Just rotate the survivors by 90 degrees. Easy fix. They'll still be small but at least the smaller items will be viewable.
Not such a big deal now though as we don't have to lobby dodge keys any more.

Me and all my friends were entirely new to the game and we still won a little over half of all the matches when we play survivor. Usually when we lost it was a case of our own inexperience and making dumb mistakes. However as long as we were smart and fast we seemed almost garneted to win unless we were up against a killer who was very good at the game.
As survivor I made it to the bronze ranks by the end of our first session and so did one of my other friends.... as killer I couldn't even make it to white rank 3 until I started researching the meta to see how the top players play
You have been playing this game for a couple of weeks and think you understand the balance better than the devs who have been working on the game for years do?
Guess what? You do.

Punishing people because the other guy has worse internet
I often check the pings when I get my hits taken away. The survivor invariably has a bad ping.
I think the intention was that best ping should win but in reality it seems to be the opposite.

Interesting. Well I had really really bad luck with ds4 controllers. I had ps1, ps2, ps3 and never had such problems.
I won't buy a single ds4 again since they are not that cheap and it is pointless. I already have 3 of them.
They should at least try to make them somewhat durable. I had problem with drift on day 1 with one of them. Ridiculous. I wonder if ds5 is any better.
My DS5 only lasted a few weeks and the spring broke in the trigger. Now when I play survivor I keep accidently teabagging mid-chase leading to me getting tunnelled out of the game.

The TV series was really good too (and has been renewed) so there is a good financial reason to bring Chucky to DBD.
Brad Dourif might do the voice lines too!

The other thing to note is that analog sticks can ware out in such a way that holding up will actually be slower, when I only played on PS4 I went through 2 controllers and was on a 3rd before making the switch to PC.
The strange part was with my first controller I didn't notice it in other games for a significant amount of time. Survivor wasn't as noticeable but killer felt like walking through mud. It got to the point where 110 killers couldn't catch up in a chase until Bloodlust 2 kicked in, I would lose ground at 110, I would run about the same speed as survivors at Bloodlust 1.
Let us know the results if you decide to test.
This is the correct answer. A perfect controller is exactly the same as keyboard and mouse, when they start to wear out though, you might only get 99% of the full distance registering it. A controller pushed to 99% on DBD does NOT run at full speed!
To test your controller, plug it into a PC choose Set up USB Game Controllers Properties, if you move the controller all the way up, and then from side to side (i.e. top right al the way to top left) you might see a slight wiggle. Thats the sign that your controller is wearing and you won't get full speed.
You can test this in game with a race in a custom match, one on keyboard, one on controller although obviously you both have to play as survivors.
-
It was my favourite map too.
I hope the devs out of the kindness of their hearts give us a third map this year as our net map count has barely gone up in the last couple of years.

Then you cycle back into the matchmaking problem we had pre MMR which was when there was very few "Red Rank" players on Red rank queues were excessively long wait times until matchmaking had no choice but to expand parameters and just set up uneven matches just so people could play.
I'm not saying I want people to games that they stand no chance of winning, but matchmaking in DBD has always been hit or miss in some aspect. It is more important that people get into games, even bad ones, than it is to make sure everyone's arbitrary stat gate lines up. Especially since the system being used isn't account for what is actually the skill based parts of gameplay to begin with.
There just needs to be hard limits. I agree on expanding the matchmaking range to a point, but top SWfs should never under ANY circumstances be matched with players who are bad or new.
If few killer players are at a level that allows them to compete with the best SWfs then the devs need to review whether the balance of the game needs addressing. By now, I really hope that they have seen that there is an inbalance and there are so many good ideas by people on how to fix this at the top level.
I'm sure that if the devs were willing to listen to these ideas we could get more good killers back into the game.
-
I've seen controller users play Huntress really well - I just don't know how they do it. It feels less punishing to miss as Trickster as you can re-adjust if you miss the first knife.

Consider what that wait time could be. If a SWF is averaging out to be near the 1900 point cap and the only killers playing at the moment are most people with a third as many points since its still a bit early for some of the higher point people to be playing, that SWF could see 30+minute wait times.
I don't think what we think of as a traditional red rank SWF should ever go against even a traditional purple rank killer. Those teams are going to dominate most matches. I also think they need to wait longer for a "red rank" killer.

This has to be a joke
Very next match. LOL. Please devs fix this. I feel like I am doing a community service for what would be these real ash rank killers.

