I've been getting plenty thanks to my really awful MM. I'm being paired with baby ranks and I swear they instantly struggle the hook rather than wait. Or I'll have ones who just outright suicide or DC on first hook. Even when I'm playing killer, I'm having people do it, and I've been playing only Demo recently. I mean really. Who DC's or suicides to a Demogorgon?
That's a mood right there. Happens to me a lot as well when I'm playing killer if I go down a bunch in ranks from not playing in a while. I understand that very new people might see the "attempt escape" prompt and figure it's what you're meant to do, but still, sucks to see.

@Shaped said:
I very rarely do it. Only when I see that no one is going to save me and I get bored being on the hook.
This is a bit more understandable if you know people aren't coming for you. Sadly, the people who did it in my games decided to do it immediately. I just don't get when people do that 😅

No thanks, I don’t want to sit around for 2 minutes waiting for some survivor to die so they can get 500 points.
The change to instantly kill everyone when the game was over was one of the best ones in a while.
Cool, I want those points though. I'd settle for them giving us the equivalent struggle points upon immediate hook death. Everybody wins.

No no no. Do you insist on wasting your and killers time just bc of what like less than a 1000 BP you get 900 15BP/s of struggle.
Also just on a note this low key is a reward for getting 4k'd don't give BP cuz they didn't survive, it's called survival points not participation points.
I might survive if my teammates don't leave me, yet sometimes they do and I immediately die on hook. Idgaf about wasting time, I play the game to earn bloodpoints, as many as I can. 900 BP is 900 BP and adds to the total. Participation points are more in line for those immerse claduettes that hug the map borders and do nothing for the entire match.

@FFirebrandd said:
I'd rather they add in better and easier methods of filling up your Survival pool. Nobody wants or should have to wait for you to go through all of Hook Stage 2. I mean, what they could do is just add in a new score event that triggers when you skip stage 2 and it gives you the survival points you would have gotten via struggling.
Yeah... I'm gonna go with that. New score event that gives 900 BP in Survival which is the max you can get for struggling. It triggers whenever the game would forcibly prevent the Struggle phase from happening. You get your BP, and no one else needs to wait out your struggle timer.
I like this. Good idea!

yes.. i really think slowly but surely its just a manipulation of people who say that.
Scott jund started that (i think) saying "Using Desicisve strike together with Unbreakable is just a small pp thing"
well lets start with this topic then.
usually im not using meta perks. if Q&Q and headon is a meta perk thats a different stroy.
and since im not using META perks that is what happens.
50 games getting tunneled, hard slugged or just facecamped when the killer knows he doesnt have any meta perks.
killers also love hard tunnel when there is no obsession. so what is your point with "small pp" tell me?
playing freddy with ultra slow down isnt small pp.
playing spirit with stridor and strong addons isnt small pp.
using insta downs with killer is not small pp.
what is this dumb talk with small pp? you tunnel = you deserve to get ds'ed
you hard slug you deserve to get people with unbreakable.
you do both at the same time, you deserve both.
just because you dont immideately pick someone up and wait 60 seconds does that make you not a tunnler? ofc you tunnel, with the difference you wait 60 seconds.
you want emphaty? stop with the smallpp talk to play the victim. first stop with your scummy playstyle and maybe people stop using that "smallpp build"
and do not forget "killers playstyle make these perks META" nobody would use these perk when killers would have a little bit of emphaty.
i played for a year with no meta perks. i had enough mercy for killers.
from now on im a small pp survivor.
My question is, why the hell do you care about what people say about your build or anybody else's build? The internet and online games are filled with toxic people. It's a game, it just isn't that deep and the amount of time and emotion you seem to have invested in this is surprising. Play however you want, others will do the same.

