New Buckle Up is useless, and its gonna be another low tier survivor perk that nobody is gonna run anymore

Current Buckle Up is perfect for extreme moments of the match, including slugging. They just need to remove the synergy with For The People

Please keep the current Buckle Up as it is

I’m gonna miss using botany and buckle up in the endgame and getting clutch saves. I did it vs a legion which he never expected and I did it vs a twins player which was super satisfying lol

Seems like some of these people either didn't read or started playing the game after patch 6.1.0. (arguably a very killer sided patch) where the devs also thought that by increasing gen speeds was going to make players run other perks.

At this point they could literally make every gen take 5 mins and these people would STILL run the same loadouts, guaranteed.

    It’s a pretty easy solution

just make jean grey dark Phoenix and she can be the next dbd killer. She can wipe out every survivor with her power…

Just curious, where did you find all of this?

We’re heading into our 9th Year! Alongside a brand-new Chapter coming in the 8.0.0 Update, we’ve prepared a large number of balance changes and quality of life improvements for existing content. As always, these adjustments will head to the Public Test Build (PTB) shortly where we’ll collect feedback and make some tweaks…
  • I would run buckle up and botany and when it does get a change to proc it’s so clutch. And since I don’t use “for the people” the killers dont expect it. I actually did it vs a slugging Oni and a twins. Gonna miss that…

The problem is it was just way better than the other options

MFT - 10s for yourself after completing heal action

WGLF - 100% speed on dying survs and 10s endurance on that survivor if you have safe unhooked, taken a hit for someone, or flashlight saved

Soul Guard - 10s endurance whenever picked up every 30s. Unlimited self pick up at basekit speeds vs hex perks.

Buckle Up - While picking someone up both players see the killers aura. When picked up both of you have 10s endurance with no actual cooldown

All the other perks either have a downside or requirement/cooldown and only protect one person. FTP was a problem, but the perk by itself did a little too much.

I think soul guard is actually 8 seconds which I was kind of shocked about lol

  • I guess you technically can still run made for this and wglf to get that same effect so maybe (and I mean maybe) it’s not that bad

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

150% sprint speed for 5 seconds and doesn’t cause exhaustion is insane and very great to negate slugging. This is a very good perk and has some wild synergy potential. I know it’s niche but for example if you pick up a survivor who has background player while a survivor is being picked up by the killer. The survivor you pick up off the ground will sprint at 250% for 5 seconds. That’s faster than Blights fastest speed.

I wouldn’t say it’s very good. The perk was already situational so you might not even get a chance to use it and the effect just isn’t strong enough. I really don’t see why anyone would bring this perk tbh when there are better and more reliable options to get value out of

Before the most recent roadmap, we had a roadmap that showed that Singularity was supposed to get changes in the last midchapter patch.

Now I know that roadmap is very outdated, and the newer roadmap has existed for a long time now, but I was really hoping they just had to delay the Singularity changes a bit because of the Twins rework, so he would receive changes in this patch. He is really in need of some quality of life updates for sure.

I am really hoping he will see some nice changes in the next midchapter patch now.

I’m more so disappointed that they buffed bubba before doing anything for Freddy or Myers. I say bubba because he is a licensed character

    You are being intentionally obtuse.

I pointed out a problem, and the response EVERY TIME, as you can see in this thread is "but average players" etc.

And i'm pointing out that a streamer here, who is clearly biased towards survivor players as you can see if you are even somewhat familiar with them, even says that you MUST take slowdown perks if you aren't playing a top tier killer and when you play the other 30+ killers, you MUST take slowdown perks.

    If i posted tru3ta1ent you'd get a different bias.

I'm just pointing out that someone who often sees things from the survivor point of view is also able to see this which shows that there is probably a problem here.

how is Scott jund biased toward survivor players?

