Could you specify, what exactly is so unbearable in solo queue right now? Since there are so many threads, it should be easy to pinpoint.

Lets say, whats worse, compared to... lets say 2020?

While the hud has helped, matchmaking honestly has gotten worse in my games. Not to mention tunneling is just way too strong especially with ds being garbage

Nah, that's not what I mean

The people ask about after unhooking, the survivor is healty with adrenaline, it's that I think who gonna be deleted

Survivor gonna be healed with the 150% speed boost, but if he got hooked before and the endgame start, the healing effect (and speed maybe) don't activate

So you get to the endgame you get hooked but you not dead yet, what does adrenaline do then when your unhooked? If your telling me it does nothing them km sorry thats a terrible change

  • Bro is talking about “handholding” when they have been buffing alot of killers lately. I bet you were one of those that said that the survivor hud was “handholding” as well

The perk is on the list to get a change in Mar/April. And Adrenaline is strong but fine, so its no way it will get a buff. Which mean it will get a nerf.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TKKGR4C4WVZ1/image.png

I really hope they dont remove the ability to heal after getting unhooked. That would mean even if you get to the endgame the perk is just dead💀. Hopefully the nerf is just that it doesnt wake you up from the dream world

Idk who paid you to say all of that but Gen Regresssion has been consistently powerful even after Eruption nerfs.

Yeah that bait wasnt any good lol

Personally there's no worse feeling than playing killer and being sent to Gideon, and I would imagine survivors hate being sent to Lery's VS Scratched Mirror Mike. The map offering is mostly a troll tool and I personally hate it. Even when I'm survivor, seeing another survivor try to ruin the killer's day makes me root for the killer.

I would like to see offering that dont send you to a specific map that you hate. I would be spamming swamp offerings to avoid it

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/405727/survivors-are-keep-getting-garbage-content

What content exactly are you expecting? Survivors are all just skins and just add perks. I wouldn't even agree that perks are "content" because realistically, they could easily add a half dozen perks every week if they really wanted to since they are really just simple modifiers most of the time.

The "content" that survivors get, is new killers to play against.

You mention perks not being "viable" so in that realm, then all the killers you just mentioned also are not viable either at a high level, so killers have gotten 0 content too.

Chucky xeno and billy are very strong what are you talking about?

I don't understand where the issue is with mangled. It's a non problematic status effect that is now being time limited for seemingly no reason. No haemorrhage being the reason is not valid either as that is the whole point of Sloppy Butcher.

The problem in my opinion was hemorrhage not mangled

I’m not sure if they were trolling or just don’t know in regards to the pig “buffs.” She is, objectively, right now a better character than she will be after the patch. The slowdown/threat of a headpop is the best thing pig has, and it’s being severely nerfed

Meanwhile they are buffing the worst part of her kit, which is still counterable by predropping and running away from the loop. Huge L for Pig.

Its a buff to her chase power and you still have the slow down. I dont see the problem

There is a very small minority of people who will tell you that Rip, Wake, Gabe, even Renato and Thalita, etc. all had worthwhile perks that are “top tier,” when we’re all well aware these perks are nothing short of completely useless in a 4v1 against the buffed Killer trend you’ll be facing (or rather 3v1 after the first pawn is mercilessly Tunneled to a quick death), all w ‘4K or it’s a loss’ on the brain, driving the match.

Nobody uses this trash and escapes consistently.

Killer mains who hop onto their low MMR Survivor match once in a violet moon will be the first to try to sell you on these perks having any use. No big secret,🤫they don’t want Survivors getting anything useful that may become a threat to them.

I’m no Killer God, hardly even mid; but I hold my own without needing Survivors having weak perks to prevent my matches from menacing encounters vs them.

I agree other than background player, none of the perks recently have been any good. They are just very mid. It is funny seeing people saying how perks like lightfooted and troubleshooter are good💀

  • @WolfyWood said:

    Genuine question.

No maps being changed for survivors.

    No meaningful perk buffs coming.

No new mechanics that benefit survivors.

No limited game-modes or events that are beneficial to survivors.

    No solo-queue changes.

