I really like the Nightfall ability for the Dredge. It'll be cool to see this idea implemented in the game. It'll make certain maps really scary like RPD and Midwich.
-
I'd like this too, but only if its Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness Lara Croft.
-
Silent Hill for sure. I started playing DBD when the SH chapter first released and remember really getting into the game and loving the chapter theme and music that played in the lobby.
-
I think I have about a thousand of those left still, most of them on Kate.
-
The Spirit
She is by far the best original killer in the game. Spectral themed monsters have a unique horror element to them that I think a lot of people find very interesting. Every time I see the Spirit in game I am amazed at how cool this character is and the amount of creative detail that went into her design.
-
To me NOED always felt like the perk that made it seem as if the killer just started hacking. It started being less of an issue when I put Inner Healing into my builds but I still think the perk gives way too much power.
-
Never played it. Don't know anything about it. The perks don't look all that exciting. Maybe there will be some new flashlight plays. Just seems like a very random collab.
For me its a meh/10
-
I want a trash talking gigachad that swears at the killer like how chucky does to us. I think it would be cool if he flirts with all the female survivors too. π
-
I'm just throwing as many snowballs as I possibly can in every match. π
-
Merry Christmas one and all!
Also the art in the OP should totally be a charm in game. I love it!

Honestly, I'll never understand why they thought 5v5 was a good idea. OW clearly wasn't made for that.
I personally think it was all to make OW 2 look like a legitimate sequel to the game. They had to make enough changes to make the game feel like a new or better experience, but they failed horribly. Its a shame something like this would come out of a company like Blizzard because they used to produce really good games. The only hope I have left for them is that WoW may make a big comeback with the next 3 expansions now that Chris Metzen is back. As it stands, they're just a hollow shell of their former glory.
-
OW was fun when the heroes were broken as hell. Being able to take out an entire team in seconds with Bastion and spin forever on the point as Wrecking Ball were some of my most fun memories of OW. They're trying to balance the game too much and end up taking so much fun out of it in the process.
-
The entire game needs to be remade. I don't think DBD can keep going on like this with just slightly different holiday events each year and the occasional collab hype. Cosmetics are great, but they can only carry a game for so long and so far before the players want more substance to the actual game they play.

I never thought I'd say this but they made something worse than lootboxes. How do you ######### up monitization and the grind to the point its so hostile people want loot boxes back? Thats not even to say about the gameplay changes which just made it more frustrating and more strict for everyone.
I actually liked the loot boxes because you were able to get everything in them just from playing the game. They were basically a way to speed up the grind or for players who couldn't play long enough to get everything. I played OW so much before OW 2 came out that I almost always had a lot of loot boxes available from leveling up. Even still I would sometimes buy loot boxes just to get certain skins I wanted faster during holiday events. I remember one time I saved up 200 loot boxes from playing just to say I did it. π It took me over an hour to open them all so I never did that again.
OW 2 just felt like a huge monetization update to the game with less fun content. 5v5 was something I don't think anyone wanted. Reworks and nerfs ruined several characters for me like Wrecking Ball and Bastion. The new stat UI and rank system looked weird to me. There was just too much different from before. After awhile, I just lost almost all interest in the game. I log in from time to time and play a few matches, but I just can't get into it like I did before. It really sucks because OW used to be my favorite game.
-
The soul of Overwatch died the day OW 2 went live.
-
I've been playing Fortnite since day 1. Looking back I never would have imagined it would be what it is today. There's a reason why people say Fortnite is forever.
My favorite modes are No Build, Festival and Rocket Racing. OG Fortnite is my all time favorite since I was there from the beginning and it seems like they'll be bringing it back next year so I'm really excited about that. The new Lego mode is really fun too. This last content update was amazing and has me really excited for the future of the game. Fortnite is that game that just keeps getting better over time so I never really worry that the game will be any less fun to play as it receives new content.
-
Thats Nea? If you hadn't mentioned the name I would've figured it was a new survivor. This also looks like it could be a Fortnite skin. π
-
I wouldn't say best thus far. Maybe for you, but it wasn't a loaded chapter like the first Resident Evil chapter was for example. The chucky DLC should've come with a map of the toy factory and a new survivor, then it would be up there with the RE chapter.

