What is with people on forums straight up roasting the killers today?

First it was how the slowdown between pig and pinhead is different because pinhead got buffed, now its overheat. You guys woke up with violence today

    Peace was never an option...

  • Short answer; Spaghetti Code

Long Answer; There are so many variables that need to be taken into account for a game like Dead By Daylight and it was built on a pretty poor foundation. All the perk interactions, powers, add-ons, map generation, and other factors get jumbled together and make it so one little change can cause 25 other unintended bugs. Adding new content compiles these issues and doesn't make it much easier.

  • If you want to be heroic? Move unpredictably and hope she misses. Borrowed Time will help the person on the hook.

If you are on the hook? Same as above, but hope your teammates are capable.

If you want to get out? Slam gens as fast as you can. Any killer that insists on camping, isn't pressuring gens. Punish them.

If no one comes for you? Just feel some satisfaction in wasting the killer's time while your teammates (hopefully) were doing gens.

  • Definitely Chris. There is a clear difference between a self taught street brawler like David and someone who literally punches boulders.

    Trickster:

As Clown reaches back to launch a bottle, Trickster throws a blade which sticks in to Clown's inner wrist. Howling in pain, Clown drops the bottle on his own head. Trickster then attacks the prone Clown with a flurry of thrown blades, bringing the big man to his knees. As the toxin fades, Clown is at Trickster's mercy. Trickster raises his weapon high and brings it crashing down on to the Clown's head, splitting it like a watermelon.

...as the bat crashes into Clowns head all that can be heard is a *honk honk*. The Clown is dead, but so is Trickster's pride...

Depends. If it’s entity powered oni he’d wipe the floor with billy but in their human form I think billy would win due to his endurance and chainsaw

Well the area in which they're fighting in wasn't disclosed. For all we know it could be a narrow alley.

There's a thought though: Trickster just running up to Clown and just springboarding off his head to get out of there. Dunno if that counts as winning the fight. Could probably tire him out in any other situation so maybe it does go to Trickster regardless.

For now, data collection is all I'm after. Location isn't important.

  • I imagine just "The Pennywise". Seems to be the trend when no other recognizable name would fit.

"The Clown" is already taken so obviously can't be that.

We already have Ghostface as "The Ghostface", Demogorgon as "The Demogorgon", and Nemisis as "The Nemesis".

Although, I don't think it would matter much in the end what his name would end up being, we'd all still call him Pennywise.

  • @Myla said:

Weapon wise trickster would win. Long range and it's not even a bat, It's probably an axe at that point. Plus knives.

Though if powers worked according to their in game lore Clown would win.

Weapons and powers are both factored in.

  • @FengisKawaii said:

Tricksters baby knives can´t penetrate the thicc armor the Clown is packing

    He do be thicc tho.

    This isn’t a comparison tbh.

I don't know, I'm getting a pretty even split so far.

  • @Altarf said:

    Is this even a question?

I just like to see people's rational for killer 1v1's. Doesn't matter how one sided a fight is, it's always interesting.

  • @Aneurysm said:

They'd have to find each other first

First hit would decide the fight, I imagine.

There's other threads about this. We don't know much more than this.

It could be that Pinhead audio was playing for the Chatterer skin and they are figuring out how to not have that happen and have different audio for it play. I don't know, just trying to stay hopeful.

  • I don't think you'll get a definite answer to that. It looks like the description for boon totems was added by mistake. It'll probably be hot fixed out, but it might not because the new survivor might be bringing in boon totems and why go through the effort of patching something out just to put it back in.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

Experienced bounty hunter and ex-member of a violent gang from the Wild West vs literally 4 teenagers

"Oh, careful dude, those teens have knives."

    "Whaaat, no, no we don't..."

  • There have been some leaks about Pyramid Head and Nemisis skins coming out around October, but take it with a grain of salt.

Well then leatherface easily. Pinheads power would be useless against bubba since he has to get within chainsaw distance to do anything with him.

True, but all Pinhead has to do is keep him at bay until the box comes into full affect. Then, once he's bound by the chains, Pinhead can go in and kill him.

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

Like based off their dbd powers or their movies.

    Dbd powers.

  • As killer, for me, 8 hooks or 2 kills.

As survivor, for me, helping 2 to 3 other survivors escape whether it be by sacrificing myself so they escape or just being generally helpful throughout the match.

Thats kinda dumb, because if the killer face camp it will ruin the survivor experience with the game mostly because there is ranks

I don't care about ranks, it just makes things more stressful than they have to be.

  • Just hope for a perk that will do that, because the Devs have stated that camping is a legitimate strategy.

