  • Alert is better imo. Unless it's a Nurse chances are the killer will be kicking pallets/gens all the time.

I actually don't see his increase TR as a big nerf , instead it makes the perk combo Agitation and star struck stronger. But besides that they should have given him a buff to offset his ADS nerf

I hardly see that combo as viable on him. If you expose someone 40m away there's no point because you'll have to hold W for 22m before you're able to do anything, and by the time you catch up the exposed faded away.

  • He was not my main but I did put something like 300 hours on him. I still think he's better than Pig, Legion and Myers, but this nerf was completely unnecessary.

The ADS MS buff as you said was worthless because aiming feels like crap. He already had addons that increased his speed while aiming and NOBODY used them before. His strongest playstyle is still pulling out the gun and shooting ASAP, except that it now feels like crap as well because the hitbox is super easy to dodge if the survivor wiggles and it messes up with the muscle memory I built in the last year and a half he was on the game.

Imo they should AT LEAST give us the quickscope back. Either that or make his hitbox the same as Huntress and get rid of the reeling mechanic.

  • I think this is more of a For Honor problem than a DBD one. Any player of it knows it's usually For Honor that gets the bigger end of the stick on crossovers.

  • Hope so. I can't bring myself to play during this event anymore because my gaming time is limited and I don't want to waste my time staring at infinite loadings.

  • I cannot stress enough how overrated mobility is sometimes in this game. Is it a good feature to have on a killer? Of course. But what makes killers strong is downing potential.

Want to know the best examples?

    • Nurse, although everybody likes to pretend she's a high mobility, is barely faster than a 115% typical killer when travelling in a straight line using her blinks;
    • Spirit moves a bit faster, but you should never use your entire power gauge with her just for travelling (except on some occasions) because she has a pretty long cooldown where she stays as a 110%;
    • Twins and Hag are also very strong killers who don't have good mobility compared to some others;
    • Oni's power shouldn't be used for pure mobility as well, it's supposed to be a snowball power;
    • Blight is a S tier killer not only because of mobility, but because he's power is insanely strong on tiles. That's why a console Blight will never be as good as a PC Blight, even though both have access to the same mobility. Blight is A tier on console.

Is Billy mobility any good? Of course, but unlike the top killers he can't down survivors fast enough, especially since he lost his charge addons. Curving makes him a bit better on tiles but it's super overrated sometimes, and also it pales when compared to Blight. You can easily make Billy a M1 killer on a lot of tiles, and M1 killers are weak in chase.

  • She's still bottom 3.

  • Silent Hill. It was overall bug free, great killer, great survivor, fun map (imo, I know it's generally disliked), short queues. The hype at the time was enormous and imo it was the last good release of a chapter. After the Realm Beyond everything went downhill.

That is not what was said! I said I don't feel bad for them not that they should kill them selves. Learn to read!

That is exactly what you said. Reread your comments: "What they are doing is basically what you did in the match. You put them in a bad place mentally so why should they not do the same to you."

  • We're sitting at 25 killers and 28 survivors already, it's time to slow down. They could even do bigger DLCs with 2 killers and 2 survivors instead if they don't want to miss the profit.

  • Funniest post I've read on a while. The part talking about Clown was the best.

  • Also the game is literally on a free trial right now... numbers until the 25th aren't reliable.

  • Ok, you want a pat from BHVR or something?

Im stuck in loading screen for the third time today...

Same here, half of my lobbies end up in loading screen. Great event.

  • Nope, he lost his charm and is now just a downgraded Huntress.

  • How blind can these devs be man. Everything that needed to be done was reworking both of these addons, but noooo let's buff them.

  • The 100% extra BP is just too good to pass on. They could remove the aura reading and I'd still use it.

  • Squid Game skins would be neat as hell lol.

  • Don't forget you can still combine the MDR with Yakuyoke Amulet (which was also the best combo on old Spirit). Don't know why they basically removed all of her good green addons and kept the most busted ones.

  • Spirit's change was awesome. Her potential is basically still the same while also giving survivors a better chance. Compared to DEADslinger she's fine.

  • I started doing that as well. I'll still camp and tunnel if I know it will get me a 3 or 4k, but if it's at endgame I'll just get my hook and let them have the escape.

  • @Clevite said:

I always thought MDR was overkill, probably why I have over 200 of them

But with old prayer beads and discordance, the grabs, oh the grabs, so much fun

You could almost guarantee a grab to start each match.

I miss Prayer Beads (the interaction we had until the update, not the old broken version), I don't know why they removed it as it wasn't OP or anything, but it was fun to get grabs with it.

As far as we know. Could be that Butterball will be NFT exclusive.

If that happens I'm going to tbag and flashlight click every Butterball that I see.

  • PTB, more like "Preview to Buy".

  • Same here. Half of my lobbies have infinite loadings, 1/4 of them I crash and only the rest are actual games.

