How? Hillbilly and leatherface can practically do the same thing, just not at a distance.

You said it yourself, not at a distance. Lots of huntress players that run iri head don't go for long distance shots, they run up behind you and just hold the hatchet up until they get an easy shot and boom, insta down. It's really ######### to play against, I get why people just don't want to deal with it an entire match.

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

Sometimes it's the correct play. There are many variables, it's not black and white.

Absolutely, but in all of my experiences, nobody ran BT. Nobody tried to distract the killer or lead them away. They just ran at the hook while the killer was chasing them and unhooked me. I don't see the strategic advantage there aside from them hoping the killer goes for me and not them, which is super scummy and still warrants the criticism in my original post.

  • Normally I don't hate campers too much as they are giving the rest of your team time to pop gens. However, when a killer camps and tunnels the entire match, it gets frustrating. Perfectly healthy survivor tried body blocking the killer from tunneling me twice, he ignored them completely, didn't even injure them to get them to move, killer just really hated that I looped him/her for 2 minutes and pallet stunned once I guess?

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Dead hard for distance. Not to force missed hits.

It can and should be used for both. Sadly, with the way it is right now, trying to bait a swing always ends up with you on the ground exhausted with no payoff from using your dead hard. It's ridiculous and hopefully behavior fixes it soon.

  • @Meroko said:

imagine complaining about something so minor that has no actual impact on the gameplay. You'll live bud

If it's so minor, why not just leave it in the game? It wasn't hurting anybody, an extra last chance for a survivor to gain some BP.

  • Can confirm this add-on is bullshit. Especially paired with bleach or other clown add-ons that can prolong the effects. So stupid. Clown runs up right behind you, throws bottle, insta down. No risk, no drawback.

  • Pair that infinite tier 3 Myers with the add-on that makes it quicker for him to gain Evil within and it doesn't take that long. Add on top of that a few survivors who aren't savvy at completely choking Myers off from stalking and it really isn't a long process to get EW tier 3. That varies from game to game but I will say I can see how some (myself included at times) might consider this add on a bit bullshit to go against.

Your thoughts on this would kill the game, so I guess you would rather have no game at all than have a challenge? Swf is fine in fact id be willing to bet they die more often trying to help each other. If people want to play EZ games go play the bots on mobile, swf isn't going anywhere and the devs have stated plenty of times they aren't gonna punish people for playing with their friends when it was always intended to be that way even when it wasn't an option when the game first came out it was always in the plans to bring it to the game

You sound an awful lot like a survivor main to me.

  • @Pryzm said:

Triggered, sensitive, insecure players will avoid them. It would be no different than letting survivors know what killer they are facing, even if you locked their current build in. They'd see they are facing Spirit and leave lobby. WTH is the point of that? Punished for playing a killer, or punished for playing a GAME with friends?

Stop with this silliness. I face SWF non-stop and though it can get frustrating at times, most suck horribly and try so hard to be a top-tier streamer while turning out to be a rotten potato. There is way too much crying about SWF on this forum. Yes, comms give an advantage, but I'd rather see them buff solo survivor and killers as opposed to letting us know when there is an SWF or nerfing SWF.

That's an opinion. Don't tell OP not to have one though.

  • @Seanzu said:

this game is so insanely easy for killer to what it used to be 2/3 years ago, I doubt any of you would have stuck around for more than a few months, y'all have it so easy now lol.

    SWF is fine.

Calm down there kid. You're making assumptions that you have no way of backing up. Both sides might have it "easier" than they did 2/3 years ago, when the game was new...and hadn't been iterated on or improved. So naturally it makes sense if the process for both sides becomes more fluid and "easy", that doesn't invalidate the OP argument though, it has absolutely nothing to do with it actually as that was 2-3 years ago and this is now.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Because for one, its not a problem, but people want it to be. So if someone sees a swf they make it a self fulfilling prophecy and go super hard against them, to "stop the problem".

