What about Counterforce do you not like? It is niche for sure but it does it's niche very well when cleansing all totems in a match

Does nothing unless you make a totem build and looking for totems is essentially throwing the game and wasting time. The perk should do something completely different

I was about to say too. Counterforce destroys Plaything + Pentimento builds.

That would be useful if I saw the killer had petimento before hand

Very briefly about me: I've been playing DBD since 2017, both Killer and Survivor (but more recently Survivor). I haven't played DBD for half a year, but I continued to follow the discussions in the forum. Therefore I would like to give my two cents on the current balancing and would like to hear your opinions on it...

In the meantime there have been a number of very good changes (e.g. anti-3-gen mechanics, basekit Shadowborn) which I welcome, but the real core problem still remains - map balancing and MMR. When I play killers, I usually play killers that you would consider low tier and I always try to play chilled. But despite my years of experience with M1 killers, I still have the problem that the gens fly too quickly. Why is it? The survivors I get, whether mediocre or very good, literally stick to the gens. I'm often happy if I barely get 2 kills (when I'm playing soft). I rarely play killers like Nurse and Blight because I find them too strong in places. The only non-A tier killers that I get 4 kills with very often are Dredge and Artist. Simple M1 killers like Doctor or Trapper, for example, usually fail because of the map design. But it's actually a shame because I don't like sweating every single game. I'd rather lose than tunnel or camp people. But if I lose 10 rounds in a row, I start to play sweatier at some point. And when that point is reached, I take the next killer break again. That's how I've always handled it.

When I play Survivor, I feel like I'm only matched with people who have only been playing DBD for 10 hours. Gens are not done, the chases rarely last longer than 20 seconds. I don't do that to myself anymore.

I still miss the old rank based matchmaking. Compared to today's hockey system, it was perfect for me. I'm just saying Purple Ranks. This was the place where I felt comfortable and had dozens of relaxed rounds of fun among other players.

After I started with DBD again and wanted to test the doctor's little buffs, I was immediately matched with a top tournament SWF from my country who had already won countless tournaments and consists of 24/7 professional streamers. But I don't think I should be matched against people like that. I don't want to play in comp mode. And unfortunately, such teams are no exception for me. But for me DBD is not a comp game, even if many people want it to be.

But please don't get me wrong, this is not intended to be a complaint thread. I just want to share my thoughts on the current situation and would appreciate your views. There have definitely been a lot of good changes recently that I'm really happy about. And good changes continue to come, even if unfortunately it sometimes takes a long time.

Thanks for reading and feel free to share your opinions.

P.s.: I apologize for any grammatical errors. I am not a native speaker.

I agree with everything you said, i dont know how bhvr can change matchmaking to make it super accurate tho. Well at least you got the feng crop top lol

OK... but that's your loss. You're focusing on the hyper specific scenario where you can make a big play, rather than the subdued more consistently useful and reliable part of the perk.

The aura read off any hook is actually great for anti-tunnel, because you can ensure you aren't caught out by the killer coming back to hook; you can know for sure whether you have time to heal or not, and immediately abandon it if the killers starts to come for you AND know exactly which way to go.

Especially when combined with OTR, you can basically near guarantee you make safety and signfiicantly increase your chances to slip away undetected.

I dont think the aura reading is worth a perk slot. You’re better off bringing just off the record or dead hard. A key with blood amber is better. The only reason why this perk even gets play is because of the basement unhook. No one cares about the aura reading. If it didnt have the basement unhook part, the perk wouldnt get any play

What are talking about? Making it super obvious that's what's you're trying to do, to make a play that gives you and your team more time... and you blame the killer for not falling for it? XD

That's just silly... the killer is better leaving you down there, cause you're not on gens, and someone else has to go IN BASEMENT to save you. That's a potential 2 in 1...

And niche!? The perk is an awesome perk without the basement guaranteed Kobe... 20s aura read off hook? Thats anti-tunnel wall hacks and guaranteed under hook heals... just run it normally and then use if you get put in basement.

Why are you trying to force it and giving the killer super obvious tells? You can't ask a killer to play dumb so that you can pull off a silly strategy... come on now xD

the aura reading part of the perk no one cares about, its the unhook part that people like.

I'm still waiting for you to brag about all the things you avoid doing when you play survivor, that you do for the sake of killer fun.