You have to wake yourself up every 60 seconds, which takes a huge chunk out of your time and means gens pop far far slower, creating really long and boring games. Plus you fall asleep everytime you're hit which is just a pain. Vsing him isn't nescaserily hard, especially in a swf, it's just a pain and not worth it.
Yet, slowdown is a great mechanic for killers...because it stops gens from popping fast. This just sounds like someone saying they're mad that they can't rush to pop the gens and actually have to have a plan of attack to balance the sleep mechanic with doing gens.

A killer being boring to go against, or more accurately hated to go against, is a reason to nerf them because if they are not fun for both sides then it should be changed because a videogame with no ranking system should at least just be fun. and that does apply to things on both sides, killer and survivor.
Also his killrate is not just high because many people give up, its because hes increadibly easy to play and extremely overloaded as well.
Im rank 1 basically all the time and devotion 7 (which says more than rank imo).
None of what you said makes your opinion any more or less correct than mine.

Not a Freddy main, at all. Be pressed though. If you're a good survivor, you can avoid the m1.

It's not just the metrics. Vsing freddy is one of the worst experiences in the game as survivor, especially in solo. Just because they are fun to play doesn't mean they are fun to vs. There's two sides to this.
Freddy is pretty easy to go against. Wake yourself up if you're having a problem with his snares or pallets. Be mindful of his phasing as you can't see him from far away. Be alert. Like...I don't understand why people have such a difficult time against him and actively just choose to kill themselves on hook against him because they can't be bothered to learn how to counter him...or they're just bad.
-
@ggallinftw said:
I got no problem with a freddy nerf. He gets good value with minimal skill requirement. I'd bet a good percentage of freddy mains would get crushed if they used a skill oriented killer like oni or hillbilly.
Most Freddy mains will stay in low ranks... because most green/red survivors actually know how to counter him and don't cry about him as often, if ever.
Oni seems like easy mode to me, especially with a few of his add-ons in play. Billy is hold button for instant down, unless you're trying to meme and cross map people, there is very little nuance to Billy's kit and he is rewarded for minimal effort.

All I am seeing is a brain dead killer with godly map pressure and slow down and better anti loop potential than clown.
"Brain-dead killer" seems to be a lot of people's go to argument when they don't have experience to back up their claims.
"Oh, Freddy is brain-dead because he doesn't have to work as hard for his powers" where as that should be more in line for what is normal. Do you know how bullshit it is for a killer like trapper to have to set everything up at the start of a match? How garbage clown is in almost every way, even chases...which are what he is meant to be strong in. How annoying it is to play hag and get wrecked because a survivor has a flashlight which makes your power useless a lot of the time.
Freddy dictates his own powers, survivors only sway on it are the alarm clocks, which don't ruin Freddy's kit. I feel like survivors that kill themselves on hook because they personally dislike playing against Freddy are the reason the numbers are so high. If you don't like a killer, that's on you. Freddy is pretty damn close to balanced with a few minor tweaks needed in order to make him perfect imo.
In that same chart with Freddy, pig had a high kill ratio...the pig...that to me says a lot in regards to how reliable those numbers are.
-
@RocketPenguin said:

not the slow addons but the slow itself just removes all skill from a chase
Throw the pallet and his slowdown is either useless or he can't get to you in time. Otherwise, you're out of position and the slowdown is from good placement. His powers are fairly easy to counter.
I hover in green and purple ranks and most Freddy's I see are pretty meh as far as their ability to secure a kill is concerned.
The numbers are probably skewed because, as many people have stated, lots of survivors either hate Freddy because they don't know how to counter play him, or they find him boring. Neither or those things warrants a nerf imo, but the devs seem so laser focused on the numbers and not the reason behind the numbers that I'm surprised it took them this long to say they were going to nerf Freddy.

The phrase "thicken your skin", is an attempt to invalidate someone's emotional response to a situation. We never have the right to do that. Everyone has the right to their feelings... just because it may not bother you, it doesn't make your response the correct one.
Greenhorn, I am sorry to hear you have reached your quitting point. I hope you can find a game and/or community that you feel isn't so toxic.
I do agree with you, but when you decide to post your possibly divisive opinion in an online forum, people are going to say all manner of stuff. Is this surprising?
Do not post stuff online if you cannot handle some people disagreeing with you or saying something you don't like. That is always going to happen.

