I play both sides, and I say that the hatch is completely comfortable where it is. Whoever closes it first, wins. If you're survivor and you lose, sorry but you can't escape every game. And same vice versa. If you're killer and they escape. So what? 4k isn't a necessity. It's nothing to do with RNG, just plain and simple, whoever clicks it faster, or whoever doesn't get f'ed over by the other player, wins

Thank you for sharing your opinion! I genuinely wanted to know how other people felt about the current hatch time. 😀 It's always nice when people disagree and are respectful so it's very appreciated. I play both sides as well and definitely still believe that the reduced map size alone is merit enough to rethink the hatch time (I play both sides as well, also with Survivor escape rates statistically dropped to where they have been for awhile I hardly remember what an escaped status looks like LOL). But that is just me! :)

They already speeded up it literally in this new update, and also when the survivor is on his last hook, it only takes it as he is dead when you receive the sacrifice points. With other words they still alive

Can you quote where in the patch notes it says that the time for the hatch to open as sped up? I just checked the most recent patch notes to be sure and saw nothing related to the hatch at all.

I just have more memorable moments of "teammates" that i wish karma had struck them down than moments where hatch killer bias murdered me. I actually have a few times where I just hopped through the hatch even as the killer closed it/after it closed (maybe that was a bug but I blame dedicated servers). There are situations where I understand why the other survivors don't rescue me. I'm not talking about those.

Oh goodness, that is unfortunate! I hope that you get some better cohesion with teammates in the future! As for jumping through a closed hatch that definitely is a bug, was that recent? I remember last year seeing something wonky similarly but that was a long time ago and many, many patches ago.

Think about lore chief. Who would the Entity favour over the hatch? Would it rather see survivors take an easy escape, or see a struggle between the two? I think that the hatch is completed comfortable where it is. Whoever gets it first wins, and don't say that killer's actions is favoured more. Because it's not. I've seen some bs survivor escapes through the hatch where the killer was standing on it and it opens and the survivor runs onto the hatch and makes the action unavailable to close and they just jump in

This is not an RPG so I do not think that the lore is at the forefront of the game developer's reasoning. It would be neat if there was more lore-based gameplay but with the current mechanics and game structure I don't think that will ever be a thing.

As for the claim that myself and many others have made about the Killer's action being favored at the hatch that is being said because it has been the wide spread experience and at one point I know that it had been tested in game and confirmed. Granted that was awhile ago so it's possible that that has been changed, but I know that in my personal experiences it does not seem like that is the case. Standing on top of the hatch quickly pushing R1 waiting for it to open and the Killer walks up and kicks it closed almost every time is almost all that ever happens.

I will not lie and say I've not ever gotten out even with the Killer near me, but that is the minority and I've been playing this game for a very, very long time. Only now with the maps being made smaller have I felt the need to express my frustrations on the forum though and see if others share my opinion. Thank you for sharing your own! 😀

  • Unfortunately this is the result of a PvP game. A Survivor gets hit on the hook, face camped, waits 15 minutes for a lobby only to go against an ebony mori, gets tea bagged by Ghostface, or even gets a cruel message from a Killer and they decide to take out it out the next Killer. Just like Killers see tea bagging Survivors or flashlight clicking and decide to punish the next group for it. It's sad because nobody who had anything to do with it is getting 'punished'.

I also think the fact that even red tier Survivor rates are statistically shockingly low (and dropping) has created a lot of hostility. That is a balancing issue though and not the Killer's fault, but the Survivors cannot tea bag the game devs so they target those who win a majority of their games.

As a Survivor main I have literally never tea bagged, not even once. And I cannot flashlight to save my life or anyone else's so I just do not use them but if I did I wouldn't be rude with it. There are those of us out there, I like to think it's the minority who are toxic (Survivors and Killers alike) so hang in there! Happy gaming. <3

  • If I go to do that and I have 'ggez lmao' I just delete it and move on. There is no point in engaging with someone who is going to try to offend people or who need that kind of internet ego boost to feel good about themselves. Also I think the idea of someone staring at their inbox waiting for a reply instead of getting into a new game right away is kind of comical.

I do really like the suggestion in an earlier post about being overly kind and lovey back to them! 🤣

I send a kind message to almost every Killer I go against. They had to have face camped and hook slashed or brought an ebony mori for me to just not say anything. Otherwise I say, "Thanks for a good game!" or "Nice game, thank you!" to try to lift spirits. These kinds of messages are the ones worth sending!

