Don'tget me wrong I hate NOED too and get extremely annoyed when I die because of NOED. But once I calm down I realize it's not as bad as I think it is at that moment because all you have to do is find the totem. Plus it's usually only players that aren't great at applying pressure that use it. They know the gens will go by quick so it's basically a punishment to those who genrush hella hard.
Also, it's definitely not NOED that's killing the game. I can write an entire book on the list of poor game mechanics and game breaking bugs that are killing it. I've personally taken multiple breaks that were 1+ months simply because of bad game mechanics or bugs that the devs don't know how to balance or fix, or take too long to do so. Not once have I ever gone "I'm fine with this game, NOED ruined it." I could just as easily blame some survivor perks, or even SWF.
-
Ruin and BBQ are must haves, I would reccomend nurses so you can phase to anyone you see healing, and then use whatever you feel would make a good 4th perk. (Would reccomend a tracking or pressure perk.) Personally I run Make Your Choice as my 4th, but PGTW would be good on her as well.
-
You should know the rules by now. If the survivors aren't having fun and can't win easily then you're just a trash killer and need to get good.
But in all seriousness survivors, especially SWFs will quit for almost any reason. Hell, sometimes they'll quit for no reason and still try to blame the Killer. I once had a full team DC after i downed 1 person as Doc, and we were playing on backwater swamp. I had terrible perks and yellow add ons, no increased shock range, and they all DC'd almost instantly.

Just to clarify how I believe this "autoaim" works is that one of three things happens:
1: you go to attack the survivor first you swing, while swinging the actual hitbox of the kilers weapon is used (I believe that all killers have the same or similar weapon hitbox), then the game scans the survivors hitbox and if it is close enough or touching the hitbox the survivor gets wounded or dying.
2: (The same conditions as one) However when your about to swing this time what more then likely happens is the failure of proper hit registration which can cause your attack to lock on to the survivor but still "miss" even when your right next to them.
3: (Same conditions as one) However this occurs when your about to hit a survivor and the vault or cling to walls/pallets, you go to hit and hit registration locks your attack onto the survivor who's running into the wall (Sometimes) causing you to hit the wall.
In all those three scenarios it's the games latency which affects it. But more likely then not if your hitting walls and pallets in a good/low latency game it's the result of human error which could happen to a number of factors. Also, just want to add there is not much tracking for lunges. (This means little to no autoaim) So if your having problems with landing basic M1's try to do short lunges.
Tl:DR. Lag and human error is to blame for missed attacks a MAJORITY of the time, there will always be exceptions to any rule.
. . . You realized all of your points pretty much blamed game mechanics, and then latency. So you pretty much countered your own argument of "just adapt to auto lock" by pretty much explaining how the game causes attacks to miss.
Also, if you read my initial post carefully you can clearly see that I said attacks were missing when I was practically sniffing the survivors necks. Meaning I was directly behind them and a simple short attack either misses or forces my camera to turn on its own. It doesn't really matter if there's high or low tracking when going for a lunge, it shouldn't be there at all. Its easily noticeable when you're trying to turn your character one direction and then it's suddenly forced to turn the complete opposite direction.
-
@Objectively_speaking said:
Or you guys could adapt to the autoaim, just saying.
There is no adapting to it. The game literally forces your camera to turn or prematurely end an attack. How do you adapt to something you have absolutely no control over?
-
@citron said:
I don't think I have ever experienced this outside of pre-buff freddy where you would target a survivor who was not sleeping over one who was..
is this a console only thing?
Probably. The game is a lot worse on console.

@HatCreature said:
I've noticed that a lot with Hag when she teleports, it always seems wonky when she tries to hit and looks like it should be hitting but it just misses, it is very odd and inconsistent.
Yeah I've noticed that too. It sometimes makes it feel as though her lunge is shortened when teleporting.
-
@HatCreature said:
They did recently change the auto-aim, I think it was in the Ghostface release. It is ridiculous, it helps some people but hurts a lot of others, it's very strange. It never works when I need it to but it always work when I don't and screws me over.
For me personally I have the biggest issue with it when I'm playing hag and doc. I don't know why but its mainly those two. I just think Doc's hit detection is garbage and feel like they've just never bothered to fix it. With the hag the auto lock feels inconsistent. Sometimes there's practically no auto lock, other times she does a full 180 while attacking.
-
All they need to do is slightly buff the killers, then they can nerf NOED into the ground. For example, make it so doc doesn't slow down when in treatment mode. A small buff, but not a game breaking one. Stuff like that. Then the killers will all feel like they're at a place where NOED won't feel necessary to some players.

