You're gonna see less killer players if this MMR works out the way it should, because nobody wants to be forced to play Nurse and Spirit all the time to have a chance against the best of the best. The MMR will take away the variety of playing different killers, and with someone like Wraith who just got a well deserved buff he still will struggle massively because he's not like Nurse. Both sides won't be happy with what's to come
No, because it will then prove KILLERS NEED TO BE BUFFED to be viable. At the rate we are going, NERFING every Killer that can actually threaten survivors will also kill the game. Freddy is going to be unjustly destroyed just like Billy was... Why? Because there are too many potatoes at ranks they shouldn't be. These survivors shouldn't be at these ranks. It inflates the kill rates and will yet again shorten the pool of killers at said ranks because the top tier survivors will always be top tier. They've been playing too long to fear any killer not named Nurse.

@ScottJund said:
Yeah people that keep defending MMR are really not understanding Behavior whatsoever. Everyone always says "at the highest level they'll finally see that the game is survivor sided and then fix things when they have the data!"
No they won't. That would indicate they have a desire to balance for the top 1%, which they don't, and never have. They will see that "oh yes, at the highest MMR Clown is in fact getting destroyed. Oh well, we knew that already" and they will do nothing.
They have no desire to balance for the top 1% and I don't know why people think they're suddenly going to change their entire philosophy on the game.
Side point: They already know the game is survivor sided at the highest level. They've known this for years. They just don't care because its not indicative of the general experiences that the vast majority will have.
They DO balance around the highest level of play... When nerfs for killers are decided. That's the problem with the current system. SBMM will solve that because potatoes will not be constantly running into this high hour Freddy. The current system enables low rank survivors to get survivors buffed, which in turn further grants power to survivors that understand the game.
I'll say it... Ruin/Undying SHOULD NOT have been NERFED because again, elite survivors won against elite killers despite the add-on combo. Potatoes & low ranks refused to do totems and got the combo NERFED. SBMM will fix this in my opinion.

Can't have killers on nurse level you know. /s

DS needed this nerf and shouldn't have been in the game to begin with honestly. You shouldn't get a free getaway because you got caught again.

Psychological effect? Maybe so on lower ranks, but in the higher ranks killers can slug those who have ds and then chase another, creating more pressure on survs. As a part-time killer myself, this approach works. Dunno why DS needed a nerf, it was balanced as it is.
I guess working on a gen, in the killer face, is balanced?

Scott would probably be the breath of life this game needs if he was hired by BHVR, he actually knows what the balance of DBD should be.
Uh... No.
-
He's fine the way he is. He doesn't need anything removed.

@FrostySeal said:
The game was balanced around 4 perk slots, putting an extra one for killer would instantly destroy the balance of the game and end up killing the game. With an extra perk slot you could have extremely powerful builds that were not intended to be made.
Survivors can EASILY defeat every Killer in the game... If they truly wanted to. Isn't that bad balance when they aren't the "power" role?

@OGlilSPOOK20 said:
There is no point to them anymore.
I feel like the Devs should get rid of Mori's from the offering category because it's a waste of an offering now.
But instead just make Ebony base for all killers now. Give killers the option to pick up and hook survivors or mori them.
Plus no clue why Devs don't want to create new mori's for all killers and sell them for atleast $5. Everyone would absolutely buy them.
Don't give em any ideas. We have enough transactions in this game.

@Aven_Fallen said:
I am waiting for the days after the Rework, when Killers realize that they still lose games because they are bad and not because of DS. And they will try to go for the next Perk. Yay.
No, killers lose games because survivors are actually the power role. Perfect Survivors vs perfect killers results in a W for survivors.
-
Killers should get 5 perks with one automatically dedicated to a hex.
-
This killer would be top tier due to the fact it has mobility. No way would the devs make a killer of this caliber AGAIN! The survivors would hook suicide the kill rates so high like we've never seen.
No disrespect to the devs or anyone else. I just KNOW A GOOD comp level killer is a thing of the past.

Freddy is fine

Any killer can be S tier if you put your mind to it.
I'm sorry, but this is a BLATANT lie. Why hasn't Trapper been used in a tournament? I'll wait forever on your reply sir lol.

