coldwind.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2559780#Comment_2559780

Bubba still can't touch Billy. Outside of camping of course.

He has a faster charge time and can get survivors on tiles with a single chainsaw usage on tiles Billy either can't or has to invest a lot of time. The only advantage Billy has is mobility but Bubba kind of compensates that by having faster chases and being very good at proxy camping.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2559737#Comment_2559737

Funny enough. He's still a top 5. Just not used for some reaosn

He's still very solid, just obsolete compared to Blight and Bubba imo.

  • @ThePolice said:

Well duh, why would you use undying with pop

Read the title again. I was talking about Ruin + Undying or Ruin + Pop.

    @TAG said:

    WHAT ABOUT....for Piiiiiiig?

I think she might be an exception as she gets nice value out of Hex perks, but Corrupt is still very good on her imo.

  • Yes. If they aren't going to nerf it they might as well not even record the grunts of pain for the next survivors because the majority of players right now are running Iron Will as they know it has 0 downsides. Survivors shouldn't be able to delete an entire game mechanic by equipping a perk. It just feels so weird and stupid chasing someone completely silent. No breathing, no pain, footsteps muffled by the super loud chase music, nothing.

It also has a huge power creep problem like you mentioned. There's 0 reason to run perks like Fixated, Off the Record, Self Preservation, Lucky Break, Urban Evasion, etc. You know, perks that actually require you to use your brain to get value of. Just look how Lucky Break got omega buffed recently, but people still prefer Iron Will because it requires 0 braincells to use.

But tbh I feel they are going to nerf Iron Will and Dead Hard soon. I see this combo so much right now it remembers me of old DS + Unbreakable.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I wouldn't necessarily call it thrash

The loud notification loss is a huge nerf but 28 seconds for the first totem is a hell of a long time compared to the 20 seconds it's now.

28 seconds uninterrupted might i add. Got shocked by Doctor's 60 second cooldown static blast? you just wasted your time and doctor knows where you are. If somebody doesn't cleanse the totem in roughly 35 seconds it can happen again.

Not great by any means. But killers who can interupt or find survivors easilly It won't be bad.

You're getting the values wrong here. Cleansing a totem takes 14 seconds and the new Thrill adds 50% to that. So 21 seconds, not 28. Not even mentioning it gets shorter for every dull they cleanse.

The only reason to run Thrill is the notification part, the cleansing speed was never meaningful. If you want to slowdown cleansing you can just run Thanatophobia because it at least has another functionality.

  • I remember in 2019 it was so common to see Billy that I actually used to get bored of hearing the chainsaw noise.

  • The video is cool but it really looks like those typical horror games that no one really cares about. If you remove the soundtrack and the name of the map I can tell you dozens of horror games that look exactly like this.

What makes DBD fun is the gameplay, just look how Friday had better graphics but DBD was always more popular. Messing with the entire game like that would just drive away most of the playerbase and the game would lose it's touch. Better focus on the gameplay and not the graphics.

  • This has been proved dozens of times already, since 2017 I believe. Mr. Streamer isn't doing anything new. The devs recently said they don't want to touch core game mechanics like gen speed, early game and Realm Beyond proves their interest lies rather in graphics than in balance. They don't care about players who actually invest time into this game and would rather catter to the bad players.

  • @LordSturm said:

yeah, they saw clown's bottles and they were like "wouldn't it be funny if you had to stand completely still while charging this, then aim and fire like deathslinger, and even if you hit you accomplish basically nothing?"

like if you miss it's an utter catastrophe, because half the time the chain flies off into another timezone forcing you to stand still while it does so

but even if you hit, you spent so much time standing still that the slow is fairly pointless

we literally had this exact same problem with Clown and how he slowed himself while throwing the bottle, and they were like "wouldn't it be funny if we took that and it was worse"

Clown only hinders survivors by mere 15%, while Pinhead's chains almost makes the survivor stop in place. I'm not saying his chains are super good, because they definitely could use buffs, but he's not even close to being a worse Clown.