Secondly, it does no good to know. 4 person solo squads can be just as good, and either way its irrelevant. Play the game, move on to the next. Them being a group doesnt change much. Maybe the difficulty a little, but you cant have easy games all the time...

The only people who would benefit/act on this information are people who are ALREADY biased against swf for any reason they can muster.

SWF have information that solo survivors do not. They have an inherent advantage that regularly isn't there. As a killer main I personally don't make taking an L to SWF sometimes, but there are a fairly large number of instances where I get flashlight spammed and tea bagged and post game messages saying I'm trash, and why? Because they could literally just tell each other where I was at all times, add onto that 4 DS, 4 BT, 4 Adrenaline and 4 other random perks that serve to annoy and you have a very unpleasant experience. At least having the knowledge BEFORE going into a match that you're facing a premade can allow you to switch up your build/offering if applicable to give you the best chance at winning.

I can finish the entire battle pass of apex legends when I do the entire season NOTHING but start playing 1 week before it ends. Try that with dbd. Oh Wait, you telling me I have to play EVERYDAY multiple hours (not even considering lobby times) and I don't even get that great stuff compared to the battle pass of apex? Oh damn.

So don't buy it you big silly lol

  • Pay to win seems like an overreaction. Does it suck that some perks you can't get unless you wait for the shrine to have them or pay for the characters they come with? Sure. That doesn't make the game P2W.

I've seen loads of people (both killers and survivors) run no perks and do just fine. If somebody NEEDS a perk like say...DS, well, that's a conversation for a different post.

Regardless, you're obviously entitled to your opinion as I am to mine, but again, it seems a bit harsh to call a game P2W just because you don't like how they've chosen to monetize it.

If you could never get a perk unless you spent real world money, that would be scummy and P2W, but as far as I've seen, every single perk can be added to the SoS pool. So maybe you'll have to wait for the perk you want, but you'll get it eventually.

  • I feel for you, I do. I main killer and I've run into problems with Unbreakable before, I stopped slugging all 4 people...and it's not a problem anymore. Even if a survivor is running near me while I have 1 or 2 people downed, I just focus on hooking those two people, maybe I'll smack the uninjured survivor if they get a bit too cocky, otherwise, chase them later. Just my advice, take it with a grain of salt.

  • My last 3 games as survivor (I'm a rank 15 as I don't play survivor too often) were against rank 1 killers. It gets really disheartening when you get completely curb stomped 3 games in a row by a killer who is far better at the game than the entire survivor team.

  • @siren_sorceress said:

Anyone who thinks solo surv is playable probably crouches until everyone dies and hops in hatch. Solo players are selfish. Players that dont want to work as a team or cant because they dont know how are boring and unfun to be in matches with. This is why swf is fun. Voice coms have little to do with it. Playing without voice can be really fun if you have good team mates. I can depend on my friends. They know how to run, juke, stealth, save, not waste time healing every time they are injured....

Idk why its controversial to say I want to play with team mates that are at my skill level. No more no less. It's not fun knowing in solo if I want to escape I basically have to play selfishly bc ik the moment I'm on the hook I'm at the mercy of bad players. Ik lots of killers like playing against selfish, clueless randos so they can tunnel them to death and then come for me when they've wasted all the pallets... but uh, it ain't for me.

Solo survivors aren't always selfish, but you'd be right probably 75% of the time, at least speaking from the experience I've had in Solo q. I can say with some confidence that a lot of solo players don't know or care about safe unhooks, I've been unhooked many times while in the killers TR and the survivor that does the unhook isn't running BT. It gets very frustrating because they unhook, run off, watch me get downed, unhook again while the killer is just starting to leave and boom, I'm dead. It sucks for me, but sucks more for the rest of the team having to be down a survivor just because some dumb dumb didn't know or care about when to unhook and when not to.

Hillbilly already has drawbacks to his power. This nerf is adding a fifth or sixth drawback to his power.