I just feel like Nurse doesn’t play DBD and that’s my problem with her. I respect your opinion about her though, but she just doesn’t obey the game rules like everyone else has to.

Twins is a weird one because I like their concept, but they’re designed in a way that forces the Twins player to play in a way that’s unhealthy and unfun.

I disagree Nurse doesn't play DBD. Sure things like pallets and windows aren't as useful against her, but Nurse is probably the killer that needs to know the most about map layouts. Windows and pallets can still be used for things like baits and reverse drops, which still work against Nurse.

As someone who plays her daily there's always something new I feel I can learn, and every survivor I go against has a pattern of movement to adapt to.

I respect your opinion as well though, but I think you should probably give her another chance if Spirit is the highest tier for you.

Because he has counterplay and is interactive for both sides. He also doesn’t ignore every game mechanic and also doesn’t force the killer to play in an unfun way. Now I know Bubbas will do the basement Bubba build but that’s more a problem with the design of Insidious than it does the killer himself.

I personally find chases as and against Nurse the most interactive in the game. There's always tons of new movements and mindgames you can do, just like with Spirit, Blight and Billy.

Chases against Bubba imo are very dull. It's usually: Bambozlee window --> start chainsaw --> get a pallet or a down. Wraith is also something very similar.

Twins imo were also a very nice design and definitely underrated. They just need some tweaks to make them more fun to play as and against.

  • Mikaela overall is an uninteresting design. Worst survivor we've got in a long time.

  • I played two matches on Dead Dawg and on both I crashed. Must be something on it.

  • What's design in this case? Because I can't imagine how Bubba, a killer whose power is literally "chainsaw go brrrr", is better designed than Nurse or Twins.

Also why the discrepancy between Spirit and Nurse? I always found both to be very similar.

  • Boon Totems don't really impact the core gameplay of the game. If nobody brings a Boon perk they won't even exist, just like Hexes. It's completely fine for them to stay behind a paywall.

  • It has always been dead. It only works against solo survivors who don't run medkits.

  • The energy to produce a cotton T shirt is not even close to this, not even 10%. If you're going to troll, at least do it right.

  • @Rydog said:

He was completely miserable to play against. He could shoot you 100% outside of TR, and counterplay against him was "weave randomly back and forth and hope for the best." Yeah man, this needed to be nerfed because going against him is one of the most frustrating things in the entire game.

Old Doctor was completely miserable to go against as well and they reworked him to be stronger and more fun to go against. Making a killer fun does not mean making him weak, or do you only have fun against Legion and Myers?

  • Blood Favor is okay, but using hexes now that Boons are a thing is even more riskier.

  • Dried Cherry Blossom + Mother Daughter Ring is insane. You cover so much distance with MDR there's no way you won't see the Killer Instinct activating, it's her strongest add-on combination now imo.

  • These strategies are kind of dead since the looping meta transitioned into the hold W meta. Boon totems just made it worse. The meta now are killers who can end chases fast.

  • It still baffles me how they nerfed the 1v1 of a killer whose only thing he's good at is 1v1. Hillbilly, Nurse, Spirit, etc at least all have good 1v4 and can compensate in other areas their changes, but this guy was just barely good and they straight up made him a bad killer that's also unfun to play as.

I'll say it again. Might as well have deleted the killer and refunded the Shards/BP/Auric invested on him. Every major Slinger main that I know is dropping him, his existence is pointless now. Just like Hillbilly, he's a high skill/low reward killer, and worse, because he's now low fun as well due to removing the best feature of him (quickscope).

  • It's because the meta is brainless and doesn't require any kind of thought. Just look at the Lucky Break case, it was buffed to a super strong perk that always gives me huge value when I use it, but because it requires more than 2 braincells to use (knowing how to break LOS, knowing how to save its time), it didn't become meta.

Same case with perks like Windows, Small Game, Boons, etc. Why use these when you can just equip something like Dead Hard and Iron Will which give you immense value and require almost no thought process.

  • I don't think it's that good of a slowdown perk without the notification because, as with any Hex, it can easily be destroyed in the first minute of the match. At least you could defend it before, and at this point there's no point running it over the typical Hexes (Ruin, Devour, Haunted, etc). Sure you can use Undying to protect it, but now're running half of your perks to totem defense...

  • The best way imo is not dropping chases. Tracking will be difficult with no auras and scratch marks, and hit and run is useless while Circle of Healing is in play. I know dropping a chase is one of the skills that you learn as killer, but it is what it is. Again, the killers that suffer the most with boon totems are the weak M1 killers who can't reliably down people.

  • @Floppy said:

If you tunnel I have no sympathy for you.. simply put those types of strategies are considered underhanded and can cause frustration and bring us down. It can cause us to loose interest in the game and take away the little fun we have. What they are doing is basically what you did in the match. You put them in a bad place mentally so why should they not do the same to you. Honestly only killers who are not very good at the game do I see camping and tunneling. But if you are doing that then you deserve everything you dished out here. I rarely ever camp a survivor I main pig and if I see someone being really toxic to me I will camp them but not often. Also this seems like if they seen it. It might mentally mess with them. I find it irritating that you think others should look out for your mental state but you don't seem to care about others.

