Should give DS multiple uses now though with such a huge nerf. Just my opinion.
Yeah, you should be able to use it twice to make it a true anti-tunneling perk given it can be deactivated doing actions now.
-
If you're across the map chasing somebody DIFFERENT, they would have no reason to jump into a locker. This just tells me that you're deliberately tunneling them, or trying to slug them.
You don't need to do that unless you're in a specific situation at the endgame, and even then, you could just wait it out in front of the locker. Stop complaining.
-
All they need to do is make it to where your DS doesn't get deactivated from "accidental touches".
Whether that means your teammate starts to heal you & you didn't want them to, or you started to heal your teammate and see the killer coming back or something. Have DS be deactivated after doing like 3 seconds of said action instead of right away.
-
Woah, been off DBD forums for most of the day & come back to see that they're doing changes to the 2 perks that needed it the most.
Changes seem pretty good. I do think DS should be able to be used twice though given the circumstances of it being able to be deactivated, just to make it more fair for survivors.
OoO change is okay, not what I would've changed it to but hey, I'm not complaining.
We finally got the changes lads, time to celebrate!

No one wants to play killer because its no fun. Playing killer at red ranks is absolutely miserable with all the turbo nerd swf sweat fest and the general toxicity from survivors who knowingly abuse the fact that they have the power role.
Pretty much, yeah.

Bubba is innocent but his family (specifically Drayton) knows better & is definitely evil. Bubba is genuinely scared of other people therefore he kills out of fear, and usually the people he kills are intruders of his home anyways. As for the cannibal/mask-wearing stuff, it's how he was taught to live ever since he was a little kid so you cannot completely blame him for his ways.
He is basically his family's protector, and he obviously doesn't want to disappoint them, so he does what he feels he needs to do. Just don't poke the bear & Bubba shouldn't see you as a threat lol.
-
The small indie team definitely puts more effort into their character models & I do think BHVR should do the same, but I actually like DBD's version better here. Cheryl on the left looks too pure while Cheryl on the right looks like she's scared sh*tless.
-
If chests were changed to garbage cans, make sure you grab actual garbage out of them.
I personally think it'd be very funny to throw a banana peel on the ground & watch the killer slip over it. Gives me Mario Kart vibes.

That keys aren't toxic, but moris are.\
Like get outta here with that biased crap, moris recently got a change, now we need a key change.

I only care about this game being fun. It only has 1 mode for solo players: ranked and I hate that. It puts all kinds of players into a single mode that has a rank up incentive for some players to play completely different than others. I just want to have fun and I strongly believe this game needs more modes to play. Reverse roles just for fun or simply a non rank mode maybe? Every time you go into a match solo you're taking a risk of who is going to be on your team. I have noticed in my experience that being in red rank or any rank below you still often get people who either just care about doing their ritual/challenge or just want to mess around with the killer. I think the reason why this happens is because there is only 1 solo game mode and nowhere else for players to go that aren't interested in rank.
The power difference between killers and survivors is not fair in my opinion. We can go back and forth and keep saying the opposite on that but I will not change my mind on this until I see the fruit of change happen in the game itself. The mori change was a start but its only a start. Instant down abilities are not fair. If a killer can achieve their objective in downing and hooking a survivor in a matter of seconds when it takes me over a minute to do a generator by myself that does not feel fair to me. The try hard nature of many killers in this game ruins it for me.
I agree that we do need an unranked mode. The matchmaking would be a bit of a nightmare since one gamemode can barely get any players in a decent amount of time but you never know.
Even though we disagree with eachother on some things, I appreciate you being civil with me throughout this whole ordeal. The forums are meant for debating topics & I love that!

Why would stridor be good for an endgame build though? Just makes everyone louder!