Hillbilly has some small drawbacks, so does every killer. I think the balance changes are necessary to make him more in line with killers they've released since having a cooldown on their abilities. Hillbilly and nurse were the powerhouse killers for a very long time, now it will just take more practice to master Billy (and nurse too since her changes happened)

XBOX: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

Switch: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, +

Worked for me on PS4 :) Thanks m8

  • Not gonna lie, if there are two gens done and nobody dead, I will absolutely secure a kill regardless if people want to call it tunneling or not. I'm a killer...I must kill. Maybe running into the sharp part of my weapon with your face wasn't the optimal play, but it happened, que up for another game and hope for the best.

  • @monstermaster42 said:

Hook a survivor once and they can be killed vs do a few quick fire skill checks for some bonus progress on a gen OR press a button to heal somebody a few seconds later OR survive until your teammates die and then hopefully find the hatch before the killer (who probably also has Noed) finds you. . . Yeah seems super fair, clearly the game favors survivors with aaaaaall these advantages they get 😂

4 vs 1. Pretty big advantage, unless you're just really bad at the game...I could see why you would think survivors had no advantages.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I love when killer mains moan about how op survivors are or their perks

The day killers admit noed and ######### like that is op then thats when we have balance

Noed is only OP if you don't take a bit of time to cleanse totems. If you're worried about Noed, cleanse. It's one of the easiest countered perks in the game imo.

  • Why are freckles your big concern? Stop playing the game if it's that devastating to your life that she doesn't have freckles.

  • @nerdguy5 said:

If you have to rely on MORIS because you don’t wanna be come a better play you probably SHOULD stop playing! You are probably the same person who is mad they are nerfing moris but is the same person to quit when you see a player with a key. Goodbye

Where did the OP say they relied on Moris?

  • Why DC over a key? Do your best and move on. Keep going and you'll get to the point where keys don't phase you :)

  • I'll camp a hook for a bit if the survivors are constantly rushing those unhooks while I'm still really close to the hook. People have sent me salty messages and said they reported me. Nothing ever came of it because it isn't something you can get banned for (I believe) so, you're fine my guy. Good call on your choices in the game, keep fighting the good fight.

  • @Ohlookahook2 said:

So I take it the sight of toolboxes triggered you and you went into a fit of rage and camped them. Yea that's pretty toxic.

    Who hurt you bro.

  • Maybe it's just me, if I get 2 kills in a game as killer, I'm a happy guy. I just like to mess around and have fun though. Letting survivors go or just focusing on one toxic survivor and letting the rest do their thing.

  • @NullEXE said:

    As a Canadian. That hurt.

Same brother, same. Raise a maple leaf and give an F for all us Canadians.

  • Some killers definitely needed ruin more than others. Despite whatever you think in your ivory tower at rank 3 as killer, some people enjoyed the slight buffer ruin could give at the start of a match.

If the survivor team knew what they were doing and checked totem spots, ruin would've served its purpose at slowing the game down at the start while the killer begins chases or sets up for other things.

You can work through a ruin if you're good. Take pride in it if you could actually hit those skill checks. Either way, I only use ruin (or I did, not anymore) on piggy and trapper, sometimes wraith. Really gave me an edge for about a minute before survivors cleansed.

So yeah, good job on the bait topic. Loved it.

  • So, I'm loving all the answers in this thread. Good light hearted fun :)

My honest opinion, any of the "human" killers (bubba,Myers, legion, etc) would probably die first. My theory being that yes, they are strong, but they are still human. Freddy, Oni, Demo, Spirit and so on belong to a more special realm or plane of existence so I figure they would have the edge in most scenarios. Spirit is technically a ghost so good luck killing her....again.

Freddy is a freaking nightmare demon who is again, dead. So, kill him and chances are he will come right back.

Demogorgon is a freaking monster from another plane of existence, very durable, has a giant flower head that can eat you, massive claws and the ability to walk between realms.

Oni is also a ghost (right?) Who goes donkey Kong over everything, so, again, good luck with that...try stabbing him with a kitchen knife Myers and see what happens.

Sorry for long the post....this was a lot of fun to think about!

