My advice would be to try stealth.

Deathslinger is very hard to outplay once he found you but he has zero map presence. You best bet to wast his time is to stealth around him and not let him get to you.

Also you can consider crouching sometimes. This can break line of sight and throw him off. Do not try the usual looping tactics as thos are quickly shut down by him. Especialy windows become a death trap when you vault them. Dead Hard is a pretty good perk against him because you can dodge through his spear and Sprint Burst can save you as well.

Additionaly you can keep track of his power. When he misses a shot he has to reload. You can notice when he reloads and play differently as long as his power is down.

I once managed to avoid his shot by going into a locker but I would not recomment that.

    I'll give stealth/immersion a try. Good advice, I appreciate it 😁

Honostly....Just that. Rely on surroundings and break LOS as much as possible

Fair enough. I guess I have bad luck of being found near dead zones haha. I'm also getting into higher ranks for the first time, so this may be something I just need to get accustomed to.

Than why direct it to the Myers instead of to the dumb survivors? 😉

Because it's easier to speak with killers lol 😅 The post was meant to be sarcastic, but you are right. I suppose the main culprit that makes Infinite T3 Myers good is potato survivors. At least before taking the killers skill into account. Last Infinite T3 Myers I played against was a PC player, prestige 3, had over 3k hours. He wasn't messing about 😂

Yep. As rank goes up, so does the number of people that think they deserve to win, because everyone else is bad, and thus rage-quitting increases. Same ol' story in every single game that has a ranked system.

Boggles my mind that so many people think they deserve to win. Does it suck to get tunneled or bm'd? Yes, yes it does. Is that a reason to dc immediately after you get downed for the first or second time? No, no it isn't. More people need to play the game for fun.

  • @pseudechis said:

I often found the giant sore loser, take the game to serious, super competitive no fun crowd came out en masse around the mid purples and tended to persist heavily up until about rank 3. Rank 2-1 was a mixed bag.

Stay in the greens, its where I sit these days, this game shines there. I get sad when I double pip.

Sounds legit. I'll try and depip in way that doesn't affect my teammates too much. Really not enjoying purple rank. Can't win many games as the killers are either sweating real hard, which is fair, or my teammates dc too quick for anybody to make a dent in the gens.

  • Who said it's me. Maybe it's my potato teammates 🥔.

You can snipe your friends, yes, it doesn't really take a lot of effort into pulling it off, just some time. It's either he was sniping to farm with his friends or you just got verrrrry unlucky. If you have crossplay turned off, it's either to snipe people through those means, so I would suggest turning it on if you want to try and get a lobby with a smaller chance of getting snipers.

I believe it have cross-play turned on. I'll give it a look see though. Thanks for the advice 👍🏻

I would have to disagree. I've met plenty of nice people and had some good discussions in the post game chat. I've even ended up befriending some of the people I've met. :) If you want to remove post game chat, then you have the option to close it yourself.

I play on PS4, I don't have post game chat. I'm saying this because I see so much toxicity in streams and in YouTube videos. It doesn't affect gameplay, you won't be missing out on the core experience if you can't talk after the match. Having the option to close it doesn't mean it isn't there. Some of the stuff this toxic community says it despicable. Get rid of the option and shut down a lot of the children who like to be edgy in post game.

  • @gammatsunami said:

Why dont you just click continue. We should all have a feature removed because you cant handle it?

I don't need to handle it, I'm on PS4 lol, I just see so so so so many kids acting like little pricks in post game. There's no need to HAVE it in the game, it doesn't actually affect gameplay, so remove the option to act like a racist or prick and nobody gets the chance to be rude. Someone else said just add a GG button and that'll be a positive way to compliment a good match.

  • @VikingWilson said:

Not sure if terrible trolling or gross entitlement....

Neither? It isn't a feature that the game requires to be fun and it allows people the opportunity to be terrible. At the very least, add an option to get rid of it for some people. There's literally no reason it needs to be in the game.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

    No, they don't.