Comparing tunneling to telling another person to commit suicide, wow. How old are you? 12?

  • @Boss said:

Well i guess this is the straw that broke my back

I wonder if you have an idea of how hard it is for me to write this, and moreso for me to do this.

First, i'll write some of my problems with this game...

    • 5th Anniversary was quite the disappointment to me, which i REALLY needed to not be.
    • Hackers are going loose right now and they're showing very little care about it too. (Devs, if you read this: SHOW! SHOW that you care.)
    • And now this whole ordeal with the Hellraiser chapter.
    • Some patches & statements REALLY made me question if they know what they're actually doing, with 2 prime examples being Mcote saying: "Infinites take skill." & the patch which made Survivors able to Pallet-stun or blind the Killer at any time during the pick-up animation and it would trigger the rescue, removing any timing needed besides having to be there during the animation.
    • Survivor gameplay is VERY much the same since launch, so i got bored with that after a while, and thus i wasn't playing half of the game anyway.
    • Don't like Battle Passes, and while i didn't enjoy the Rift either, i tolerate it.
    • Linked outfits are quite terrible to me but i just didn't think about them.
    • QA more often than i'd like feels non-existant after patch releases.
    • With the current Boon Perks and more surely coming up, using Hex: Devour Hope on its own is no longer a viable option for me to generate my kind of fun, and this reason alone would surely eventually kill my desire to play DbD.
    • Crashes/freezes. No other game of mine has crashed or frozen as many times as DbD has, and crashes/freezes are a HUGE demotivator for me to play, i'm usually done playing a game for the day if it crashes or freezes.
    • Optimization for consoles is absolutely astonishing and i don't mean the good astonishing.

    But guess what?

I don't regret a single thing, because i enjoyed all of MY decisions in the game...

    • I don't regret getting all Perks on one character, as they helped keep the game fresh for me, good or bad.
    • I don't regret getting all those cosmetics, as i enjoyed making my own personal outfits and show them off.
    • I don't regret sinking so much time into this game, as it's the same as any other hobby: You sink time into it cause you enjoy it, and enjoying DbD i sure did. (Half of it, but that half was pretty damn good.)

And i am very confident i won't regret this decision either: ######### this, it's time to quit!

It's been a good run DbD, but it's time to put you to bed.

I feel no more joy starting it up and enjoyment is all i play games for.

The ONLY reason i'm not permanently deleting DbD isn't because i don't want to remove my playtime.

I've deleted many save files in multiple Dark Souls games before, all of which contained AT LEAST dozens of hours per save file.

No, the ONLY reason why i'm not doing that is cause, despite all this, it hasn't changed me: I'm still a hopeful man.

Call it blind faith, but perhaps there's a future out there where a different company buys DbD and simply does way better.

Heck, i might get into a different asymmetrical game. (Don't count on it.)

I could probably write lots more, but i don't think it's worth it, plus it's late as i write this.

Took me like 2 days to make this decision too and whenever i had free time, this decision was all i was thinking about.

Some of you will think i took way too long, some of you will think i'm overreacting and will come back soon.

Both of you could be right, both of you could be wrong, i really don't care cause this is my experience.

I'm just really ready to be done with this game now.

See y'all in other games perhaps IDK i'm not much of a multiplayer-only guy besides DbD of course.

I'll probably check on this comment again tomorrow, but i suspect i'll be done with the forums as well after that.

Man, seeing you and @Orion quit at the same time is painful, you two are the ones I think when the word "veteran" comes to mind.

  • No. Played 3 matches of him and it's the same as it was on the PTB. Slinger is dead, could just have deleted the killer and refunded the shards/BP invested on him and it would be a more honorable end.

  • They actually fixed his POV???

  • @Regulus47 said:

He was A tier at least before. Now that he can walk faster when aiming he can zone really well, and good killers will adjust to the quick scope change. I think this is a buff to really good deathslingers. It added like 0.1 second to how long you need to aim, that's nothing.

He will still be really strong, you just need to actually be good at aiming now instead of just waiting for a vault and quickscoping

"Really good" Deathslinger here. I don't main him, but I do play him almost daily since his release.

The ADS MS is USELESS. ADS feels like CRAP because of the horrid sensitivity and how easy it is to dodge his shot if the survivors strafes due to the hitbox. Try holding ADS forever and see if that helps you in any way.

His strongest playstyle will still be quickscoping, which the survivors still can't react to. He's just as annoying to go against, but way more unfun to play.

Don't forget that you can also now hold W for 14m before he's even able to do anything with his 110% ass speed. But yeah, huge buff.

  • All those huge paragraphs of feedback were literally worthless. They shipped all of his changes and just nerfed some addons to add more salt to the wound.