Yeah, honestly, idk why they didn't touch anything with regards to how well PH tunnels, because honestly, that's all people that play him seem to do, and it's simply not fun nor is it fair.
Killers who tunnel are either in need of securing a kill, trying to piss you off, or, they are actually bad at the game, but if they are bad at the game and managed to down you quickly, well, you might be bad too.
However, if you led that killer on a great long chase, and they decide you have to die, well, take solace in the fact that you've bought your team a fair amount of time and your sacrifice might ensure the escape of the other 3 survivors.

Well, yeah? You want at least a realistically fair chance when playing a video game. “Get outplayed by game design in which you can do nothing about” is not how fun works. Let me tell you, if I play against you as a Spirit your input in going to be zero. Let me tunnel you out of the game in 1 minute and then tell me how much fun you have.
“bUt ThhaTs YoUR OwN FaUlT”
No, if the killer is experienced and powerful, an experienced Spirit or Phead, your input doesn’t matter. You go down fast. And notice I say “experienced” and not “good”. Being good implies some kind of skill involved, and in the end killers like Spirit, Phead and Freddy are very basic and easy to learn killers that involve no skill or technique.
This smells of entitled and butt hurt. If you have a bad game, hit that button to que up for another game.
Experienced players are usually good players... because they have enough experience to make calls during the game that inexperienced players wouldn't know to make. Pyramid Head, Spirit, Freddy, they are all beatable killers, however, the more experience a player has with them and the game in general, the better their chances of getting a 2k - 4k match.
Losing to a killer often can sometimes mean you the player are the the one who needs changing, not the killer.
-
They have yet to put a breakable wall in killer shack, this makes me unhappy.

I get what the OP is saying. I agree with their logic for the most part, it does seem redundant to have a leave button when you'll just get slapped with a DC penalty for using it. However, they probably don't see a point in removing it because people will DC either way.
I personally dislike people who DC for anything that isn't an emergency irl. Just finish the match out and take the L. Don't rage quit like a little baby because you didn't get your way.

Yes, I do mean physically leave the location of my PC, possibly for hours at a time, like when I had to drive my grandmother to the hospital, and I don't see why I should have to take those extra steps when there's a perfectly functioning feature already embedded in the game. Your arbitrary timeline of 10-15 minutes isn't even slightly realistic.
Dont computers have a sleep timer?
-
I wish they'd kept the noise thing on the spirit. Made my mind games way more fun.
Anybody on here complaining about PH or DS needing a nerf probably just haven't given themselves enough time to learn counterplay. Sometimes, yes, you can't avoid a hit, but that isn't always the killers fault. Did you run into a dead zone? Did you get stuck on the environment for a second and as a result, the killer got close enough to score a hit during your next vault? Maybe you were going to take a hit regardless, but because it's PH using his power, you think you had no choice.
As an aside, I think it's great to have a killer who can force a survivor away from a strong tile sometimes. PH is great for that, however, he can lack in the gen defense department. Yeah there are perks that can help him out, but one or those is a hex totem that can be broken. One of those is reliant on hooking survivors, and a few others that rely on survivors to clump up on a generator and other such things.
-
You know you can block messages right? You can play the game and not allow others to message their last ditch attempt to get under your skin by being toxic. When I started the game, I got a few messages from salty survivors, so I blocked messages on PSN from anyone who isn't a friend of a friend. Worked great for me. Now I can Mori all day and not have to deal with angry survivors.

