I literally just listed all reasons why that isn't true and all the requirements of pain res.
Deadlock is free value and unhealthy design I agree. Problem here is that it's the only counter that exists for survivors just pre dropping pallets that also doesn't have counter play. So kind of a required unhealthiness at moment unfortunately. Ideally in the future when just pre dropping pallets wasn't as lucrative as it is in a coordinated group we could also change this perk.
Terminus is garbage and not even worth mentioning.
Noed is unhealthy design and I would change it as well.
I just gave you tons of in depth reasoning as to why Exhaustion needs changes and you basically just said "no it doesn't".
none of your reasons were were valid. Lithe isn’t just vault a window and that’s it. You have to use it correctly. You have to loop correctly to use it effectively. Just vaulting a window might work against Freddy (he needs a lot of help), that’s not gonna work with all the other strong killers in the game. And it’s not even the best exhaustion perk that’s goes to sprint burst. The fact that you excuse dead lock is pretty hilarious since the perk just works passively with no input. I don’t think this perk needs changes btw it’s just funny how you excuse that perk.
terminus is not garbage it counters adrenaline (don’t give me the excuse that it doesn’t counter that speed boost because that’s not what the killer mains were complaining about with the perk) and keeps everyone injured in the endgame. -
@Sandt1985 said:
Just throwing the idea out there, it would be interesting to have a killer perk that causes permanent exhaustion on a basic attack, but in return, your movement speed is permanently reduced by 5% and can't be raised by any means whatsoever
meh not a fan of that idea. Would anyone run that perk? If so what if the team doesn’t run any exhaustion perks? Sounds like another shattered hope situation

It's to the point to where if your intent is winning there is zero reason you should ever not be running an Exhaustion perk. That statement right there should illustrate in and of itself how over tuned they are if that's a true statement, and it is.
I don't think they're mandatory for competitive survivor success though.
these two statements are contradictory. your saying that the player is throwing the game for not running an exhaustion perk. This is implying that they are mandatory for optimal results.
They all have stacks of restrictions, limitations, skill requirements etc etc. Pain Res for example which is generally considered the best killer perk in the game right now by most people. It requires hooks (skill), have to be on specific hooks (an added rng downside), requires you to hook and not slug (forcing a specific less optimal play style), only works on different survivors (forces a specific non-efficient play style again), and only activates a max of 4 times (a cap on how much value it can give regardless of skill or game length).
I only see pain res and other forms of game-delay as rewards to dynamically extend the game. pain res should honestly be base-kit for killer so I don't need to use a perk slot on it. Tru3 has mentioned that Pain res has one bad design where when you run out of tokens, your disincentives from hooking. He prefers when the perk was unlimited use. The other bad design is having situational hook placement. Just add unnecessary rng where you can lose matches to rng.
My thoughts on exhaustion is that exhaustion perks are anti-tunnel perks with no restriction. they are game-delay perks for survivor to delay killer from killing them. Perks like decisive strike & off the record have conspicuous actions drawbacks while exhaustion perks do not. In practice, survivor would just want to run 4 exhaustion perks much like killer run 4 game-delay perks. In that sense, they do have limited use. Survivor exhaustion do take skill to use but the skill to use them is easy. As a result, the survivor skill is often belittled in my opinion.
On a personal level, the perk that looked the most successful in term of anti-tunneling for me was Made For This. The 3% haste was incredible bonus for me. it allowed me to run killers for a long time. It is the one perk that I feel empowered my chases more then anything else.
corrupt should be basekit. Disagree about pain res

Because OP is probably running 4 Slowdowns or stuff like that and does not want people to see it when OP complains about what Survivors are bringing.
@Topic:
You lost a game. Get over it. Does this happen to you frequently? The answer will most likely be "No". In over 9300 hours of DBD I have encountered Builds like this (including the Perks, Items and a Map Offering) a handful of times. You will probably win most of your games anyway - but once you lose, you complain in this giant Killer Echo Chamber. Nice.
the fact that the perks are covered up says a lot. If this person was running best of prey, predator, nemesis and septic touch I don’t think they would have covered up the build. It was probably 4 slowdown perks