Thanks man
I didn't think about forcing a three gen as wraith, its almost second nature when I'm in a tight spot as trapper, I don't know why it didn't occur to me!
Makes sense but I just feel guilty, same reason I refuse to run NOED and ruin undying, so many survivors complain about it bet the majority don't enjoy playing against it (I personally have no issues, besides with the fact NOED rewards playing badly).
And yeah I do try, killer just gets a bit much sometimes
No problem!
NOED is a perk that encourages bad habits from killers, so I'm glad you don't run it. I'll give new killers a pass (because I used to use it too), but experienced killers should know better unless they're doing an endgame build (something like Rancor + NOED + Bloodwarden + etc).
As for Ruin + Undying, you shouldn't feel bad about using it especially when survivors almost always bring Dead Hard & Decisive. Why handicap yourself of good perks when everyone else is running them? I say the same thing to people who don't run exhaustion perks.
-
Spine Chill is fine. It's obviously an annoying perk when you're playing a stealth killer but looking away for a few seconds isn't too hard.
Had 2 P3 Claudettes with SC on Dead Dawg Saloon when I was Pig. Took me very little time to realize they had it, so instead I walked backwards to the gen. Worked like a charm & I probably ended that game 10+ minutes earlier than it would've lasted.
My honest opinion is that there should either be a killer perk or a killer addon for stealth killers to counter SC and go fully undetectable. Some might say the perk is OP, but the killer takes a chance & wastes a perk slot if nobody is running SC in the game anyways. Same with the addon idea.
-
I've answered these types of questions before and the best advice I can give you is:
- Know when to start a 3-gen. If you're playing a weak killer like Wraith and there isn't enough pressure to go around, you need to maintain one area of the map to stay in control. Since you have Pop, this makes this idea 10x better since you can just pick up a chase (don't go too far from your 3-gen), down them, hook them, and then come back with Pop to regress any major progress. Rinse and repeat.
- You don't have to play by the survivor rule book. With this being said, don't be a douche & facecamp/tunnel/slug everybody early in the game, but if the game is coming to a close and you're in a tight spot, it's okay to tunnel & it's okay to slug. These are just strats for slowing the game down, and can definitely be the difference between a lost game and a won game.
Last but not least..
- Don't take the game seriously. Letting the survivors tilt you because they might've BM'd you/outplayed you isn't good because once you're tilted, not only do you not play the game to your full potential, but you also take away any potential fun you could have. Sometimes you have to sweat & sometimes survivors can be annoying, but never let those affect your headspace.
Cheers mate, I hope your games get better!

But if our teammates are garbage and leave us for dead then what? We lose and it isn't our fault, we are stuck with trash teammates while the killer slaughters us because they can't work as a team. As for those perks you mentioned, good job 3 more👏 but why would I waste a perk slot if I can only use it for a very very very short amount of time?
but why would I waste a perk slot if I can only use it for a very very very short amount of time?
Same could be said for BBQ & Chili. Other than bloodpoints, it's the exact same thing, a minor aura show. It just depends on the build you're going for & why.
That's basically saying that If I want to run a chest build but only get to search 3 chests, why would I run it? Well, because I personally like the build & plan to get the most out of it. See what I mean?
But if our teammates are garbage and leave us for dead then what?
Welcome to what killers have to deal with, relying on yourself because you either don't have teammates or have awful ones.
This is a solid point, but unfortunately it isn't what should make the game "killer sided", as well as the killer being bad shouldn't make the game "survivor sided". Obviously there are going to be games that don't go in your favor whether it's because of your teammates, you, or the killer. The main point is, you're not going to get more bad teammates than you do decent/good teammates. This all depends on rank but you're supposed to look at the majority, not the minority.