Seriously he should just cover his screen with some image to avoid stream sniping and turn the volume down or play some music. Other streamers figured that out a long time ago. Stream sniping is not and should not be bannable.
The whole reason people snipe is so they can harass or grief the streamer. Both of which are against ToS. So yes, stream sniping should be bannable.
-
@SirPiggy said:
This is so stupid, please think for a moment, there is no reason why we should punish snipers, they want to kill the streamer, good for them, who cares if they use toxic stuff just for them? Guess what... its apart of the game. There's so many ways this is a bad idea, first off, how can you tell they're sniping? Unless they make it obvious they're sniping, they're maybe just playing the game how they like to play, secondly, how can you punish the snipers? "Oh, you were watching my stream so you chose op stuff, you deserve a ban!" Really? If the streamer really doesn't want to be sniped, then maybe hide your screen and sound so people can't hear your character and name?? Maybe change your name every game, and still, the streamer will still get matched up with the same skill category, so people can still snipe no matter what people do. Its inevitable.
"There is no reason we should punish snipers" and my post is the stupid one? Right. . . Stream sniping is both harassment and griefing. Both of which are against ToS and bannable.
"They want to kill the streamer" it's harder to stream snipe as killer simply because of queues. So unless they're stream sniping to sandbag the streamer while they're playing survivor, that doesn't make much sense, But It makes the situation still bad.
How can you tell if they're sniping? It's pretty easy because all of the stream snipers are cock A-holes who love to admit to stream sniping simply because they hate the streamer or think they'll gain some sort of clout by stream sniping. And it isn't just "oh you're watching my stream and chose OP stuff." You're stupid if you really think that's what it is. It isn't, it's them watching the stream and then using it to find the killer and harass and grief them. That's the purpose of stream sniping, to be a toxic douche. No one stream sniped so they can prove to be a challenge to the streamer.
Why should the streamer have to ruin their entire stream simply because one or two guys decide they want to grief when the devs could have just easily banned them for breaking ToS.
Streamer will get matched up with same skill category? Yeah, that's what they want. They want to be placed against people around their own rank/skill without having to worry about snipers. That isn't a problem. But if sniping is inevitable that's all the more reason to start banning snipers. Get rid of the weeds.
-
@Rivyn said:
Dev already said 'if it happens outside the game, we can't do anything about it.'
Except it's not just an outside thing. Them watching the stream is an outside thing. Them joining the lobby just so they can grief and harass the streamer is an in game thing.
-
@Kerbert said:
Well it's not really possible to stream snipe someone because you don't choose who you get matched with. And for survivors they have no way of knowing if the killer is a streamer or not.
Clearly you don't know how stream sniping works. All a player has to do is watch the stream, wait for the streamer to queue up as killer and when they do the survivor queues up as a survivor. And you know how easy it is to tell if you're in their lobby or not? Your character and username will be on the stream. Boom, that easy. Also, some people have programs that make it so they can get matched with/against specific people.
-
@Kerbert said:

. . .do you not know how stream sniping works? You literally watch their stream and wait for them to queue up. And when they do, you queue up as well. When you join a match you'll know if you're in their lobby simply because you'll see your character on the stream when everyone has to ready up. It's literally that easy, saying that it isn't possible shows that you don't fully understand how it works. Some people even make programs to get the game to match them up with specific people.

Or just don't play the game. The less amount of whiny survivors, the better.

i'll admit, i didnt see you were a survivor, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't SWF even if you were not in it.
You still don't seem to understand what the issue is. I don't know why you're having such a complicated time understanding it still.
SWF or not isn't the issue, the issue is the fact that I, a rank 11 was paired with rank 19s/20 while going against a rank 13. Rank 19s/20 shouldn't be paired with player 8-9 ranks higher than them, or paired against killer 6-7 ranks higher than them. The matchmaking system is all screwed up. That is what this whole post is about.

Dude. . . Did you even read the post or are you just entirely clueless?
1) I talk about being chased around by the killer for 5 minutes and say "the killer is around my rank"
2) The only player name I didn't cross out is literally my username on this forum which should've made it obvious I was the rank 11.
3) If it were a 4 man SWF that would mean those were friends of mine I was playing with, and if that was the case I wouldn't be complaining about matchmaking.
-
Why not disable Badham while they're at it? Hate that map.
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:
their SWF probably. No other reason it would do this. I have gotten rank 15 in my purple rank games because of SWF.
It would only make sense if at least one of them were close to my rank but none of them were. If one of them were rank 13 and the rest were 19 I could possibly understand, but they were all practically new players.
-
That only works if that survivor is the obsession. It isn't always a guarantee that they'll be the obsession since perks like DS and MoM can make survivors the obsession as well.
I just tunnel them if they use OoO, they can't really complain either since they're using a perk that is meant to give the killer and survivor each other's location. If you run OoO expect to get tunneled. No one's fault but the survivors.