  • These were funny! What makes Yui and Zarina seem like show offs? Is it just the frequency in which you see them after release? I notice a spike in any new Killer or Survivor but have always thought that was just to get their perks to the teachable status. I never see Yui on PS4 but I do see a lot of Zarinas.

    In my experience...

Pig - you nailed that! Especially with the latter part, Pigs seem to be extremely good at being oppressive and applying pressure the moment you get on a gen.

Jake - probably one of the most diverse looking characters I see. Wannabe boy model? Biker? Hobo? You never know what you're going to get. My personal experiences with Jakes haven't gone one way or another for me to have a stereotype for him. I wonder if the reason they are sabo'ing hooks is for the challenges, I used to do that before I got his teachable on just about everyone else.

"Being the last person should not mean you automatically lose"

    no one said that

survivors just shouldn't be in advantage in a failing state

You said that the hatch should not be in the advantage of the Survivor because they lost. I might have misunderstood but I took that to say that if a Survivor is needing to escape by the hatch then in your opinion they had already lost the game.

As it stands right now with reduced map size, extremely long delays in the hatch opening, and with Exit Gates very often appearing practically side-by-side, it is near impossible for Survivors to escape as a sole Survivor. As the escape to death ratio for Survivors is already pretty low (in the 40% range last I saw based on statistics released by the game devs) and that was before the map changes I just think that hatches should favor Survivors if the Survivor and the Killer both are present and pressing R1 (or whatever the PC and Xbox equivalent is). I also think that hatches should open more quickly. Now that Killers are guaranteed to get there more quickly, and are more likely than a Survivor to know where the hatch is as pointed out by other comments, I think this only seems fair.

  • @Terro said:

Plz god no. Even as someone who thinks that it'll help me escape more often as survivor I think making hatches favor survivors a bad idea. I understand that you did a lot of work for your team and it sounds like they potatoed but more often then not a potato is going to be the one sitting there at the hatch hoping you drop dead... I don't want these potatoes getting out. Especially when they sit in a locker next to the hatch waiting for everyone else to die.

🤣 this is such an interesting post to me! Thank you for sharing! <3 My teammates played very well in that game I mentioned as did the Killer, it was genuinely a fantastic game. But thank you!

If you are the third hooked and the fourth person does not help you or hides near the hatch then you would rather them go down with you than escape? It is funny that they are now an enemy too! Lol! What if the Killer is face camping you?

I personally sacrifice myself if I am on second hook for the fourth person though I will admit that if I'm first hook and I've saved them previously then I do feel a little salty about giving them that to get out. Lol!

Never understood these people who think the hatch opening stage should be in advantage of survivors, you lost.

I explained my opinion in detail in my original post and have said several things throughout the thread. I encourage you to read the post if you're wondering why I think what I do, or let me know if I was unclear. English is not my first language but I tried to express my opinion clearly. It is exactly that, my opinion. You clearly disagree so I would love to hear your opinion explained.

Stating that the Survivor lost at that stage seems to be a pretty preemptive statement. Losing is once the 4th Survivor has been placed on a hook in traditional gameplay. Or it means getting the least bloodpoints out of the 5 players to some. Either way I do not think that being the last remaining Survivor means that that person has lost. They have not been hooked. The Killer has not killed them. They can still open the door (though that rarely happens, especially now that the maps were shrunk for the Killers) and they could theoretically get out of the hatch. That final endgame is still part of the game and the two objectives are find the hatch (for both Survivor and Killer) and open a gate/hook the last Killer.

Being the last person should not mean you automatically lose.

Already the odds were pretty against a sole Survivor and now maps are smaller than ever. I think in the fairness of balance the hatch should open more quickly. If a Killer finds it first (as is likely) then he can close it all the sooner! But if it a Survivor has found it then they actually stand a chance of escaping from the hatch.

i play meg main and do almost all the opposite of everything you just said lol, apart from t-bag, ahhh the wonderful art of t-bagging. i only do this at the exit gates if a killer has been face camping me or ive been down by ghostface and he/she t-bags me. i dont really have a opinion on any others as i only use them if theres a Tome that needs completeing. but for other players i do tend to find that Claudettes do seem to spend most time hiding, and for the love of god LET US HEAL YOU. 😂

Which system do you play on? Perhaps one day I will see a skillfully played Meg and give a mental shout out to you! Though I do not tea bag as I feel it just fosters negativity between Survivors and Killers! But! I do not want this to turn into one of the million threads about tea bagging. If you're not on PS4 then it would be funny to know that Claudettes prefer a slow heal across several platforms. 🤣

It should open when a survivor dies, end all be all. You don't wanna be found? hop in a locker to hide from BBQ. Most killers have 0 idea where hatch is unless we see a certain aura waiting with BBQ.