Seems like the only thing survivors can get excited about are skins these days.

If I'm wrong please correct me. But being a survivor main is rough.

How are we feeling about the role?

Yeah but the fact that killers dont even see it as a threat just shows how much of a joke the perk is. It just needs a longer stun, thats it

An Era is something that historians typically use to categorize time periods and events to make them easier understand. China was known for their Dynasties, sets of rulers contained with a set of bloodlines or families. USA was known for their various revolution and territorial expansions. They have a clearly defined way of expressing each era.

Why am I giving a basic history lesson?

Well, Dead by Daylight is known for its shifting meta, events, and vast array of changes, all of which can be divided into eras. Since DBD does not have the most clearly defined eras compared to actual historic events, I think it is important that context and clarification is included.

What is your favorite era of DBD/DBD Forums?

Mine was the early days of Patch 6.1.0 where everyone was trying to figure out what the new meta would be.

Either when afk pig was being defended by someone people or when there was outrage over someone asking the devs to give feng a crop top outfit

This is nowhere an unpopular discussion and for a good reason. The fact that it’s not on their 2024 roadmap is actually insane considering how broken that combo is and I do not throw out that word lightly.

I’m sure 90+% of people here would agree with me since usually people are reasonable and this combo is very problematic but I really like to hear a louder demand from players of both sides for the devs to acknowledge and say that they’ll address the issue.

I’ve observed that this is a very argumentative community but I don’t see a way someone could have something to object my topic. Killers shouldn’t have to worry about more second chances on top of whatever the survivor they’re chasing has equipped. And of course needless to say this is even worse with swfs.

I’m excited to see y’all speak up on the issue and listen to the ideas y’all might have as to how the perks could be reworked so they wouldn’t synergies.

    ❤️

All these perks need is to lose synergy. But buckle up itself i think is fine and for the people no one really complained about that perk by itself

Okay, so just stack slowdown and tunnel if winning is your only goal.

I really don't see what your issue is. You lose a match every hundred games, it's not a big deal. I get it, it sucks when you feel like you haven't been outplayed but rather have just been put into an instant loss.

Guess what, those last hundred games you tunneled, proxy'd and run four slowdowns? I bet those people thought the same thing, but your response would likely be that it's a skill issue for them, but somehow it isn't for you.

Yeah its a player issue at that point

like first you tunnel every game with 4 slow downs and win most of your games. But the moment you lose one game its all complaints from there.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I don't get it. I can understand someone disliking killers that have anti-loop and take low skill to pull off, but there are lot of killers like that so... why just SM? I can understand that new players or returning players might not get fully how SM power works, but regular players who play almost daily and are active on social media, follow patch notes, etc.? I understand you might think she looks lazy or lame desing but why just hate it on her?

I don't get it. She feels no rly different than your avarage loop counter killer. She is not A+ killer with very strong power. Like sure we all dislike some killers but this seems like ridicilous at this point, such hate on her. She isn't even popular killer. You may see one in every +30 games.

"her power is complicated" - how? why? She places drone and gets stealthy for few seconds, if you get tagged 3x times you get injured or mended and she can see your location on radar. She can slow you down if you got tagged 3+ times. She gets small haste for each tracked target and scaning you marks you on her radar for few seconds. That's IT. THAT'S the whole power. Is THAT really that hard and sooo unthinkable as power? I really don't get it. There are far more complex killers and I don't see social media flooded with hating on them either.

Because of her past form being so recent. I still remember right before her changes i was getting a lot of skull merchants taking advantage of her 3 gen before it was gone. Very fun. As for her right now, she is so boring to play vs. you in chase with her and you slow down, she speeds up, you get injured just because of a drone. Very fun.

also her chapter was the worst ever in this game. She has a stupid look, useless perks and just a power that plays the game for you.

people that player her know what they are doing. They know that she is hated so it pretty hilarious when they say “geez idk why survivors dont like my killer? Why doesnt anyone want to play vs my killer”

What you just said applies to killer, though. Playing against a 4 man SWF absolutely makes killer feel like a chore/community service.

that can really be applied to killers as well. Yet you dont see me asking them to nerfed to where the game is miserable for them. Actually make reasonable suggestions like nerfing toolboxes or asking for a basekit corrupt intervention. Bvhr is never gonna nerf swf because they want more players playing their game. So its not a good suggestion anyway.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3650033#Comment_3650033

Why couldn’t they apply a debuff of some kind to a 4 stack?

