By curiousity which map you think killer get carried because most of the time if a survivor just hold w they can buy 30 to 45 second without mind gaming or anything

Why do you think Doctors using Ruin, Lullaby, Undying and Unnerving Presence burn offerings for Lery’s or Hawkins? Or Scratch Mirror Myers going to Lery’s, Hawkins or Midwich? Killers like Oni, Billy and Huntress burning offerings for open maps etc... It’s because those maps make the game easier for them. And I’d argue that in certain scenarios it carries them. I’ve gone against killers who weren’t good during chases but ended up winning because of their perks / the map offering they brought. Especially against solo players like myself who can’t communicate with the rest of the team.

I've tried that one too but haven't had much success with it. The killers I go against will almost always just try and eat locker DS

I’ve actually made quite a lot of killers leave me in the locker, so if I don’t have another way out, I’ll give it a try lol.

  • I’ve jumped into lockers before to pretend I have DS and it always makes me laugh when they call my bluff and pull me out. I literally never run DS. I’ve also noticed I get slugged more when I play as Laurie as killers just assume I’m using it. I play her because she’s an icon. Not for her perks.

  • That’s one thing I dislike about being on console. I wish I could be called Claudette Moreanal. 😞

Perhaps but they seem to never do anything about people being reported. And I wasnt AFK at the beginning.

Well just be careful as you never know the pettiness of the people you’re playing against. I don’t go AFK, but when somebody desperately wants me to chase them, I just ignore them as they normally continue to follow me around and I’m completely fine with them not doing generators whilst I down their teammates. 😂

  • Can’t you be reported for this? I’m pretty sure it would go under going AFK. So be careful.

My point wasn’t that survivors have no skill, its that the survivors often aren’t expected to have much skill. Many maps can carry survivors especially when combined with exhaustion perks.

Evading a killer around an L wall T wall until both windows block shows a skill gap between killer and survivor. Holding W through a map like Lerys for 3 gens does not.

Survivor is definitely the easier role, but some parts of it still take skill. It’s not as brain dead as some people choose to believe. Killers can be carried by maps too which is why they often bring map offerings as they know they’ll have an advantage. It is what it is. I’d say that killer has the higher learning curve but both sides require skill.

We once played against a wraith who made it clear from the start that they were just farming. We all went along with it and had a great time. We played around with the Wraith the entire game, dropped all the pallets so they could break them, let them constantly break the gens, and let them hook us all twice. We had played with plenty of farming killers before and done this many times, so we didn't even bat an eye at this. Like all the other times before, we thought they'd get their two hooks each and let us ago (again, happened every time we played against a farmer) except this killer decided to turn at the last minute. After our second hooks - while we were healing each other - the wraith slugged and hooked everyone, getting a very easy 4k. In the end game chat the killer apologized and laughed about it. Since then, we haven't really trusted farming killers anymore. It was a lesson learned, which was kind of sad since those tended to be the most fun since everyone (us and killer) always had a good time in those rounds. Live and learn.

I had a similar thing happen to me with a Michael. He was just standing at pallets and hitting them and smacking gens, clearly letting us know he wants to farm. We have 1 generator left and he gets to Tier 3 and pulls me off the generator and kills me. So the rest of the team fix the last generator and leave. He messages me to say sorry and that he was trying to get an achievement for killing everybody as Michael and he said we wouldn’t have let him do it otherwise. So I replied and said if he had messaged me prior to the game and asked to farm to get his achievement I would have happily let him kill me lol.

I only farm as a killer if the team just give up or if somebody has disconnected. So I’m always suspicious when a killer wants to farm from the start of the match. 👀😂

  • I’ve actually seen an increase in toxicity from killers recently, I’m not even going to lie. The difference is, I don’t receive abusive messages from them. One of the most random things I had recently was a Clown who hadn’t downed me all game and he found me whilst I was trying to find the hatch. He downed me and just stood over my body throwing bottles so I just went to make a sandwich because he didn’t seem like he was going to give me the hatch. I returned about 10 minutes later and he’s just carrying me around the basement on his shoulders? lmao.