Killers get to keep their OP stuff as long as BNP exist.
Survivors can gen rush without them but WITH them makes an annoying give minute game.
So don't ask for killers to get nerfed in ANY way until the gen speeds are fixed. Though it won't surprise me if the devs do it anyway.
They don't care about their killers that actually want to just have good fun games.
Nice strawman dude. I am not talking about survivor perks or add-ons here. I agree that some survivor add-ons could use a rework. I actually think BNP is fine unless it is a 4 man team who ALL have BNP on their toolbox.
Either way, take your argument onto a thread that it relates to. I'm a killer main, I'm not some butthurt survivor main crying about ######### I know nothing about.
I've played both sides and it is my opinion that iri head or the add-ons that typically get run with it DO need tweaking or something.

DC Penalty is ridiculous, 48 hours is beyond imaginable. No other game tells people they can't play for days on end for any reason. Killers are the reason people DC, rewarding them for being toxic is unacceptable. Suicide on hook is an option for getting out of an unpalatable match for sure, but that does nothing for people who just get kicked out from the server. I was kicked out of my last match, and I am now sitting out a 15 minute penalty for doing absolutely nothing, I have top of the line internet so this BS is not me. Which is why I am on here looking for DC posts. Because I am beyond frustrated being punished for just trying to actually play this game. This is exactly why I have stopped buying DLCs and auricular cells altogether, I am not going to sink any money into a game that I may or may not be able to even play by their whims.
I mean...the devs ultimately can dictate how people play their game. That said, it's more the fact that to achieve a 48 hour ban, the OP either rage quite A LOT or has absolutely terrible internet. Whatever the reason, other players should not be punished in game because OP likes to dc or their internet is horrible.

Killers should get a penalty for face camping that's the only time I can understand a Survivor disconnect if a killer face camps the game is basically over
Killers do have a penality for face camping. They lose BP for being near a hooked survivor and basically forfeit the match just to secure a kill.

But brand new part, object, decisive, adrenaline and everything like that is fine right.
Bold of you to assume I don't take issue with some survivor add-ons. I'm a killer main, but I do play survivor up to about green/purple rank. I don't hate BNP unless it's a squad of 4 who all have BNP on 4 seperate gens.
Adrenaline is fine imo because it rewards the survivors for doing their job...the gens. Does it get annoying when an entire team runs adrenaline? Yes. I don't come across that all too often though.
I do take umbrage with OoO despite the fact that I only see it 1 in every 25 games. I definitely think the devs need to tweak it so it only works if both the survivor and killer are looking at one another in a small cone.
Decisive would be okay if they reduced the active time to 20 or 30 seconds. Too many survivors are emboldened by the lengthy amount of time they are "safe" while DS is active and I get disrespected a lot by survivors who have DS up.
I have opinions on all of those things, but this post was about iri head. I don't know why you went with the strawman argument.

You don't treat symptoms to fix anything in any field. You treat root causes, and the devs aren't really doing that here. I strongly disagree with the d/c penalty. Now people who want out just AFK or point at the hook. But at least they aren't d/c'ing I guess?
As an aside, symptomatic treatment is a thing that exists.

I'd disagree, but it sounds like you're on PC. I play on console. My experiences have been vastly different than yours. Most of the dc's I see are immediately after a survivor is downed or hooked, or they locker dc to Narnia. Symptoms need to be addressed before the root cause can be weeded out. They are addressing the symptom of dc'ing to hopefully dissuade people from doing it. It is unfortunate if your or your friends client keeps crashing, but I've never once had my game close on console or crash due to connection, so again, my experiences differ wildly from yours.
People who are angry so they dc do need to be reprimanded otherwise it'll just keep happening. Bhvr does however need to tweak it a bunch, it sucks if you don't intentionally dc and you still get a 5+ minute ban period though, I get that.