"If the survivors play their cards right." And that happens how often in solo que? And that also doesn't happen all the time even in SWF. It is not true in the slightest that the survivor and killer power levels are fair. Instant down abilities ruin this game. They just simply ruin it. They are not fair. They are not fun. You say killers always get the nerfs they shouldn't. It sounds to me you're very bias and just want survivors to have a miserable time in this game. Without people playing survivor, there is no DBD. Killers are not nerfed enough. They have WAY too much power. A killer should NOT under any circumstance be able to instant down a survivor especially with the ability to play perks like dyeing light that make it nearly impossible to do generators under pressure. Your example by the way is not a universal example of every match. You forget that a survivor missing a skill check is going to notify the killer exactly where you are. Survivor should not have to rely on perfection to have a chance at escaping.
And that happens how often in solo que?
This happens very often in solo que. Solo que is by no means as good as a SWF, but if you're in high ranks you'll usually get better teammates than not. Sure it isn't 100%, but nothing is ever 100%. You have to look at every match as a whole. If you win 7/10 games, those 3 games don't cancel the fact that you win more than you lose. That's just my 2 cents anyway. If you're in low ranks, I'd understand more of where you're coming from.
They are not fair.
They are definitely fair because of the reason I've said multiple times: counterplay. I can agree with your point that maybe they aren't fun to go against, but fair vs fun is a completely different conversation. There are too many instadown things in this game for BHVR to do a full 180 & remove all of it. Therefore, you have to adapt and learn to play against it. I don't see my mind being changed on this.
It sounds to me you're very bias and just want survivors to have a miserable time in this game.
It's funny you say that, because I haven't played more than 1 killer game in weeks. Killer is absolutely miserable to play & that is why the queue times are getting longer. If you haven't noticed, almost every new post on the forums this week has been about queue times. I'd rather chill & play survivor than play as killer on the edge of my seat the whole game. Shouldn't that be the opposite? Just because I'm voicing my opinion on a discussion on killers doesn't mean I'm biased. You don't see me calling you biased, do you?
Without people playing survivor, there is no DBD
Without people playing killer, there is no DBD. It's the exact same thing for both sides. There are far less killer players than survivor players.
Your example by the way is not a universal example of every match
Humor me with an example then? Not every game goes the same, I'm speaking for the majority.
You forget that a survivor missing a skill check is going to notify the killer exactly where you are.
You forgot that a killer chasing a survivor is going to notify all of the other survivors to stick to gens & rush the game to be over. There is pressure on both sides, not just survivor.
Survivor should not have to rely on perfection to have a chance at escaping
Survivors have eachother to fall back on, 1 mistake on their end is not enough to end a game. Killers however can only rely on themselves, so 1 mistake from them could potentially do just that. You've made some decent points (even if I don't agree with them) in this discussion, but this just isn't one of them.
-
Discovered DBD because I wanted a game like Friday The 13th since the playerbase was dying. Bought it for my friend and I.
Learned how to play DBD by getting my *ss kicked every single match, like literally. Of course YouTube might've played a part as well but it's all experience for me.
-
Gender doesn't matter, instead the perks & cosmetics do.
I personally like to play Dweet & Tapp a lot. Sometimes David.
On the female side, Kate is definitely my main girl. Love her lore & her cosmetics are some of the best in the game imo. Behind her would be Laurie & Feng.
-
but as a survivor I can only use one or two perks that let me see the killer but only for a few seconds
Um..
- Breakdown
- Babysitter
- Alert
- Object of Obsession
- Dark Sense
This is way more than 1 or 2. If you slap one of these perks onto a build actually made for it then they can be just as "OP" as the killers are. That is not killer-sided at all.
Survivors have teammates to "fall back" on if they screw up, while if killers have one single mistake, it can cost them the whole game. How is that killer sided, especially with all of the crutch perks survivors have?
I might've fell for the bait but there are people that will actually agree with this post so I just had to set things straight.
-
What an interesting question to ask on the forums lol.
Anyhow, not all girls are the same so any advice you take from other people here isn't guaranteed to work. Some are easier to "charm" than others. Obviously you both have to start off as friends, because there is a minor chance that you'll fall in love at first sight. I'd recommend:
- Remember her hobbies/interests - This one is a no-brainer. If you take time out of your day to listen to her ramble about all her favorite things & show that you care, she'll melt.
- Be there for her - Does she need to talk to somebody? Be there for her. Does she need someone to stand up for her? Be there for her. Does she need a hug/shoulder to cry on? Be there for her!
- Hang out often - Hanging out often really does increase your chances of you both developing feelings for eachother simply because you're getting to know one another more, and will probably look forward to hanging out with them again once you leave.
The finale point of them all..
- You don't have to be attractive to persuade her. A girl would probably prefer a more "fit" guy rather than a little chub, but a personality goes a much longer way. If you guys genuinely enjoy eachothers company, I could see a relationship blooming soon.
-
While this is a creative idea, all they need to do is reverse that bug fix that was in the game a little bit ago. We don't need a complete rework.
Whenever she would walk past you during phase, you could hear her. This gave survivors time to react & mindgame with her. That's literally all they need to do, add audio cues. It's honestly a shame they patched it because she was balanced for once with that bug.