  • That would be really cool. The balls are called Sentinals, by the way. I imagine he can set up trails or paths that the Sentinels can travel and if a survivor crosses the path of one while it's close by it will chase them and injure them. He could probably also control a gold Sentinel that will down a survivor if they don't remove it. For the weapon, just have one of the silver orbs.

  • I was able to get it by chance. Honestly, to get the best chance of getting it I'd play in a 4 man and have your 3 others die on hook while 99ing a gen. That's the best scenario I can think off the top of my head.

  • From what I've heard this is just a band-aid fix. They are working on fixing the issue, but it's never going to be 100% fixed do to general latency.

  • @glitchboi said:

Maybe make it so that the vaccines cure contamination, but injure the survivor after using the vaccine. Idk, that's just my idea.

I like that idea too. You could also make so there is only one vaccine.

Before I get into my idea I just wanted to say, yes, I know the idea of a Werewolf killer has been done a thousand times, and yes, I know that the DBD devs have said they will never do a disguising killer ever. However, this Werewolf killer will not disguise themselves as a survivor! Not original either, but I've seen less ideas like this than I have for one that does. I'm probably not the best at making backstories, but I did to challenge myself. Any constructive feedback is welcome and appreciated.

New Map: Howling Grounds (Red Forest)

Main Features: A cabin in a large clearing and the killer shack in the forest of many tall trees.

    Killer Real Name: François Loup

Location of Origin: 18th Century France

Killer Background: A seemingly normal man, François enjoyed the simple things in life. He lived by himself at the edge of the Mercoire forest. He hunted for himself and lived off of the land. He always had a spare bed for any traveler that came across his cabin and were welcome to stay the night. However, all that took him up on his offer would never see the sun again. For in the night François would take on his true form as a horrifying animal that would hunt his guests throughout the night. By morning, all that was left for him to do was burn the bones and scraps of clothes in his fire pit. One night however, a band of soldiers from the king were sent to investigate disappearances that were being reported. After arriving at the cabin, they found it to be completely abandoned. They then looked at the entrance of the forest and saw a large shape disappear into a thick fog.

    New Killer: The Beast

The Beast is a hunting Killer, able to relentlessly track down his prey and rip them apart. With his power, On The Prowl, survivors will have to take things slow, or else they will risk having him quickly track them down and viciously attacked. His personal perks, Full Moon, Lingering Hatred, and Chilling Howls, allow him to spot unassuming prey, and punish other survivors if they escape.

Killer Appearance: Picture any werewolf you've ever seen in your head.

    Speed: 115%

    Height: Tall

    Terror Radius: 32m

    Weapon: Beastly Claw

    Power: On The Prowl

Passive: Survivors create footsteps behind them that glow red while not in chase. Only the killer can see these footprints. They are created when the survivor walks or runs and last for 15 seconds. After a chase ends the survivor will begin make more footprints after 5 seconds.

Active Ability #1 (Prowl): The Killer lowers their profile and gets on all fours. While in this mode, they move at 145% speed, jump through windows and over pallets, but can't attack or open lockers. They can turn normally and aren't stunned if they collide with anything. Their terror radius is increased by 8m while in Prowl. It takes 1 second to shift into Prowl and 2 seconds to shift out of it. You do not gain Blood Lust while in Prowl.

Active Ability #2 (Maul): The killer can preform a series of 4 lunge attacks that travel forward 4m at 180% speed. There is a 1.5 second charge up time and slow down to 100% movement speed while charging and can't be cancelled one activated. Speed is returned to normal during the lunges. You have a short window of time in which you can change your direction at the end of each lunge before the next one begins. This ability can break though pallets and continues even after a pallet is broken. The ability goes on cooldown if all lunges have been completed or if a survivor is hit. The cooldown consists of you stopping in place and howling, which lasts for 3 seconds.

    Perks

Full Moon: The Entity has allowed the moon to aid in your hunt. If a survivor has been running for 60/45/30 seconds, their aura is revealed for 15 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 30 seconds.

Lingering Hatred: The frustration of your prey slipping away makes your hatred grow for the others. If a survivor escapes from a chase, all other survivors receive the Oblivious status effect for 60 seconds and the Exposed status effect for 5/10/15 seconds.

Chilling Howls: Your screams of pain only terrify your prey more. Each time a survivor stuns you (pallet, locker, flashlight, etc.) this perk gains a token. For each token, all survivors receive a 5% generator repair speed reduction. This perk can have a maximum of 1/2/3 tokens. All tokens are depleted once a survivor is put into the dying state.

    Add-ons

    Common

Monkshood: Slightly decreases terror radius while in Prowl.