It's so unfair. You can play perfectly but because your teammates feed Meyers stalk, you get punished by the level 3. And that's just Meyers at base. With his tombstone add-ons he can just walk up and mori you. You don't need to be hooked or even downed for this to happen. I want to know: what were they thinking when making this add-on? This is even worse than pink Leatherface add-ons, instadown hatchets, it beats everything. It can even be combined with perma-tier 3 so that all 4 survivors can be moried without even being downed or hooked. And it's all done by just staring at survivors. I know skill is a polarizing word, but seriously where is the skill in these add-ons?
I've run up against 3 or 4 infinite tier 3 tombstone myers. Almost every game I played against them they got looped and didn't get more than a kill or two because it took them 84 years to hit tier 3. If it's just tombstone with memorial, hide or loop. Throw pallets early. I know everyone's milage will vary when it comes to facing different killers/builds, but myers is a very easy killer to evade even with infinite tier 3 built in Mori shenanigans.
-
I play both sides...I get annoyed at things that both sides do. I usually just start the next game and take my bad games as they come. Yes I still post on here out of frustration sometimes, but I don't know that all killers act the way you say they do.
-
If a killer tunnels and camps in every game, they are probably not very skilled and playing at a low level.
I will tunnel/camp/slug when the situation calls for it, but I'm usually confident enough to leave a hooked survivor and apply pressure elsewhere.
Best of luck with your boycott.

I'm sorry you don't understand my comparison 😊 If SWF actually broke the game, the devs would remove it. I've beat many 4 man's. I've lost to the 4 man's that sweat harder than me. How is this broken? You cannot win every match you play.

I do, I care about twitter. Lots of people follow the game devs on twitter. It gets depressing when every single post is hijacked by 3 or 4 people screaming (pun intended) about Prescott and other people that a large chunk of the player base just don't want in the game. Why should bhvr cater to the vocal minority?
If people wanted Sydney, those posts on twitter wouldn't get ratio'd so bad every time. The vast majority of people are just annoyed by the Prescott "queens" acting like spoiled kids in the Twitter posts from Bhvr. They also called those people out in their last dev stream, it was fantastic.

A lot of survivors do quit when facing certain killers. Everybody in this game will have biases, regardless of who they play as. I personally don't mind going against 4 man SWF sweat groups, but I know I might get stomped if I don't play equally sweaty and rearrange my perks and offerings to counter what I assume they'll have as perks.
Luckily, I play a lot of Pyramid Head and his power is a great counter to a lot of regularly ran survivor perks (provided they messed up and step in a trail of torment)
Either way, SWF can be annoying, but so can killers who love ebony Mori's and noed. This game is near impossible to balance, at least in a way that would make everyone happy.

This game makes enough money off of cosmetic purchases alone to handle costs like that not even counting the DLC that cost 8 dollars a pop , if anything the amount of people buying the new content when it drops is enough, if they put someone as iconic as sidney in the game it would immediately sell it's a no brainer , personally I would like to see pinhead in the game as the next licensed killer but saying that licensing costs too much money when they're dropping 10 dollar skins like it's nothing , if only 100,000 people bought a 10 dollar skin when it dropped that's still a million dollars they've gained for a skin that arguably isn't even worth the 10 dollars you paid for it
How do you know how much the game makes? Also, how much do licenses cost exactly? You seem to be quite versed on the subject.

Trying to get attention by telling a spammer to stop? If someone was consistently poking your face irl would you not tell them to stop? People I see shaming and belittling them are also usually responding to the Prescott people acting like an absolute douche to them, not saying it's right, but it's a response to toxic behavior. Ded servers still being buggy, grabbing animation bugged, Spirit still nof nerfed, devs still releasing annoying anti loop killers and their only counter it's gen rushing forcing us to play stealthy (boring af). And now with crossplay, console survivors being useless, camping pallets, dc'ing, exploting gens and console killers using devour + undying + noed. This game it's becoming incredibly annoying, boring for survivors and all because BHVR.
Thank you BHVR for doing this game so good!!!
Just wanted to say, from a console player perspective, some PC players are also brain-dead pallet campers who bring the team down. It isn't a platform problem, bad players exist on all platforms.