I love that you say "make her hotter then Kate" like that's even remotely possible ππ€£π
It would definitely be a challenge. π
-
Her leather outfit is so cool. Hopefully they can add it next.
-
I'm still waiting for several of Kate's cosmetics to be fixed that I posted about a year and a half ago too. It was marked as under review too awhile back and still hasn't been addressed. It does seem like things are forgotten sometimes.
-
Original and make her hotter than Kate. If its a dude then someone as cool as Leon.
-
Its not that big a deal. I'm pretty sure most people are not losing any sleep over waking up and seeing their main in DBD didn't get a new cosmetic in the shop.
-
Intel Arc GPUs are fairly new, so its most likely a driver issue if I had to guess. Their drivers have gotten a lot better in recent time from what I've seen but they still have a ways to go to catch up to all the games people are playing these days. If you have a spare GPU that works with your computer you could try switching them out and see if that fixes the problem. If not, all you can really do is wait for driver updates from Intel and see if that helps.
-
I always loved watching the Ernest movies back in the day. They had a unique charm you don't see often in entertainment. I think this is a good idea if they could ever get permission to do it.
-
I think it would've been cooler to have Chucky posses your body and hook yourself after you've been downed.
-
The best thing about Chucky is all the crap he talks to you during the match. π€£
-
Trickster is already a hard killer to deal with, depending on the map. In open maps its very hard to dodge his ranged attack. Range between survivor and killers should buy time for the survivor but that is made more difficult when you also have to try and dodge things.
-
Totally cursed.
-
It would be fun to find random items on the map that survivors could use like this. It would add more flavor to the game.

Video games are diverse by nature
only when saying that literal clones are also diverse - as confirmed by yourself. I wonder why you try to bring this argument again..
Every single pride charm in DBD should be a playable character instead of a charm. That is natural diversity and the point I was making.
no. Not at all. That would be not natural but going along a checklist.
Diversity seems to be a self defined word to many people. If you place an apple and orange beside each other you have diversity even though they are 2 common fruits. Video games, by the mere definition of diversity, are diverse by nature.
no. Not at all. That would be not natural but going along a checklist.
Perhaps if it were all done at once then I can see that argument being made. But do you really think a spectrum of pride charms is natural representation? The only natural lgbt representation DBD has in my opinion is one character who was revealed to be gay 5 years after his debut.

Ah, the old slippery slope fallacy. Someone dares to mention they would like to see some charms representing disabilities. When will the madness end?
"Representation should feel natural in video games otherwise it has no substance and just serves to send a message."
And that message would be?
DBD is a horror game about killers hunting down survivors in a nightmare created by a space demon. Everything within the game should feel natural to that aesthetic. Video games are diverse by nature, so in my opinion something like a charm representing a cause from our reality feels out of place in the game. I guess if the cause appeals to someone personally they will feel differently about it.

Representation does feel natural in DbD already. Even for disabilities like OP is asking for.
the soul of this game stays intact because the very creators stand behind representation and inclusion.
there is no problem, only the one from people against it bc of their xenophobia. One person asking for something to be included is not a problem.
Every single pride charm in DBD should be a playable character instead of a charm. That is natural diversity and the point I was making. I wonder if the OP had a character within the game that appeals to them in this regard if they would have made this post.

Happy Halloween!
Too soon? π
-
This is always the inevitable outcome once the door has been opened. One thing will be added to a video game in support of a cause, then someone will come along and desire their cause be represented as well. On the onset this may not seem like a problem, but this is a never ending cycle that is impossible to appease everyone. Once a game is seen as a bastion for a cause, others will come and desire to have it be a bastion for theirs too. If that cycle continues, the soul of the game is replaced for the sake of representing the cause.
Representation should feel natural in video games otherwise it has no substance and just serves to send a message.
-
I'll stop doing it when survivors get a better way to notify their team they need to be unhooked. You should know playing survivor how often you see your team just ignore you on the hook or realizes you need unhooking when its too late and you die before they even get there. The game needs some kind of ping system or better communication tools.
-
I think any survivor who opens an exit gate to 99% should get a permanent exposed status and their aura revealed to the killer. I can't tell you how many times I have ran up to a 99% door and no one was there to open it and I get downed having to open it myself. If they did, people would either open them all the way or not touch them at all.

"Scale it both ways"?
How would that look like?
The more gens are done while no hooks are achieved
- the slower the gens progress gets?
- Or the less hooks the killer needs per survivor at certain thresholds?
- Or the more haste the killer gets?
None of those sound balanced and I can't come up with anything that would. So what would be your idea behind your statement?
The match should scale in a similar way to the hatch spawning when 1 survivor is left. Its unreasonable to expect 1 survivor to repair 1-5 gens in this situation, so a hatch feature is necessary otherwise the killer always wins after 3 eliminations. As survivors are eliminated, less gens should be required and perhaps even repair faster. Likewise as more gens are repaired without survivor eliminations, less hooks are required for eliminations. It would have to take into consideration a few circumstances such as progress on both sides, but I think a balance change like this would make the game an overall better experience for everyone.