How is that "bait"? They bring up good points, how about you don't be so insensitive to others before you use harmful phrases like that?
No one should have to play this game and get triggered/reminded of something that might make them feel worse about their own body.
It is definitely bait because whenever somebody says such phrases, they in no way relate it to actual body-shaming. Instead, OP puts all of these thoughts into their head making something out to be what it's not. That isn't our fault.
-
Does he just carry a chainsaw to assert dominance over survivors then? What the hell else are you supposed to use it for?
Bubba's famous survivor chili cannot be made without chainsaw essence, get that through your thick skull!

I do have to agree that noed could use changing, but not a nerf. It's already a pretty damn terrible perk that not only activates once in a game but can easily be disabled/completely avoided by survivors.
I couldn't agree more, but I did have to pick a perk from this list & didn't think any of the other ones needed a nerf.
-
Otz is such a kind-soul who genuinely loves what he does, and I always find it fun to watch his streams because of the advice he gives & the positivity he radiates. Not to mention, he makes really long videos (hours worth) on killers, survivors, perks, maps, etc on his YouTube channel which just shows how passionate he is & how much he cares about his community.
I also like to watch TrU3Ta1ent because while he can be a bit arrogant sometimes, it's just his personality & I love how he'll literally stop in the middle of a match just to explain how a loop/specific mindgame works. Oh yeah, his weekly complications on his YouTube channel are fun to watch too.
Monto is probably the most entertaining compared to Otz and TrU3 though simply because he does a lot of fun builds imo & has great commentary/edits. Gotta slow the game down just a lil' bit, you know?
If I were to list off a streamer that isn't from this poll, I'd say Umbra. She's wholesome & relaxing to watch imo.
-
My first match of DBD was with Meg simply because I thought that once you picked a survivor to use, you couldn't choose the others. Not to mention, I liked Sprint Burst because it always made for safe getaways.
If I could tell my old self who to start off with, I think I would have rather started off with David mainly because of Dead Hard but I'm not opposed to Sprint Burst.
-
I can think of a few off the top of my head for survivor is:
- Deliverance: You should still be able to use it even if everyone else has escaped/died. The killer can just M1/R2 you as soon as you get off anyways.
- Any Means Necessary: You should be able to see dropped pallets to know if you need to reset them or not. Wasting a perk slot on Windows of Opportunity just so you can see this is absurd to me.
- Borrowed Time: This one is a stretch but if you manage to unhook yourself & have Borrowed Time, perhaps it can work on yourself. This would be good when paired with Deliverance.
I can think of a few off the top of my head for killer is:
- Trail of Torment: I don't know about you, but the fact that the generator turns yellow ruins the perk because 95% of the time once the survivors see that, they'll end up hiding for the majority of the time until your Undetectable status wears off. It isn't stealthy at all unless they aren't paying attention.
- Mindbreaker: This perk is so easy to counter, as all you need to do as a survivor is step off your gen a few seconds earlier once you hear a terror radius. Not to mention, this perk literally encourages 99'ing Sprint Bursts.
- Beast of Prey: Can someone tell me why anybody would use this perk?
-
The only perk I think should be nerfed out of this list is NOED because it's a huge second-chance perk that could possibly have some changes done to make the majority of people more at peace with it. With this being said, if NOED never gets touched I'd be fine with that too (because it can be countered), but I had to pick a perk from this list.
Not exactly sure as to how it could be changed but maybe a prompt (similar to Stridor) can pop up on the right of your screen telling you it's in use just to give survivors the heads up. It isn't fun to play your best the entire game without getting hooked just to get slapped in the face with NOED.
-
Her mindgames are usually one-sided guessing games if you're injured. A lot of people say that to counter her, double-backing is the best option but a good Spirit will never fall for that because she's probably seen that trick be used a bunch of times. Even with Iron Will she can sometimes have the upper hand.
Remember that one bug where you could hear her go past you while phasing? That is literally the solution. All they need to do is add subtle audio cues to give survivors a time to react and she'll be balanced. It really isn't hard.