I agree! It should open when the survivor dies, not 10+ seconds after.

And to clarify in the specific scenario I described here the Killer already knew where the hatch was. And with these smaller maps he was able to cross the map with ease and get to it while I stood there waiting for the hatch to open. I was at it and waiting literally from the moment she got hooked. 😂If it had opened when the survivor died it would be great.

    @Freki said:

The hatch opens IMMEDIATELY once the third survivor leaves the match completely. I've timed it, and when the soul is pulled through the sky it opens. stop trying to say you have to live just because you did X and ended up being the last alive. you are owed nothing, nor is the killer. the hatch was introduced to allow some to get out in general, not to guarentee anyone an escape. this is why the "hatch-tek" exists. once the second to last survivor disconnects the hatch opens immediately and that is abusing out of match functionality. get over yourself thinking you deserve to survive. the hatch now closes in order to prevent the survivors from opening the doors and hiding to make the game last forever if someone got hatch with key.

but once you've failed at your primary/secondary objectives of gens/totems you want a boost to get out? wow. bet you want unlimited ds strikes too!

"The Killer did nothing wrong here. He played a great game and he didn't owe me an escape. I'm not mad at the Killer, merely frustrated that even after playing a great game it comes down to losing because of a dreadfully, painfully long animation." -- If a great game is played then I certainly do think that both Survivors and Killers will typically think that they qualify for a win. I didn't say that the Killer should have let me go or that I was entitled to it. Finding the hatch should be enough to leave.

This entire post was extremely positive and was started to discuss the pros and cons of this and to share opinions. Your entire post was low grade bait and trying to be insulting and aggressive. Let's be constructive and friendly! Thanks! <3

Maps are smaller, getting to the hatch as killer is faster, they should've thinked a little bit to figure how unfair that is, it should open when the survivor's "soul" gets a little bit high.

I had not even thought about the adjusted map size. That only furthers my belief that this needs adjusted. Now a Killer can get there and kick it closed even more quickly. If a Survivor jumps out of a locker and gets to the hatch then the game will give the Killer's kick priority.

    @Dzeikor said:

I agree, the length of this animation is scandalous, and that it conditions the opening of the hatch is not justified.

There is already a technique for a killer to prevent the last survivor from escaping through the hatch: slugging.

If the killer decides to leave a last survivor free in order to kill/sacrifice the penultimate survivor, while he can prevent the use of the hatch, he commits a fault. And this fault should not be forgiven by the duration of an animation.

Exactly. And now all the Killer has to do is to move across these shrunken maps knowing that there is 10 seconds or so and that when they get there the kick gets prioritized to them. I think compensate for the shrunken maps the devs should reduce the delay on hatch opening. Just like toolboxes, gen times, map layouts, etc were changed for the Killer, I think a change to hatch speed by a few seconds seems more than fair. 🤣

If the killer gets 3k and knows where the hatch is and strategically hooks a survivor nearest to the hatch, they have earned the 4k. At this point of the game, you technically already lost since you and your team failed to do the main objective. Bring Wake Up and open the exit gates faster if 15 seconds is too long.

"And sure, I could have gone for the gate, but the gates were very close to one another and that takes so much longer. A gate as solo is almost suicide even with Wake Up, which was not in the build I had equipped for this round anyways. I thought I'd have a chance with the hatch and I had found it as I was running to a door so I took my chances and was reminded how horrible the wait time is."

I'd already addressed Wake Up. But I disagree, I don't think that that the Killer should be entitled to the hatch. Especially not when the Survivor has been there for 10 seconds or more.

that's the hard part of solo queuing, having terrible teammates. but as I stated before , your objective is to get 5 gens done , not 4. while I agree that you worked hard you still didnt finish your objective

Perhaps! It all comes down to opinion here of course. ^_^

  • @Flyguy115 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1249188#Comment_1249188

the way I see it is you were unable to complete your full objective whereas the killer is almost done with his( he needs to kill you)

so why shouldnt it favor him?