Close it if it bothers you so much. There's no need to remove a feature most people use sensibly because you can't handle what the occasional asswipe says in it.

I play on PS4 dude, I privated my messages because people were telling me to kill myself and that gets tiring after a while. I'm saying in a large majority of streamers and YouTubers videos I see people acting like children in post game chat. It doesn't benefit anybody and it isn't a feature that is required for the game to play and be fun. Sorry you can't handle my opinion.

Having a tentacle doesn't make him feel like Nemesis. He could have easily been swapped out for many other RE monsters. I would have preferred Lisa Trevor because they went with the tentacle route. Did I want a tentacle attack? Yes. The thing that he completely lacks that would make him feel like Nemesis is his speed. He's way too slow. He needs a running ability. Wouldn't be hard to balance. They should even sacrifice zombies to put it in.

He doesn't NEED a running ability, you want him to have one in your ideal Nemesis scenario. That might have made him too strong or hard to balance. He can hit over pallets, break them faster, has 2 AI (the zombies definitely need some tweaking, especially with their pathing). I feel like they mucked a few things up, but nowhere near as bad as some people say. Again, just my opinion.

I'm speaking as a huge RE fan. Who plays the games all day. Who knows a bunch of small little things some might not know. The map simply is not the only reason. Nemesis doesn't feel like Nemesis is one of the biggest.

I'm a massive fan of the series as well. Been playing them since the first Resident Evil and own almost every game on every console. Even snagged one of those RE4 GameCube Chainsaw controllers. I honestly think the chapter is fine. Does Nemesis feel a bit lackluster? Yeah, because if he was the way he was in RE3, he would be way too strong, WAY too strong. I think they should've given him a more noticable, robust evolution, not just one arm growing orange bubbles on it. However, I personally still think Nemesis feels solid. A few tweaks and he will be in a great spot. The OP basically said a whole lot of nothing and that he doesn't like the map being disabled.

  • @Ferrari334 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/258761/why-i-think-the-re-chapter-is-bad-as-a-huge-re-fan

Yeah he is quite neutered in both effectiveness and intimidation compared to him in the RE games. This chapter really was a missed opportunity IMO.

They could have atleast given him disposable weapons throughout the map to pick up, a sprint/charge/roar, anything...

I really am just not playing DBD much anymore and didn't buy this or the previous chapter because of how uninspired it's all felt. That and he really is a D tier killer in comparison to the others, only truly better than legion/trickster. It's kinda lame how all the streamers/devs straight up exaggerate his strength based solely on the fact they are DBD pros and all you really need to beat 90% of survivors is 115% movement speed, which he has.

I don't think they are gonna change up anything or make unique killer powers anymore either, kind of unfortunate because this game has a lot of potential.

You're definitely entitled to your opinion, but without playing the chapter, how do you even know if Nemesis is bad? Giving him weapons would be stupid hard to balance. The tentacle makes sense. He uses the tentacles in both the original and remake. It is a classic finishing move when he impales your face 😅 I wish the Mori was better, but this chapter so far is pretty alright imo. I am also a massive fan of the series, I have every game on almost every platform. I even got the RE4 chainsaw controller for GameCube. Being a massive fan of the series doesn't mean you know what's best though, just like I don't know what would be best for this chapter. It may even cloud your judgement and make you too critical of what BHVR produce. Do I think the survivor skins are good? Not really, RE4 Leon is default head with a jacket, Jill looks pretty so-so, I do like the Chris outfit though 👍🏻

Don't think I've ever had a Killer bad mouth Survivor's after getting a 4k and if I have it's such a rare occurrence that I don't even think it warrants discussion. It's always the Survivor's that start something. Like insulting the Killer because of how they played or a perk they used.

OP, if you're trying to suggest that Killer's are not allowed to defend themselves when Survivor's insult them because they're salty then that's the kind of one sided, close minded thinking and toxicity I'm talking about. Because I've seen plenty of that and even do it myself when I'm Killer.

