  • Might take all of your brain power to understand this, but killers not being a large majority is a bad thing. Survivors need people to play killer in order to find matches, so the less Killers there are the less lobbies there are which further increases queue times.

  • I agree that on console 3-4 SWF is a lot more common than PC. Just last night I kept getting annoyed because I'm trying to play the Oni who is terrible on console and I'm only rank 10 currently. But every team I went against was a rank 2 SWF group. Even had one group where there were 3 rank 2s and a rank 16. I just think the issue is that the devs don't see console as a higher priority compared to PC. They probably see that 3-4 man SWF isn't as common on PC and decide not to do anything because the majority of their playerbase is on PC.

It was great she also had iron will, had only been hooked once, and I had prove thyself. The gen was at 50%. In the time it took her to teabag and bodyblock me at the gen it could have been finished.

They're almost as bad as the people who run across the entire map for you to heal them, after you've unhooked them using we'll make it. Just to end up running closer to the killer.

  • @Apple2o said:

Probably the most annoying thing in this game is survivors who refuse to work on gens while injured, and proceed to throw the game if you don't also throw the game by healing them.

I had an injured rank 3 meg earlier who, at 1 gen and 3 survivors left, was just hiding 3-4 feet from the gen I was working on, while the obsession was clearly being chased instead. The killer was a tiered up Oni who was constantly hitting his 1 shot downs on my team, and was using pop goes the weasel.

Since I refused to heal her, trying to finish the last generator and actually escape, she teabags and runs off into the basement to loot chests instead. I had to go work on an entirely separate generator while the 3rd survivor desperately ran the killer.

The game would have ended up in a 4k for the Oni had I not been running deliverance to be able to take aggro, go down, and rescue myself from the hook right next to the exit gate. I was incredibly happy to leave the meg behind to die.

Yeah it's annoying when survivors try to make healing a priority over gens whether they're the ones that are injured or the ones trying to heal. There will be times where I'll be injured and run into a teammate working on a gen and I'll notice that it's about 80% done so I'll work on it but they'll get off the gen to try and heal me but I'll just keep working on the gen.

  • Honestly, it's not better than before. Haste AND vault speed increase? That would make chasing survivors impossible. They would get a speed boost from the haste while in chases making it so killers would have to rely on blood lust just to get kills since that would boost the running speed to about 110% which would mean all killers would need a speed buff to counter it. And again, increasing vault speed just isn't a good idea in general.

In tuck and roll, the fog surrounds the survivor for a short amount of time, making them pretty much blend in with their surroundings.

The second perk is pretty much whispers for survivors. That's what it's mainly intended to be.

And yeah, I agree with the third one. They'd never add it in. But I did think of something to balance it out. After vaulting once, the window is immediately blocked for the survivor, and the perk will be available again in 1 minute.

If anything you could just use the fog offering to make it harder for the killer to see you. It would be better to waste an offering than a perk slot.

Survivors having their own whispers would be a little broken. That would essentially make all killers a Huntress with her humming. Plus there's already perks like spine chill and premonition .

  • 1) Why have a perk that makes you duck if you can simply just crouch?

2). . . You do realize your 2nd perk is literally just the killers Terror radius right?

    3) perk that increases vault speed would never happen, That would make chases ridiculously unfair. There's a reason they've fixed the conditions needed in order to get a fast vault.

  • Honestly the devs should just make it so you don't have to equip challenges and can just do them all at once like pretty much every other game with a battle pass does. Or at least make it so you can do all of the challenges of the tome you're currently on and just make it so there are slightly more challenges.

  • Awful. This matchmaking system has been complete dog #########, and then the devs decide to have the stupid idea of implementing the new rank reset system while matchmaking is broken. As rank 10 killer I'm getting nothing but rank 2 SWF. But as rank 9 survivor I'm facing rank 16 killers with rank 14 teammates.

The devs also somehow manage to create more bugs than they fix, so having to deal with those haven't been fun.