The Killer is responsible only for himself and his own progress. A Survivor has other teammates. Completing several gens on my own, running the Killer, escaping, not having been hooked all the way to endgame, feels very much like having done my full objective.

But if we look at just that moment and the hatch opening, the point of this thread, I'd also done my objective. I'd found the hatch. I was quite literally standing on top of it just waiting. Why shouldn't I be rewarded for having survived all of that time and found the hatch an entire 10+ seconds before the Killer?

This is just my opinion, of course. As I said in my original post I am not mad at the Killer as he did nothing wrong for downing me. I just think the mechanical reason as to why he downed me was not quite fair. Perhaps if the hatch is going to favor the Killer in closing it even if the Survivor is standing on top of it mashing R1, and if the Hatch is not going to open until after an animation of impalement + lifting towards the sky very slowly + several seconds even after it finishes... Then the Killer should not be able to see the Hatch until only 1 Survivor is left standing. That stops them from making a bee line to it.

I personally don't like that idea and think the hatch should just open faster. LOL

  • @drimmalor said:

I know that recording wiggling free would probably have been difficult, and the number wouldn't be able to account for things like flashlights and such, but it'd at least give a ballpark figure for those who were curious. Nbd though! <3

  • I had a post about this recently! I personally think that the game should instantly finish one gen (and only one) if any number of Survivors DC in the first minute or so. Right now the game gives Abandoned which is 500 BP to everyone.

Completing 5 gens and opening an Exit Gate and picking up slugs/unhooking as a team of 3 is miserable. I've personally never won it and the 500 point for a random person being a sore loser doesn't feel like proper compensation.

I also think that if the Killer DC's in the first minute then the Survivor's should get the points equivocal to 1 gen and 1 escape. It'd make the 10-15 minute wait time between matches feel a little less brutal if the reward for someone throwing a tantrum and ending the fun of 4 people was a bit sweeter.

But these are just my thoughts! ^_^

  • I hope that it gets taken care of soon! If it's happening to you that frequently then the chances are it's happening to a lot of people and will be patched shortly. Hang in there and happy gaming! <3

Between bloodpoints, lore, and rift progression people have a lot of reasons to try it. Not sure you can even skip some of them, would have to double check the order. Still just throwing off the need to win to dick around and have fun for a game doing whatever is a small price to pay for a bunch of nice things ain't it?

This is such a positive an upbeat post, I love it. And I agree! Unlocking Rift rewards is worth looking silly in some games and trying out a new Killer. This is a game that has a lot of variety, people should not feel punished or be afraid of losing by trying out new things! ^_^

Also, on the topic of Huntress. I don't know if they added more to her song or I've just been a potato at listening to her all of this time, but now instead of just humming she does some 'la la la's and laughs? I love it! ^_^ It makes her all the more spooky!

Let's share particularly kind and awesome messages we have gotten lately!

I haven't gotten a nice one lately but I do fondly remember once as Survivor I sent a message along the lines of, "Very fun game, thank you!" and the Killer took the time (on a PS4 no less!) to say that I had given him the hardest chase he'd had in a long time and that I'd made some very smart plays. He ultimately got a 4k but had still praised my skill which honestly made me feel very, very happy! I had just come back from a long hiatus from the game so it was heartwarming to hear that I could still give someone a run for their money. ^_^

my rank 20 survivor wants matches 😭😭😭

15 mins waiting for a match...heavy killer main, but i used to like playing drunken survivor...

Survivor main here but I play my fair share of Killer. Which system are you on?

I've heard that PC wait times are really short right now. Unfortunately, PS4 wait times are atrocious right now. If the forums and Reddit are to be believed it has a lot to do with the most recent patches (nerfing toolboxes, boosting gen times, closing god loops, shrinking maps, adding frequent dead zones). There has been an undeniable tilt in one side's favor. Call it balancing, call it catering, all that I know is I am getting so much crochet done while I'm waiting in these lobbies for a game. 😂

Hang in there! Things will change, they always do in this community. Happy gaming. <3

  • If you are the last person in the game then you should have a bleed out option. If there are other Survivors who are unhooked there is still a chance. If you are the only Survivor then you do not have a chance and therefor should have an option to push a button and bleed out. I was recently down in a match as the last Survivor. The Killer kicked the hatch closed a few feet in front of me.