Why would you waste so much of your own time to be a dick? I wasn’t bothered by this as I went to do other things, I just don’t get how he got pleasure from it and what I actually did to ‘deserve’ it? Just because I hadn’t been downed all game didn’t mean I wasn’t being productive. He chased me on 3 different occasions and kept giving up. So was this his way of ‘punishing’ me for knowing how to put up a good chase? I mean, good for you Clown? 🌚

  • I think it’s unfair to say that playing survivor doesn’t require skill, because it does. Sitting on a generator isn’t all there is to playing survivor. Knowing how to loop and counter a killer trying to down you, takes practise and not everybody is good at it. Knowing how to prioritise is a skill. Should you heal? Get the unhook? Get on a generator? Cleanse the totem? Also being able to remain out of the killers line of sight is something some people struggle with. Wasting the killers time by making them search for you in an area but not actually find you is beneficial to the entire team. This is something I do a lot and I get killers complimenting me on it saying how annoying it was trying to track me down lol.

Killer is obviously a lot harder to master and you’ll never see me state otherwise because I play both sides frequently. I just don’t agree with making out like playing survivor is easy because I constantly see people struggle at even the most basic of tasks. Some people don’t even look behind them during a chase and that’s one of the most obvious things a survivor should learn early on. 😂

  • I mean, for the type of game it is, it’s the best of its kind, so I’m not surprised to see it rated so high. What other game can I play where I can be hunted down by Michael, Freddy and Leatherface? For a horror lover like myself, this game is a dream come true. It obviously has its faults like every multiplayer game I’ve played but most of my frustrations come from the player base and not the actual game.

DBD is love. DBD is life.

  • I remember when I was on the opposite side of the map to a hooked David and because I had Kindred I could see that nobody else was going for the save, so I left my generator to get him and then he jumps off the hook in my face and I just looked at him for a few seconds and then went back to my generator lol. Heal yourself Mr King.

He also wasn’t close to the struggle stage either, so he didn’t have to try to jump.

  • No Mither is still better.

  • Out of these choices I’ll go with Resident Evil as I absolutely love those games. I just don’t want to see Nemesis being pallet stunned and looped around the killer shack all game. 🌚

  • I like Otz but I can’t stand his chat and I don’t like that you’re forced to see what they’re typing on his videos. It actually made me stop watching his YouTube videos that are taken from live streams. I prefer the way Monto does videos for YouTube that aren’t just taken from his Twitch.

  • I personally like it. If I’m using it, my build is Iron Will, No Mither, Spine Chill and Resilience. I’m good at staying away from the killer so I like having constant use of Resilience without having to be hit first. The speed increase to fixing generators is nice and if I am caught, I have a constant 15% faster vault speed. I also don’t have to worry about Exposed perks, one-shot killers or Stridor.

The only time I find it annoying is when people who can’t loop or stay out of the killers sight use it as then they are just a burden to the team. But with the way I utilise it, I’m actually more helpful as I’m a stealthy gen jockey. 😈

I don't actually know what happened--obviously--as I'm just speculating over your own speculation regarding a situation you're not totally sure what happened in either, but maybe there's something to that idea.

The question is where/when did the survivors switch from that usual "run from killer" operating logic to knowing they even could taunt you without the killer immediately downing them right after. And then there's the question of why would they.

Could it be that the earlier "saves" you got weren't an act of politeness from you, but their politeness towards you? Maybe, having picked up on whatever hints you missed (now including a pattern of HUD/aura information reads unlike any serious game for you to notice), they left those unhooks for you to claim points too. They hoped you'd finally catch-on once the killer returns and notice that nobody else was panicked or fleeing.

If the situation involves you basically straight up watching everyone else chilling around the killer after the unhook, yet you're the only one running off to the next stun & loop like any normal game--well, okay... I could see them thinking you were actually just some try-hard jerk who just refused to give a friendly killer a 4th stack of BBQ even after getting some saves of your own.

Also... are you sure it was a SWF? This case might also explain three randoms acting out and taunting you if each was individually aware o f the situation and slapping their forehead as you kept being (or so they perceived) super sweaty instead of wising up.

That said.... could just as easily be a random group of turds sandbagging for fun without a reason still. All types of people in this game.

