You're never forced to slug someone. Skill issue. Its not ok to try and be as toxic as possible and make the game boring for four people just because you're being outplayed. Slugging is boring so it's good they're doing something about it, stop trying to ruin the game for people, nobody wants to be lying on the floor for ages doing nothing it's not healthy for the game.
Try playing as the twins. Or maybe stop a flashlight save with any killer or waiting for DS to cooldown with any killer.

This is really good news. It lets me know they are listening to players. I felt the same way when they made the mori change awhile back. I have long said that if a survivor is left on the ground for a certain amount of time then they should be able to pick themselves up. It just feels like it should be a natural part of the game. It'll encourage killer players to play the game as intended and focus more on objectives rather than trolling.
Hmm not sure. They are fixing issues, but they are seeing it the wrong way. Mainly killers who slug don’t just slug because they are toxic. There many reasons killers do that. Play as killer you’ll see.

Okay, I understand. However I think it would be better to wait first for the Tome lore to come out so everyone can find out about David. When it is just suddenly announced on social media without any lore, context, etc... It feels forced. It's like "oh suddenly now he is like this". If the lore comes first, then it would be different I think.
100% spot on.

Thats not the problem. It doesn’t matter what sexuality he is, it’s how they did it and that they could have done it much better. Good story telling for one.

This feels force to cater to the LBGTQIA+ crowd rather than good story telling. You can have both, but this isn’t.

Boons can be put on Dull or Hex Totems, while Killers have no way of reigniting or helping their Hexes. Perks like Plaything or NOED are just SOL, why cleanse when you could just bring a Boon and screw the Killer over twice as much?
I knew Boons would be horrible for Killer but I didn't think they'd be a straight up FU.
Yes this is an absolute nerf on all hexes and like haunted grounds will not active once blessed. This is really survivor main one sided mechanics which hopefully they will fix it. Not to mention getting rid of the blessing the totem can be bless again without much consequences to the survivor.
The boon totems at the moment are actually worst than people thought it was.

He is, to my knowledge, the only major horror icon (aside from Leprechaun, and calling him a major horror icon is a pretty big stretch) that's always been played by the same actor. I may be wrong but none of the other major names I can think of went without at least once performance by a different actor. Doug Bradley IS Pinhead.
Besides Freddy Krueger, but I think that was because of movie rights and the reason why the Freddy in this game looks like the Michael Bay’s version rather than the original. But today people still complain about that and both sides you can understand why.

You really are being patronising to the wrong girl. Maybe try reading what I've written, that'll give you some idea, because I've already provided you with crucial context that you're completely ignoring in favour of strawmanning me .
And yes, the meta in DbD is extremely stable, just ask anyone that's been playing for a few years.
Why are mad? I asked in your opinion what are mindless perks which you only gave me two examples. Plus you are pretty much projecting. Lastly if they are stable why do the devs change them in the past few years. In face the past few months quite a few perks have changed.

ruin is strong sorry to say, it force survivor to search for totem in the game start.
and as @MadLordJack meta skill is pretty stable there's no change in meta for survivor or killer for this past years the only change is that undying become new meta even it is not that common as BBQ, pop, ruin, corrupt, etc , Survivor perks even more not changed than killer.
and devs change is really slow, see how many years it takes to change keys / moris / freddy / DS ? even they still hasn't changed spirit
Ruin was strong, they changed it. I disagree they has been some changes to some of the metas now than it use to be. Look at borrowed time for a example that’s been in quite a few changes.

If perks change so much, then why is the meta in DbD so stable?
Most people don't want to use a variety of perks. Most people use what they like and stick to it, and what they like is normally the best ratio of strong and simple, such as Dead Hard or Ruin. That's why I get into so many arguments with so many people on the forums, because they don't want to put in any effort for potentially greater reward and call all strong perks weak despite any and all evidence to the contrary, because they don't care about variety nearly as much as they do about switching their brains off and getting carried, a la old DS/UB.
They aren’t stable. Well that’s what they devs say anyway and that’s why they change them. Also mentioning Ruin you do know why mainly people use it? Not that’s it’s strong cause you can just cleanse it straight away if you can find it, and they changed it so it’s no where near as strong as it use to be. People mainly used it before of gen speed is too fast which has been an issue for so long. As I posted above this is a fine example of a meta counter cause it counters a meta which is gen rushing.
Off topic there, but as for this please give all perks a try.