Not sure what you're insinuating since I didn't say killers couldn't "defend" themselves. I said killers who play well, get a 4k and still BM is a bad look. Same as survivors who steam roll a killer and bag the killer in the exit gates. It's all bad. I see a lot of killers doing it, so I made a post about it. Maybe your experiences differ.

Regarding you saying this doesn't warrant discussion, luckily, you don't get to dictate what is discussed here or what is worthwhile to discuss as these forums are FULL of topics I don't think warrant discussion, but what do I do? I choose to not interact with them...since I don't think they warrant a discussion or a response. I don't go to them and tell the OP that what they are discussing isn't worth conversation because of my own biases or feelings. That's just my take on it though I suppose.

Either way, have a good day.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/258313/killers-who-bm-after-getting-a-4k

Because survivors do it very often. Teabag at gates. if everyone escapes survivors often call you trash and then if you get a 4k survivors call you scummy or suggest you have mental problems. If all survivors were more considerate killers probably wouldn't get so titled and take it out on people that probably don't deserve it.

I mean, some survivors are rude just because in the same way that some killers are rude just because. Some killers BM because they just came from a game where the survivors did it and ruined the killers mood, and vice versa for survivors. I don't think it's just because survivors do it to killers. I honestly just think some people suck and shouldn't be afforded the opportunity to interact with others online if they can't do it in an even remotely respectful way.

Pretty much the vibe of this thread. People are hating on tinkerer latley because there's a few folks using tinkerer now. But solo que life is a bigger issue. No perk being nerfed will make your team mates play better

One piece of advice, that admittedly might not be the best, is if you're solo queue, try to play like you might imagine a solo person might act in this situation. You're in a realm with a bunch of people you don't know trying to survive against the entity, so looking after your own skin, as obvious as it might sound, is probably one of the best ways you can reduce stress on your solo experience. A lot of randoms I play with tend to be very altruism-hungry, so as long as I try to do my best to clear out middle gens to widen the gen spread, try to stealth when I can, and try to loop well when I'm forced, the games usually go pretty smoothly.

The majority of the time I find myself getting stressed is when I let myself start caring about what my team mates are doing. Ultimately I can just leave everybody if I'm fairly confident that they aren't very smart, and just look for hatch instead. When I start caring and thinking "oh maybe I should try to be a good person," is when things usually go downhill and I end up getting killed in 1 hook when I should have just kept my survival in mind.

Yea, long story short: try to save your own skin a little bit more. That usually helps me feel less stressed during solo runs.

I definitely am a bit more altruistic than I should be in Solo Q. I've saved people and they've turned around and let me get 1 hooked, even when it would've been safe to rescue. I'm going to play a little bit more selfish for a bit haha.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

Yeah, I feel you. Everytime I go against a Blight I expect him to have Tinkerer because I don't remember the last time I've went against one without it.

With that being said, I've been running Spine Chill & Repressed Alliance lately to try and combat that. I know you don't want to always rely on perks but I've found this combo works pretty well.

I'll give that perk combo a shot and see how I do ☺️ I appreciate the advice!

  • @Huff said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/258255/i-truly-hate-going-against-mobile-killers-with-tinkerer

Not that I think you have no valid complaints in this post, because you do, but ultimately I think what you said about it being solo-queue is probably the real killer here.

I think theoretically, even against mobile killers, if you can get a high value gen (usually a middle gen or something) done and split up a 3 gen, and then start splitting up on gens from there, there's only so much that even a high mobility killer can do to stop all the gens. There's a lot of factors that are going to play into it, like how good you are at looping, how good your team mates are at looping, whether your team mates are actually on gens or just sitting around stealthing, etc. Some games it's definitely going to feel like there's nothing you personally can do, and that's the sad reality of this kind of game. But I don't think tinkerer on mobile killers is busted to the point of being uncounterable, just pretty strong. Not to say that's what you claim either.