Shredded Hat: Slightly increases lunge distance during Maul.

Faded Prints: Footprints left by survivors last slightly longer.

Tuft Of Fur: Slightly increases speed while in Prowl.

    Uncommon

Crescent Moon Bouquet: Slightly decrease the cooldown after Maul.

Lupus Claw: Slightly increases speed and slightly decreases terror radius while in Prowl.

Shredded Shirt: Survivors hit with Maul suffer from the Hemorrhage and Mangled status effects.

Silver Locket: Slightly decrease the time it takes to shift between Prowl and Standing.

Muddy Prints: Footprints left by survivors last moderately longer.

    Rare

Shredded Pants: Survivors hit with Maul suffer from the Broken status effect for 120 seconds.

Quarter Moon Bouquet: Moderately decreases the cooldown after Maul.

Lupus Fang: Moderately increases speed and slightly decreases terror radius while in Prowl.

Silver Dagger: Moderately decreases the time it takes to shift between Prowl and Standing.

Bloody Prints: Footprints left by survivors last considerably longer.

    Very Rare

Shredded Jacket: Survivors hit with Maul suffer from the Hindered status effect for 120 seconds.

Full Moon Bouquet: Considerably decrease the cooldown after Maul.

Fresh Prints: Footprints left by survivors last tremendously longer and their aura is revealed when you are 8m away from them and not in chase.

Silver Bullet: Considerably decrease the time it takes to shift between Prowl and Standing.

    Ultra Rare

New Moon Bouquet: Maul no longer ends if you hit a survivor and your lunge distance is considerably increased, but you can no longer break pallets with Maul.

Fresh Kill: Survivor footsteps no longer glow red, but when you walk on top of them, the aura of the survivor that left them is revealed for 30 seconds. All survivor auras will disappear if you start a chase.

    New Survivor: Mark Stone

    Gender: Male

    Nationality: British

Survivor Background: Mark Stone is a British SAS Operative that has been serving since he was 18 years old. He has been on countless counter terrorism missions and covert operations. He was on his was to being promoted to Lieutenant when the worst happened. On a mission to infiltrate an enemy base something went wrong and he and his squad had to retreat. Their escape route had been block off by enemy forces and they needed to find an alternate means to make it to the extraction point. The only way to make it out was a small path that went underneath the enemy. Many of the troops were already wounded including Mark himself. However, Mark volunteered to stay behind and hold off any forces that tried to get behind them. As he watched his squad disappear one by one into the ground all he could think about was their safety and getting them out alive. The enemy forces closed in and he held them off for as long as he could. Eventually, a bullet struck him in his left side and he fell to the ground. He got back up and kept firing. Suddenly, his vision began to fog up and he started to drift into unconsciousness. His body was never found, but was assumed KIA. He was awarded for his honorable sacrifice and service.

    Survivor Appearance: Military Special Op

    Role: Stealthy Operative

Mark Stone is a stealthy operative, capable of staying out of sight of the killer.

His personal perks, Covert Op, Fall Back, and Queens Cross, help him to stay hidden and get away from the killer and help other survivors after he is sacrificed.

    Perks

Covert Op: You know what is at stake if you don't get this job done silently. Whenever you are in the killers terror radius this perk will activate. While Covert Op is active, you will not leave scratch marks for 60/90/120 seconds and you make no sound while running or falling. Covert Op will deactivate while in chase. Covert Op becomes permanently deactivated for the remainder of the trial once the total duration has eclipsed.

Fall Back: You know when you are fighting a losing battle and know when the best time to pull out and reorganize. If you are put into the injured state from the healthy state you gain 5% haste and all vaults you take are fast vaults for 10/20/30 seconds.

Queen's Cross: You know that sometimes people don't make it out alive, but that doesn't mean your death will be in vain. If you are sacrificed before the exit gates are powered, all other survivors remaining in the trial receive a 5/10/15% bonus to repair, healing, sabotage, cleansing, and exit opening speeds for 180 seconds. If you escape with this perk, you gain an additional 25% bloodpoints. Increases your chances of becoming the Obsession. (Queen's Cross will not stack if another survivor running this perk is sacrificed before the timer ends.)

Let me know what you think and if there is anything you would change. There is bound to be something that will be too overpowered or underpowered. Thank you!

Just edited a bit for an up to date game.

  • Either some sort of Hacker/nerd type or a Black-Ops soldier type.

The hacker would have Perks centered around sabotage and tricking the killer, while the soldier would have a some stealth Perks and a perk that triggered after death/sacrifice.

