  • Since forever. Totems spawn in obvious areas that are impossible for survivors to miss, which makes them impossible to defend.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Corrupt Purge is more powerful than blood fury in my opinion.

Only when hit validation works properly.

  • I would still like to see a Big Daddy from Bioshock.

  • Playing killer is already miserable enough, but it's been worse lately due to the fact that anytime I start a chase or a survivor unhooks their teammate, it causes my game to freeze for a second or two. And those few seconds can make a big difference in a chase.

  • They aren't abusing it, they're simply using it. It's annoying to go against, but that's just how it is. The only issue is the stupid hit validation that tells us we hit the survivor but they're still running away.

  • Part of me wants to say yes just because they've said in the past they balance the game around having fun for survivors while trying to make the game challenging for killers. But realistically, the decisions they make are due to the fact that the survivor playerbase is higher than the killer playerbase, so by making decisions that favor survivors, it causes players to return and creates new players, both of which will potentially end up buying the overpriced cosmetics. That's all it comes down to. Greed.

  • The game is like this now because of the Devs. They continuously try to make survivor fun to play while trying to make killer a challenge (their own words), and because of that they make playing Killer a stressful experience. Until the devs get their ######### together and balance the maps, fix hit validation, balance perks and balance killers to actually make the game fair, the game is going to continue to be like this. The devs just need to stop balancing the game around new/lower skilled players.

  • @KingFrost said:

I think the system is fair. Why shouldn't campers face harder opponents? Clearly they aren't being challenged where they are. Same goes for people who bring all the strongest items into every game.

The only real downside is that you get a real mixed bag around middle MMR between the people who escape when they shouldn't (like the Claudette hiding in the bushes) and the gigachad who will pull off an insane play to save a teammate from a face camping bubba at his own peril and succeed.

"and the gigachad who will pull off an insane play to save a teammate from a face camping bubba at his own peril and succeed."

That's part of the main problem. When a survivor dies, their MMR lowers causing them to verse lower skilled killers. So while it punishes face campers at high ranks by facing them against high skilled survivors, it also punishes low skilled killers just for playing. Also, SWF messes with the MMR. It doesn't base off of the highest MMR player in the team, but tries to balance it out, meaning the high skilled player will be going against a lower skilled killer.

See I agree. And I know people want to take my killer card from me for this opinion. But killer is easier than solo q. I get to rank 1 killer long before I do survivor.

So I understand, some games you get your ass handed to you, but damn, you win much more than you lose.

Not always the case as a solo q gamer.

Rank means absolutely nothing though. As killer it's going to be easier to rank up simply because you get more points for doing objectives due to the fact that you're a one man team. You're doing all of the objectives so you're going to get all of the points. As someone who has switched to almost solely playing survivor because of how unfun and unfair playing killer can be, my Solo queue matches have been far easier than my killer matches. And I'm a higher rank on survivor (Silver 3) thank Killer (Bronze 4), both of which I started from ash rank.

The recoil on his blades is too strong to make him use of his power outside of a close range. I've been trying to finish his Long Bomb Tome challenge for hours and despite doing very well in my matches with him the recoil makes it too difficult land hits at mid range. It's much more frustrating vs not being able to perform flick hits with Oni or Blight.

If only BHVR actually cared about its console player base for stuff other than cosmetics.

  • The data that BHVR provides is flawed though. All it does is tell us the kill rate, it doesn't tell us how those kills happened. Were they 1,2 or 3 hooks? Were they overly altruistic players that focused more on trying to go for unhooks and not work on the gens? How many were AFK kills? What's the percentage of those kills that are from survivors killing themselves on first hook? What's the percentage of kills that are from survivors unsafely unhooking directly in front of the killer causing that survivor to get killed? What's the kill percentage in high MMR vs low MMR? BHVR has a history of throwing out flawed data to back their reasoning for them not making certain changes. None of their data should be taken at face value.

