Got it! It's not important that I know how to use or abuse any of these things anyways. It's just important for the killer to believe I know what I'm doing and will use it to the full extent possible.
I played a game earlier where the person tunneled me and called me trash, just for having OoS. This was my first day running it. So that was pretty exciting! I feel like a tourist, finally seeing the toxicity I've heard so much about!
Haha yeah, I don't see a problem with using it every once in awhile, especially solo. Perks are there for a reason!
But if you really wanted to know, Haddonfield is mainly hated because:
- Gen spawns - Since a lot of gens are inside the houses, it wastes the killers time & creates a lot of vault loops.
- Bush blocks - This is a problem for both sides, but for some reason a few bushes on the map act as objects & you cannot go through them. It's very weird.
- House with basement - This house has a very strong loop with the whole staircase to vault to basement to pallet & etc.
Have fun!

I had borrowed time but when one perk had to make the sacrifice to become the OoO I decided that removing BT was the absolute most self-centered decision I could have made. Sacrifice altruism for self resilience.

What makes Haddonfield so bad?
What doesn't make Haddonfield bad? It's one of the most hated killer maps atm.

Replace that flashlight with a key & bring a Haddonfield offering to be a true villain.

You're missing BT. People hate BT. Swap out Kindred for it and you're golden. But yea, pretty close.
Noo, that is OoO. Let's take a moment to pray for the killers that go against this person.

It's even worse with long arm Freddy.
-
Wow, I'm honestly suprised about the results because imho I hate Balanced Landing because it's so situational.
Anyways, even though Dead Hard is super unreliable, I would definitely say it is my favorite because it can make a 30 second chase turn into a 2 minute one if used correctly. Not to mention, whenever I don't have it I will say I feel a bit more anxious when being chased.
Needless to say, Sprint Burst is a close second. I love combo-ing it with Fixated & I also love that the killer almost always decides not to chase me because I have it.

Lol yeah. I always have a hard time running STBFL because I can never resist hitting the obsession even with 8 stacks.

I definitely give Dweet the most love out of all of the survivors. I mean, he obviously deserves it. Look at him!
-
The only time I ever see bodyblocking as annoying is when the person with Borrowed Time is blocking me from chasing their savior. You're just asking to be hooked again.
Otherwise it's just a free hit & I usually don't mind.
-
One of the biggest reasons why I love Bubba.
-
Was running Rancor + Nemesis one day & had a guy who camped pallets and tbagged. Well I found him at the endgame, and mori'd him then and there.
If he wouldn't have been cocky with the stuns, he wouldn't have been the obsession therefore wouldn't have gotten mori'd.
Was told that Rancor apparently was a crutch perk & was the only reason why he died despite me finding him would've killed him anyways.
Boo hoo.
-
He'd probably roast Jake up for sabotaging his poor meat hooks over n over. Those hooks are his children, you know!
Just don't forget to add the carrots, onions, potatoes, rosemary, etc. Otherwise you'll just be eating stale Jake, because we all know Jake isn't exactly the juiciest (coughcoughJanecough).

I don't even know why it's really a discussion, they aren't going to add a delay to gen tapping and DS lol.
Like I said to CheyeneKL, I know they'll never add it because if they still haven't fixed basic console issues then they'll never do this.
You said don't be afraid of conversation, so I shared my thoughts. I thought that was what you encouraged me to do? Not everything that's discussed on the forums needs to have a chance of being put in.

Don't be afraid of conversation. I play both PS4 and PC. PC more, but tons of hours on both.
You don't see what you don't want to see. There is no reason to add more "coding" to the perk because of issues that are more optimization + QOL. The issue you are having with your controller should be fixed within an entirely different plan than to affect a perk.
Adding a 1-3 second delay can be used to bait the killer and can also be used to stop regressing gens which is not what the perk is intended for. I can promise you there will be no delay when the final version is designed, because it doesn't make any sense to do that.
Baiting the killer wouldn't be a problem because it can be countered just like old DS.
If the survivor decides to gen tap, they can decide to either be slugged because they baited & the killer punished that or do the gen & risk getting their DS deactivated.