Careful, a lot of temporary solutions in this game end up being the permanent fix. :P

Sadly that's true. Low effort solutions always seem to be the permanent solutions.

His arms covers a large part of screen making you realy tunnell vision. His weapon held above head doesn't bother me as much as huge arms.

Dunno if increased fov will fix this alone, but remaking animation only for Killer perspectve will do. Many games uses different animation for 1st and 3rd perspective for same ability.

An animation remake would work a lot better but knowing the devs it'll take them about 6 months to remake the animation. An FOV increase won't fix it, but it'll be a good temporary solution. There's No excuse for them to be unable to simply increase the FOV scale. If we ask for an animation rework they'll either ignore it completely or make it a low priority.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/939915#Comment_939915

Yeah, I could get behind that.

Or y'know, just making it so he's not blocking a large chunk of the screen in the first place.

That's why I want an FOV increase. He takes up an unnecessary amount of space on the screen. Increasing the FOV might not be as perfect as simply making him not take up so much space, but it's a great alternative. FOV for killers in general is terrible, but this is one killer that could really use an FOV increase.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You mean something like when he's in fury mode, he gains a small passive FOV bonus?

Sure, that's fine. I would just like to actually see my surroundings, not just two giant arms covering everything in sight. It's impossible to hit something I can't see.

  • I think that's more an issue with the challenges/achievements. When a killer DCs you get the BP and it says survived (I believe) so the game itself counts it, or at least the match does, but the achievements and challenges don't.

They increased his turning on console significantly. You would know if you played him before the patch.

Maybe they did, but according to the patch notes they then nerfed it. So maybe at one point they did buff it so it was a lot better than pre patch, but as of the latest patch it was reduced.

  • And he still can't. If he couldn't rich I originally and they reduced his turning, that's not a buff at all.

    @Waffleyumboy said:

They buffed him on console bud. Try practicing him.

The patch notes themselves say they reduced his flick

  • Really? Didn't know that. But for the most part a DC does count as an escape.

  • @Pizzaman said:

Killer DCs should also count as Escapes for the Survivor Challenges

. . . You know it does, right? That's the reason you get an extra 5k BP if the killer DCs. They count it as an escape, unless you've already died.

  • @MrsMaliciousX said:

Ehh...Me DC'ing is depending on the killer (how they play) my team (if they are potatoes) and If i get hit through numerous walls (seems to happen A LOT anymore)

That literally doesn't even explain why DC's shouldn't count towards hooks/sacrifice. All you did was explain your excuse for getting upset and DCing.

  • Right, because those few points help out a lot. If an entire team DC's that's barely enough points to buy items on the bloodweb.

  • There's literally a telltale when Freddy is teleporting. And unless he has an add on being in the dream world isn't a big deal since you can break yourself out in a second with the clocks.

  • Yeah I don't understand How they made such a stupid mistake. Did they not realize that this isn't preventing good players from bullying low rank players, its keeping terrible players in higher ranks.

  • I pretty much just want to level up my killers. I also just kinda play out of boredom. This game just isn't as fun to me as it used to be due to the overwhelming amount of bugs and gameplay issues.

  • @supersonic853 said:

Kinda annoying how i can stare right at him and all of a sudden "exposed" and im just like... "okay bs" and of course i get one hit downed thanks to a faulty feature.

That's probably because he stalked you for a while without you knowing so when you notice him and try to break him out he only has to stalk you for a split second before you become exposed. It's one of the reasons why so many survivors think he "instantly exposing" them.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

DC penalty can only be put in place when bugs and glitches that force people to DC are eliminated. Why do you think it was delayed?

Even more - they need to make it okay to DC if someone else has already DC'd. As killer, I hate 3v1's (I'm not a sweaty green rank scrub killer who wants to go super sweat saiyan on 3 people), and I hate that situation as survivor.

If one person DC's, the reason should be able to leave without penalty and keep whatever points they have up until that point.