No you sounded like you had no idea what you were talking about, actually.
I still don't see an argument here, just subtle insults.
-
Unless the killer decides to be a douche & chase you and then leave you so you wasted time on your timer, you should never have to end up dying to a RBT, even with these add-ons. This is due to the fact of RNG usually being inconsistent and that if you get to every Jigsaw Box efficiently, you will almost always have enough time.
A simple play-around is to just get the trap off before it activates, and even if you can't I'd say it's definitely rare to still end up dying to one.
-
It's very desperate but unfortunately people can play how they want, even if they feel like they need to ruin other peoples fun.
Just do the gens & get out of there as soon as you can. You cannot save your teammates, even with Borrowed Time. The killer will most likely de-pip as well, if that makes you feel any better.

This is simply not true. Killers absolutely do enter the match with more power than the survivors. They are faster than survivors and have a unique power. It is not fair game at all. The power difference between killers and survivors is beyond ridiculous. The cannibal is an overpowered and unfair killer to play against. No killer should have an instant down ability as their power simply by pressing a button. There is no requirement to having this power. Its just there. It is killers like this (and also toxic players that play killer in a toxic manner) that not only make me want to stop playing the game but also influences my decision on recommending this game to people I know. This game is going to have to go through a lot more changes which involves a major decrease in killer powers (removing instant downs as a start) and a major increase in survivor power.
It is absolutely true if the survivors play their cards right. I've seen and played games where the survivors blow gen after gen & have the exit gates open before the killer even landed a single hit. How do you call that having an upper hand? Not to mention, survivors will always have a teammate to "fall back" on if they screw up, while a killer does not & if they make a single mistake they could potentially lose the whole game without recovery.
Preaching a killer is OP just because you don't like instadown mechanics (Bubba, Devour Hope, addons) is absurd to me and is the reason why killers always get nerfs they shouldn't. I play survivor all the time & would rather go against a chainsaw spamming Bubba than a Spirit. Wanna know why? Because you can actually play around the Bubba, while Spirit is just one big guessing game since there is no indication that she is phasing. Killers like this are the ones that need the nerfs imo

I just had a game of Trapper, and they were cocky survivors, teabagging and trying to flashlight save.
I played it great this time, they were doing the gens extremely fast. So i started setting up for a 3 gen situation. I had to take one of them out of the game, so i picked their weakest teammate and targeted him until dead.
From then on i started trapping around the Storehouse's strongest loops, and they all fell to my traps one after another. It felt great.
Got a 3k btw, i let the last survivor get the door. He kept me waiting for some reason. I alt-tabbed to watch a youtube video and he was still waiting at the exit gates to tbag me i guess.
I'm very happy to hear that the game ended up in your favor (especially as Trapper). Just please remember to play the game how you want & you'll enjoy your matches a whole lot more. Now go kill some survivors for me, will ya?

Sometimes killers have to slug if the game is coming to a close (1 gen remaining) to not lose the game. With this being said, I don't think she should've wasted time slugging everybody granted she knew where the hatch was, but I could see why she thought she needed to do it.
I personally never complain about Unbreakable because it's the killers decision to slug & if they do, then they have to take that risk.
If it's in the game people will use it, survivor or killer.

@Antrapace I play killer in the evening when getting a lobby as a survivor takes too long. Matchmaking is all over the place in both modes but I think you're right that evenings are even worse.
@Kirkylad Sadly the killer to survivor ratio won't improve as a result. Matchmaking feels almost non-existent to me. At the most one survivor is properly matched with the killer.
@MikeyBoi Interesting. I remember when the matchmaking started using the lowest rank survivor in a SWF as base. I have some fond memories of finally not having to wait 20+ minutes in queue as rank 20 killer but being matched with SWF groups with 3 red ranks and one rank 20 survivor. And the red ranks doing everything in their power to protect the "baby survivor" from the big bad killer. Then it got changed to use the highest rank as base. I'd be surprised if it has been reverted.
@Karao_Ke I just came back from a half year break myself and I'll be gone again before long. Meanwhile I've had some fun times on my other killers but mostly on survivor learning to be efficient and to make the best of a match with a random team. I got excited to try learning Plague again but god, it's been rough... The not existent matchmaking is accelerating the process of making DbD more trouble than it's worth again XD
I honestly don't blame you for leaving. The game is a mess right now & obviously we don't want to deal with the result of that.
With this being said, I play Plague sometimes and I recommend doing the Down n Puke. Usually survivors expect you to do nothing but puke on them when you're next to them. Instead, give them a bop on the head and once you down them, then you can puke on them. They never expect it.
-
People can be nasty towards others unfortunately & have no consequence for it. Personally I think you should:
- STOP letting other people dictate how you play. You don't need to play by the survivor rule book. Granted, I hope you don't take this advice and decide to facecamp every game, but if you need to sometimes tunnel someone out to take them out of the game because it's coming to an end, please do so. It could mean the difference between a lost and won game.
- Have different builds for different killers. For a killer like Doc, you need a build that makes you have a large terror radius (try using Distressing and pairing it with something like Unnerving Presence/Coulrophobia). For a killer like Myers, you might want a slugging build since Tier 3 helps with that. See my gist?
- Extras: Make sure you know when to start a 3-gen, when to slug, etc. Once again, these all contribute to whether the game is a win or a loss.
Do not take the game seriously serious. I know it can be frustrating at times but you'll never have fun if you don't allow yourself to. Cheers mate, and I hope your games get better!

