Oni FOV

Can you guys increase the FOV on the Oni? His power is worse on console because its a lot harder to turn with him than it is on PC, you rarely come across him on console because it's a hassle to use his power. And the fact that you have two huge arms and his weapon covering 60% of the screen when using demon strike makes it stupidly hard to see anyrhing that's in front of him.

You mean something like when he's in fury mode, he gains a small passive FOV bonus?

Sure, that's fine. I would just like to actually see my surroundings, not just two giant arms covering everything in sight. It's impossible to hit something I can't see.

Yeah, I could get behind that.

Or y'know, just making it so he's not blocking a large chunk of the screen in the first place.

That's why I want an FOV increase. He takes up an unnecessary amount of space on the screen. Increasing the FOV might not be as perfect as simply making him not take up so much space, but it's a great alternative. FOV for killers in general is terrible, but this is one killer that could really use an FOV increase.

  • His arms covers a large part of screen making you realy tunnel vision. His weapon held above head doesn't bother me as much as huge arms.

Dunno if increased fov will fix this alone, but remaking animation only for Killer perspectve will do. Many games uses different animation for 1st and 3rd perspective for same ability.

An animation remake would work a lot better but knowing the devs it'll take them about 6 months to remake the animation. An FOV increase won't fix it, but it'll be a good temporary solution. There's No excuse for them to be unable to simply increase the FOV scale. If we ask for an animation rework they'll either ignore it completely or make it a low priority.

Careful, a lot of temporary solutions in this game end up being the permanent fix. :P

Sadly that's true. Low effort solutions always seem to be the permanent solutions.

    This game does as well.

Which... looks really odd sometimes when you look down at your own shadow when playing as the killer. Although some are pretty faithful to how they actually look for the Survivor, like Huntress.

Myers' shadow in particular looks incredibly goofy, especially when he's actually walking.

Oh yes, the discrepancy between animations and shadow is very common in games but I meant the actual abilities. For example, you don't lift your chainsaw overhead as Leatherface, but survivors sees that. Another great example is Genji from Overwatch, his Deflect is very visible for others as quick swipes followed by green effect but from first person perspective its presented as calm stance. That kind of stuff.

Oni's first person animation is also VERY different.

Its pretty easy to notice in this video. The first person view shows Oni holding his sword outwards while the 3rd person view shows him resting the sword on his shoulder.