I feel like one thing some people seem to miss is if they make decent survivor perks useless, then survivors will just fall back on gen perks because they, once again, will become the most efficient option. Then the genrush complaints (which I've noticed have died down quite alot over the last several months) will start again. The fact that they've nerfed a few survivor perks but still left them in an appealing and usable state tells me the devs know this. Completely killing a perk isn't the way. And I'm sure the content creator you are talking about knows this, because I'm positive I know who it is and he knows his audience very well. He just says what they want to hear.

nah the content creator doesn’t care about survivor. I agree with what you are saying but the content creator only cares about killer. They thought the twin changes were fine lmao

Honestly, I can't comprehend how someone who has played this game for more than a few hours reads this and goes, "Yes, the perk has been nerfed." A 150% speed boost is STILL an unbelievable amount of safe distance a survivor can have and still get the save, but now the cooldown is 20 seconds? You will be able to spam the perk, even more so if you have Vigil.

This is the most out-of-touch nerf I've seen yet. Not to mention, in the same update, every single valuable gen regression perk was nerfed (Pop, Pain Res, Deadlock, Grim Embrace).

I think it’s too strong with vigil. Even without it, the perk is unhealthy in my opinion

Yeah, I have just seen said content creators reaction. Apparently to this person showing the Killers Aura when healing someone from the Dying state would be enough as a Perk.

yep a completely biased player. Luckily no one takes his community seriously

  • I saw this one content creator (won’t mention his name but you probably know who it is) happy that they removed endurance from buckle up but mad that they gave it 150 speed. Called the devs survivor mains because they nerfed an aspect of the perk but buffed it in another way. Without the 150 the perk would legit do nothing useful.

as for the update im glad wesker got nerfed, i wish background player kept the 40 second cooldown. The rest seems fine

  • @appleas said:

The fact that this combination can work at the start, middle and end game without much repercussions is amazing.

Buckle up was probably designed to counter situations where Survivor A was slugged, Survivor B being injured picks up A and either one gets downed from the Killer nearby.

If the FTP + BU interaction was removed, the usage rate of both perks would see an immediate drop.

I respectively disagree with a lot of your takes, but that's okay. What I will ask, however, is this - Are you a killer main? Cause, a lot of your takes feel like they come from someone who either doesn't, or never has played survivor. Like, most of your takes would make it extremely unfair or unfun to be survivor, and make killer even easier. So, I'm just curious - is this coming from the bias of a killer main, or from someone who plays both?

    yeah their takes are awful

And BHVR actually don’t have the staff to handle it? Because we seem to be at an unprecedented level of issues with the game that they can’t deal with.

You don't see Killers DCing all the time when Survivors do their objectives in the shortest time possible.

It's a very immature, childish attitude to give up at the smallest inconvenience. If you're anticipating that you're gonna lose quickly, what's the big deal? You'll be in a new match in no time at all if you just stick it out and actually try to win anyway. If you do end up losing, who cares? At least it's giving you and your teammates a chance by sticking with it and helping them try to progress their objective.

The Survivor meta is literally a perfect counter to all the things you said you don't like versing. It's actually not a great stance you've taken up. The weaker Killers, even with full slowdown still struggle to get a single kill against Survivors that glue to gens and don't make stupid decisions like throw themselves at a hook. The stronger Killers will still struggle against Survivors that are glued to gens too. Yeah they have more tools to be able to strategize better than the rest of the roster, but they still have to try to compete against insanely quick gens speed. If you play safe against them, it minimises the frequency they can access their slowdown perks (since they're hook related).

Seriously, the entitled behaviour of "I don't like this, I quit" has plagued the community of DBD for years now. The Devs have done nothing to discourage Survivors crying and getting out of their pram. So now it's got to this stage where people justify why they have a childish attitude with the "it's X Killer, so it's fine" or "these perks are boring". If Killers were entitled like that, no one would ever be able to play out a full match.

So, to you, and all bottom Survivors with childish attitudes, if you feel like you are gonna lose, just do your objective. Glue yourself to gens. Chances are you will win or at least give your teammates a win. Instead of quitting and making your team lose because you're a bottom.

“If Killers were entitled like that, no one would ever be able to play out a full match” killers dc too dont get it twisted. Also killers lobby dodge a lot to cherry pick lobbies. You can’t do that as survivor

That is true, my dear friend!

Well, there are many good ideas on this thread.