Because bhvr wants more people playing their game, not less. Nerfing or removing swf would just turn people away from the game. From a business perspective it makes 0 sense to do that

So you believe that skull merchant is the best killer in the game and that nurse is one of the worst?

No one believes that. But i believe the game isn’t massively survivor sided like you do (since you always complain about it). If the stats showed 80 percent escape rate you would be backing up those stats.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3650329#Comment_3650329

No, i'm just pointing out that the official stats should basically be ignored because they are useless. I will however continue to use them to point out the obvious logical fallacy they create for people who believe that the game should be balanced around average players when i point out how ridiculously OP survivors are at the highest level such that tournaments need to restrict their perk loadouts significantly more than killers (where they just remove ones like myers tomestone) due to how broken they can be.

Then people say: "but we shouldn't balance around those players, only around average level players" To which i now get to point to these official stats and ask where my nurse buffs are, because official stats around the "Average level" players show that nurse is one of the worst killers in the game.

”stats should be ignored” yeah because they dont fit your narrative. If it showed that killers were barley killing anyone you would back up the stats

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3650112#Comment_3650112

I learned. I didn’t start the game knowing what I was doing, and it took many losses to get good. I don’t think asking a playerbase to learn a game they supposedly like is some huge thing. Balancing around bad players is a slap in the face to people who have played and supported BHVRs game.

“it took many losses to get good” with the way you constantly complain about how killer is impossible, you probably cant take A loss at all.

    Developer Update | Stats!

    By PeanitsLast Updated: 2:55 pm

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LJJMUEZMMOTV/developer-update-totem-new.png

Since we’ve started regularly sharing stats last year, we’ve received various requests for different kinds of data you would like to see. On top of the usual statistics we share, we’ve selected a few of the most requested topics to share with you today.

Before we dive in, we would like to remind everyone that while data may be fun to talk about, it does not paint a full picture. The numbers we’ll be sharing are very broad, covering millions of matches played all around the world, so the numbers may not reflect your personal experiences. We encourage you to have fun discussing this info, but please try not to draw any conclusions from data alone! It’s important to dig deeper understand the context behind the numbers you see; even we don’t make decisions based on data on its own.

    Popular Perks

Starting things off, here’s an update to the 10 most popular Perks for each role! The percentage listed next to each Perk indicates their usage rate- in other words, the likelihood that someone will have it in their loadout. Arrows indicate if the Perk has moved up or down the list since we last shared stats, while a line shows that they remained in the same spot.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WDZWY9ARPAX6/survivor-perks.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3X3G7ALPLKL4/killer-perks.png

    Popular Killers

Like Perks, we’ve also tallied up the 10 most popular Killers over the past month. The number below represent the percentage of all matches where that given Killer was played, with the arrows and lines again indicating how they have changed in popularity since we last shared this data.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NUNC1K13571B/ca-642-dbd-0923-evergreen-killer-rankings-zodiac.png

Beyond the top 10, the pick rates are as follows (in descending popularity). For the sake of simplicity, we have rounded these numbers to the nearest whole percent.

    • Doctor: 4%
    • Deathslinger: 3%
    • Spirit: 3%
    • Nemesis: 3%
    • Trickster: 3%
    • Clown: 3%
    • Oni: 3%
    • Xenomorph: 3%
    • Hillbilly: 2%
    • Plague: 2%
    • Onryo: 2%
    • Executioner: 2%
    • Demogorgon: 2%
    • Cannibal: 2%
    • Cenobite: 2%
    • Skull Merchant: 2%
    • Pig: 2%
    • Dredge: 2%
    • Artist: 1%
    • Hag: 1%
    • Nightmare: 1%
    • Singularity: 1%
    • Twins: 1%

    Deadliest Killers

Who spilled the most blood last month? Many of you wanted to know, so we’ve gathered the data to share with you this time around. The numbers below are the percentage of all Survivors who are killed when facing that Killer. For example, a 50% kill rate would mean they kill two Survivors per match on average. We try to keep Killers near a 60% kill rate on average to keep matches relatively even and support the horror theme of the game, where the Killer is a force to be reckoned with and the survival is not guaranteed.