That would better describe actual psychopaths like Rolling.
The issue I have is that the DBD devs downplayed how evil he truly is, to the point that he almost seems cute.
They did the same thing for Pig & Demo. Pig just makes you want to boop the snoot & throw pallets down to hear her squeak and Demo just makes you want to pet him like the doggo he is.
-
Definitely balanced, gives the killer bloodpoints & gives the survivor a chance to hop into a locker real quick to counter the aura reads. Simple as that.
-
I know you've already accepted an answer, but let me just say that..
- Switch graphics are so bad that survivor faces don't even load in when you're on the homescreen/in a lobby.
- The maps are unbelievable dark for some reason compared to other platforms. This is a nightmare for killer.
- If you think PS/Xbox lags, Switch is a whole different story. Skill checks make you lag, struggling on hook usually ends up in you dying because of lag, bloodlust makes you lag, etc.
- Unless you have the pro controller/have it docked, the controls are so wonky & inefficient imo even if you rebind your actions.
- Etc. I'd recommend saving your money unless you're REALLY craving it for on-the-go.

The devs tried to implement a "Hook Camping" nerf, it didn't work.
That just shows that they are in agreement that it is something that should be addressed. I am not here to try to "prove" a point that has already been proven. Everybody already knows that Camping and Tunneling can and are abused during matches.
🤦♀️I've been trying to get you to come up with a fix these last 2 replies because I'm genuinely in agreement that it's abusive when done in the beginning of the match although the survivors can just do gens.
Think. Think. Think.

I never specificed which part of the match it was.
If there are 5 gens up and a killer just feels like camping not acknowledging that there are other survivors to chase, that isn't being "strategic", that is abusing a mechanic that exists with 0 downsides for doing so.
Then specify when it's fair & not fair to you, because we can't read your mind. You obviously don't approve of it at the beginning of the match, no?
With that being said, what do you think the devs should do about it? If you can come up with a constructive fix for it, then more people might agree with you. I just don't see how it's possible given the fact that the devs won't know if it's necessary or not in the match.

It is. I agree.
However, the Camping and Tunneling I am talking about is the type where the killer has no warranted reason to use them.
They do it because they CAN. That should be changed.
What point are you trying to prove here? If camping and tunneling is justifiable when the match is coming to a close (which it is) & not at the beginning of the match, then how are the devs supposed to make a fix? How are the devs supposed to know if it's okay to do it or not?
I've very confused as to how you want them to fix this.

Pop & Overcharge is really good together imo considering most survivors don't see it coming. It's even better on Doc because the madness makes the skill checks waaay harder to hit, especially if you're running the impossible skill-check build.

Love Predator although it runs terrible on console.
-
It's the grind for me. As much as it puts me off because grinding is so time-consuming, it's a goal to strive for & I think that's what keeps me motivated.
Though I will say, I have all killers & survivors lvl 50 with some prestiges on both sides, so that I don't really have much left to grind for considering I could care less about having everybody P3.
Not to mention, other than Friday The 13th & its dead playerbase, there is no other game similar to DBD.
-
I've been liking Blood Pact on survivor because although it's pretty useless, I just like the idea of being bonded with the obsession & sticking together the entire match, if they're a good teammate anyways.
I've also been liking Rancor on killer because hunting the obsession at the endgame is usually pretty fun/intense for them. Whenever I see the killer has Rancor & I'm the obsession, I get scared too. Hell, one time when my friend was the obsession & the killer had Rancor, I missed my DS on purpose because I wasn't about to be mori'd later.