. . . What are you even talking about? No one's complaining about not being able to move or do anything while stunned, the thread is about the red flash that happens when a killer is stunned. Did you decide that you just wanted to hop on a thread and complain for the sake of complaining?
-
It takes a while to stalk survivors even with add ons unless you're leaning. Even then leaning isn't always viable simply because survivors can just hide behind a wall and loop you forcing you to stalk while standing in the open. It takes like 1 second to be broken out of stalk. You can literally crouch behind something and still detect him. I don't understand how people are struggling to detect him, it's just 1 second of keeping the center of your camera on him. You'll break him out quicker than he exposes you.
-
Anyone complaining about this is whining for the sake of whining. You're supposed to run straight for what was it, 1-2 seconds to get a fast vault. You guys are complaining about an exploit that allowed you to fast vault at an angle when you shouldn't have been able to. No nerf there at all, simply a bug fix.
-
Lol people are actually crying because players refuse to farm? I'm not playing DBD to farm, I'm playing to survive or kill. If I wanted to farm I'd play some other game.

@Jplanas98 It seems like this dc bug became an issue right around when the Plague patch was released.
It's happened to me once or twice before the plague was released, but now that I think about it it has happened a lot more frequently ever since the plague was released.
-
Its happened to me countless times over the past year or so. I'll be mid chase about to attack a survivor and then suddenly the survivor is running into a wall. I down them, go to pick them up but the game won't let me and then suddenly I'm disconnected.

Since when are there pallets in the basement?
By basement I was referring to the schools basement. That's why I talked about chasing survivors through the school.
-
Pretty sure he should be "detected" if pallet stunned
It would make sense for it to detect him, but based on a technicality you didn't "spot" him you simply stunned him. Not saying it shouldn't be changed (which it probably will) but you still have the duration of his stun to detect him and break him out of it.
-
This thread is a perfect example of how survivor mains love to complain when it actually takes skill and effort into winning games rather than getting easy wins. Spirit is probably the most balanced killer in the game, she doesn't overpower survivors but she's also not dominated by them. A good survivor can outplay her if they know what they're doing, and she can outplayed survivors if they know what they're doing.
-
People always say that consone players are bad at nurse, and sometimes huntress.
Console player here, I can answer that question.
1) FPS issues, when the FPS drops while teleporting it makes it hard to see the survivors and land the attacks on them sometimes.
2) We're limited on how fast we can turn our cameras. I have my sensitivity set to 100 and it still feels like my camera is moving slowly. So seeing how nurse requires that quick turn to land her hits, it makes it harder to play her on console.

the house with the garage is called the "house of pain" and it's present on 2 of the worst killer maps in the game (badham and haddonfield). i honestly do not understand how those loops still exist in 2019
Badham is just a hellhole with the ridiculous amount of safe pallets on that map. Most have 2-3 max, badham has like 8.
-
@HorsePower said:
Pallets have been constantly reduced in the past 3 years. The removal of double pallets removed TONS of them. The only reason they still exist is because the map didn't reach it's minimum pallet count.
There is already a cap for how many pallets can spawn on each map. All maps have a minimum and maximum amount of pallets (the minimum amount of pallets on The Game is 15 for example).
I recommend using Enduring and Spirit Fury if you're having trouble with pallet spawns. It's one of the most powerful perk combos in the game.
Killers already have the upper advantage in the game. They've had it since the pallet vacuum removal (maybe earlier).
Killers definitely don't have the advantage. There are a ridiculous amount of safe pallets in certain maps, badham is one of them. The houses have safe pallets, the school has safe pallets, and then the usual killer shack (which isn't an issue, but it's still technically a safe pallet). It's worse when there are 2 safe pallets in the basement of the preschool. There's no mind game to them and the survivors get a ridiculous amount of space from you because you can't go around it, you're basically forced to break it.

Why nerf one of the only viable killers there is in DBD?
Because survivor mains whine whenever they can't farm for BP, can't get an easy win, can't bully the Killer, and have to put in actual effort to win. And since the majority of their player base are survivor mains the devs will do anything to keep them from leaving, which is why they're afraid to make strong killers and killer perks, and constantly give survivors strong meta perks.
-
Definitely Spirit, she's fun to play as and against. If you take the time to learn to play her properly she rewards skill, and when you play against a good Spirit player it puts your skill as a survivor to the test. She's basically a skill tester for both sides.
-
It's always funny being able to spot the obvious survivor mains simply by them whining about stuff that isn't OP. BBQ can be countered by distortion, closets, hiding behind gens, being within 40 m, and simply running one way for those 4 seconds and then running a completely different direction. But of course, "bBq Op". And then they complain about the 3 strong killers because it means they actually have to put in effort in order to win, and that's not fun for them.