We’d like to remind you again that this data covers millions of matches across all skill levels. Some Killers may be stronger when mastered, but less powerful in the hands of someone less experienced. (Yes, a good Nurse is much scarier!)

Kill rates do not include matches where a disconnect takes place.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LZ950UTSPJE7/ca-642-dbd-0923-evergreen-deadliest-killers.png

Beyond the top 10, the standing look like this:

    • Executioner: 60%
    • Hag: 60%
    • Artist: 60%
    • Xenomorph: 59%
    • Blight: 59%
    • Wraith: 59%
    • Nemesis: 59%
    • Legion: 58%
    • Good Guy: 58%
    • Twins: 58%
    • Oni: 58%
    • Cannibal: 58%
    • Clown: 58%
    • Deathslinger: 57%
    • Trapper: 57%
    • Trickster: 57%
    • Demogorgon: 57%
    • Singularity: 56%
    • Huntress: 56%
    • Ghost Face: 56%
    • Nurse: 55%
    • Hillbilly: 54%
    • Doctor: 51%
    • Overall Average: 58.50%

    Survival Rate in Groups

Last but certainly not least, many of you were curious about a Survivor’s odds of escaping depending on if they’re flying solo or playing with friends. In this case, a higher survival rate would mean that a Survivor is escaping more. We’ve also included the survival rates for high MMR Survivors as well for those who are curious.

One last time, we’d like to remind you that these numbers do not paint a full picture. For instance, a group of friends may be more coordinated, but they might also be more willing to sacrifice themselves in an attempt to save their friends.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NENM9X765MUV/dbd-swf-stats-jan-2024.png

That’s all for this time! We’d like to continue sharing statistics like these with you in the future. If there’s something else that you’re curious about, be sure to let us know!

    Until next time…

    The Dead by Daylight team

    Thank you for the stats!

Well, that's just not really true at all

What do you expect from someone that always complains on the forums

  • @woundcowboy said:

I’ve been playing this game since 2018 and have close to 5000 hours total. I recently returned after break, and man has the fun been sucked out.

It doesn’t matter if your chases are short. Unless you pick a section of the map to defend right at the beginning, you are going to lose if they decide to do the gens. Then there’s the killers. I tried xeno for the first time and it was an awful experience. A large chunk of its power is controlled by survivors and the tail requires pinpoint precision, meanwhile survivors get to plop down a turret whenever they feel like it. On top of that, a huge amount of loops don’t even let you use the power because they are too high.

This game’s problem is the same that it has always been: survivors have too many resources and second chances, on top of chained tiles and safe pallets. I legitimately don’t understand how anyone says that killer is easy. It was significantly easier when I started playing because even though survivors had major dirt, killer stuff could at least come close to matching it. Now every killer has been neutered to oblivion in the name of survivor fun.

This game needs to be balanced as a 1v4. Individual survivors hold far too much power for most killers to handle. It feels damn near impossible to win with certain killers and rng spawns.

You wont be happy until you win all your games with ease at this point

  • @jesterkind said:

Whenever a thread about tunnelling comes up, usually from the perspective of acknowledging it as a problem and attempting to come up with a fix, there's a particular rhetorical trick that some people will use. I have some issues with this trick, and I'd like to lay out why I think it's misleading and unhelpful.

The trick is the following: Someone will liken tunnelling a survivor out to genrushing, and refer to it as "tunnelling gens", to claim both sides are capable of playing their objective very efficiently but people only care when a killer does it. I think this is kind of silly, because that's obviously not what "tunnelling gens" would actually be if and when any survivors did it.