Yeah I've been saying this for years that Exhaustion perks have flown under the radar way over tuned. I don't think they're mandatory for competitive survivor success though. I simply think (generally speaking, there are a couple exceptions) that they're not only over tuned but also unhealthy design. They're just always universally good. There's never a logical reason to not bring them other than just for the funsies.
Grey touches on it a bit but when you look at them perk for perk compared to other perks in the game the amount of value they give just blows everything else out of the water. It's to the point to where if your intent is winning there is zero reason you should ever not be running an Exhaustion perk. That statement right there should illustrate in and of itself how over tuned they are if that's a true statement, and it is.
Then we get to the unhealthy part. We look at meta killer perks and what do most of them all have in common? They all have stacks of restrictions, limitations, skill requirements ect ect.
Was that an exhausting list to go through to get killer meta perk value? Whew
Alright let's look at survivor Exhaustion perks in general. What do "most" of them share? None of any of that.
We'll take Lithe for example since it's the most popular one. Requirement, find a vault…yup..that's it. The things that are literally everywhere. No negative, no skill requirement, no cap on activation's for the game..nothing but a small cooldown for game swinging effects.
I just don't see how anyone that is genuinely impartial and unbiased can look at this and not see a problem or at least a strong double standard in perk design.
pain res you just get for playing normal nothing crazy if you ask me. Also dead lock noed terminus no way out activate without you doing anything. Am I saying those perks need nerfs? Absolutely not. Other than background player, nothing on the survivor side needs nerfs and nothing on the killer side needs nerfs either. Exhaustion is fine

Although I don't care much about BGP, reverting back to 150% wouldn't solve much since it was also very useful at that speed. This perk needs complete rework if killers want survivors to avoid it.
Buckle up and for the people can go.
Blastmine should be buffed in my opinion because it's just a perk to annoy killers and don't have much impact on a match.
Exhaustion perk should be reverted to its original state with DH and BL and recover while running ( just kidding ).
blastmine shouldn’t have that stupid animation they gave it.

Killer would be pretty good if it wasn't for all the cheaters right now. Some of the weaker killers like Clown for example have never been better while others like Freddy have never been worse. It depends on who you play.
Also many of the new killers like Wesker, Xeno, Singu, Good Guy, Unknown are pretty strong. So they are on the right path but cheaters are a big problem right now so you do need to understand that without knowing it you could have played against them coming back to the game.
the cheater problem is ridiculous

Saying these things haven't been fixed kind of implies that they're all problems, which I'm sure you'll agree not everything you listed is.
Like, you not seeing the drone rotate can't be considered a problem with her kit, that's just a player missing a cue and making a mistake. You could have seen the drone rotate, which is part of her design and counterplay, so what exactly is there to fix here?
Similarly, when you talk about her stealth not having any audio cues, it's kind of misleading to not talk about what her stealth is actually balanced with, right? It's not that she's just lacking a downside to her stealth, it's that the downside isn't an audio cue, it's a timer. We could even have a conversation about whether or not the end result is properly balanced, but without acknowledging the fact that they're using a different method to get there, we're never gonna reach any constructive conversation.
For the record, I do agree drone overlap is a problem, for more scenarios than just basement stairs, I'd like to see that adjusted. Similarly, I think her Haste should have more of a visual tell for when a teammate trips a drone mid-chase so you have more information to work with when gauging whether you'll make a resource or not. I agree with those two things being problems, though obviously they're hardly huge ones making her a miserable killer to face, they're just annoyances that should be adjusted.
As an aside, if we're going to conclude that community hate is justified based on her being able to just press M2 at every loop, we must also conclude that Knight and Artist should be hated to at least the same degree, if not moreso because they're better at it than she is.
knight and artist are hated