I did not have a perk to get up and even if I did the Killer would have downed me. I know this because I watched for 2 minutes as Ghostface tea bagged me. The entire time.

And if I DC then I get a penalty and none of the blood points that I earned. So I had to just sit there and watch. A button to instant bleed out and to not waste my time watching Ghostface tea bag for the entirety of an end game breakdown would have been really, really nice.

  • I think what is being missed here is the 1% is referring only to great skill checks. Now getting a great skill check barely increases the bar instead of ticks it up by a few seconds.

Gen times as a whole went up and the penalty for having multiple survivors on a generator went up by 5%. It's the difference of like almost 10 seconds if I recall. Or maybe it's 7-8. And that's on a four person generator. For solo or duos it's longer.

Furthermore maps were reduced in size and dead zones were added. This came after even a purple toolbox with prime add ons still doesn't even fill half of one generator and that's BEFORE they made generators take longer.

Generators take longer. Great skill checks do next to nothing. Toolboxes are borderline useless. Maps are smaller, god loops are closed, dead zones are frequent. Even the slowest Killer is still faster than a Survivor and will down them if there are no windows/palettes/clever plays. Hatches take forever to open. Exit gates take forever to open. Hook timers still go just as fast. The already low survival rate of high ranking Survivors has gone down even more. Killers were already winning over half of all matches played. Now they are winning even more.

What more do Killers want? I'm not being facetious, as a person who plays mains Survivor (so I feel the hurt) and also plays Killer (I'm higher ranking than I've ever been and have more 4ks than ever) I genuinely want to know what more the Killers want.

  • @starkiller1286 said:

Unlucky, the only reason i can think for the delay is to let the killer have time to look for it but even then before egc it lead to hatch standoffs. But yeah it takes forever for them to go to spider heaven wish there was an option to just send you to the stat screen after the body goes limp.

Speeding it up would make it a lot more fair. I understand that the delay is to give the Killer time to find it too, but if the Survivor finds it it's literally the only main viable option to escape often times. Especially when doors are super close together or the Killer can lay portals/traps/spawn runes/etc.

Killers are also mechanically faster. Even the slowest Killer can outrun a Survivor. If it comes to the end game of finding the hatch then the Killer is able to look around more quickly and thus close it more quickly. Or in the game I just played they are able to cross the entire match and hit me twice before the door even opens.

  • @SVamp said:

I think you made a great point. Them already making the killer able to close the hatch was a wrong move. The least they could do is speed up the time for the hatch to open.

On the killer closing the hatch/you jumping at the same time issue, definitely the player jumping should take precedence. The other 3 survivors are already dead/dc'ed, it's only fair that if a survivor finds the hatch and initiates the jump sequence, that they should be able to escape.

I am fine with the Killer being able to close the hatch, personally, but I do not think it should take priority over the Survivor. If the Killer was unable to close the hatch then the endgame of 1 v 1 would just be about the hatch, the doors would be obsolete in that scenario. But I do think that the Survivor should take priority, and I do think the hatch should open more quickly.

  • @Booper_Of_Snoot said:

Killer needs time to get to it. If killer knows where hatch is, it is just as owed to killer as it is to survivor for a escape, all about who gets there first. And if killer and survivor are both on it, yes the animation favors killer, and it should.

Why should the Killer, who already is getting a 3K, be favored in your opinion? In my opinion the Killer should not take priority, the Survivor has no chance of escaping. It's essentially 1 win vs 3 wins at that case. Favoring the Killer gives them 4 wins and denies the Survivor anything.

  • @starkiller1286 said:

The real issue you are having is that the hatch doesb't open until the full sacrifice animation plays out. I agree mostly because if the dead survivor dcs before the sacrifice animation completes it hurts the killer and opens the hatch instantly. And since the killer is free to roam after death hook it should just open since it's common knowledge it's a 1v1.

Though it probably would have been best if you looked for a locker to wait in until it opened since if demo closed it you could just go open the gates as he sets up the portals.

Right, that's why I was saying the animation having to play is unfair. If the animation were faster it wouldn't feel so frustrating but as it stands I sit there and they get hooked... The Entity stabs them... The body goes limp... It starts to rise... It rises and rises... Then another 2-3 seconds pass. The entire thing feels like it takes like 10 seconds or more. I need to actually time it.