  • People who cheat are pathetic. I just assume they must have some pretty miserable lives to decide to ruin the fun in any game by using cheats.

Then first step should be map fix. Most maps are terrible for one side or another or both.

Nah, first step should be to remove breakable doors. I honestly don't know what the devs were thinking with those, it was such a brainless decision.

  • Dead hard, no argument. Decisive only works for 1 minute after someone has been tunneled after being unhooked, can only be used once, and deactivates upon healing, unhooking, and working on gens. For dead hard a survivor simply has to be injured and can then use it to avoid a hit and gain distance, potentially making a chase last a lot longer than it should. Also, with the new dead hard it feels like you're getting robbed of hits more than ever since they scream, indicating that you definitely hit them, but the game decided to take that hit away from you.

  • It's because the devs are incompetent, they barely even play their own game. Their priority is making money, which is why more effort goes into making cosmetics than more bug fixes, balance changes or quality of life changes. The only way this game would ever become somewhat balanced is if either the entire dev team was replaced, or if a different company took over the game, but that's never gonna happen.

  • I've started maining plague somewhat because of this. She makes healing perks and medkits completely useless. So now, if they do bring boon totems only Shadow Step will be useful. Circle of Healing will only be useful if a survivor is downed in the aura radius.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

More window vaults, less breakable walls, less pallets. I would be happy :3

Add more windows, reduce the pallets, remove breakable walls entirely.

  • Simplest solution I can think of is to make it automatically snuff out whenever the survivor who activated it gets hooked.

  • Sounds like a you problem. The killer isn't required to play how you want them to just because someone DC'd and you brought BP offerings.

  • @smappdooda said:

Plague has had issues for MONTHS with that. As does doc where a shock will pass right thru someone. I get robbed of window hits CONSTANTLY but when I am survivor I get hit after fully vaulting through but can't hit someone still mid animation. I stand by my belief that the servers favor bad ping over good ping.

Yeah, as survivor I can vault and take about 3 steps away from the window and still get hit but somehow vomiting at a window before a survivor even hops through it still doesn't hit them.

My bad, the colour isn't very clear from your photos then.

Yeah, I figured. That's why I tried to place them in chronological order. Guess that didn't help out much lol.

Which is another good point. You appear to have climbed from Silver IV to Gold I, at least. That's 7 Grades, which would suggest you have 'won' at least 14 games (double pips) or up to 28 (single pips). In only 4 hours... that means you've won more than you've lost.

So either you should have a high MMR and face those higher 'rank' players because you are that good. Or you have a higher MMR because you have been winning a lot of games in a short space of time.

14-28 wins in four hours is no mean feat my friend. I'm sure none of these screenshots are from before SBMM was activated though...

I also didn't climb from Silver to gold. That's bronze. I started in bronze 2 and am in Silver 4.

  • @Seraphor said:

Why are you cutting off the match results? (kills/escapes)

By the looks of the scores, these were very close games.

You are obviously far more skilled than your 'rank' would suggest, which is the entire point of MMR, rank does not equal skill and therefore rank-based matchmaking was flawed. So I'd say it appears to be working as intended.

My bad, I wasnt trying to intentionally cut off the results. From what I remember, in the top photo I had 1 kill, 2nd photo I had 2, and 3rd I had none. And yeah, while the scores seem high, keep in mind the offerings I brought.

Also, I wasnt trying to say that I'm terrible at the game, just that Im using killers Im terrible with. In the last 12 matches Ive played I probably have a total of like 15 kills.

  • @Sypherpathic said:

Hmmm, weird. I've seen some Youtube videos of people succeeding with kills as this killer.

Are you sure you're not just assuming things should work a certain way and, instead of being clever and finding a way to win, you're just assuming if you can't play as you always have and get a win, the killer is broken?

    Hmmmmm.