You're welcome, friend!
I spent my time on Switch. I still often play with a friend who is on Switch, and I still hear her yell "NOOOO I ACCIDENTALLY STARTED WORKING ON THE GEN WHILE TRYING TO VAULT!". I do NOT miss that at all LOL
IMO, I think it should be an accumulative timer. If gen tapping wasn't enough to deactivate it, that COULD be abused to get... 60ish seconds of very inefficient gen work (like I saw one freak Claudette repair an entire gen... I think she was afraid of skill checks LMAO). But if you only had up to 1-3 seconds TOTAL that you could touch a gen before it deactivates, you couldn't get anything more than 3 seconds total of gen work done before it deactivates.
I also think that this should apply to healing, as the game will prioritize healing a teammate rather than allowing you to vault or throw down a pallet on occasion. Just require more than 1-3 seconds of healing for it to deactivate and I think most players will find it fair for the limitations of controller set ups.
Killers hate it when survivors tap a gen they just spent time kicking. It's really annoying, makes the gen kick feel pointless unless you have a perk related to it (like Overcharge or Opression). But I do not think avoiding that is worth more than making sure controller players don't get punished for DBD running poorly through no fault of their own.
I agree, though I doubt this change would even happen in the first place due to the poor optimization on console all-around. I play on PS4 (just recently got a PS5 & I'm hoping I won't have to deal with this anymore once I set it up), and the FPS completely drops if bloodlust kicks in, when I Dead Hard, etc. It's terrible but if they still haven't fixed stuff like that, I doubt they'll do this.
Just letting you know, I respect you and your friend to the moon and back because I also have a Switch, and I bought DBD for a "on the go" experience a long time ago. Needless to say, I'll never play that again unless I have a huge craving when I'm not home, because it runs so so so bad on Switch & not to mention that every map is extremely dark. If any console needs optimization the most, it's Switch.

No, I agree with @Karao_Ke here. Just because you play mouse and keyboard and have the privilege of not having a bunch of the same actions bound to the same button, doesn't mean that everyone else does. The possibility of "abuse" from tapping a gen to stop regression honestly doesn't really seem like something that matters more than accidental deactivation. I think BHVR absolutely should make sure that you have to total more than a full second altogether of touching the gen before it deactivates solely due to this issue.
I myself play on a good PC on mouse and keyboard after a long struggle of switching from controller, but I well remember my switch days where it was often almost completely out of your control. If you have bad frame rate (*cough* most console players *cough*) you are hard pressed to make a good fast vault on a window when there is a gen next to it. Think, killer shack window with a generator inside. Back in my switch days, I HATED running shack if a gen was next to the window because it was EXTREMELY difficult to avoid touching the gen when you are simply trying to vault the window. You CAN avoid it on controller as long as your game runs well and you have a bit of mechanical finesse (you hold off on pressing your vault button a little longer in this set up scenario, I believe) but you do not really have this option on consoles that run poorly. I myself was very aware of the difficulty and I still found it nearly impossible to avoid at times, as you CANNOT predict frame drops that will screw up your button press timing.
Although this personally does not affect me now, I would really hate to see this shamble players who are ALREADY at a disadvantage. If you are unable to avoid touching a gen or even accidentally heal someone if they're near a vault or pallet (downed person near a vault or pallet point can REALLY mess you up on controller), you are quite likely one of the players who most definitely needs DS (even though it also happens to good players held back by their platform's performance).
You may not empathize if you have never played on controller on a poor performing console/pc, but please understand that it is a genuine issue that almost EVERY console controller player has dealt with and often continues to deal with, and is definitely more problematic than "gen touch abuse", in my opinion.
Hey, thanks for explaining it. I didn't feel like reasoning with him because I didn't want to get into a huge debate, but I appreciate you sharing what console players sometimes have to deal with. It's really frustrating especially with that example you gave about the shack gen, my god has that gotten me downed more times than I can count.
I just don't see how adding a 1 - 3 second total of doing an action would be manipulated..

It is true there are some good changes, but why wasn't the same thing said when the undying changes were announced? To me this seems very one sided that only survivor nerds are seen ad "good changes". Hopefully now that pretty much everything on the survivor side has been addressed that we'll see some Freddy/spirit and deadzone changes.
I think it's because Undying is a perk that you could take away in the first place just by doing totems, which leaves a void perk slot. Now they made it a lot less useful.
I also think it's because survivors wanted a second objective & when they finally got one, they didn't like it and it was nerfed.
But now that they did the same for DS & OoO, people are happier because both sides got a nerf on their strong perks, which makes it a lot more balanced.
-
Spirit & Huntress.
Spirit because she has little to no counterplay unless she's bad because there's no indication when she's phasing while in a chase.
Huntress because her hitboxes are somethin else lol

Atleast is wasn't Haddonfield, that map is an absolute nightmare.
Surprisingly enough, I actually like Springwood on both sides. A lot of fun as Ghostface imo.