I had a farming bubba yesterday and he tried to let me live and yet i leg entity kill me and he was pretty sad that he stood at corner….

Dark Sense: Permanently see the killers aura while standing in the gates. This will help SoloQ coordinate assistance to whoever is in a chase.

Premonition: pinpoint the range to 30° instead of 45°.

Resilience: Increase the action speed buff to 6/9/12% but make it so the survivor can’t 99% a heal. Should be an actual risk.

SpineChill: Revert the nerf. Killers have so much aura reading these days, they’ll be fine if it was reverted.

Bitter Murmur: Add on an increase to movement Speed for 10 seconds maybe? Helps low mobility killers.

Deerstalker: it should also permanently reveal the aura of the survivor if they’re the only one left.

NOED: All survivors die if the totem is cleansed 👹👹👹

I think current dark sense is much more helpful tbh. Premonition needs a rework the perk sucks

So BHVR nerfs and buffs perks all the time most times that being personal perks but what about universal what is a universal perks you feel should get an adjustment either a total change all together or just a slight tweak because you think that perk deserves some love.

I think both sides need some buffs to general perks. How can they buff them? Im not sure

  • The achievement should just be to mori 4 survivors with tombstone just not in a single trial tho. That would eliminate those scenarios

    Terminator and Sarah Connor

Since the game has opened up to science fiction, there have been more and more sci-fi killers. Singularity, Skull Merchant, Alien. I can see a Terminator chapter fitting in.

As far as bread crumbs left by the devs, it's possible, in my opinion, that the Blood Moon event is hinting at it. Looking at the main menu lobby screen, the skulls piled up on the wet rocky ground are very similar to the intro of the Terminator movie. In the movie, there are human skulls piled up on a rocky beach.

What about all the red? Well, in the movie we can see through the terminator's point of view. Everything it sees is colored red.

Tell me why I'm wrong, so others can give you upvotes! 😁

I hope its a good chapter. Its an anniversary chapter it should be special. Silent hill and resident evil 1 qualify as that. The last two anniversary chapters were terrible in my opinion. If they werent anniversary Chapters then it wouldnt be as bad but those chapter were just so underwhelming considering that it was their anniversary chapter. Lets hope for a good anniversary!

I play both sides and hate both "gen rushing" and "tunneling" most than anything in this game. Both can be "justified" as effective (true) and fair (sometimes the case) but honestly it is just frustrating as hell like in this event to go for a match and get LOTS like these

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/08M52MF2XKGA/20240319194752-1.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/I5F3KPE2C4IZ/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NAH7S4HC7KCS/20240318202647-1.jpg

In the first capture, the Clown had all on his favor and his one Pain Res followed by the tunnel was enough to trash the whole match.

On the second one, it was also a Clown with Pain Res and we made it out at the end but still was a long game of him patrolling the remaining 3 gens and the 3 only survivors persisting by resetting everytime to deny him further Pain Res + Tunnel. Far from a enjoyable match at all.

The last one was the worst because the Unknown also had Pain Res and evewn though we spread on gens while he obsessed over his target, it was not worth crap in the end since he still had 3 stacks of Pain Res to use and thus our attempts to defend the survivor dead on hook were more also punished.

For the person being tunneled, it is either a game of "well I guess I'll die" / seeing the gens fly while you hold the killer and still die with no points on anything other than boldness / run the killer for as long as you can but no gens are done and you have the sour taste of seeing them get a 4k anyways.

When I'm playing killer I enjoy taking multiple chases and changing targets regularly but I also recognize this sometimes results into gens flying and little to no kills. Even worse thanks to the way MMR works now which will lead to matches that get more and more frustrating with time.

On a survivor perspective, it is just bullshit trying to go on a match during an event and having to play all of them as if in a stupid comp scenario and I am decided to just stop playing unless I have challenges available.

On a killer perspective, I guess it would be more appealing if there were more incentives to really spread the chases/pressure rather than going the easy route of kill 1 as fast as possible then destroy the remaining survivors by getting them tired of doing the same generator 5 times thanks to pain res + pop + whatever.

Damn clown in back 2 back games?