Thats a problem though. If I got this on gamepass and got that match, I might have quit.
Yes it is a bad system. If there was a menu option that you let you prioritse "Quick matchups" vs "Accurate matchups" I really can't imagine many solo players choosing the quick option.
I would rather SWFs have long waits than potentially lose new players. I don't know why the devs don't see it that way.
-
This happens if someone lobby dodged causing the matchmaking to give the team ANY matchup as quick as possible. If you play a fourth match it will probably be back to normal.

If i spot a blendette or other hiding survivor i will walk past her pretending i haven't seen her to then stop and slooowly turn around. To then stare at her for 5 seconds. If she hasen't moved i walk away.
Trap downed survivors as trapper. Most of the time it obviously doesn't do anything as they can crawl away but sometimes you get these jokester survivors that play along or happen to be afk for a bit and hide the trap with their body. Really funny to me if it works and traps the person that was going to pick them up
I've faced one of you! Both funny and scary. What I miss though, is now you can't tell if the crouching survivor is looking up at you. I miss that since the new animation changes.
-
Congratulations!
Probably the most stressful thing I have ever had to do and I don't envy people having to do these newer, harder tests. Especially with you probably having to wear a mask too.
-
It should be short term. Smurfing is less impactful because of MMR. If these "new" players win their games, their results will soon raise them up and they will be competing against good killers but won't have the perks they need.
-
Are you using a controller? If so test using a keyboard and mouse.
-
I've played against enough really good survivors to appreciate the level of skill some of them have so I disagree that it takes no skill.
SWF however, takes no skill.
-
There's flies everywhere.
-
Pleasant.
-
I haven't exactly played survivor a lot recently, but I have never played against her. Not once. I've never known a new killer to be so rarely picked - especially surprising as she doesn't seem to be weak. Probably.

You say in a public forum.
Here, I don't have to listen to people shouting at their friends, shouting at their kids, shouting at their mom, being shouted at by their mom, chomping, crunching potato chips, slurping carbonated beverages, burping into a mic, farting into a mic, listening to their awful music, listening to bigoted opinions, listening to non-bigoted opinions and having to make small-talk. Also there are rules here, people have to communicate with eachother with some sort of decency.
-
I don't want to speak to Internet people.
-
Many killers believe that an SWF is akin to cheating. An unwinnable scenario for the killer. So a nice way to rub salt into those wounds is to effectively say, "You didn't lose because we were an SWF, you lost because you are rubbish."
Fortunately this can be hard countered by never asking the opposite side and considering every defeat an SWF, even if they were all on different platforms and loaded in seperately. These are just dirty SWF tricks I tell you!
-
@StarLost You are right about the lobby dodging causing it. The devs said this in the past. I think it was on a live stream. If the killer pulls out, the system prioritises getting them a lobby because they are supposed to be in a game already.
I don't know if it relevant but they said this before MMR, but my experiences match yours which leads me to beleive they haven't changed this.
It is annoying but fortunately these matchups don't happen often enough to put me off, and it is way less than it used to be with the awful old matchmaking system.
-
- I want to be able to rotate my killer in the lobby
- I want to be able to teabag as survivor in the lobby
- I want to be able to see the other survivors rotate and teabag in the lobby.

Because I wanted you to know how those three points were spot on!

If there is more than one Mikaela in my team I bring out my ant-totem build and cleanse them all.
If I get complaints in the end-game chat I tell them, "I prevented Noed, you're welcome." Even if there wasn't a Noed.
-
The blue one looks really horrible. The yellow one looks fantastic. I wish I could have a yellow one on PS5.
Edit: I'm slightly annoyed our voting colours don't match the colour of the contollers.
-
I wholeheartedly agree with your first three points!
- For me Antiloop takes all the fun of the chase away.
- I hate Shadowstep more than Circle of Healing because people just disappear. I also hate Circle of Healing.
- Realm Beyond. Yes, I want realistic low lying fog on the floor not whatever this unrealistic car pollution effect is. I wish the reworks looked half as good as the artwork previews make them out to be.
Well done on all three of your first three points!

maybe blood versions of all cosmetics you have.
i know that’s not really realistic to expect but they have with the T-virus infection shown they can create overlays on all cosmetics and i think there was even a new mechanic tested on a PTB that got discarded where your clothes get gradually more bloody suit a match.
I think this too. Didn't they experiment with blood on cosmetics in a PTB a while back? If so, it would make sense to make it a presige reward.
-
Just doubling all the bloodpoints is the easiest way to fix the grind. Getting rid of perk tiers is a good idea but we know that many players that have everyone maxed out would complain.
I just don't see any downsides to giving out more bloodpoints per game.