They have to fix that problem 1st buddy and then they can start buffing him
Problem? It should've been BASE! The killer is absurdly weak. Most likely going to be the weakest in the game.
-
Well, maybe if gens didn't go so fast, you wouldn't see PGTW in every game. Whenever a gen perk rises to the top, we attack the perk rather than WHY IT'S BEING USED SO MUCH!

@Sluzzy said:
"MANY post saying he is weak, MANY videos saying he is weak, MANY saying ricochet should be base kit"
I never saw a Trickster lose on the PTB. You can't buff an already strong killer. This is killers only playing him for a few hours. Wait until people main this killer, they'll be no escaping.
Nobody plays for real on the ptb. You've been around long enough to know this sir. This killer will be bodied in COMP & by the red rank survivors. (The real ones, not the potatoes)

Why can't they just listen now? There is plenty of very clear feedback they are choosing entirely to ignore it.
Why do we have to wait until the patch goes live for a week or two before they will even hear our questions out?
Even then, you guys decide what questions are even given to them to look at; which if that is the case it makes me doubt the feedback forum even does anything at all. I mean, most of the feedback is the opposite of what they actually went and did, so what's that all about?
Because, as history has shown, survivors will keep buying cosmetics and funding the game. If we get ANOTHER Nurse or SPIRIT, they'll lose money because survivors will quit. This killer will pose no threat to survivors so, it's a good addition. (To them)
This is why I haven't purchased anything for this game in years.
-
If you defeat the Nurse, it's because of one or two things.
Either your SWF was just way too good and managed to slam gens harder than nurse can kill you, or the nurse player isn't skilled enough to defeat you.
Nurse is solely based on the players skill. If she's superior to you, you lose... Period. (Which is the way it should be with all killers imo)
If you're superior to her (your team), you win. Solo vs Nurse, you lose... Period. (If she's skilled)
-
You're just NOW giving up? Nonetheless, I'm glad you came to your senses.

You should've seen when all the hooks were taken down and all you had were basement hooks. Nightmares

I'm pretty sure if he's reworked it'll be a nerf

The most annoying thing that nobody remembers? Legitimate hatch standoffs or survivors having to attempt to get 2 done by themselves when the whole team DC’d / died at 5 gens left. At least old left behind was actually kinda beast.
It was actually good balance to have hatch appear only when a certain number of gens were done in my opinion. I hate the free escape chance of the whole team dying at 5 gens.

If spirit took skill to play that would be a valid argument. But she doesn't, and there's nothing you can do against her. She's complained about for the same reason that people don't complain about nurse. It's fine to have a high skill cap, as long as your skill floor is super low, and you have to be a good killer to use it effectively. All spirit has to do to win is put on stridor.
And before you call me a survivor main, I main killer, and have for the past 5 years. However, I refuse to play freddy ever since his rework(unless I have a daily), because he's quite literally pay-to-win. That's the same reason I don't like playing spirit. I pick her when I want easy 4ks while half asleep. That should tell you something about her.
Why isn't spirit a serious threat to actual players that aren't potatoes then? She still gets gen rushed to the otherworld like everyone else excluding Nurse.

Questions for veterans/DBD historians who have played since the beginning:
When did survivors start looping? Like around what month/year did it start becoming a common play style for survivors?
Were there individual players who discovered looping, or did it kind of just grow organically throughout the community?
Good question. Looping was already a thing when I came around
-
The nerf is fine
-
The killers should've pressured gens...
-
Why are 3 gens still done before or as soon as you get first hook?
-
Why can't you accept the killer may just be better than you? Do you want every Killer to be weak like Trapper?

If I come across a totem I do it. But wasting time constantly running around looking for dull totems only makes it harder to do gens. Especially when people are dropping like flies. Honestly usually you can tell if someone uses NOED cause they use other hex perks as well. She didn’t though. So I was on the lookout for totems during the match but it wasn’t a priority
Ok... And guess what that cost you? NOED

Bingo. And the Devs only look at stats and not context.
I have to correct you. They only look at stats in terms of NERFING KILLERS IN THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PLAY. Stats and context matters when low level Survivors are BUFFED which is turn makes survivors even more frustrating to deal with in the highest level of play.
This is the reason 4 perfect Survivors WITH NO PERKS will easily stop EVERY KILLER IN THE GAME EXCEPT THE LEGENDARY GOD NURSE.
-
It's been proven Freddy isn't OP by top players man. Just do gens and get out asap

How? I unhooked and healed them multiple times? You want me to just sacrifice myself to killer instead?
Why weren't you doing totems then?

@CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:
As a hybrid player I've been in both sides and noticed that if a killer or their build is unlikeable then survivors will simply not play. Either dc, afking, griefing or killing themselves on hook, it's kinda bizzare. But no one really comments on that because you simply kill them and get easy bloodpoints. If I play Hag, odds are that I'll have a normal game. If I use rusty shackles because I wanna try a funny build like ultimate totem protector hag, then I won't manage to get it to work since most teams will simply give up. If I play pig I'll have a normal gamez but if I switch to spirit or deathslinger for a daily, then I'll get faced with 4 dcs.
But, again, I don't see anyone commenting on it. I can kinda see why someone wouldn't enjoy versing a forever Freddy, but actively giving up results in the other 4 players having a boring game.
But that's simply, my opinion
They're doing it to inflate the kill ratio which will lead to a nerf. That's why Freddy is on the chopping block... AGAIN!

It was ages ago so it's hard to remember it but I don't think it was as bad as it seems since almost nobody was good at the game so only minimal amount of people actually abused all of the OP stuff properly.
Back than a lot of people camped pallets hard, never looped and did unhooks infront of the killer because they didn't know grabs existed etc. It was, different from what we have today.
Dude we're talking about pallet vacuum times. Remember when windows used to suck the survivor in to vault? Shack had 2 open windows, double pallet jungle gyms, crotus penn had like a million open windows, no bloodlust, like man it was a nightmare lol.

While these things are true - there's a reason the survivors had to wait as long as 20 minutes to get a match back then
Just sayin.... while the survivors had their own issues to deal with, the killer's did indeed have it much much worse.
Nurse was created to bypass most of the crazy stuff. I don't remember ever hitting a survivor through a window or pallet back then

don't you know, the feedback is only useful if it's in the feeeeeeeeeedback section. even though it shouldn't take any feedback to understand that this killer's power is garbo.
i do like his design though. his animations are neat.

Really? Its 40 seconds max in which you can just hide and that's it. I think it's just mediocre and not worth a perk slot either. I wish NOED would have been reworked like that.
NOED is fine, but trust me, as someone that runs BBQ and specifically tried to hook all 4 every game, it's going to be a nightmare. Solos will complain.
NWO + REMEMBER ME + NOED + BLOOD WARDEN
The ultimate "you're not escaping" build.
-
It's going to get nerfed for sure. As soon as I read it I knew No Way Out IS going to get nerfed!
-
I don't think they'll buff his movement speed or his power. I do believe his perk for the exit gate will most certainly be nerfed. Bank on that.

Sexuality has no place in this video game. Why is everybody so hung up on wether the new chapter is going to have an LGBT+ theme? Its a horror game about people getting hung on hooks.
I agree. We don't NEED to know as it doesn't matter.
-
I hope he's faster, but I'll wait to see. Decreasing movement on uncloak is not a way to go.
-
Survivors by far. They can easily dominate 95% of the killer cast barring Spirit & Nurse... IF THEY CHOOSE TO.
-
Nope
-
The killer will just be nerfed in a few weeks anyways. That's pretty much been the recent trend.
Release killer with a few busted addon and maybe one good perk.
Let it ride until the sales boom dies down and the streamers stop pressuring to buy.
Nerf the killer, the perks, the add-ons, and maybe throw in a numbers adjustment to be on the safe side.

Society is really pushing this line...

I wouldn't say "butchered". They will probably do something boring and unnecessary, like a slowdown or a cooldown. Ah, I truly miss Old Freddy. At least I didn't have to worry about unnecessary nerfs back then.
Like Billy? Yeah, that's a butchering. Nobody likes Billy anymore. The same with happen to Freddy
