I do not mean to sound rude, because you did come up with a unique idea, but no. The dev team is constantly working hard on creating new cosmetics for the store, I want that to remain the point of focus. Secondly, offerings are always available in the bloodweb, and I do not want every map to be the 'The Game' as a survivor or go the Swamp or cornfields or Yamaoka estate as a killer.
-
Yes. Freddy needs rework. Leatherface needs rework.
And we, the Claudettes, need more bushes in the maps so that we can hide in our natural habitat.

DDoS attacks are very much still a thing for the gaming industry, with the industry investing an astronomical amount on security.Jed said:Ok so the biggest issue for dedicated servers you say is DDoS attacks. Then you give a example how bad it would be to have a DDoS attack during the holiday season. I'm sure its happened but could you (or anyone) list any big popular games with dedicated servers that this has happened to? How long were you unable to play the game?
I used to play one mmorpg game some years ago, and the example I gave, was what happened once during the holiday season.
The recent incident I know, is of Ubisoft. Here's the proof.
-
I'm up for everything that makes the game better. I never was or I am now against the idea of a dedicated server, but the way players demand and think that it's gonna end all the problems, it is not really true. We both know that.Dedicated servers would be more fair for everyone, not just for one side of the game.
-
Yes, but server lags are still a thing. For example, a killer hits a survivor, but it doesn't register a hit since the server didn't recieve a packet that resulted in a hit due to some lag. Something like struggling on the hook will need to change too, but it constantly needs to send data registering the struggle, a few misses, and you're dead.Rocket league has servers for different regions and lets you choose in which ones you wanna queue -
What you are talking about in #1, is actually what I mean by #4. DDoS attacks are very different from 'technical issues' on the developer's system. When the game became free on PS4, the game servers weren't able to handle the load, it resulted in connection errors. That was a technical issue, while DDoS is a kind of spam attack resulting in denial of service.#1 we already have those days every 2 months or so where noone can connect for multiple hours or even days.
#2 "probably"
I personally don't know any server based game with those maintenance days. Also, steam has akready maintenance day every week where noone can get online for 20 minutes, dont see the issue here tbh
#3 well, that's just an issue due to money. If they invest more money they can spread out wider like other server based games
#4 what exactly do you mean with that?
#2 I have played some games where they do weekly maintenance and they have dedicated servers. It's not a whole lot of inconvenience, like I said. -
It is kind of unfair for the rest of the survivors, when there's 5 generators left and someone decides to disconnect or gets disconnected legitimately.
Despite the disconnects, the game still gives you a chance to play and safety pip (+0), as well pip(+1). It can be difficult for new players, but for a lot of veterans, it's a piece of cake. It also depends on the killer, whether he decides to camp, and the survivor on the hook, looking at situation kills himself, only then a situation can be tricky and really unfair. But most matches, it's much easier to safety pip. -
Biggest issue when it comes to dedicated server is DDoS attacks. For example?
#1. Imagine, its a nice Holiday season, the developers are on a well-deserved vacation, and there's a DDoS attack on the server. That's it then. 'Cannot connect to server' for days together.
#2. The Maintenance. There will probably need to be a maintenance day every week, where the game will be down for a few hours once a week. Not much of inconvenience, but still.
#3. Server Lags. Since the servers will be based where BHVR is located, i.e. Canada, player logging in from the countries far away in the east, middle east, will still have lags due to high ping.
#4. Hardware issues. Every game I have played with a dedicated server, has had atleast a hardware issue once where the game is down for multiple days together.
In the end, like I said, dedicated servers maybe better, but it's still not a perfect system, and has its own cons too. -
Dedicated servers may make some things better for some people, but people who expect that it's going to be all perfect when the dedicated servers come are living a lie. It has its own cons, too.
-
You need to play both sides first to even talk about disparities and balance. As a killer, one don't lose points when someone escapes through the hatch. I see it as a kind of a win-win, since one needs to sacrifice 3 survivors for the hatch to open. Again, you still have an option to slug the last two survivors.

What's program re-rank?
-
Exactly! What are you smoking?
-
Everyone I play against feels like they're from the Dead Sea. Now if you ask why? The reason is obvious. The salt content is TOO HIGH.
-
Well, it's hard to tell. I don't know how lag switching looks on a killer, in the video, it looked smooth on his end.Disasterasauras said:When I was streaming I didn't have any dropped frames. If I'm connecting to the killer it would be on his end, wouldn't it?

Now that looks like your internet was having issues. O.oDisasterasauras said:My friend managed to actually find the clip of the same moment.

Haha. Initially, I was surprised to see Nea's absence, but then he appeared in his final form xDDrVonKrumm said:I love these animations, so happy to see a new one. Who knew that The Trapper was such a skilled musician?

If they were made permanent, we would have more toxic games than usual.
I have lost the count of how many times as a solo survivor I have encountered a killer-survivor duo working together and farming the rest.
I have also lost of those 'entitled survivors' teabagging infront of me when I am playing killer, as a signal to farm.
I'm glad it's over.
The grind is real. But I guess, bloodweb is the way to go to reduce the grind. More perks per web. -
Do you changing the direction of the dash attack, like a mindgame or fake dash attack?
-
I have done that sans NOED and BBQ (only if I had it) on a Freddy, forget Billy. NOED and DS are for tryhards.

That's my choice, too.Orion said: -
Who else is here for entertainment? XD

Not Queen recently said that they're working on it and we'll soon get to know. But we don't know how soon. I'm happy that atleast we are getting it.