I think Gen time should be dropped to 80sec. But 4 survivors alive requires 6 of 8 Gens complete to power the Gates. 3 alive requires 5 Gens, 2 alive requires 4 Gens.
Means if a survivor is on last hook with 5 Gens done. If that survivor get sacrificed, the Gates will be powered, which killers prefer to chase/hook other survivors. This change would make tunneling less encouraged.
This is an interesting idea. It would encourage killers to seek out other survivors more often rather than tunneling 1-2 down early since they know it would cause the exit gate to require less gens to be powered. There are multiple ways the game could scale based on the situation that would encourage players to keep playing and even play in more creative ways. Incentivizing progress continuation is the key here.

I don't think the scenario in question has much to do with "punishing" the killer. I think it's more survivor vs survivor at that point. They're both hoping to outlast each other.
They shouldn't feel like they have to. The situation should feel winnable within reason to the circumstance. More difficult yes, but not so much where the last 2 survivors just want to give up.

So because survivors are losing they should have easier winning conditions? Why? You won't win every game you are in and it doesnt give you an excuse to hide 40 minutes from the killer. Ive had multiple survivors try to hide from me so i will DC and give the win to them. I've reported every single one of them.
This is why ultimate weapon is in my arsenal since it helps me find these corner hopping hiders. If you are losing the game just accept it and try to do the gens. Don't become annoyance and entitled because the game didnt go your way.
I'm saying the game should scale as it progresses, which is within reason. My suggestion was also meant to discourage survivors from hiding in these situations. I'd rather they be incentivized to keep playing rather than risk being punished for not. By the way, survivors start losing the very moment a survivor is downed and even more so when they become hooked. The objectives now become split and recovering from hook saves hinders gen progression based upon how aggressive the killer is and how fast they can recover from the situation. If survivors feel too pressured, giving up may seem like the better option for them than progression. Scaling the match would solve a lot of this by creating more incentives to keep playing rather than giving up. The old hatch system worked this way. The gens required to make it spawn was based upon how many survivors were still in the match. Gens required to power the exit gate should scale in a similar way.

Good idea
What would you have in mind for killer with 1 or 2 hooks at 0-1 gens for a "balance/catch-up" mechanic?
Scale it both ways.

See, to me this is an ego thing. At 2 dead with 4 gens remaining, the game is over, there is no "winning". Just let it go.
Only in situations where the killer was really being an ass would I find it more worth my time to hide than to just die and move on.
When I find myself in a similar situation as a surv, I'll lay low for a couple of minutes, but if/when it becomes clear the other remaining surv is committed to hiding, I'll just out myself or go jump on a gen.
And in some cases, in situations where two survs remain in an unwinnable situation, the killer will spare one still trying to play and hunt down the hider. It's just more "honorable" if you want to call it that.
Two people taking up half an hour scumming for hatch (which isn't a win in any meaningful sense anyway) is just pathetic behavior.
Proposing that the parameters of the game to change to constantly keep the odds even after the killer has worked to get them in their favor sounds ridiculously entitled, tbh. In DBD, you live and die based on your team, for the most part; it's what you sign on for when choosing survivor, for better or worse. No one is entitled to a constantly evolving path to victory, or for things go "go well for them".
Think about the reverse - if the killer gets and unfriendly map and a team brings in a bunch of souped up tool boxes and slams out 3-4 gens before the killer gets more than a down or two, should the game parameters change to "balance" the new situation? Of course not, that's just absurd. Survs would riot, and justifiably so.
Have the dignity to go out fighting, take the L and move on.
The game is over when either the last survivor escapes or the last survivor is eliminated. If the norm is to be just eliminate 2 survivors and you win then there is no incentive for survivors to keep trying at this point. They have to become perfect at the game for the same outcome. This is a fairness and balance issue. The problem in these situations is that the favor of the match too quickly shifts to the killer. If there were scaling in gen requirements based on survivor eliminations it would still be fair for the killer, because they still have 2 eliminations and only need 2 more. If less gens were required and they repaired faster based on the circumstance it would give the remaining survivors more incentive to play and try. The killer should gain an advantage in these situations, but not this much of an advantage. Even when 1 survivor is eliminated a lot of survivors just simply give up or don't try as hard because they can already see how it is likely going to end and the truth is, they're usually right.
-
Survivors often give up in situations like this, but also don't like rewarding the killer in a hopeless situation. Gens required to power the exit gate should scale based on how many survivors are left. 2 survivors needing to do 4 gens to escape isn't worth it, and will rarely end well for them. The game can change too quickly in favor of the killer, so there needs to be balance in this regard.
-
This definitely needs to be addressed. At the very least the unhook protections should prevent him from being able to do this. Its already bad enough that addons allow him to have this much power for the duration of the entire match once it activates. The addons themselves need to be reworked. They give too much power for too little effort. The effect should not be able to be permanent.