Love Oni's lobby soundtrack. It's always a bop to listen to while I'm in queue with him.
Hillbilly's terror radius gives me the hibbie jibbies. Sometimes I'll genuinely be scared if I hear that & I'm out-positioned.
Clown's chase music is really eerie & I definitely feel like I would be under a lot of pressure hearing that while I'm being chased.
I could keep listing off more, but the list would just keep going and going. I definitely agree with you, BHVR did a really good job in this department!

I do some of the killer rituals and tome challenges but I do not focus on leveling up killer. I just really don't like playing killer. I've always loved playing survivor since I started playing. Don't get me wrong. I don't want killers to feel like they don't have a chance to win but I also don't think my suggestions would break the killer enough to make it so they can't. I have over 1000 hours played as survivor and I feel like from that experience I know the difference between a fair match and an unfair match. The problem I most often run into is I'll have some matches where it felt fair and fun to play where both sides had equal chances of winning. Even when I die or my whole team dies I still have fun in many of those matches. There are other times though where I feel like I am being completely destroyed and I didn't stand a chance. I've had some good Oni matches but most of the time this killer just completely destroys my team. When you're in a situation where 1 or 2 survivors are down and 5 gens are still up you're going to have a lot of down time on objectives and now have to focus on rescues. if the killer tunnels back to those hooks its pretty much over at that point. Generators take long enough to do as it is. Rescue missions against killers that roam hooks are risky and just produce a lot of objective down time. In the higher ranks I've noticed most of the killers I go against use gen pressure builds and hardly give the hooked survivors a chance to be rescued. I just don't know what to do in situations like that. So many matches within the first minute or 2 feel very hopeless especially against Oni.
That's my point, you barely play killer, therefore you've never had the red rank experience against really good survivors. The game is completely miserable for killers at that rank & you wouldn't know how it feels. The queue for survivor is long for a reason. I've always kept my killer rank around purple because red just puts you in a bad mood.
4 gens are done in under 5 minutes no matter how much pressure you make around the map unless you're going against overly-altruistic sabo squads that don't do them. Even with snowballing killers like Oni, the only thing you can do as killer at that point is try & save the game with a 3-gen or be forced to watch the survivors butt-dance at the exit gates.
Not to mention, toolboxes make gen speeds even faster which is absurd considering the game practically ends before it even starts. Flashlights can rob you of your well-deserved downs, and keys can give survivors an escape they didn't deserve. There is so many things in this game that makes it unfun for killers, so before you complain about the survivor experience, how about you stop being biased and discuss that both sides are equally unfun in their own ways.
Just letting you know that this is coming from someone who plays survivor 95% of the time and also has over 1000 hours. I hate that almost EVERY game I play as survivor, the game is over within minutes. I didn't wait that long in queue for such a boring game, even if I win.
-
An animation to open the hatch would be amazing because it actually gives the killer a slight chance to do something about it.
Not to mention, that idea you have about differentiating keys from eachother is brilliant. Well thought of!

I took it as mocking my suggestion. Also I said I sense a hint of bias. To me it felt bias. I try not to be bias in my suggestions but yes I do mainly play survivor and I want that experience to be fun and fair for everyone. I believe in fairness and I personally do not believe the Oni in its current state is a fair killer to play against. I'm only suggesting a change to Oni's power that I feel would make it a more fair matchup. This is a suggestion and feedback forum is it not?
It's definitely a suggestion and feedback forum, but my point is that I bet you never play killer, like ever. I understand you want to make the survivor experience fair & fun but all you ever post is about nerfing killers & their perks. You even said keys are fair despite being distasteful towards moris.
You have to play both sides to see how this game works, and quite frankly I don't think you do that. Even if you did, you probably aren't in the high ranks & it's easy. No wonder you think killer is an OP role.

Its hard to heal against a powered up Oni with nurse's calling when you don't know you're going up against an Oni with nurse's calling. Same can be said for any other aura reading perk they may have which I literally will not know about until I see them use it or play in a way that suggests they're running a certain perk.
Not all Oni's have Nurses Calling. Not all matches are the same. I find it funny that your point is based off of something so situational that it's literally in the single digit percents.