Meanwhile the Survivor stands there and just waits for the Killer to come up and hit them twice.

And sure, I could have gone for the gate, but the gates were very close to one another and that takes so much longer. A gate as solo is almost suicide even with Wake Up, which was not in the build I had equipped for this round anyways. I thought I'd have a chance with the hatch and I had found it as I was running to a door so I took my chances and was reminded how horrible the wait time is.

Due to the time consuming process to message people on console, I prefer to give props since it's faster.

Another thing, depending on their maturity, some people like to take GG as Git Gud instead of Good Game. I tend to write out the entire phrase to prevent such things from happening! 😋

Do props show? I thought that props was an empty feature that the devs said would one day do something? If it shows then lots of people get props from me and I've never gotten any. LOL Or at least I don't know where to look to see if I've gotten any.

I only msg a GG if i really mean it. Mostly after long and/or super-close games.

I have started to do it pretty frequently because the general consensus from Killer mains is that they see a lot of toxicity from Survivors. Survivors feel it from Killers too, of course, and so when I'm a Killer I send supportive messages as well.

Even if the game wasn't really good, but I can tell the other team tried, I will applaud them. I think that's especially important with the current matchmaking situation. If I stomp on a level 18 Killer that's super not fair and I want to tell them it was a good game and to hang in there because I want people to stay in this community and not get discouraged. :)

I just just say gg back.

It's when they add the ez or something else that things get spicy. A good go to comeback of mine is to point out that I earned more BP than them. As killer that usually is the case and it gets them to start rambling

Thank you for your response! <3 I actually just edited my message though because I realized it might sound like I was looking for hot takes to send back to people. 🤣What I was actually trying to get was positive stories.

I am sorry to hear that you get 'gg ez' and other troll-like messages. Hang in there and stay positive and hopefully it will have a ripple effect and at least counter some of the negativity that people see so often. <3

It's about 50/50 for me. I will be the first to admit that I am pretty bad at this game but some of the solo survivors that I get matched with are something else. It is a breath of fresh air when I get a competent team.

Problem is, when I get matched with really good teammates, I always try to sacrifice myself for whoever looped the Killer the most, so I usually end up trading places with them on the hook during egc and suicide so they don't try to save me and get out. I have all the characters that I want leveled up, as things are now, blood points aren't that important to me so I don't mind dying.

I play a pretty altruistic game as well, especially in the end game. Especially if someone is hooked and they haven't been hooked prior to gen completion.

I saw my first escape in a LONG time earlier. It was not me though. 😂 But I upped a slugged teammate and then ran a NoEd killer long enough for her to escape the gate. The other 2 were already killed. But she was a fellow Kate and I couldn't just let her die!

  • @DelsKibara said:

In recent days, like around 50-60% of my games.

    Kinda hard to escape when you get tunneled for using Object, ngl ^^;

That is still a lot, especially compared to what most people are experiencing! Great job! <3

20% in solo mode for me

Wow, that is quite a lot! When asking people on my friend's list in the game most people said they do not even remember what an open Exit Gate looks like. 😂

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I have found it's basically a coin flip.

Sometimes I'm unlucky and sprint into the killers blade. Every choice I make somehow gets me right in front of the killer. Sometimes I can survive if the survivors I'm with are especially altrustic and take pity upon me and my suicidal decisions.

Sometimes I'm on a team of sentient potatoes that somehow started a game. Once in a blue moon I can manage to win anyway if the killer is too busy slaughtering those dum dums for me to get away.

If I'm having a good game (and manage to not jump onto the killers blade like a moth to a flame) with at least an OK team, I will usually get out alive.

This post made me laugh several times, thank you! <3

Would you say that you escape through the Exit Gates more often than not? I cannot seem to escape for the life of me. Several times it's been a 3k and I'm just standing at the Exit Gate waiting for it to open and the Killer just walks over. Even if I play the endgame very stealthy they always get me when I'm on the door. Though often the doors seem to be spitting distance from each other.

  • @Shocktober said:

Quite a bit, maybe 70-80%+ of the time. But I also usually run left behind, a key, spine chill, blendette, and am willing to let people die on hook so I can get out the hatch.

It's not needed alot of the time, but there's also plenty of games where your team is getting 2 tapped into your gen getting repeatedly popped and there's actually nothing to do except wait for the hatch. Especially now that looping isn't really too viable anymore, been seeing solo Q teams get stomped harder than ever.