I would agree if games like Fortnite didn't already have this practice and it's really disappointing to have short-term FOMO. I will still maintain that nobody loses anything by having these cosmetics available all year round. We should be looking forward to the events themselves, not the return of cosmetics that aren't even guaranteed to come back year after year. What if they forget one? What if they decide to go back to exclusive and have cosmetics that are never ever available again despite not being tied to a third party license?
Just as an example, since you brought up a rotating shop, I've been waiting for well over a year for Mando to come back to Fortnite so I could buy it but it never has, and that's extremely frustrating.
This is literally a "shut up and take my money" moment, lol.
I do agree it is annoying to wait endlessly for a cosmetic to come back with no confirmation that it will or won't. There are some skins in Fortnite I am waiting for to come back as well with no indication either way. I don't agree with that kind of shop rotation, so when I say I think DBD would benefit from a shop rotation I would also want it to be done reasonably. Previous years holiday event skins could show up randomly throughout the year several times so people wouldn't have to wait a year to get them. As far as more rare skins go, they could also appear randomly, but perhaps not as often as other skins but still with a certainty that they will show up again.

It's BS and it's going to turn off players or at the very least bite BHVR in the ass because they fail to realize that the economic situation in the world is not good with all the inflation and recessions going on where people can't afford to buy much needed things let alone cosmetics in a video game.
So rather than leave the skins on year round so players who might be squeezed for cash now but might not be a few months from now can buy them then, BHVR is just saying either buy now or F off. How is that smart business-wise or how does that treat the very customers keeping them afloat in any reasonable or respectful way? It's not. If they were smart, they would release these various collections in permanent DLC sets much like Head Case, The 80's Suitcase, and even the Attack on Titan skins were released in those 2 DLCs just before they were removed. That would be smart business-wise and would also be more respectful to the players.
Just imagine how much more skins they would've sold if they made & kept those Attack on Titan skin DLCs from the start of the release of those skins and how many players who were unable to buy them during those few weeks in July would've been able to buy them earlier or later. And the same goes for any other limited time skins. It's a scummy thing to do and stupid too on the business end and pretty much scummy decision a business can make is also stupid.
If someone is struggling financially to make ends meet the last thing they should be thinking about is cosmetics in a video game.
I think the simple answer to this that would benefit everyone would be to have a shop rotation that updates every 24 hours with cosmetics from any annual event. It would encourage people to login more often and give more opportunities for players to pick up cosmetics they may have missed out on before without having to wait for the next event.

If you like the early Resident Evil and 90's style video games there is a game being developed by MoonGlint Games called Echoes of the Living. They recently had a playable demo available on Steam and will have another demo on Steam on October 26th. The demo was super fun so I expect the full game to be awesome. The full game looks like it might be out sometime Q1 of 2024.
Other than that I usually play 7 Days to Die. This game is getting a big update soon that I'm really looking forward to.
-
I have 3000 hours in the game and hardly ever escape as a survivor main. Survivors have just as many if not more bad games as killers do. The problem is the game changes too quickly as it progresses. If a survivor is eliminated early, the shift in motivation to keep trying changes dramatically. Seeing 5 gens up and only 3 survivors left is one of the biggest deterrents for survivors to keep trying in my opinion. The situation is now that much harder for the same outcome if you do manage to escape.
-
I know you guys really like profit,
I hope you don't think this is a bad thing for a live service game that exists to make profit for the company that made it.
It doesn't bother me either way, though I'd prefer a shop rotation where someone could log into the game and buy a skin they missed out on from a previous event when it rotates back into the shop.

Focusing on what generates the most profit is the right decision.
For a corporate drone, maybe. But none of us work for BHVR so none of us should be so concerned with how much profit they make. I don't care how much money Feng makes, I don't like her. I like other characters and I want them to get cosmetics more often.
This works both ways. Why should they care about anything you do if it isn't in their best interest as a company and not a shared interest by a large amount of people within the community? Not saying they do or don't. Just giving it as an example as to why it can lean certain ways when it comes to cosmetics. If they devote half their time to producing cosmetics for characters that people rarely play then you and a few others may be happy, but the company suffers as a result. It costs money to make this stuff. People have to be paid for it as well as the resources involved in creating them. Besides all that, if after all of the expenses they aren't in considerable profit then it only makes sense to focus on what does generate good enough profit to make it worth their investment.
-
I love the glowing eyes effect. They should do stuff like this more often.

But yes, I get it.
Money money money money money money....
Because those characters were better received by the player base than others. They appealed to more people than the other ones did. It would be reckless for them to ignore that and focus on the least popular characters of the game in the same way they focus on the most popular. That is not a bad thing by the way. As I said, this game exists to make profit for the company that made it. Focusing on what generates the most profit is the right decision.