I refer you to their reply where they mocked me for simply suggesting a change to this killer. It was ironic that while mocking me they also have the Oni avatar. I don't think I've ever argued buffing anything pertaining to Kate though despite that I think her perks are the worst in the game. The point though since you missed it was to simply offer a substantive reply or counter suggestion to mine not to just mock me.
I'm not specifically talking about Kate. Your name suggests you obviously play more survivor because you main Kate, therefore you have no place to call him biased especially with all of these posts you're making.
Also, he was making a joke. If you don't like that then the internet isn't for you.

Thought this could differ for each region.

Oni is completely fine. If your team is out of position & doesn't heal then that is not an Oni problem, that is a you problem.
This post is basically saying Billy is OP as well because he can catch you out-positioned despite him being one of the worst killers in the game right now.

Thats funny coming from someone with The Oni as their forum avatar. I sense a hint of bias in your reply there. Me on the other hand is speaking from a fairness point of view. You're being totally extreme to think a change like this is comparable to deleting or gutting him altogether. The Oni is too powerful. He should not retain it after downing a survivor. That is my opinion and my suggestion. If that bothers you, then you can make a counter argument but your last reply seemed more focused on mocking my suggestion rather than offering anything of substantive value. You can try again if you like but I tend to ignore people who reply like this.
You comment on him having an Oni avatar when your name is KateMain86. How is he biased and you aren't?

Don't take it personal, I am brash. Was not being hostile. They can not make a change that big because of your anecdotal experience of tapping a gen here or there due to your accident. It leaves too my exploitation of the design.
DS should only ever be a one time use but I wouldn't mind other anti-tunneling perks coming into the game that are designed well and for that purpose. Just some that promote different types of playstyles.
No worries man.
But yeah, I agree with both of your points. I just thought I'd mention my idea because you never know, someone might see where I'm coming from.

No. It does not need to be used twice. DS takes a lot of time for a killer to re-engage during scenarios where one can down another, hook them, and go get you within a minute. DS is good as ONE time use only. This will likely never change.
If you accidently tap a gen? The ######### lol? You tapped it. It deactivates. Your fault. Doesn't need a three second rule. When have you ever "touched a gen" by accident lol? If you enabled this, people would tap gens to stop regression as an objective. You touch that gen, you've decided you aren't being tunneled.
Now, the devs did not confirm if it is just you healing or being healed. Waiting for word on that.
This third one I agree with mostly EXCEPT the killer COULD SLUG you... down someone and hook them. For this reason, it should probably remain active or speed of the timer
But honestly, DS is finally getting a HUGE adjustment so let's just play it out for a while before reworking it in our heads. The only change I'd like to see removed is end gate use and locker bait, but it is what it is
Hey now, no need to be hostile. I play on console & a lot of actions are binded to the same button, so I've definitely tapped a gen by accident before if I was trying to heal someone nearby, vault, pick up an item, etc.
Also I understand your point on DS only being used once, but I figured since it was being nerfed quite a bit that another use would be fair. But either way, I'm not complaining.

Nea is obviously the entity in disguise & spies on the other survivors to see what they do when put in difficult situations. She'll also occasionally throw the game and work with the killer if the survivors are getting close to survival.
I've also found that she tends to bring flashlights to punish the killers & to show her abrasive dominance over them!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Kate is obviously known as a "songbird", therefore she reminds me of those Disney Movies where they sing in bad situations & everything magically gets better lol

Nah. They only other things DS needs now is:
- The ability to use it twice to make it a true anti-tunneling perk.
- No "accidental" deactivations. If someone decides to try & heal you or if you accidently tap a gen or something, it shouldn't deactivate right away, but only if the person does said action for more than 3 seconds.
- Should also deactivate if the killer downs & hooks somebody after you get unhooked because they clearly weren't tunneling.
-
Keanu Reeves is Jeff & you cannot change my mind.
-
Because it makes the match over before it even began & gives both sides way less bloodpoints.
Hell, if enough people DC then you'll probably de-pip or not pip at all. A lot of killers (including myself most of the time) give mercy escapes when someone DC's because it just makes the other survivors miserable and nobody benefits from the match, so everybody decides to farm instead.
Please don't DC.