"I'm not a sweaty green rank scrub killer" that sentence alone makes it sound like you don't even play killer. Just because the killer plays the match as intended after someone DC's doesn't make them sweaty. If they slug everyone, sure. But continuing the game as intended doesn't make them sweaty.

  • @Aura_babyy said:

    Or...

Matchamaking is just a hard problem to tackle and the devs are doing their best for it?

Try learning some computer languages meant for programming and you'll see a small portion of what they have to work with. Start with C++ maybe?

I would be more understanding of this if it wasn't for the fact that the devs tend to do more harm than good. With every 1 thing they do well there are 3 things they mess up in the process.

This is working as intended. Everyone's within 6 ranks.

The reason for the most part is because there's a severe lack of killers, especially in higher ranks. Because playing killer feels horrible, especially on console, and killers have been getting nerfs week after week as of late, discouraging even more people to play killer.

Then with the SWF changes where parties take the highest rank, 1 red rank with their yellow/beige rank friends basically all count as red ranks for the sake of matchmaking. Therefore, this saturates red rank queues even more.

Within 6 ranks atm sure, but what about when I was rank 12 facing red ranks? If it's within the 6 ranks I shouldn't have been facing red ranks at that time. I also feel like 6 ranks is too much, it should be within 4. Maybe then I can actually get killer and survivors at my rank when I plays survivor and not ranks 15+

NA (North America) vs. EU (Europe)?

Let me start by saying I play rank 1 survivor and killer on PS4, have over 1k hours in DBD, and play in the southeast USA. I consider myself in the higher, but not tip top, tier of rank 1 players on PS4. Having said that...

Why are my red rank teammates complete potatoes?? I swear, 90% of the time I get into a match, I get teammates that can't survive a chase for longer than 20 seconds, throw the god pallet on the first chase of the game, fail every Ruin skillcheck and blow the gen, unhook in the terror radius without Borrowed Time, loop around a hooked teammate, crouch on the corners of the map and self care, urban evade the whole trial, and essentially refuse to complete gens.

Is this just a PS4 problem, or do NA players on PC come across the same issues?

Currently a rank 10 killer (PS4) since I haven't played much these past few months but I'm constantly placed against purple/red ranks and i can confirm ive gotten a good amount of potato red rank survivors. Unhooking in front of me, wasting pallets, etc. .

Asking for a developer update during the holiday season seems a bit insensitive. Developers should be able to enjoy the holidays in peace, just like everyone else.

Pretty sure Dec 9-21 aren't all holiday days, some of them sure but not all. So there's no excuse for the devs to not still be working, that's plenty of time to just address to the community what they're doing. It's not like the OP is asking them to push bug fixes or new content. The devs could just easily type a post and put it on the front page of the forum.

  • I took a break from the game for a while and when I came back I was rank 15 killer and survivor. As rank 15 survivor I got teammates at my level, as rank 15 killer I was getting rank 10 survivors. Currently rank 11 on both (haven't been playing much) as survivor I get rank 15 teammates and rank 16 killers. As killer I get rank 6 sweaty SWF. Optimization for killers on console is dog ######### and this matchmaking system is making an already unenjoyable experience even worse.

no it’s not dedicated server problem the same exact problem is on xbox one i’m a rank 6 survivor and get rank 13 killers that face camp and tunnel and when i play killer i get rank 3s and 4s that are total tryhards

Yeah, I doubt it's dedicated servers since I'm on PS4.

  • Most likely this week or next week. Chapters are always released on a Tuesday.

  • I can barely even PIP anymore because I'm getting paired up with morons. As soon as I unhook one, another goes down. As soon as I unhook that one another goes down. One of my teammates got hooked and I started getting chased so naturally I brought the killer to the other side of the map. Neither of them went for the save so I had to lose the killer and rescue him myself. How hard is it to pair me up with survivors at my rank and not a group of rank 15+? I would like at least semi-competent teammates.

