  • DBD, the game you're actually punished for having good internet.

  • I think Legacies being exclusive is fine imo. Those were the people supporting the game when it was still a baby indie game, I think it's fair that they have something different from the rest of the playerbase. Event items/cosmetics are a different story because DBD was already quite well established when those happened. The Dwightcrow charm is not even a comparison, there's a huge gap between someone who played the game in the old days and grinded through it to someone who just kept watching a bunch of streams last year.

    it has to stay the same due to the licensing of the map/ it's a exact replica of the real racoon city police station from RE2 so there is nothing they could do to change it without making a dbd version of the real thing and break the licensing rules. it's the same with the other licensed maps which are. haddonfield, badham, the game, RPD, hawkins and midwich. (hawkins can be changed now however because of the loss of licensing)

    Badham has like 5 variants, and Haddonfield also has RNG. They could definitely do something to make the map more bearable. At least use the suggestion someone made above and divide the map into East and West wing.

    It is completely wrong to say that nobody likes the Map. I dont like it either, but I just accept that there are things in this game I dont like. I can also open 33 Forum Threads about it, but I wont do that. If I play on RPD (which is a rare occasion), I just play it. And next game, I will have another Map.

    However, there were players who said they loved this Map. So saying nobody likes it is as wrong as it can be.

    But it shows the mentality.. "Push it to be changed", this is happening a lot in this Forum. Mass-complaints about one thing until it gets changed and then off to the next thing to push...

    So people who find a certain thing unfun should just shut up? People who didn't like old DS, Spirit, Slinger, old Undying, instaheals, etc should just "suck it up" then? If people like RPD, let them make an omen about it. I don't like it, so I'll complain, and the high number of complaints probably show there's something wrong with it, not that people are just "pushing it to be changed".

    I doubt you have almost 10k posts on this forum and "just accept that there are things in this game I dont like". That is a lie or you're just forgetting the occasions you also complain.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    Hopefully.

    The crying is way out of proportion, it is one map, but instead of just sucking it up when someone plays on a Map they dont like, they rush to the Forums to complain, because they played 1 game out of 30 or whatever on a Map they dont like.

    This is a videogame, not some job that I have to "suck it up" things I find unfun. Of course I'm going to complain.

  • Dull Bracelet + White Nit Comb on Nurse. At least Billy can M1.

  • I'd agree with you if SBMM was actually a thing. I'm a Huntress main who runs no slowdowns (my build is BBQ, Shadowborn, Nurse's and Discordance) and I still get paired with SWFs using the same 4~6 perks who try to finish all gens in 5 minutes, even if I never go out of my way to camp/tunnel. I finish my chases in 10~20 seconds and I still end matches with only 4~5 hooks because my 110% ass can't defend gens.

    Funnily enough I have way more chill survivors with Nurse, a killer I have a way bigger win rate because, you know, it's Nurse. SBMM doesn't work, this is just the same ranking system but hidden.

  • A week? I'm borderline facing one everyday since Pinhead chapter.

  • Wow calm down Satan

  • Disagree. Nobody uses different perks because you're putting yourself at a disadvantage by not running the meta right now. The discrepancy between perks is one of the biggest problems in this game imo, as it stops the devs from balancing the base mechanics of the game and it remove a lot of skillful interactions between players. The main example of that is how they can't buff base gen regression as long as perks like Pop and Ruin exist as they are right now, but then if you don't run neither of them you're putting yourself at a massive disadvantage, especially against meta survivors.

    Perks should not be useless (looking at you Monstrous Shrine), but they shouldn't be so strong that they lessen the impact of skill in matches. BBQ, Brutal Strength, STBFL, Kindred, Windows of Opportunity and Balanced Landing are examples of good perks that don't exactly win you games all the time like the meta does, but they provide nice effects, and this should be the level they should range around.

    Yes because it allows Wraith to remove the survivor's ability to mindgame them. Purple add-ons shouldn't make games easy.

    It doesn't remove the ability to mindgame, as long as I know the addon never froze the survivor in place. It's a good addon, don't take me wrong, but super overrated. It only works best against immersed survivors and people who don't know Wraith has a lunge.

  • @glitchboi said:

    They didn't bother fixing the issue with All Seeing Blood, they just decreased its range which is dumb. It's still going to be a powerful add-on.

    The removal of 0.25 seconds from the uncloak speed boost after uncloaking isn't going to do much, but it's still hilarious on how they nerfed Wraith. "It made him a wee bit over powered"

    "It's still going to be a powerful addon" is that a problem? Shouldn't purple addons be powerful?

  • Honestly I didn't notice a difference.

  • Isn't her ambush like 170% already? I don't see how 6% extra is going to be that impactful, especially if you trade it for 16% slower charge speed.