See you think this is a killer nerf but it would be a buff in reality, you'll eliminate flashlight, firecracker, flashbang and pallet saves by implementing this, also Sabo would be gone, breakout and breakdown would be useless, killer would save time because carrying and hooking would be gone, and the only thing you can think about is you can't proxy camp the hook and make the unhook risky.........I don't want this implemented because while it sounds like it's helping it would hurt survivors
saboteur would only be used for dailies and challenges…. Which I’m fine with tbh

LB is a wasted perk slot if they're not going for that stuff.
Same with Distortion if killer don't have aura-related perks.
Same with Flashbang if killer bring Lightborn
Same with Blastmine if killer don't want to kick gens and relies on gen regression meta.
Same with All totem-revealing perks if killer didn't bring any Hex.
Same with Object of Obsession if killer is Undetectable
Same with Reactive Healing, Resurgence, Solidarity, if killer brings Sloppy and inflicts Hemorrhage
Why are you assuming that one side should have everything granted and other one should take risk with bringing perks that could "waste a perk slot"?
No deliverance if you get hooked first
Most perks do nothing if you get tunneled
No one left behind adrenaline and hope do nothing if you die before the endgame. And now in solo que if your team does the last gen while your on the hook, you won’t get adrenaline
It’s hard to pick a consistent build in as survivor without just running sprint burst windows lithe resilience distortion

meh. End transmission sucked as an anniversary chapter. Didn’t buy any of the characters and made for this was ridiculous. Alien chapter was cool: cool killer and cool survivor. bought both No complaints there as alien is very fun to play. I hate playing vs chucky and didn’t buy him so not a fan of that chapter. And then I only bought sable mainly for her perks. She’s a cool survivor but I don’t play her. And I’m not a fan of playing vs unknown and I didn’t buy him. So in my opinion only 1 good chapter. Im not 100% sure if i remember this correctly but wasnt the reason that they changed ds from 5 to 3 seconds because the usage rate was really high and almost everyone was using it. If so are they gonna have to nerf it again when the usage rate goes up? Cause to me it make no sense reverting a perk to a state you earlier deemed unbalanced.
they changed it because of the usage yes but they made a healthy change by making it not work in the endgame. But the 3 second change was overkill

I'm wondering if the average kill rate is 60%, doesn't that mean that a 2k is technically a loss for the killer and makes their mmr decrease? Since a killer's mmr is based on their performance relative to other killers, not survivors. Oherwise the mmr system wouldn't work, because every killer's mmr would be increasing constantly if a 2k means their mmr stays the same.

I am sure this has been posted on here at some point before BUT, I feel like it would be cool if Legendary Characters were able to get skins of their own or bloody cosmetics.
It is sorta disappointing that Chris and Claire Redfield, two of the most beloved characters in the Resident Evil franchise are relegated to a single skin each because they got added too early as Legendary skins and not their own survivor, survivors are basically just skins anyways, I feel like it should be possible to add additional skins for those characters.
I understand not all characters that have been added as Legendary would have the same potential for additional skins like Chris or Claire, but even so I feel like at least let people have like a bloody variant of the skin if they want. It just is kinda lame that you can wear Chris' BSAA uniform as Felix Richter but not as Chris himself.

I have yet to go against a SM that isn't either the most toxic or stuck in the past 3 genning. I know so many people defend her to the point that I always try in a match now because of it. The issue is like today I have gotten this SM 3 times today, each time she hits everyone on hook until they unhook themselves cause of anti camp… then slugs them tunnels until DC or they give up. I didn't give up.. I gave her a chase the last time that maxed boldness early on… therefore I was bled out.
I absolutely do have a problem with her kit being way overtuned in the most boring ways, but it is absolutely not the character that's the issue for me anymore. it's her players.
yeah and the worst part is her player base does this on purpose. They know she’s hated so they use that to their advantage

the gates should begin regressing if left incomplete, or maybe start the endgame collapse after the 5th gen gets completed, i know this will make no way out too strong so either make the endgame collapse fixed 4 minutes like when a survivor is hooked, or reduce the blocked timer to 30 and activates instantly.
egc is where survivors should feel the most tensed up and have to make a choice of staying behind to help their teammate or dipping out of the there because of the risk.
currently killer is at a disadvantage in endgame if protecting a hook because of the 99 gate, and no egc, giving survivors all the time they need to reset, making the killer desperate. but if egc started right away there would be no point in 99 and opening the opportunity for perks such as bloodwarden to come into play.
in conclusion either activate egc after last gen with 4 minutes or make 99 the gates regress