Do you understand the concept of "strong but easy"? It's taken over from "most efficient tactics available" to be the true definition of "meta".
You can tell people to do whatever you want, it doesn't mean they'll listen. Why put in effort when you can just equip mindless perks and win?
You know perks change right? And what’s in your opinion are mindless perks? Also it doesn’t have to be strong to be meta you know, it can also be something which just counters to what is strong.

Malt players don't give a toss about variety, case and point all the people immediately complaining about the fact that none of the new perks are stronger than Dead Hard or Ruin.
People should play all survivors, killers and their perks otherwise you won’t fully understand the game.
-
@MadLordJack said:
It's not really a big deal, to be honest.
Kinda is to be honest. More perks give more variety of builds you can do. I didn’t add this on the top, but the perks don’t need to be op or meta, just some more perks for killers.

🤦♂️ You do realise Nemesis is a tyrant right? This would also fit for extra skins they could add. People who’s played RE 3 would know this.
-
Survivor: either Clair or Jill.
Killer: The Tyrant. Mainly cause you can use the Tyrant for many skins and this also adds Nemesis and Mr X which are also Tyrants. For the basic skin if Behaviour has done this which would be wise move is to use the original RE one. As for the others skins they would mostly be legacy which you have to buy like Nemesis and Mr X.

From what it looks like she could be a victim of a fire, also possibly the one responsible for it. Also from the second clue (the picture of the woman in the dress) her hands look very red and I'm not sure about this, but her left hand has only 4 fingers. Make sense since the pictures don't show her face, IF they are the same person in both of them.
Survivor or killer. I'm leaning towards killer since they are the main focus on most new chapters on dead by daylight and I can't see the devs promoting a new survivor in this fashion since they are pretty much a new skin with extra perks while the killer its that and mainly a whole new gameplay with their powers.
-
Nah it's an original chapter since you can buy the content with cells.

Nobody disagrees that they both need changes. Everyone is saying that they should do both at the same time. Moris are the counter to keys and if you nerf moris without nerfing keys, now keys are indirectly buffed until they nerf them. It isn't healthy for the game to leave them in a state like this, especially since now that moris are nerfed survivors know the key one is probably coming in the midchapter update, so every survivor is going to start spamming their keys to use them all up before they get nerfed.
This is what I exactly been saying in the other topic.
-
@Chekita said:
I think it does make sense changing both at the same time if they will do so, but I can't help but think this was rather necessary, thus it shouldn't have been so divisive as you mentioned.
Before, and I say this as one that played most as killer, we had lot's of changes from maps and those, so far as I see, only benefited killers for the most part. Saying they can't realease something that acts only for one side because of timing I don't think it makes much sense in regards to that.
Some changes benefit killers, others, survivors. That's how ballance should look like. I hope now they are more focused on bugs and then: buff to clown, demogorgon, correct legion, nerf Freddy, and change some OP loops that remain (several windows and pallets contiguous) along with massive dead zones that are unfair for survivors.
It depends it's not just the timing, but for how long one side has to wait to get the equal balance too. Like for keys now and how long until the changes comes out? Weeks, months? We just don't know, but in the meantime one side suffers because of this even if it's a good improvement to one thing. That's why you are seeing people complaining and also showing a false narrative of people saying they are survivor sided.
-
@Cerebral_Harlot said:
Yeah. Does this change make the game objectively healthier? Absolutely. Does it seem like the devs, in doing so, furthered the divide in the conception of their differing treatments of each side? That seems to be the case.
Yes absolutely on the first question, on the second yes, but not intentional.
The thing also by doing this now make things unfair on the killers side cause they have to wait on the changes for survivors side to balance out the process. Not intentional cause the changes improves the health of the game.
For example imagine libra scales and the best for it is to create equal balance. Then imagine adding one side out weighting the other and the reason for it is very good reason. The thing is It's out weights the other side and the problem is both sides need to be equal to create balance.
-
They could show it at end game at the very least and that would help a lot of people. Also with the new ranking system they are putting in will not work if SWF is still around cause it's based on hidden individual points score.