Did you even read the post or just decide to make a comment that doesn't even apply just because you read the title. At no point did I even complain about not being able to get kills, if you can actually read then you can understand that my entire complaint is basically that his chains are easily broken.

  • @VikingWilson said:

SBMM needs time and matches to level out. Patience. Hopefully, it actually works as intended.

I've played about 4 or 5 matches now, and 3 of them were against red rank SWF. And in most of my games I've only managed to get 1 kill, so logically my MMR should be going down because I'm clearly losing my matches, but it seems no matter how good or poorly I play it's putting me against high rank players.

  • @konchok said:

The MMR initially overestimates your rank if it's data is sparce. That's a change they made in the last test. A few games where you lose and you'll be brought down to a more manageable level.

Ahh, that makes sense I guess. I was confused because I went from a hag match with 2 bronze 2 gold survivors, to a pyramid head match with 4 iri survivors. Not sure if MMR was turned on between that time.

  • I feel like this is a good post to ask this question since it's somewhat active and about the DLC. Does anyone else have an issue with the Deathslingers lunge where he either slows down a lot at the beginning of the lunge as if he got stuck on something, or some times just flat out stops in place for a sec?

A year and a half. And no, it was at first latency, but changes to the game, movement, and servers have remade the issue. And yes, there are far more gamebreaking bugs then grabs. Stop crying and either wait for them to fix it, or get over it. It happens.

You expect me to believe that even though it was never an issue before Spirit came out, suddenly it was an issue with latency and not a bug with the game. But then after dedicated servers were released and the issue clearly never went away THEN it was suddenly an issue with the game. Right. . .

  • @Booper_Of_Snoot said:

Peanits said it is on the list of things they are going to be working on. Currently I am sure there is much greater issues to fix then grabs.

A survivor escaping a grab is equivalent to a survivor getting a free escape, and that's a pretty big issue. Not to mention it's been an issue ever since Spirit was released. And that was what, 2 years ago? Almost 3? They've had plenty of time to fix it and have willingly brushed it off as latency.

  • @BattleCast said:

You likely didn't deserve the grab if you didn't get it because on the survivors side they were already running away.

What they should fix though is windows. You could be 3m away from the window after vaulting and still get hit.

No, I deserved the grab. The survivor ran in and out of a locker in front of me twice, and both times that I went for the grab it started the animation and suddenly switched to a hit.

Also, how are you gonna say I didn't deserve the hit because the survivor most likely was already running away on their screen, but then complain about killers getting hits after you've vaulted? That's hypocritical. There's no difference in the situations, one got am escape they shouldn't have and they other got a hit they shouldn't have.

  • @Boludosattendant said:

nice? lvl 1 escape bruh, looks like a baby killer!

I know you're joking, but I actually ended up giving them the hatch. It was my first game in about 3 or 4 months and they were the only one that played well. Then I realized they were rank 1. Somehow didn't notice the key the entire time.

  • After rewatching the clip I realized that the hit regristration wasn't the issue. The game just flat out locked on to the hooked survivors even though I was looking either directly at the Jane or towards the edge of her hitbox so this garbage auto aim wouldn't drag my camera towards the hooked survivor. But that doesn't work apparently.

  • I feel like the answers can vary depending on whether you view this as a fight using the Kilerrs in-game abilities, or view this as an animated fight or movie scene fight.

  • I can't tell if OP is trolling or they're really just this dense. Every argument they've made has been some single digit IQ argument that has been disproven.

  • DCing is just an issue in general. If things aren't going the survivors way or they simply don't like it, DC. But it's definitely more common against doc. I took a break from the game for about a month or 2 and came back for a bit to try the new Doc. On my first match back I got 3 DCs. I was rank 14 they were all rank 8. Then as I reached rank 12 i started going against rank 3s, even then they were DCing a lot.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

95% of my games from rank 9 to (currently) rank 3 were against yellow/green rank killers. I had 1 purple and 1 red throughout that entire time.

Eagerly awaiting that upcoming blog post.