To break down why, let's define what it means for the killer to tunnel for a moment. Tunnelling, to me, is defined as the following: A killer chasing a recently unhooked survivor while ignoring everyone else, with the intent of getting that survivor sacrificed as quickly as possible. In other words, the killer is focusing on one of four objectives to the detriment of others.

The killer's objective is the survivors, and the survivors' objective is the generators. Therefore, if the survivors were to "tunnel" a generator, they would be focusing on that generator, to the detriment of others. If any survivors actually tried this, it would be extremely easy for the killer to capitalise on it. It's definitely not genrushing, which is doing all their objectives as fast as possible with the aid of the strongest tools available.

The killer equivalent of genrushing isn't tunnelling, either. It'd be playing to all their objectives as quickly as possible-- IE, it'd be spreading pressure and chewing through the whole team's hook states as quickly as possible, not just one survivor's. As you can imagine, this doesn't really exist as a realistic strategy or even reliable outcome, much in the same way that survivors "tunnelling gens" doesn't exist as a strategy. In the killer's case, it's playing extremely extremely well, and in the survivor's it'd be just throwing the match. Opposites, but equal and contrasted with one another.

I see tunneling gens as in survivors completing that same gen over and over again. Obviously that doesn’t exist

Hi I’ve been playing DBD since the clown release. I would like to state that the introduction to the endgame counter was a wonderful step in the right direction bc survivors were holding the game hostage on the killers side after completing their objective, and just staying to farm the killer they dusted. EGC has been wonderful introduction for a healthier game, however with the new endgame and kill rates for solo mostly resulting in a weird standoff between two survivors and the killer with likely hood of both dying anyways or mercy hatch or gate. Just take the hatch and gate away if there’s 2-3 gens left and only 2 survivors. The outcome is basically cemented and everyone involved doesn’t like it, so unless it’s like 2 left with a single gen to go just sacrifice the survivors to the entity like in endgame counter or something , I wish to die without adding more time to my most likely inevitable death.

Maybe I’m alone in this but we didn’t complete the objective and the hatch just feels like a cheap get out of jail free card at the expense of two others involved.

Almost the only time 2 people are still making progress towards getting out is when I’m in duo and we work on the same gen and have an understood agreement whichever one the killer picks to chase is who bears the burden. When solo though it’s mostly just me on a gen, then getting found, and then in farming out the remainder lives or slugged till they find the other, and if they're feeling nice they’ll give someone hatch.

Anyways it just doesn’t feel good all around I’m sure, and killers are right most of the time at least one of the survivors are hiding it out. So can we just have a mercy out for 2 plus gens with 2 survivors remaining, and call it killers favor idc. They beat us, they win. Let’s not make it awkward.

Maybe if you try this survivors will try harder to work together to get all the gens done bc it’s their only way out, and it will stop all the selfish solo survivor moves just waiting for hatch and encourage teamwork instead for solo.

Could be a dumb idea. I know it throws killers a bone(sue me), but it also throws solo q’s a bone too in a reverse psychology kind of way bc there’s no freebie, they have to work together for a common goal, to get that gate after gen completion. If there’s one survivor left with like 1 gen to do or something just put the timer on that instead to get the gen done and get out so the game can’t be held hostage. Balance from there if you must.

    No thank you

This is just another tier list that’s not relevant for the vast majority of the players. Nurse is not S tier for most players, and isn’t even S tier for the top 5%.

Why do we even bother having tier lists for 6000+ hour comp games, that use special comp rules, and aren't even remotely like public DBD matches?

I can't see anything. I don't know how the hell killers are able to chase me when I play survivor, unless the visibility is a lot better on PC than on console, because I sure as hell can't chase survivors as killer. I felt a lot blinder as killer than as survivor in Lights Out mode.

Well it depends what killer you play. I have played wraith in that mode and its really easy since he is always close to the survivor. I can see how someone like huntress would struggle since she needs to aim

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

I've only been playing lights out.

I don't have to deal with survivors pre-leaving generators at the first hint of a visual terror radius. And with the limited map vision, it's much harder for SWFs to use voice comms to warn each other of which direction I'm going.

Oh yeah i know killer players are super ecstatic about this new mode