  • I got 100k in a couple of games but yeah the offerings being kill switched dont help

Lol if I'm ever in the mood to troll that's how I do it, it's too obvious when everyone is empty handed that it's about to happen. It's extremely rare all 4 survivors have nothing going into the trial so if you reverse that mindset you have them running useless perks it's way more effective that way

I might try that out lol, good idea

  • @TieBreaker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3677861#Comment_3677861

Yeah, they consider it BM because they don't take a moment to consider why someone might be doing it. Everyone has a desire to let their negativity and aggro out and people will look for any excuse for it.

Example: Survivor brings flashlight - The survivor obviously wants to grief me for the entire match and make my experience miserable, so I'm going to make them miserable. Maybe they have a challenge? Nope. They're just toxic.

I had made a thread the day before about “chemical trap and champion of light” stacking and i said i would try to use this combo. Killer brings lightborn then thats a perk slot wasted and an item wasted. Wasnt trying to bm the killer and anyone that watched the video can see i didnt flashlight click or tbag. I didnt even try to get its attention. Yeah maybe i should have used a different character to avoid p100 lobby dodging but claire is the one with all the flash lights

i get back then quick switching into a key was toxic because of old hatch

  • @The_Krapper said:

See you did it backwards, what you do is start with all flashlights then quick switch to no flashlights so the entire build is based around defending flashlights lol

Thing is im not really a flashlight save type player and i only used them to try the build out. Thats a funny mindgame tho

  • Because of p100 lobby dodging and im tired of lightborn. I didnt even bring a sweaty build too

  • @Zenislev said:

Quick switching at all shouldn't be a thing, so yes. Survivors should be locked into their builds during the last 15 seconds of the countdown.

Once they get rid of lobby dodging, sure

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/408177/what-did-i-do-to-deserve-that

I don't think you have to find the reason by you but by the killerplayer. Tunnling is very easy when you don't have any perk against it or teammates that can protect you. The hit on the hook could be something else instead of a bm (misunderstanding you think it was bm but the killer did it for another reason). So the player tunnels not because of you but because jt was easy to do it. Maybe - another theory - their matches before were miserable and the player was angry about it and decided that you have to suffer for that. It also could be that the player always plays like this (some players like it when the otherside suffers).

The last second switch is okay. You switched to another survivor with flashlight. It could be a different story when all four survivors did a last second switch to a survivor with strong item and compoutfits.

However, I guess it is the best to move on and not to waste time on a miserable experience. Sometimes situations like these happen - in very game - but this does not mean every match will be the same or every killer is like this Billyplayer.

Also good chase from you (the sneaky part around the junglegym was nice to see) and fun build!

I could have played better if i just predropped the other pallets but i didnt want to because i find that boring. And also if i knew he had lightborn then i would have gained some distance. Also thank you!

  • @Rudjohns said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3677429#Comment_3677429

    Yes they did, twice actually

First nerf removed the 80% speed for opening chest when healthy, now it only works if injured. Also removed a guaranteed emergency medkit when opening the first chest, now it only gives medkits when injured, which means your only chance to use the perk is if your teammates didn't loot all the chests in the game

Then they nerfed medkits and healing altogether. Now finding an "emergency medkit (green medkit)" means nothing since it just heals at the same speed as any other medkit.

So in the end, to use Pharmacy you need:

    -To be injured

-Find a chest that hasn't been looted yet

-Heal up with a medkit with no speedbonus whatsoever

There is no point in using Pharmacy ever, since with Self Care and Strength in Shadows you just heal anytime you want for the entire of the match

Yeah this perk is trash, i use to use it when i want to farm medkit, but since they have been nerfed there is not point anymore. Bhvr hates that chapter in general

Yeah, it sucks when you get matches like that right from the start. I hadn't played the game for a few days. Earlier I watched a funny moments compilation of the game, and decided to boot it up.

I played a solo match. One person yeeted themselves, two disconnected and the killer bled me out for the lulz. The desparity of what I saw in the video and what I experienced almost gave me whiplash. Sometimes your first match is bad enough to stop you playing a second.

Dang they bleed you out for nothing, yeah u think you can have fun in this game but the other side comes to ruin it lol

    The Perks:

The Unknown's Perks are decent. Nothing crazy, but I like all of them. I've ironically gotten the most use out of the Undectable one.

Sable's perks are...fine-ish. Her Self-Healing in the basement is alright, but the other two are problematic in entirely different ways. Weaving Spiders is probably the worst perk BHVR has ever released, bar literally none. Self-unhooking in the basement is asking for troll squads.