PS. Jason Vorhees would show up at the end of the fight as a boss character. ;)

I shouldn't have to completely change whatever build I'm using just to use the meta perks to escape. The whole point of this game is to have fun and if I'm just stuck using a meta build to survive against a now somewhat overpowered killer, it's not fun.

I've been playing for months and old doctor wasnt as bad. I dread any game against doctor because it's so difficult to get out with my own build

Fun goes both ways though. The killer shouldn't be reworked because you aren't having fun. He just got a rework and it made him a bit more viable.

You shouldn't have to completely change your build. Try calm spirit, 1 perk and it'll make a world of difference.

  • I think the only killer that needs a nerf is Nea.

  • I can say as a console player, I rarely see the nurse because using a controller just doesn't give you the freedom of movement needed for nurse. Every nurse I've gone against on PS4 was having a bad time unfortunately.

  • Didn't you know? The new meta is to try and make the game void of killer mains. Survivors only, Nea will be the only killer.

  • More often than not, if 2-3 gens pop within 5 minutes, I will start to play more sweaty. Not to say I tunnel or camp...but if a survivor insists on running around the hook the second I put someone on it, I'm going to make the hooked survivor pay. I will always try to get at least 2 kills, if I'm lucky, the final 2 survivors are overly altruistic and I end up with a 4k. All of this is to say, don't give up if the survivors are going super fast, just do what you can and maybe try to sweat on them a little. Couldn't hurt, right? Also, not giving 2 poops about the broken ranking system helps.

  • I think no matter what this game will have bias and these arguments (as pointless as they are) will never stop.

I always viewed Insta heals as the equivalent yo mori's. And instas are already nerfed yo the ground.

Keys aren't that bad. If 4 survivorsescape via hatch than they were likely getting out anyway.

If 4 survivors die to a Mori, chances are they were dead from the start.

  • @gamerscrybecauseofme said:

I don't like the ruin change, it's a blatant nerf to the hex that will render it mostly useless like all other hexes beyond the insta down hexes. Thankfully, I am not a trash killer and don't use it anyway.

However, it's been great hearing about the killers dropping ranks because they can't keep up with the pace of the game at red ranks. It's about time they dropped into the ranks they deserve to play in.

Hopefully now, when I load into a trial as survivor, I get a killer that can actually play, rather than lazily rely on a totem to do all the hard work for them.

Also, I am going to love it as killer, as I will be completely unaffected by the change, like I was with every other change to nurf killers, why? Because killers are overpowered. The only chance survivors have, is with 4man swf, and even then, they get squished most the time. If you're not capable of that as killer, then enjoy the purple/green ranks or even playing some other game 👍

Weird flex at the end, but sure.

    no not at all.

    noed works like this.

While Adreanaline rewards you for doing your objective noed rewards you for losing.

Even though both perks a crutches. one of them is atleast deserved the other is not.

While other perks like unbreakable or DS are just second chances. unbreakable removes the punishment of being downed if the killer trys to win time by slugging and ds can active even if u downed 2 others as long as the timer didnt run out.

So noed is arguably better because you can set it and forget it lol if survivors wanna rush, they can die that much faster at the end game!

Adrenaline rewards you even if you do absolutely nothing all game, perfectly balanced.

  • @NDwight88 said:

Noed is like insurance that a killer will get some kills and it’s annoying to survivors because like you said, killer does nothing to earn it. Sure you can take out all totems but without a solid team it rarely happens.

So Noed, while effective, is a total crutch perk that gives unskilled killers kills they otherwise wouldn’t get. Sad thing is, these killers who use it every time never get better at game either so who gets the last laugh? Hmmm

I'd disagree. I will switch to NOED sometimes if I see 4 tool boxes and I want to make sure it isn't just memes for the survivors to plow through the gens. It is insurance, sure, but it isn't a bad perk. If some people use it as a crutch that is their loss, but not all killers that run NOED are unskilled or unable to improve. Same with not all survivors that run adrenaline or DS are bad survivors. I'd say it's on a case by case basis.