Here is my concept, OP, if I may share it:

“Death won't accept him and thus he remains, a calamity, indisputable master of his victims' nightmares.”

    Power: Dream Demon

Pull survivors into the Dream World

-Survivors who are awake do not see The Nightmare.

-Once targeted by The Nightmare’s power, survivors enter the Dream Transition for 7 seconds.

-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see The Nightmare intermittently and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.

-When the Dream Transition Lapse, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.

    Once in the Dream World:

-Survivor’s auras are revealed to The Nightmare when they are outside of his terror radius.

-Survivors suffer an action speed penalty of 40%.

-To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find non-sleeping Survivors to perform a wake up action.

-Failed Skill Checks can also wake up.

    -Hooked Survivors wake up.

    Special Ability: Dream Projection

-Teleport to a Generator in view. Releasing the button early will cancel the action.

-Survivors cannot interact with the targeted Generator.

“You have nothing to worry about. This won’t hurt one… little… bit.” -Freddy Krueger

can we trade the 40 percent action penalty for any of his current powers please?😭

The way that every licenced chapter recently has been genuinely awful and End Transmission and All Things Wicked have been the only good content drops this year

I won’t deny that their license stuff has been underwhelming lately. I bought the Alien chapter and I do like playing as xeno and ripley is in my top 10 favorite survivors. Yeah xeno sucks to play vs. chucky chapter was garbage and I didn’t buy him. Nick cage chapter was good. Alan wake I didn’t even know who the hell that even was so I passed on the chapter💀

As for the unlicensed I thought end transmission was just a crappy chapter in general (gave reasons in comment above) and all things wicked I only bought sable and passed on unknown. Didnt look appealing to play and has garbage chase music. Plus seeing it every match made me hate it even more.

Before their anniversary chapters were awesome with silent hill and resident evil 1. Those are 2 of my favorite chapters as I love pyramid head Cheryl Jill nemesis and ofc Claire. I hope they can go back to that level (without the bugs).

with 2 forgettable survivors (seriously I never bought them), with terrible map (garden of joy), with crappy perks and then one obnoxious perk (made for this). The trend of deactivating perks / mechanics when the endgame comes must come to an end.

We've reached the point of denying the use of a perk that was DESIGNED TO WORK ONLY IN ENDGAME with only 1 use (so it have to be above average strength) for a reason I struggle to understand.

The survivor plays 90% of the game with 3 perks, manages to reach the endgame but has the misfortune of being chased and hooked just moments before the last generator is repaired, and what is the reward? We don't activate your perk because no, it's your fault if you get knocked down at the end, now you're on your own.
And don't tell me "eh but do the save first and then do the gen, nothing changes" because no, the scenario is completely different

It's obvious that you are part of a SwF this change has less impact (it's not like before anyway, the nerf is felt here too) because with communication you can try to get around this, but why is the largest player pool in this game always sidelined? Why are we always the fifth wheel?

I've seen a lot of negative feedbacks but despite these, the perk was still nerfed and sent live in this condition, I'm fine that it doesn't counters Freddy anymore and I'm also fine that the speed boost is reduced to 3s but why even disable a perk in endgame when it is only used in endgame?

50/50 players here (SoloQ enjoyer and Nemesis main), so take your moral elsewhere.

I didn’t like that change either. It wouldn’t be so bad if we could see eachothers perks but that will probably be in 2031. I use hope now since you don’t get punished for being hooked as the gen pops. Maybe they will change hope in the future but I pray they don’t

No, that is not a weakness in game design. Complaining about slugging is irrational. We can go into this whole conversation if you would like. There is objectively more to do slugged than on a hook.

Except slugging also strips you of all protections that have been implemented to counter the other playstyle that you skipped over, which is tunnelling, and also permits a playstyle that Pain Res doesn't in camping.

Are you implying a 12 hook game is a rational and balanced for goal against all matches you can come across?

There's a gulf between 12-hook gaming and hard-tunnelling, camping and slugging. And even then, unless you are playing on the absolute highest levels, yes, the game is more balanced for 12-hooking.

We can replace Pain Res with almost any of the other top 10 killer meta perks, so I'm not picking an outlier here

    You actually are.