I wouldn't doubt it. Solo Q can be an absolute nightmare. Usually is haha. Just adds to the frustrations of everything else 😅

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

I’m really tired of this perk.

The only reason it was originally implemented was because it was clear how strong Bubba’s power works for hook camping, so let’s give him a more attractive incentive to leave it.

The whole “but BBQ prevents hook camping” is moot at best. The very idea that we would see more hook camping without BBQ is laughable. A killer is either going to camp, or they won’t. Let the idiots hurt their rank and BP gains. It’s irritating how little skill investment killers need to put into hunting/tracking because of a popular perk like BBQ.

It’s lazy. And it can be very frustrating as a survivor, very often, even when attempting to do the right things against BBQ.

Buddy....step into a locker for 4 seconds and it's countered. Be near the killer when they are hooking and it's countered. Run that perk that hides your aura a certain number of times. You're the lazy one for not wanting to take time to counter the perk YOU deem as bad/lazy.

  • I don't have photos as I play on PS4 and didn't take screenshots, but I got a message from a survivor after a game saying that I was racist for killing Claudette first (she was baby survivor and constantly ran into me because they had no map awareness) and they were going to get their friends to try and mass report me?

Nothing ever came of it...but...racist? For doing my job as killer and...killing? Man people love to stretch their bulls**t when they know they're wrong.

how do you imagine the ban of people purposely looking out for pride charm survivors to kill them exclusively? oh no, he happened to kill pride charm survivors for 5 games in a row, certainly a hate crime.

Just saying, if you're going out of your way to tunnel and kill someone because they have the pride charm on, you're a hateful person deserving of a ban :D

  • Yes :3 I like seeing survivors who are playful in lightly dissing me but also saying gg or that they had fun, even if they didn't escape.

If you have a bad game, please try your best to avoid being salty, just exit the endgame screen and que up for another game!

  • DBD has a fairly large and healthy community of individuals who fall under the LGBTQ+. This charm is only a problem to the people who are close minded and hateful. Although it sucks that some people might actively seek out and target the individuals using this charm, ultimately, those people will get banned and the community will be better for it.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I think (2) is fine to start but I think whenever a Survivor is killed a Zombie version of them should be added increasing the total number.

This. I know it'll never happen...but holy crap it would be awesome to see a shirtless zombie David shambling slowly towards the thirsty players that have dreams of shirtless David. They'd have to make the difficult decision to either run away...or let themselves be taken by the person they thirst for.

  • Being camped sucks, especially on first hook...but do people actually report killers for doing it?!

Killers with low map pressure can have literally 0% chance to win against coordinated teams on larger maps unless they resort to tactics such as camping, 3 genning and tunnelling. They simply cannot get around the map fast enough to stop the gens being completed.

A killer who is defending his 3 gen is most likely actively going out his way to avoid camping or tunnelling by adopting a much less frowned upon strategy. Fair play to them I say.

I agree with that for the most part, however, these doctors started the game at a 3 gen and didn't leave it. They didn't know our skill level as they never gave chase for long.

  • @Tsulan said:

3 genning is always on the survivors side. If you don´t see that the killer is guarding a certain area, than thats on your team.

Killer can´t force you to do gens on the other side of the map.

See, this is where solo Q is my biggest issue. That's why made sure to point out that I'd probably have an easier time with this if I was in a SWF.

  • @Jasix said:

It's called control. As a Doctor main I generally safeguard the 4 gens closest to one another. I force the survivors away from those gens through madness and hooking. I use this strategy almost exclusively on Doctor - because that's what he is good at. He is not the fastest killer and doesn't have any increased map mobility like Spirit, Blight, Billy, Hag, etc.. he is only an m1 killer. The Doctor's "trick" is control.