There's only two good survivor Obsession perks (MoM and DS) and two good Killer Obsession perks (Remember Me and STBFL). Being the obsession could be bad with Remember Me or good with STBFL.
They are just gravitating toward it being a potential core factor in the game rather than something innately good or bad for survivors...
Object of Obsession is a great perk if you're playing SWF. You can see the killers location and inform your teammates. Only downside is they can see you too but you'll know they're coming at you since you can see them so you can start running early.
-
Before the update survivors were pretty much guaranteed a free escape from hatch standoffs, now that they don't get the free escape they whine about it even though the can do 0 generators and the hatch will still appear. Plenty of survivors already camp hatch and let their teammates die just so they can get hatch even though they've done nothing the entire match.
I swear it's like once some slight balance is implemented into the game survivors lose their mind and whine about how "killers complain too much" and that "the game has become unfun". You clearly haven't played killer if that's the case. The game has always favored survivors, but God forbid if the devs throw a bone to the killer players here and there.
-
It's funny seeing the amount of people whine about how this makes the game unfun for survivors, as if playing killer is fun. Yes, I totally have fun constantly playing against SWF with some of the most broken builds. I totally have fun not being able to heard certain sounds anymore because the devs decided to mess it up. I totally have fun with the game clearly being sided towards survivors. But killers tunneling a player? *Gasp* how dare they, that's totally unfun.
-
The gens go way too fast, sometimes even playing with ruin isn't enough.
Let's be honest, the devs don't care about balancing, they're incompetent when it comes to balance. If the survivors aren't having fun, everything else needs a nerf since the majority of their player base play survivor. If the survivors are having fun then the the devs couldn't care less. Their understanding of balance is like a newborn baby's understanding of astrophysics.
-
She doesnt need a nerf. They already recuded her movement speed while holding the purge and made it impossible to hit a survivor with it while turning corners.

You cant counter MoM, i also hate that perk but because of that i was forced to adapt my gamestyle, if i am playing an M2 killer like billy or bubba i will use their chainsawas to down survivors.
If you cant rely on footsteps to find survivors use tracking perks like stridor or blood hound to make it easier to find them, you could also just play legion, i mean, the rework hasnt been put into play yet
Temple of purgation imbalanced? really? of all the maps, like lerys or the cornfields, you chose the red forest rework? temple of purgation gives you enough room to apply map pressure and isnt so full of jungle gyms like the maps above, you really cant say its a bad map, you just cant adapt to it properly
If Iuse stridor or bloodhound then I'm left with only 1 free perk afterwards since ruin is a necessity to get at least a slight edge early on. They also only really work when a survivor is injured, I can find an injured survivor easily even without those perks so injured survivors aren't an issue. And playing legion still isn't really fun, I only use him if I have a daily for him, that's it.
And yes, temple is imbalanced. The size of the map is absurd, walking from one gen to another wastes a lot of time. It's only easy to put pressure on one side of the map. If you focus on that one side and let's them do the gens on the other then yeah it's easy to put pressure especially in endgame for killers like Freddy. Other than that only nurse, spirit and Billy can easily put pressure on that map whenever, it's a terrible map it needs a size reduction. Lerys I personally never have an issue with that map, I seem to win with no matter who I play as. As for the cornfield maps, back to my point of the devs being incompetent with the balancing. They're only just now covering the boards on jungle gyms, they're never gonna do anything more than that.

And I suppose we shouldn’t mention all the ebony moris being used? There is absolutely no way every game you play is a 4-man SWF doing this.
Don't know if you know this but an ebony mori isn't a perk. It's an offering limited to however many you have and only works if you hook a survivor and down them when they're unhooked.
And sure, I could believe they weren't all 4 man SWF and it could be coincidental if it wasn't for the simple fact that as soon as I down 1 person, even early in the game, the other 3 are already right there trying to body block.

Killer main? You are going to suffer a lot in this game if you simply dont want to git gud, not every game has to be a wallk int the park you know, you must apply enough map pressure, learn to counter some perks, track survivors, you know, that kind of stuff
Tell me exactly what the counter to MoM is, do i just not hit them and allow them to escape? You're stupid for thinking that just because I have complaints it means that I refuse to "got gut". Audio has been bugged making it hard to hear footsteps so i have to hope the survivors left scratches to find them or else I'm screwed. Some maps are too imbalanced to properly apply pressure, like the temple of purgationbecause it's absurdly large. You had no proper counter argument, only "git gud"
-
MoM alone shows the incompetence of the devs. After so long they finally balanced DS because it gave survivors a free escape, and right after that they introduce MoM.

The devs are incompetent. Their sole purpose now seems to be to just nerf killers into the ground since the majority of their player base plays only survivor because it's an easy win.