I'm rank 13 on survivor currently and all of the killers I go against are rank 16-18. I almost never get a killer that's below my rank.

  • 20200127_012404.jpg

Literally the next match after I made this post. They're 8 ranks above me and I'm being paired against them.

  • I don't blame killers for running NOED so much since the gens do go by insanely quick now. But I've been using PGTW more now since it helps regress the gens more. Although the downside is you need to get a hook first, so if the survivors are rushing gens together it'll make it hard to pop the gen unless you can push them away from it in time.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You hit them and that is rude >:(

You're right. I should track them down and apologize.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Maybe they could tell you were running a strong add on?

Maybe, but it was just 1 add on. And all it does is chain a static charge if one person was hit by it. I downed them all before the static charge had a chance to shock someone else.

  • Maybe I'll come back in like 4 months but I'm honestly just tired of these devs. They incapable of properly balancing this game, incapable of coding a decent matchmaking system, incapable of fixing bugs without creating 3 more etc. . .

I'm just tired of them putting more effort into nerfing killers and making things easier for survivors just because survivors are their main source of income since they're the ones that buy the cosmetics more, rather than actually fixing the game.

Children mad that someone took their favorite toy away. People really need to just relax and adapt to these changes. It's just a game after all...

Purposely playing like this to protest changes isn't going to change anything. They won't revert decisions because some man child is having a hissy fit.  you're pretty much just ruining the fun for everyone involved in the game. Very childish.

"Just relax and adapt to these changes" definitely a survivor player. They're constantly nerfing killers so all killer players do is adapt to the changes. Killers shouldn't have to be adapting with every update while survivors literally don't have to do anything different for the last few updates. Having changes like these wouldn't be an issue if the devs were actually competent and balanced the game well enough so playing killer isn't insanely stressful.

Yeah but still getting Mori (even green one) just so you can apply sufficient pressure seems like quite a broken concept.

Hatch and keys are also a pretty broken concept. Imagine being able to win even though you did absolutely nothing the entire match simply because you found an escape door.

  • How am I supposed to enjoy a game that's in such a ######### state? Every 1 bug the Devs fix they create 3 more. Then they want to consistently nerf one side of players while the game is still buggy af. And while all of these things issues are still happening, they're consistently throwing out awful overpriced cosmetics. But you know. . . Enjoy the game.

Killer hypocritic mentality in a nutshell...

"I'm special, I want to win more and have more fun than the other side, survivors are not worthy and are second-class players, they should just die, so I can have fun and if not, I will go rage to the forum".

People play games for fun, no one cares what role you play, be it killer or survivor, no one will sacrifice his time on this game, so you could have fun, just because you are the killer.

You just want to be spoon fed, life doesn't work like that, get used to it.

Survivor hypocritic mentality in a nutshell. . .

Talks about people playing the game for "fun" but the gets mad that people are complaining about killer not being fun.

Then you complain saying killers want to be spoon fed while survivors a literally being spoon fed.

Are you being serious? If there's more killers then they will be waiting longer. There's always 4x the amount of survivors in game than killers. You need more survivors or the game would be worse

If you're gonna troll at least make it a logical troll. Survivors don't create lobbies, killers do. So if there are less Killers there are less lobbies for survivors to join causing the queue times to increase.

I had planned on playing DbD all day since it's my day off. When I heard this I decided to take ruin out of all my builds and give it a try. 4 games in a row 3 gens were done in less than 2.5 minutes. I was playing a Freddy, Ghost Face, & Spirit. Even with discordance and tinkerer you just can't keep enough pressure in the early game when all of the pallets are up to keep people off of gens and also down survivors. 4 matches and I'm done for the day. I planned on all day.

I take breaks from this game because the devs always end up creating 5 issues for the 1 they solve. I'll come back 3 months later thinking "I'm sure they've improved the game by now" less than a week later I'm taking another break from the game.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 8