According to Nightlight right now, the top 10 most used killer perks are: Pain Res, PGTW, Lethal Pursuer, Corrupt Intervention, BBQ & Chili, Nowhere to Hide, Bamboozle, Surge, Sloppy Butcher and Deadlock.

Outside of Pain Res, the ONLY perk in this list that has a condition that isn't 'play the game' is PGTW, and that's only that you need to kick within a certain timeframe. All the others will apply passively as you play the game normally. You picked the -one- perk that has additional restrictions.

And it doesn't help your argument that, even -with- all of these restrictions, it is still sitting pretty as the strongest.

"Deadline" isn't even a perk. I'm not sure what perk you're trying to reference here.

    Pardon?

  • @kosaba11 said:

It's been said, time and again, but a lot of these killers are just unfun to play against, either because their basic design is overpowered, or perks from other killers make them overpowered. For me, personally, I hate, with a burning passion, playing against Twins, Wraith, Deathslinger, Freddy, Doctor, Blight, Dredge, and Chucky. They are so unbelievably unfun to play against.

That's not to say there aren't killers I've never won against that I don't hate facing - like Oni. I can't seem to survive against him, but he's not particularly unfun for me. And Ghostface, the only killer that has actually jumpscared me. Hardly survive against him, but he's not particularly unfun.

Now, I'm not saying they should be nerfed - though I do think some are over tuned and should be looked at, despite what the community feels. Like Wraith. I know he's considered weak by the community, but he's really not.

Anyway, I made this to ask the community which killers ya'll absolutely hate playing against.

the problem with deathslinger is that he was over played because of the tome so he just got annoying quick

"none of your reasons were were valid"

Please elaborate then as to why they're not.

"Lithe isn’t just vault a window and that’s it. You have to use it correctly. You have to loop correctly to use it effectively."

No you don't. It is literally vault.

"The fact that you excuse dead lock is pretty hilarious since the perk
just works passively with no input. I don’t think this perk needs
changes btw it’s just funny how you excuse that perk. "

And how do you interpret what I said as "excusing deadlock"? I quite literally said it is unhealthy design and I would change it. I didn't give it a free pass. Unless you don't see pre dropping all pallets as an issue in design, in which case I don't believe we're playing at the same mmr.

"terminus is not garbage it counters adrenaline (don’t give me the excuse
that it doesn’t counter that speed boost because that’s not what the
killer mains were complaining about with the perk) and keeps everyone
    injured in the endgame. "

Running Terminus in case there's Adrenalines is bad game planning. There's a reason you don't see Terminus in the meta much less basically ever. It's not because it's good..it's because it's bad. There's a reason.

“ pre dropping all pallets as an issue in design” yes that’s an issue if it’s bad maps like the game or badham which should get changes

“If you don’t clearly we aren’t playing in the same mmr” bro trying to sound superior about mmr when matchmaking doesn’t even work so it’s pretty pathetic to use that argument

“And how do you interpret what I said as "excusing deadlock"?

“ So kind of a required unhealthiness at moment unfortunately” there you excused it.

The reason you don’t see terminus is because of no way out is better and because of pop pain res and from embrace being meta. No saying the perk is great but the perk is far from garbage

Same with Killers. Is SM boring and unfun? Personally I dont mind her but obviously others dont like her. Does that make it okay to DC or give up cause someone plays her, or Nurse, or Blight? Not at all, but people still do and defend it cause its "not fun". Don't get why so many people even pkay if they compkain about everything in the game.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Rework - Freddy. His power needs a complete overhaul from the ground up. It's boring, weak, and doesn't even capture the feel of the character. This is reflected by his abysmally low pick rate. An icon like Freddy should be fun to play. But he's got nothing going for him. We know this because the players have been saying it for years. Please listen to the community on this.

Buff - Michael. His power does capture the feel of his character. It just needs some buffs to put him into a more comfortable spot. He's very fun to play which is why he's always had a high pick rate regardless of how many killers have been added over the years, he's always kept himself in the top ten played killers. So don't mess my boy up, Bhvr. Again please listen to the community and give him what he needs without destroying his character.