If I don't have a key, I run plunderers until I get another key. Or maybe wake up + resilience and just stand on a door until the killer finds the hatch. Opening a door in ~15 seconds is a pretty good alternative to left behind key.

Is your 70-80% through the Exit Gates or is it primarily a hatch escape?

I play a lot more altruistic than you do for certain! 🤣I try to unhook people unless it is outright suicide. I also never bring keys unless it is for a challenge because I think that keys are just the Survivor equivalent of a mori and I hate moris.

Which ability let's you open the gate so quickly? I thought that Wake Up was a perk like Leader which affected Survivors near you? I cannot check the game right now. <3 so I apologize for asking a question with an easy answer.

  • I really like Kate and Huntress's outfits. The Spirit's seems good as well, though admittedly I am not a fan of the Spirit design a whole so I'm not a great judge. Also Julie from The Legion has a nice outfit!

That being said... This Rift does feel very charm heavy. I felt like the last Rift had more unique clothing (which is my main motivation for the Rift) while this one is charms to death and then some recolors.

  • @csandman1977 said:

Kindred and detectives hunch are great if you solo. Well worth the perk slots

Thank you! I'll look at those.

  • I personally love the Kate Denson outfit! The only thing I'm not wild about is the daisy in her hair. That ponytail is SO CUTE otherwise. And the sweater and jeans are a really adorable combination.

The top of Dwight's outfit also looks like it might be really nice when paired with other items.

I also really like the entirety of the Huntress outfit. It is a really great concept and comes from her direct lore which is always a plus! 😍

Doesn't the rift start on the 29th?

It seems you are correct! I read somewhere on the forum that it was the 19th.

As for the other replies, again I'm looking for us to share helpful tips only! There has to be something that can be done. Otherwise how is that any fun for anyone? What's the point of a chase if the Survivor has no chance for an escape and the Killer just has to press 'forward' on their remote/keyboard? That seems boring for everyone.

  • @Godot said:

What a wholesome and weird post.

I do ship Jane and myself though.

    8^)

Haha thank you! I try to keep all of my posts wholesome and respectful/cheerful! ^_^

    Ace and myself.

LOL! <3 This post is gold.

With the right cosmetics Ace can be a real DILF though.

  • @MrsHag said:

Idk why but i ship Feng and Jake.

    Pls dont come at me

I could actually see that! Especially with some of the 'bad boy' Jake cosmetics, he could catch Feng's eye. 🤣

The last two Rifts released with a mid-chapter patch, so it's safe to assume that the third one will follow suit. The patch should come out around late April/early May.

    Thank you very much! <3

    *Laughs in Feng Min*

The journal entry about Feng Min

"A young woman surprised me the other day. She is another guest in this nightmare I can not seem to wake up from. She came running, passed by a wounded girl and didn’t stop. Just a glance behind her, and she was off again. With a determined look on her face, like she had something important to do. A lone wolf maybe? I am not sure what I should call this new person."

I love Min (favourite character and main) but just from this lore extract she doesn't seem to have any really care to help out her fellow survivors.

This lore extract also implies that there would be nothing detrimental for saving and helping this person it really wouldn't put Min at risk in the slightest she just considers what she's doing more important than helping others.

If you want a gameplay comparison she's the type of survivor will immediately open the exit gate and leave rather than helping the people who just got down.

I had not read that journal entry yet! Savage Feng Min! I love it!

PS4 Baby Nurse Main here. It does suck but what is worse is the lower frames you blink right behind/right on top of someone and you can't tell if they spun left or right so you pick a direction, spin, swing and hope you guessed right sometimes. But yeah if you over blink and try to spin and swing they can gain a lot of distance on you by holding w because of how slow you turn.

You can't do all the cool blinks pc players are able to pull off either.

@Kate_Main_01 Thanks for the appreciation. Some of my favorite games are with extended chases vs a good survivor, sometimes I will intentionally throw the game chasing someone because I want to learn a new structure or because they are good at juking. Doesn't hurt that EGC Nurse can be very deadly with a survivor on hook.

I have not played on the PC and I do not watch gaming videos - but I do hope that with the next Nurse update they increase her playability on PS4 for you! Until then hang in there if you love her!

The Nurses that I went against were pretty incredible and had some very smart moves so it is possible!