    The Killer:

Visually, very good. His TR is decent as well.

His actual power though? What a letdown. It's like they saw that people liked the Trickster Bouncy Knife add-on and made it a whole Killer. He's not very strong and he kinda sucks to play. He's definitely the worst ranged Killer.

    The Survivor:

Sable is good. Goth girl is good. That is all.

    The Map:

It's bad. I think it's really bad, actually. The gen spread looks horrendous. It has too many pallets. It's like a reverse Gideon. Gideon has no windows but a lot of safe pallets. This map has windows and a ton of unsafe pallets. It's miserable for everyone because it's just pre-drop city.

Overall, this chapter is a 5/10; only because it didn't break the game...yet.

the healing perk is the only positive for me😭

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I dont think you had ill intentions, but switching like that has bad vibes since near beginning of dbd. Doing so is at your own risk, sadly. Some (most?) Killers will use it automatically as an excuse to feel better about tunneling you. Just move onto the next game :)

I did and they didnt get any better, tunneling artist, tunneling huntress with a mori, and then i did escape vs a deathslinger but he had lightborn too (ugghhhh) and he tunneled one of my teammates out. Just unfortunate l. Also that billy game was my first one of the day. Amazing start

For all the people saying that killers shouldn't complain about Adrenaline, because it's a reward for completing the objective.

Pop and Pain Res have both received nerfs despite being perks that rewarded the killer for completing their objective. And I still see people complain about those perks on the forums.

So ultimately it doesn't matter if the perk rewards the player for playing well, it can still be nerfed and still be complained about.

Not a good comparison as those perk can activate multiple times. I feel like a better comparison would be no way out. Both are endgame perks, activate one time and reward you for playing well

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Lol imagine people complaining about Adrenaline a perk that literally requires survivors to complete their objective in order to activate.

Meanwhile ( I know you Us vs Them people don't want to hear it so cover your ears) you have No Ed being activated BY survivors too (you're welcome) and its like crickets, no one saying peep.

At this point spare me your Adrenaline complaints. 🤷‍♂️

I dont get the complaints either, after adrenaline gets nerfed i suspect players still wont be satisfied and will continue to complain about other perks to get them nerfed as well

So, the Unknown has barely released and we are already seeing cases of it being used for transphobia, as described on a recent thread by @Iron_Cutlass :

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/407960/the-new-killer-has-resulted-in-a-lot-of-transphobia

I understand this thread of mine is perhaps being written earlier than necessary, after all at the time this is being written we've received no official word from BHVR. However, I believe it is important to make haste this time, because of two reasons:

1- The lack of a license being involved would allow for a hastily action.

2- We may very well see those cosmetics being removed. This is, of course, based on the only other example we have: Smart Face.

Now, I am not sure how many were here for that; some Forum members got banned, others joined, and it all happened a while ago. As someone who was here, trust me when I say that it isn't exactly pleasant to revive this topic. But due to the similarities, I believe it is needed.

For those who are unaware, Leatherface's masks were not removed overnight and everyone was immediately okay with that, no. As a matter of fact, the whole thing was a massive debate in the Forums with several discussions, threads and even polls about it. A lot of feedback was given, but in the end it did not seem to matter that much.

Obviously, no one was opposed to racists being banned from the game. There is no excuse for racism, as there is no excuse for the cases of transphobia being currently reported. Awful people do not deserve to play DBD, and BHVR was absolutely right in removing those players from the game.

Another issue, however, was the removal of the cosmetics themselves, not only Smart Face but all four masks available. Picture for reference:

That was never acceptable. Some awful people chose to act in a disgusting manner, and it cost everyone else some of the best cosmetics in the entire game. They were an unique type of unlockable, something that no other killer had and, to this day, something that no other killer has. They perfectly made the connection between Dead by Daylight and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

And yet everyone paid the price for the actions of awful people who shouldn't be here to begin with.

Now, once again we have a situation of cosmetics being used in a disgusting way. And I would like to leave an appeal to the devs for the situation to be handled in the proper way this time:

Please improve your report system, make sure each and every transphobic player gets punished and banned, but leave the cosmetics alone.

Damn, you know when the general speaks, everyone should shut up and listen

and yes i agree with you