  • If you find yourself becoming frustrated, switch to survivor. If survivor is too frustrating, switch to another game or take a break. In the end, it's just a game and its not worth becoming angry or upset and potentially rage quiting from a game. Not only does it affect you, but it affects the other people playing.

We've all been there and know what it's like. You got this!

  • Good for you. I got all my teachables a couple months ago and it felt like a big accomplishment.

  • I like to run Perks I normally don't see very often. Keeps people on their toes and makes games more interesting.

  • Rancor Roulette.

    Any high mobility killer.

Rancor, Make Your Choice, Nemisis, Furtive Chase.

Only go after the Obsession, they will switch once rescued, down them with MYC, rinse and repeat until the end, kill the Obsession with a Mori.

  • It'd be cool if the killer had some sort of passive ability to leave trails of fire, kind of like PH, but always and they stay in the environment for less time.

  • You don't see that every day...

  • I've had some fun with Smash Hit.

  • If you change Murky Depths into that, probably should make it inside your terror radius or some other qualifier. My original idea is that it would be something like the killers version of Balanced Landing, but I didn't want it to be just a speed boost .

I don't think you'd need them to scream, the generator already makes a loud noise notification.

Into the Abyss should probably have a short duration just because Incapacitated is a pretty strong effect. Also, adding Blindness kind of steps onto Third Seals territory and I feel like it should be THE blindness perk if you know what I mean.

  • @Bennett_They1Them said:

My thoughts exactly for the map.

weapon: a cracked diving mask on a chain

power: my thought for the killer would be one who hunts using deep sea pressure to inflict debuffs and gain map awareness.

mori: putting the diving mask over the survivor's head and having it slowly fill with water.

look: partially shredded diving suit covered in chains. respirator releases floating eyes instead of bubbles.

I'll think up some perks later.

Under Pressure: Survivors who miss a skill check while outside of your terror radius gain the Oblivious status effect for 40/50/60 seconds.

Murky Depths: After falling from a great height gain the Undetectable status for 60 seconds or until you injure a survivor. Has a cooldown of 120/110/100 seconds.

Hex: Into the Abyss: After sabotage a hook or completing a generator, survivors suffer from the Incapacitated status for 15/20/25 seconds. Destroying this hex ends all effects caused by this hex.

  • I've always liked the perk Nemisis. I think it's just the Obsession switching that I like so much.

  • I'm imagining one of those old diver suits.

    image.png

Although, I don't think it should be underwater or anything. Maybe at a dock or something.

  • I don't even know how I would submit video evidence of a cheater on console, which I play on. Any idea?

  • Cut my losses and try to find hatch. If I find it and there is still someone else alive, I'll lead them to the hatch to let them know where it is then I'll either go sacrifice myself or hold out until they die.

  • I like it. I might try it out myself at some point.

I dont think its going to happen, but i would love a "real life" fiddle, instead the cartoon one for lol.

Also its the perfect killer for more Crow perks.

Only if party fiddle its an actual skin.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath for him to come in at all.

It would be cool to get more crow Perks. Maybe make them a new kind of perk like Scourge Hooks.

Yes it's a rare, but it literally halfs the time it takes to start a demon dash, that makes oni much more deadly on just about every loop.

Sorry, I misunderstood the topic. I thought it was about the strongest Iridescent add-ons. My bad.

  • @Advorsus said:

Yeah definitely watch his trailer reveal. He wouldn't be hard to create either. But licensing would never allow it sadly.

I agree, I'm not holding my breath waiting for him. It's just an interesting idea of what he'd be like in game. Probably a power revolving around Fear and Crows.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

Fiddlesticks is a goofy character, terrible idea

Are you talking about rework Fiddlesticks or OG Fiddlesticks? I'll agree OG Fiddlesticks is very goofy, but after his rework he became legitimately frightening. Yeah, still a little goofy, but mostly frightening.

  • After watching the entire game I'm pretty certain that was a hacker.

    1. I'm pretty sure I heard all five totems pop, yet Ruin was active the whole game.

    2. There is no way BHVR would make Victor be able to cling onto a survivor that long, even with add-ons.

    3. The add-on the killer used was "Baby Teeth" which causes Blindness when Victor is on you, which you did not get and actually became Oblivious instead.

I don't think I saw the killer get close to you while you were on a gen, so I can't say for sure if they didn't have Unnerving Pressance and because Ruin was up the entire time Oppression wouldn't be able to be used and not sure about Hoarder either.

You did well if it was a hacker. Didn't seem to lose your cool, kept playing, and made it out alive. Good job.

He's definitely horror related. Has a very terrifying trailer reveal and creepy voice.