I'm not here to answer questions in a way that fits your narrative. If you don't agree with my answer, doesn't mean I didn't answer it. If you're talking about "punishment" question, well, I thought you were smart enough to understand that you answered that question yourself, by saying, 'Go afk, youtube, wait 5 minutes'. Seriously? Why? I do not wish to. Again, a popular opinion isn't always correct.AnotherRandy said:
This is not near at a proper response to my message. This is absolute strawman argument and doesn't answer my question.
Don't try to act smart, ur stupid af
Most importantly, please be careful with your choice of words. I'm sure that name-calling isn't allowed on the forums. There's always a healthy way to go by an argument. -
Talk sense to a fool, and he calls you foolish. But you know, it's better to let you think I'm a fool than to open my mouth and remove all your doubt. So have fun!No you haven't, u responded on a sentence I send which wasn't even for you. You look like a fool rn tbh
-
I did respond to you. Just scroll and seeWhy did you ignore then me completely? Maybe cuz I completely demolished your argument and you don't know how to respond to that "as a solo survivor"? Come one man, don't bully yourself
Infact, you didn't respond to that. -
I did a random giveaway on forums just some days ago. But then that's all I had. I'll do more in future if I acquire more codes.
-
That looks like 8 meters to me.
-
With all the buffs now, and Bead Prayer addon, the Spirit is the scariest and creepiest.
-
We can have XXL lockers ingame. Size don't matter. So even Killers can hide in lockers
-
Yes. Never stop asking. Maybe one day, they'll say yes.Mesme said:Welp that blows but hey what can you do you know?

Someone asked this question about Killer cosmetics for survivors during a Dev live stream. They said no.
-
I'm just curious, but is the region of your PS+ account and the other account same? Usually, the DLCs are region locked on PS4. For example, a DLC purchased on an US account from the US playstore, will not work on an Asian account.
-
When some people do not have facts to argue with, they resort to such WEAK comments. I do not need to prove this, but check my YouTube channel. I upload regularly. Not that I do not play SWF, but I mostly play solo. Next time only quote me, if you want to really debate, otherwise, no need to boil your blood and try to seek my attention. Thanks.Master said:"solo" player btw, do I need to add sth?
-
And so is my stand. But if the game is already doing what a watch can do, minus all the 'inconvenience' of looking up through hundreds of perks, why should I even bother with google? No, thanks! My answer still the same. Use google like every human in the planet, even a watch can do that these days -
Why should I be denied that information if it doesn't harm the killer in any way? The lifeline of this game aren't just veterans, but there a lot of casual and new players that come to play Dead By Daylight every month. Being a veteran, I surely do not need to know this information after every match, but, without being selfish, there are a lot of new players, most of them solo, who still need that information and you cannot deny this information to them. Why would you tho? You died? OK go next or do whatever, why you MUST see what perks he uses when you can see the best builds everywhere in the internet? -
If you really see SWF as a problem, I'd recommend you to ask for removal of spectating feature than the end game screen. Since, a lot of information is given to the other survivors through spectating and not through end game screen. As a solo player, I don't have the need to watch what happens to others after I escape or die. But I do not wish to wait 5 or 10 minutes just to see the perks.AnotherRandy said:
If you care so much about the perks he used, just wait or go afk and do something else for 5 minutes (youtube). And if you don't care about the perks then move on. The only real punishment is for swf groups telling each other what the killer is using.Khalednazari said:If I am playing solo, why should I be punished? -
If I am playing solo, why should I be punished?

Plays Survivor :
* kobes off the hook and escapes *
Killer : YOU ARE TOXIC!!Plays Killer :
* tries to kobe and fails *
Survivors : YOU ARE TOXIC!!
I mean, nothing there is really toxic about most things in the game, its just the way you see it and label anything and everything. But then again, frustration needs a channel? Y'ALLLLL ARE WOOFIN TOXIC!!!
-
Why would you camp if you got them all?
-
Yes. For throwing pebble.
-
I prefer the 2x weekend grind.
-
Being mostly a solo queue player, I expect more from my fellow survivors, regardless of who the killer is or of the fact how he decides to play.
-
Rather make sense than wild statements.AgentTalon said:So being your represent the game and devs are you saying your new stance is that camping is toxic?
-
I was making a general statement. If you read my post completely, I also said that it was the kind of behaviour you guys projected outside the game. Threads aren't locked for ingame actions, but for things you do on the forums. In my opinion, that exercise was unhealthy and uncool. Cheers to the mods again.AgentTalon said:Downing survivors who rush for an unsafe save and get downed by Leatherface is now "unfair". Good lord survivors really do want a game where they have power armor and never see a killer outside of a safe loop.
-
Anything that promotes griefing and unfair gameplay should not be promoted. I don't think anyone had a problem with camping, but the way it was being projected by the person who started that thread and the others who posted in it, as a way of harrassment and with the intent to mock others, it looked 'uncool'. I'm really glad that a mod decided to close it. Good decision. 👍
-
I like the idea.
-
When they rage, it means you did a really good job. Now move on to the next game. There are many more fishes in the pond.

Ducking all these walls of text, a stealthy Claudette would like to place his valued opinion. A new mechanic that is not independent, i.e. It's based on the current mechanics, influencing them in either a positive or negative way, conclusively, will NOT resolve the existing issues, instead adds more to more weight to bring them down.
But then, that's Claudette's own opinion and probably an unpopular one.