@KateMain86 said:
Instant down abilities are a major killjoy in DBD. When I see a killer playing an instant down addon or a cannibal chainsaw spamming I just want to stop playing the game (and often do). Its just not fun to play against at all. Killers come into the match already with way more power than the survivors. To give them an instant down ability just dramatically lessens the chance for fun for the survivors. I do hope they do something about instant downs.
While I think instadown addons are slightly unfair (especially Huntress's), instadown killers are not because there are obvious play-arounds. In Bubba's case, jungle gyms & holding W/L3 is your best friend. Same thing could be applied to PPhead.
I also wanted to mention that killers do not come into a match with more power than the survivors. It is absolutely fair game as nobody has made a move yet. Survivors haven't completed a gen & killers haven't landed a hook. Simple as that.
-
Nobody wants to play killer anymore because of how stressful it is. After the devs nerfed Undying to the ground even though survivors complained about wanting more objectives, a lot of killer players left/took a break from DBD.
The best thing we can hope for at this point is for the devs to either balance the game/slap a bloodpoint bonus onto killer/fix matchmaking & make a new system for it.
I'm sorry you have to deal with this.
-
No latency issues & fair gameplay.
What I mean by fair gameplay is that I don't like to curb-stomp a killer nor do I like to be curb-stomped. Obviously this is based on our skill levels but if I want to feel good at the end of the match (whether I win or die), I have to feel like both the killer and I had an intense match with lots of outplays and mindgames. If the killer has to end up tunneling me to get someone out of the game, that's fine.
From a killer perspective, just don't BM me & don't be afraid to meme around every once n awhile and I could care less if you all escape.

I run Blood Warden specifically for the jerk survivor situation. It doesn't come in handy often but when it does...
Had a foursome v Oni. Jerks gonna jerk as they sit at the gate so I wander away as usual. One of them gets cute though and finds a pallet to slide on repeatedly.
I find enough blood to go into Hulk Smash mode and run back. He times it poorly and Hulk Smash. The other 3 swarm me as I pick him up and get him off the hook ASAP....with about 35 sec or so left in EGC. 35 glorious seconds of me just shaking my head no as the four of them realize they done goofed bad...
Three messages in my inbox later and it was great. Two LOL'ed and thought it was hilarious but #3 was soooooo salty, I think my heart got damaged. It was awesome.

If I'm a survivor and I find out that my team completely mindf*cked a brown - green ranked killer, I feel terrible. It isn't my fault but situations like that is what makes killers either stop playing DBD or never hop on killer again. You'd think the experience would be already infuriating with players of their skill level, but red ranks? Awful.
If I'm a killer that hasn't played in awhile & got a rank reset, I'll definitely feel irritated but at the same time relieved that my *ss got kicked by people who are higher ranks than me rather than my own rank. I used to be a red rank killer when I played killer a ton, and it is exhausting to keep up with red rank survivors so now I just hop on whenever & tend not to care too much about my rank.

I play solo 80% of the time since my friends don't play DBD as much as I do. It's usually just 1 friend & if it's any more than that we just stick to customs so we can have reckless fun.