  • The survivors: 3 toolboxes and BNP, a key, 4 adrenalines, prove thyself, 4 hook offerings, 4 BT, 2 DS.

Killer: Prayer beads and an ebony mori (which was never used)

All of the butthurt spirit haters: "yOu UsEd PrAyEr BeAdS aNd A mOrI"

Lmao shows that people really just enjoy complaining about spirit no matter what. It also feels like many of you didn't even care about the background of the story, you guys were just eager to rush in and comment the typical "Spirit Bad" stuff.

  • Well, have fun with the new matchmaking punishment for DCs. Makes it easier for us to get more helpful teammates.

  • Yes. I have sensitivity at 100 and it still feels so slow compared to what I see PC players do. It's part of the reason why 360ing is easy on console. Killers can't always turn fast enough to hit the survivors.

Frame rate issue have been constant for the past year or so. I'll be in the bloodweb and my frames drop down to like 5. It's worse with specific killers like Doctor or Hag. Even more worse when you're playing as those killers and in a chase.

  • Can I ask What's so bad about the archives? You just kinda complained about it but didn't explain why it's bad.

  • Personally I'm fine with Shred the way it is, I try not to rely on it too much. What they should do is make it so there isn't such a loud audio cue notifying the survivors when he's teleporting. Keep the light from the portal that way survivors near it can know he's teleporting, but don't make it so obvious.

Anything involving the Demogorgon interacting with the portals should be sped up a bit. Portals should automatically link with each other after placing them down rather than having to teleport through them and waste time just to activate them. Also slightly increase the detection range for them.

I also agree that the add ons need a rework. Increasing undetectable time is useless because the base undetectable time is incredibly short, and the add ons practically make no difference.

He doesnt leave. He stares at me and waits the timer out

Are you by any chance the last survivor alive? Because even at low ranks I've never come across a killer who will stare at me and wait for the timer to go out. They usually walk away potentially patrol, but there's usually an opportunity for me to be healed.

  • Or they can just ignore sexuality altogether and just leave it alone. There's no need for sexuality in a game about killing people and trying to escape a killer. If fans want to ship them or do whatever they want, that's perfectly fine. But there's no need to try to force representation into every game. The only reason companies basically shove it into games now are because if they don't there will be those who are obnoxious about it and will try everything in their power to ruin the game. Or because the company knows it'll get them Brownie points with the LGBT community, or to avoid any potential controversy even though there's a good chance most of those people who wouldve complained about it wouldn't have played the game in the first place. That's pretty much how it's been for the past few years.

  • Only issue is that Demogorgon is Licensed so it would be hard to get this cosmetic. But it shouldn't be an issue for original DBD characters.

I'd kill for a suit cosmetic for Nea and anything that isn't sporty would be welcome for Meg.

What we really need tho is Dapper Trapper.

Dapper trapper is definitely a must have

Now I'm imagining a whole collection of suit and tie outfits for everyone.

It could be called Date Night or something like that. Nea and Meg would totally wear a suit and tie. Dwight looking nervous but proper in a tux. Hillbilly in a tux lol.

That would actually be nice. Hopefully they do something like this.

On the second clip, that was just a bad lunge. The wall was within view, and you just turned to the left too early for the lunge to hit around the wall.

If you read my description you would know that I didn't turn left, that was the auto lock. Even in the video when you look I lunged straight and the camera jolted to the left. Besides, the wall was out of view. Otherwise the wall would've been right there when I missed my attack rather than me hitting the air.

  • It should be base kit so killers aren't wasting a slot on a perk that will be gone as soon as the match starts. Keep it as a totem, but just make it base kit.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I got to rank 5 with Hag i didn’t see this but I agree the auto lock is annoying

Apparently I'm just extremely unlucky. I have to deal with this every single match I play as her, but apparently no one else does. At least i showed the videos as proof that it isn't just simply me missing my attacks.