I started playing Doctor the day he was released and have mained him since then. Do my Doctor matches take longer than when I play Huntress, Plague, or Hag - absolutely. I also almost always get way more bloodpoints from each match I play Doctor - as do the survivors. I don't get 4ks at 4-5 gens, but I get plenty of 4ks at 0-2 gens :)

Fair enough :) I appreciate your experience and perspective on this type of scenario! Thank you :D

Oh I never said I NEED it to survive. I'm saying the increasing number of toxic killers makes the perk a staple in the game.

Both sides have been getting more and more toxic over the years. You hate to see it.

Me hooking a survivor -> me breaking a nearby pallet or wall and/or using PGTW on a nearby gen -> me getting my ass elsewhere -> me going back to the hook because:

    2. Survivor get rescued while still being in my TR/as I get away.

What do you think I'm gonna do if I don't have a mobility killer?

Absolutely, I'm not laying any blame on killer. If I was playing killer, I'd do the same. I just wish survivors would think before going for a risky unhook (depending on the circumstances of course)

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

If you're about to hit second stage and the only option is an unsafe unhook then, I'm sorry, but worst case scenario is you have longer in the game by a couple seconds. Or you could have ds or unbreakable. Or the killer could go for me instead.

If you've just been hooked I agree it's stupid. If you're about to go into 2nd stage or die and it's the only choice, no offence, I'm farming you and hoping my 1for1 works.

(obviously against multihit killers like Bubba, Pyramid Head, or Corrupt Plague this doesn't count)

Absolutely, there are definitely circumstances where you might as well try to unhook even if the killer is nearby. I should've been more detailed in my initial post. I was on first hook, not even a quarter way down the hook meter. There was no reason I could think of that the survivors should've unhooked me if they're in chase or they hear the TR near the hook.

  • I don't know if I agree that it should be usable off both hooks. Does it still give you the option to not press anything during the skill check to save it for another time?

  • You going fishing?

  • Bet the op says noed is one of them.

You know people experience things differently than you, right? If you actually DO all of that stuff and still find time, that's great. That doesn't mean everyone can operate on the same level as you and it doesn't mean there isn't room for BHVR to improve on the grind.

  • You might also be having the unfortunate luck of getting survivors who intentionally depipped just so they could steamroll lower rank killers (not a shot at you). When I came back to the game, I had reverted to rank 20 killer, my first 3 or 4 games were easy as ever, but I started running into purple and red rank teams while I was in brown/yellow ranks which I thought was super messed up.

Some others have suggested you watch some YouTube tutorials (OhTofu, Otzdarva, etc) to learn trapper better, I'd say take that advice. Also, don't listen to people saying trapper is a bad killer. I played trapper in green and purple ranks and regularly got 3k and 4k games.

It's like that massive earth shaking "roar" that was recorded at the bottom of the ocean, we don't know why it happened, we just know it did, an anomaly with no explanation.

I see you're someone who gives up on first hook because you can't see a game through. Good to know.

A match just started on Blood Lodge. I barely walked five steps before Bubba finds me first. I use a couple pallets in chase, including shack with basement there, then go down in the middle. Get dragged to the basement with Iron Grasp. No DS available on that character. No thanks.

If the devs didn't want this to be possible, they'd have changed the mechanic by now.

I get that, I honestly do. But you have to understand the perspective of the remaining survivors and how that looks to them. You being on hook can still benefit the team, especially if the Bubba is a basement camping Bubba.

Although I do respect the fact that you shouldn't have to twiddle your thumbs being bored on hook just to keep a camping killer near you so your teammates can slam gens and ignore you.

It's a fine line that I hope gets tweaked a bit when the devs are able to spend some time on it.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I see this all the time. I assume its out of frustration that they were caught first and went down in 5-10 seconds. It sucks because it makes it really hard to do gens with just the three of us. It doesn't help that most killers don't let up a bit on the pressure (not that they're required to) and just make the match miserable.

Yeah, I hear that. Although killers don't have to relent when a survivor kills themself on first hook, when I play killer I normally ease up a bit. Especially if they still have 4 or 5 gens to do.

1 2 3 4 … 7