Dead Hard was a problem, Dead Hard + Hit Validation is too much when my ping is so much better than theirs.

Definitely "No Mither", it sounds more fancy. "No Mither" sounds wrong.
I couldn't disagree more. It's LITERALLY exactly the opposite to what you just said!
I blame US streamers for mispronouncing it.
-
The SWF will still probably have the advantage.
-
These were very funny! A personal one just for me:
As the trapper, hit a survivor caught in a trap then proceed to pick up the trap and take it to a hook because your too dumb to pay attention to what you are doing. Somehow manage to do this twice in one trial despite having 2200 hours in the game.

Yes. It has built-invoice comms, hence the massive coordination. The ping system iirc is a way to place markers to show your team where something is.

Survive while 2 others escape the trial as Yun-Jin Lee. We desperately need to stop with the challenges that forces you to play in a 4 man. I know from a business standpoint I can understand why they do this but it is like having a restaurant and saying "Only come if you are a big family and eat a lot", otherwise there is no cake for you.
I have tried for days and I may let this challenge go because I don't really play much in a tryhard or clicky SWF. I came close to getting this one time but a killer tunneled someone and only one was able to escape while I remained in the trial.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Z0Q3PU3WW0TU/20211124094049-1.jpg
We need to have challenges that are obtainable as solo. You are lucky if one person escapes.
I did this challenge yesterday. The others were in an SWF and of course, they wouldn't leave until the last ms to make sure that I had to die to complete my challenge.
Don't forget killers, toxic SWFs are toxic to solos too!
-
I'm glad BHVR care enough to give us bloodpoints in response to to the threat of the VHS Beta. It shows they are taking the competition seriously and care about their game.
Of course it is a coincidence, then we don't know if they care!
-
I feel your pain but it would be a lot of work to buff every killer. They could instead just have gens regress faster, or take a % damage after a kick. Maybe nerf one or two survivor meta perks too.
If that then leaves Nurse OP, that just leaves ONE killer to rebalance.
-
I watched a popular streamer playing killer last night, complaining constantly about how the game was unplayable for killer now. But they pretty much won all their matches.
If feels like people are just complaining because they used to be able to 4K evey match and now they have to play against people at their own level. The irony is, because there is now a challenge, the games in the streams are better from a viewers perspective.

This would be great but I have next to no faith in BHVR anymore.
Maybe they'll do a good job but considering that they said the most recent live patch wasn't going to happen again for a while (big balance changed)... Yeah, maybe things will get better in like, a year or two but right now I'm just burnt out and not having fun.
The thing that gives me hope is that the devs are all about the stats. If they are looking at the stats they should be seeing what everyone is complaining about. If enough people switch to survivor, the queues will grow and people will start to leave. Those people will not be purchasing cosmetics.

Unfortunately, that will happen regardless.
The Devs have put themselves into a bit of a pickle here.
Currently, the system matches the Highest MMR Survivors with the Highest MMR Killers. We know that those Killers are quitting because queue times have gone up and because we see more complaints from Killers about imbalanced matches.
This causes the Highest MMR Survivors to play against Medium-High MMR Killers. These Killers realize they don't stand a chance and do one of three things. The least likely is to tough it out and get to the Highest Killer MMR. The second is they switch to play Survivor. The third is that they quit altogether.
This trickle down effect means that the Devs have one of three options. They can either A) Balance the game for the top % of players or B) Remove the MMR system entirely or C) Do nothing and watch the game wither.
I very much agree with you here. But MMR needed to happen and I am glad it has, because it is the first step required to balance the game. Now the best survivors are playing the best killers, the devs can monitor how they compare.
I'm sure they will finally see that survivors (SWF in particular) have a large advantage that CAN be addressed. They just have to make a potentially devisive decision: buff solos and killers in away that takes the SWF advantage away. A lot can be accomplished by listening to the players and trying some balance changes on the PTB.
-
I'd like to see an option to bind it to a different key/button.
Does anyone remember running up to one of the upstairs gens in Haddonfield, pressing the button to work on it and then accidently fast vaulting out the window instead? I miss that!
-
High MMR is not supposed to be a goal. It seperates the good players from the average, and the average players from the bad. The devs do not want new killer players getting bullied into giving up the game.