The killer wasn’t originally farming. They even confirmed to me that they only started being friendly as they could tell the other survivors were low ranks. They were all on death hook before a single generator was fixed lol. I asked the killer why he nodded as they just teabagged me on the hook and he said he didn’t know why they did that and it wasn’t his fault, but I still think he was a dick for farming with them after they did that. And him nodding along was like he wanted me dead. I didn’t buy anything he said. He was just scared because I said I’d report him. I also knew they were a SWF because one of their profiles showed them all in a party chat together.

I know when a killer is farming and I’d join in. But he wasn’t farming with me, he was trying to down me and how was I supposed to know he was being friendly to the other survivors when I wasn’t with them? He always found me working on generators by myself. They were just being dicks. I wouldn’t look so deep into it. 😂

Yes and no. If you didn't spawn in as TOMMY JAWVIS after dying, you could very easily be sitting in dead chat for a long time. Also, Jason had voice chat as well, which kind of ruined his silent killer thing. For the counselors, it was very important, but I don't think Jason should have had voice chat. Most of the time, you heard some person just power tripping and lobbing insults. Not a big deal, but it ruins the mystique around Jason to hear some nerd throwing bad insults around.

You could leave. They changed it so that after you died you didn’t have to stay in the lobby to keep your points. Also, I used to just mute whoever was playing as Jason and I’d also mute any annoying teammates lol.

Edit: I misread what you wrote. Yeah, you couldn’t hear each other after death but me and my friends used to play in party chats so death didn’t stop us talking. 😂

  • Just had a match with the exact same Wraith and once again he’s AFK in a corner. It’s so annoying that people do this to de-rank.

  • It can just be a case of bad RNG. I was playing as Blight earlier and my Ruin and Undying both got cleansed within 30 seconds of the match starting and I’m not exaggerating lol. I think both survivors must have spawned on my totems which is stupid. They were also on the same side of the map and basically next to each other? Which I’ve never seen before.

With all it's faults, FT13 looked like it was fun and people were more chill than Dbds playerbase. But then again, I only watched a few videos. I wish our playerbase was nicer.

FT13 was honestly so much fun. I also loved how Jason was actually a threat lol. I only started playing DBD because that game stopped receiving updates but I still play it from time to time. It just doesn’t feel the same as it did. I used to have a lot of fun playing it with friends though. A lot of good memories came from FT13. Can’t say the same about DBD. 🙊😂

When we do get grief from other survivors its usually with the Huntress, it's super weird how that goes. Sometimes Legion, but normally Huntress.

I don't get it either, as my friend and I have ranked up we've run into more and more people doing their best to try and ruin the game, we've learned how to avoid them during a match as much as possible. But it's difficult at times

It’s just been really bad for me tonight in terms of teammates. I shouldn’t feel forced to only play killer either as I enjoy both sides, but it’s almost becoming unbearable. It’s getting to the point where I am entering matches expecting the worst. I’ll see how it goes because I might have to take a break for a while as I’m finding more and more reasons to play something else.

Skip to 2:06. I wish I could to that to a lot of survivors who unhook me in front of the killer.

LMAO. This is the one thing I prefer about FT13. At least we could go and hit annoying teammates with weapons. All we can do in DBD is give them a stern finger point. 😩

I just had a bully killer as well. All I said was ggwp post game and he went into a flurry of insults and slander because I hit him with DS after he tunneled me off hook (and about how I am why it's getting nerfed, even with the nerf it would have still been up I never did anything else).

Thing is you can't report like 90% of the toxic behavior in DBD, it takes super extremes. The player base is low so they fear losing too many players; so they very rarely take action.

I've literally tested this. We let a toxic guy stay in our discord and keep playing with us for a bit; and we reported him ourselves after games after he would tell people to kill themselves and everything else- and he was never banned. Not even once. Not so much as a time out.

There is almost no consequence to being awful to other people in DBD.

The report system needs a complete rework to be honest. It’s such a pain having to record a video, upload it to YouTube and then send it over a form and you don’t even get told whether or not action has been taken. I reported a similar incident just over a year ago where a killer held a grudge against me and he messaged a Bill in my lobby and asked him to lead him to me and they both worked together to kill me. I received a response that they had received my complaint etc but they never confirmed if they had been banned which didn’t make me feel very hopeful.