Skull Merchant isn't invincible in Solo Queue, far from it. As long as the whole team doesn't give up, there is a chance.
The problem is that many players give up as soon as they see her, like this Meg did, and they don't even try. That is the only reason why her kill rates are high.

I recently came across a video on twitter that showcased a tweet from the official DBD twitter that was responding to Twitch streamer/YouTube content creator 'The King's' tweet asking his followers "If you could ask the DBD Devs one serious question, what would it be?!"
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DPQZWZFAXRYW/image.png
A user responded to his tweet with a series of questions they would like the devs to answer. One question in particular that was asked was "Are there plans to add more prestige rewards?" The DBD twitter account responded with the following:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1JQRWDVNYVLX/image.png
Obviously this tweet did not sit well with the community, for good reason, and the tweet was flooded with negativity and criticism. Below is just a small portion of how people responded.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B9C98ZCG4D4E/image.png
Circling back to what prompted my forum post to be made in the first place, the video that I watched was a compilation video of all the things that people did actually miss out on and can no longer be obtained in-game (mainly cosmetics). Here is a link to watch that video on twitter:
https://twitter.com/Felbane_/status/1777821991845646375
My question for the devs would be "Is this really about FOMO, or does this relate to not making money?" Listen I get BHVR is a company and money has to be made to appease the higherups. But when it comes to keeping your existing playerbase around and to keep them spending money on DLC and cosmetics in the store, wouldn't it make sense to add ways for players to get free things for their time and effort of say reaching Prestige level 100? During that P100 grind, most likely a player would spend real money on cosmetics from the store after their main character got a collection drop. Not saying this is a guarantee for every player, but a large majority of the playerbase will spend money on cosmetics for the character they are currently trying to prestige to 100.
Conclusion: I honestly think the FOMO mindset that the devs have is not real and whoever wrote that tweet was obviously trying very hard to make it sound like the devs want to be fair with it's players when it comes to free items. The tweet would've actually worked, if it wasn't for the fact that the devs have already done FOMO things. Legacy cosmetics/portraits, premium rift outfits from previous rifts are still not in the store, content creator specific cosmetics are no longer available (ex: Nea hype, H20 Trapper Mask, etc.), all of these are no longer available for the average person to get (unless they hack them in). I am not fully against FOMO. I think it's cool to have things that you have but others don't, it makes the item more special to the player that has it. But to tweet saying that you're against FOMO, yet the game has had FOMO instances or currently still does these FOMO related things it makes no sense. You can't go back and forth like this, especially to a dedicated community like DBD. I highly encourage the devs to rethink their decision on adding prestige rewards for reaching higher prestiged ranks. And if this has to do with management not approving more prestige rewards because it won't make more money, I encourage them to also rethink their decision because it will ultimately help keep the playerbase active and the majority of people will keep spending money on cosmetics and battle-passes when they are trying to get those free things.
yeah. Their p100 reward answer is embarrassing. They have no problem with fomo if they can make some cash. But it seems like they don’t care about their veteran players since they can’t even give us a banner or something

I don't mind it at all, I think the issues for survivor are that the middle may be full of pallets but they are either slightly unsafe to very unsafe fillers.
The issue I have is the premise of the thread - solo randoms pretty much always do the top gen or the far gen in the other corner creating an inevitable nightmare late game where you only have mid gens with nothing but unsafe pallets to play around.
If survivors played this map right for once the map would be rough for killers to pressure without resorting to only patrolling mid to force a 3 gen
I agree about the gen in main. I always try to do the ones near the unsafe pallets. But again the pallets are terrible on that map