  • He's pretty much the same in regards of no counterplay in chase but the extra ADS time made him more unfun to play as and screwed up the muscle memory of any Slinger main out there. ADS sensitivity is still ass so the MS buff is worthless, I'm still shooting as fast as possible instead of holding the gun like devs seem to want you to. You still can't dodge a 0.4 seconds projectile, at most this change will let you know you're getting shot. The TR change is also stupid, survivors can now hold W for 14m before you can even do anything, Monitor went from a good but optional perk on him to mandatory.

  • I mean, it's hard to celebrate a simple change that should have happened years or at least months ago.

  • Considering they kept range and recharge as they are, I'm fine with the change.

    You tunneled me tho. I guess because I was losing a ton of your time. I don't blame you don't worry, I had a great time.

    Yeah I kinda hate indoor maps, sorry for that. I swear I don't play that way frequently xD.

  • They don't have to necessarily increase gen speeds. Here are some suggestions:

    • Make maps smaller. Every map should range between the size of Coal Tower to Ironworks size being the biggest;
    • Adjust tile safety, those super huge loops on Coldwind that you can see the killer over should not exist. Safe pallets should only exist on places where the killer can mindgame (shack, jungle gyms) and the ones you can see the killer over should be like the car loops on Autohaven, where the killer can still outplay you without breaking the pallet;
    • Make survivors have to go through a 2 second animation to return a regressing gen to normal;
    • Buff gen regression, removing only 15 seconds of a gen after a full minute of regression is just too little;
    • Add some sort of early game slowdown so you can't just pop a gen in 40 seconds with Prove Thyself before the killer is even able to traverse the map.

    After that you could nerf some of the meta perks that killers use. This would make games last a bit longer without making them more boring.

  • I just played against someone with your exact same name... Nurse on The Game and the survivor was Yui. Was it you?

    Besides that, nope. They should balance all perks so they all range from at least okay to good.

  • I like D3ad. Super chill guy on stream and is a solid killer main.

  • I think I've said it way too much at this point, but the speed buff while holding ADS is worthless if ADS stays as clunky as it is. Play Slinger with both the ADS MS addons and try to keep holding ADS instead of quickscoping and you'll see what I mean. It works for Huntress because she has a truck sized hitbox, but Slinger has a needle sized one and even the smallest wiggle can be enough to make you miss, while with Huntress the survivor has to make big dodges.

    Either give him the same hitbox of Huntress at this point and make him auto-reload on successful hits, or give him free sensitivity on ADS so he has something for him over Huntress with the flicks.

  • I love how they increased Deathslinger's TR with the justification of "every ranged killer should have a bigger warning" when literally everybody gave feedback that Trickster should not have a lullaby. A 24m lullaby on him would have been enough. Now you can hold W for 14m against Slinger (110% killer btw) before he's even able to do anything to you.

  • Only a Freddy/Doctor level rework can save Legion. His power is super boring to go against and if you buff him too much we're back to Old Legion.

  • Will they? I think they are fine if you make them not stackable, by themselves they are not that OP imo.

    But what about camping and tunneling. I feel you can't really increase gen speeds without somewhat addressing them to. If you increase gen speeds and there is nothing stopping killers from taking a survivor early out of the match then it could make for some unwinnable matches for survivors, since now the gens take longer to do and they are short one person.

    Sure, I also have a suggestion that hooks should work like PH's cages (they teleport if the killer stays too close, except on endgame) and BT should be basekit. If gen speeds are addressed I feel it's only fair camping and tunneling should be as well. I just want everyone to have fun.

  • This with Fragile Wheeze is going to be so good lol. I have like 100 Torn Bookmarks so I might as well use them.

  • They need to make something to make games last a bit more. There's no time to enjoy your killer power or your chases as survivor when most games right now end in less than 10 minutes. To have any sort of chance against good survivors you have to AT LEAST proxy.

    They don't have to necessarily increase gen speeds. Here are some suggestions:

    • Make maps smaller. Every map should range between the size of Coal Tower to Ironworks size being the biggest;
    • Adjust tile safety, those super huge loops on Coldwind that you can see the killer over and should not exist. Safe pallets should only exist on places where the killer can mindgame (shack, jungle gyms) and the ones you can see the killer over should be like the car loops on Autohaven;

    • Add some sort of early game slowdown so you can't just pop a gen in 40 seconds with Prove Thyself before the killer is even able to traverse the map.

    With some of these, you can even nerf some of the killer gen slowdown perks for what I care, I don't even run them because they are boring, but it's super sad I'm just forced to run them if I want a game lasting longer than 10 minutes.

    It's not a buff. Recharge is 50%. That's an eternity on nurse if you don't get the hit.

    That's why I said to pair it with Fragile Wheeze. It goes down from 4.5 seconds with only the Bookmark to 3.9 seconds per token.

  • Did they actually buff Nurse? Bookmark with Fragile Wheeze is going to be kind of nuts...

  • @Satelit said:

    I'm assuming Amanda's Letter was changed,because if you pair it with the new Video Tape,everyone has a trap on their head and there's only 2 boxes.If you just camp one of them you're guarateed head pops unless RNG truly hates you.