  • @cindlemain said:

I get where you coming from with this. Had something similar happen last night where myself, rank 5, and my friend, rank 7, where put with two rank 20s who kept leading the Huntress to us. When she finally caught both of us they kind of just....danced? Around the hooks t-bagging and nodding.

It was ridiculous to be honest

Funny how it also happened to you with low ranks and a Huntress. She must be bad luck lol. I don’t know how people find joy in trying to annoy others? It’s just such a bizarre mindset to have.

  • @jester20k said:

How long did they do that for?

About 10 mins? I eventually just stood still and listened to music and one of the Megs eventually opened the gate. It was still 10 minutes wasted for no apparent reason lol.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

It's sad that you had to deal with this. BHVR need to get a serious grip on the bullying in this game. Regardless of wether the people in question thought they were just having fun, bullying should NOT be accepted by anyone. Especially game devs who seem to turn a blind eye to it far too often. I myself just had the exact same experience from a SWF group who came and t-bagged me on hook and left me to die first hook. The reason? I beat them as The twins 5 minutes before I played survivor. It was just so childish. I mean I've encountered a few survivors who beat me as killer or survivors while I play killer and never felt the need to act a twat to them. Hopefully you don't get this again though. This game should be an enjoyable time for all. Not just a minority of people.

That’s honestly so embarrassing on their part. Imagine taking a game that seriously that you feel the need to get ‘revenge’ on somebody who beat you? Lol. I wish I knew why my teammates did it but they had their privacy settings so that you couldn’t message them. How shocking. The killer claims they did nothing wrong, but they literally saw what they were doing, nodded a long and then farmed with them, so how can they not see they’re also at fault? This player base is just so childlike at times. It’s rare for me to get a game nowadays where there isn’t somebody deliberately trying to annoy somebody else.

Time to introduce a new mechanic for Survivors: punt. When another Survivor stands in your way, press the active ability button to kick their ass

I did wait as I wasn’t going to DC and endure a penalty, but it just seems silly that survivors can do this? They shouldn’t be able to body block the exit gates like that lol.

I assume they thought it was funny as one of the Megs knew I wanted out as she kept walking away from the switch and when I’d head over she’d go straight back in front of it so I couldn’t open it. 🙄

Treat them like what exactly? I called them NOOBS because they are NEW PLAYERS. I also called them NOOBS because I was pissed off they chose to grief me with the killer for no reason. Why are you acting like a rank 19 being paired with a rank 1 is fair for either side? You’re literally being an ass for the sake of being an ass. Here’s the door. 🚪

I mean, I’ve been a rank 1 killer plenty of times so I have no issue being ‘ganged up on’ but I don’t appreciate the grief by my own teammates because they’re a salty SWF.

Right there with you man. I usually play a game or two as survivor juat to get the extra daily shards and then I play killer the rest of time. Solo queue is just a dumpster fire most of time and not worth playing.

I don’t want to give up on playing survivor but it’s getting ridiculous recently. How does the game think putting a red rank survivor with 2 rank 18’s and a rank 19 makes any sense? It was horrendous in every way imaginable lol.

I’ve had to start running medic builds in order to make sure I get enough BP because I’m constantly put with people who go down within seconds of being chased and I can’t be expected to fix 5 generators and save every person off the hook by myself. 😂

Genuinely, if I'm rank 1, I don't want to see the colour grey anywhere near me.

The only thing I can think of is that I didn’t join in with them farming but I didn’t realise that’s what was happening? The Huntress kept chasing me and losing me, so I didn’t take that as her being friendly. She eventually downed me with a hatchet because apparently my hit box is the same size as an Orca Whale and then I have the Meg and Kate who I both saved teabagging and shaking their head at me a long with The Kuntress. 🙄

Like don't get me wrong, this game is sometimes a pain in the ass, but i've met some genuine people from this game that im glad i call friends.

I’m not a big people person and I tend to dislike the majority of the people I meet so I tend to keep my socialising to a minimum. I have met people I once classed as friends online but over time they began to really annoy me and I had to cut ties. So now I don’t bother. I prefer my own company.

  • It’s just the classic entitled / hypocritical mindset that a lot of players have. I had a Feng in my lobby last night called NOED = No Skill and funnily enough the killer did have NOED and it got activated on her lol.