    Doesn't Amanda's Letter reduce her traps to only one? I assume if you pair with Video Tape you'll only have a single survivor with a trap.

  • As someone said he needed changes, not straight up nerfs.

  • As a Huntress main I feel bad for you guys. I love playing Nurse as well and I still cringe everytime I see that red bar.

  • As a Huntress main, I feel Slinger is going to be very similar to her, but way weaker, so maybe try her. Nemesis and Demogorgon are other options.

  • At least read the whole thing...

  • This addon is going to be nuts on solo queue. I'm already seeing that Claudette who took the trap off on the first box popping a gen while the other 3 still have theirs.

  • As a Huntress main I liked to play Slinger sometimes for the feeling of fast shooting he has. Now why should I play a killer that has to reload after every shot, has to waste time reeling, goes through a longer cooldown after a shot and has a limited range when his mechanics work the same as my main killer? I guess he can still use M1 and undetectable perks, and his TR is 13m smaller, but that's about it.

    I agree he needed some changes, he was ass to go against, but at least make him more fun to play as? ADS feels horrible, I'll still probably raise my gun as fast as possible instead of holding it like the devs want to. Just like with Pinhead you want to shoot the chain ASAP instead of holding the gateway.

  • I really hope they address how horrible ADS feels to use, otherwise the speed buff is worthless. He already has addons that increase it and they are some of his worst addons.

    They did the same thing to PH making it less easy to bait but didn't change how clunky it still is to use. Although the nerfs were way more smooth than these ones to Slinger.

    As a Huntress main I see no reason to play Slinger tbh. Having to reel, go through a longer weapon cooldown and having to reload everytime is just nuts, the only thing that compensated was the quickscope mechanic.

    Will have to play PTB to see how it goes, but honestly it feels pretty much like he got the Billy treatment. Maybe they did that so people play more Trickster? Just like they made Billy players go to Blight?

  • I agree he needed some changes but these changes are super heavy. They don't understand what makes people quickscope is that Aiming Down Sights is TERRIBLE. It has a very low sensitivity and the hitbox is so tiny that it's super easy to dodge if you just keep the gun up. The extra speed while ADS is worthless, he already has addons that increase it and NOBODY runs them.

    Removing quickscope without addressing this is a horrible change. Add to that the reel mechanic and limited range and there's 0 reason to play him over Huntress now.

    I love it.

    I'm not convinced players are giving it enough time of day.

    Its definitely not the best DBD map, in terms of gameplay. But the map is fun once you learn the layout.

    I play on it almost daily due to people using offerings and know the layout due to having played RE2. Still hate the map.

    Either W predrop pallet, or know how to loops. Which one is your choice?

    I prefer looping because there's actually chase interaction.

  • And people will say "just run meme builds and wait until your MMR drops". I'm way over 100 games with Huntress using NO slowdowns and I still get matched with those squads that hold W early, pre-drop every pallet and slams gens in 5 minutes. This BS is a lie.

  • @Artick said:

    I don't understand you people.

    The point of any ranking system is to avoid placing beginners with veteran players, it is that simple. You want some kind of metric that you use to create games so you match people with similar game experience together.

    You are all acting like SBMM is something extremely fancy or it is going to turn DBD into csgo faceit. BHVR simply replaced their emblems ranking system with another ranking system in an effort to create more balanced matches. That's all there is to it. Stop blowing it out of proportion. It's not the first time when they switch the "ranking" system: from bloodpoints to the killer's victory cube to emblems and now to sbmm. They could have called it Ranking System Number 5 for all I care(and you should too). Stop stressing over the fact that it contains "skill" inside its name, it is simply yet another ranking system. They probably wanted to emphasize the point that this system is able to create more fair pairings than the previous one so they used the word "skill". Poor choice of words if you ask me.

    If there is no ranking system and you just pair people at random then you completely drive off the new players.

    Well, name being wrong or not, what it matters it's that it is simply not working for me.

    The lack of visual feedbacks on how I'm doing at matches is also concerning. If I end a match with only 5 hooks and the next one I end with only 3 hooks, did the system really believe I won the previous match or what?

    At least the previous system take chasing and altruism into account, not only efficiency as it seems to be happening with this new system. Everything that it needed was to not rank people of 5 ranks apart from each other and it would work 100% better.

  • @Underdawg said:

    The point of SBMM is to place people of relatively equal skill against each other.

    Were your matches really that less sweaty before SBMM? Mine were not.

    Survivors looped more, killers chased more and people actually showed skills, at least for me. Now everybody seems to play as efficiently as possible, and efficiency on DBD is boring.

  • The map is so bad I'd love the option to leave at 5 gens.

  • I've only been able to have fun with Nurse since SBMM. She's the only killer I actually feel I have a chance. If I lose, I think "hey these survivors were better than me".

    Other killers are simply not fun anymore. If I lose, most of the time I feel the survivors just did gens too fast and maintened distance when needed, and when I win I think "these survivors didn't do gens fast enough". There's simply no interaction with other killers (maybe Blight, but I suck at him).