True that's why I think they should do them first. Like the god loop changes which makes the game more balanced now.

Nah any SWF is a disadvantage to the killer.
-
Yes because it's a huge buff with no negatives for survivors. Plus this game is meant for solo play which is why it's a huge issue. Only thing I would suggest is a notification for killers to show if they are in a group or not.

The only reasons because killers leaving too often(not that it bears any damage since lobby doesnt close for survivors) is high ping, they dont like when survivors are not ready cause they expect them to bring a key at the 6 second.
That's not true. There are many reasons for one which I've seen myself and mentioned. Also seen streamers themselves avoiding SWF groups too.
-
@6yXJI0 said:
Every killer would dodge swf. Groups will never be able to play.
As I said it's happening anyway regardless in fact worse because some killers who leave don't realise they are in a group or not. Killers are leaving even if the players aren't in a group.
-
Well what can I say? No changes to him.
-
Not a surprise though considering they needs to be balancing with the new upcoming stuff. Deathslinger needs a buff, sabotaging hooks needs a balance, new matchmaking needs to work etc. Hopefully some of the changes will be put in the PTB before it becomes live so we can test them out first.
-
Maybe, but he needs a slight buff.
-
Will the item disappear after match if a killer uses franklin's demise on that person before they escape or die?
-
The Convict
The Smasher
The Alchemist
The Prisoner
The Inmate
I guess the new map will be a prison map based off of new léry's.
-
Generator speed, SWF, Scoring in the ranks. Hopefully the new matchmaking they will sort out SWF or change it.
-
Great question and one of the things which needs to be addressed.
-
Got to ask this here. Since the new match making system is happening and it's base on player skill can people still join other people's games like this? Considering if they won't be at the same skill level.

Yeah so like i was saying with my edit your mmr would be higher with a swf because of comms so lets say if you always played in a 4 man who had amazing synergy. Your mmr is amazing because you can get gens done unhook people keep the killer at bay ect. And whatever weaknesses you have the swf can mitigate that kinda easily. Then you play on your own without coms. Sure you still have that skill but what synergy you had with your swf wont help you in obviously the normal solo game with noone able to talk to eachother. Obviously you can do mediocre and still pip which is a problem in itself.
THIS is what I was talking on my topic about how this new system which aims for solo play skill doesn't work with groups since it's different. 👍️

Again, that will kill the player base, and create larger queue times for both sides. Not to mention, why do I have to be penalised because I want to play with my friends? Arguing that they shouldn't get bloodpoints is absurd and might as well just delete it if that were the case. The grind is awful as is.
I get that SWF is blatantly more stressful to go against, but this isn't the answer that will solve anything. Whether you like it or not, SWF isn't going to receive nerfs, but the only solution to this problem is to add more information for the Solo survivors, as well as balance the killers accordingly. Removing the BP factor won't make it less frustrating to play against. That's just a silly balance philosophy you have there.
You missed read what I posted. You won't get penalised cause it would be a separate thing to public just like KYF is. Also this match making system is for public matches only. Also I'm not sure if it would kill the player base, look at the ruin change people said the same thing and 80% of killers use it. Your theory is far fetched. As I said above either way this match making system is going to happen same as ruin. No matter how you see it this the new match making system will not fully work with SWF.
-
@LemeTheMeme said:
I think rather than removing a feature that most of the player base uses, we should opt for more ways to decrease the gap between solo and SWF play. After those changes, then balancing can be made accordingly.
I've made several comments and discussions about the topic and ways we can improve this, but removing this feature will kill the game.
Well in that case make SWF like KYF and not give blood points. Make it separate to the public matches which give you blood points. Major thing is that this new match making system will be mainly for solo play considering that it's based on your own skill.
-
@Warlock_2020 said:
SWF should never be separated from the rest. It is a game, there is absolutely no real ramifications from winning or losing. No money, contracts, or advertising gigs because the game is not a competitive game on the circuit.
SWF is not even that powerful most of the time. 90% of the time I find them easier due to overly altruistic groups. 8% is a good group that pushes my skills as a killer. Then there is that 2% bracket of hit squads that rule the roost. Ih well, next game. Isn't that what we tell survivors after they get face camped? Shouldn't have got downed and to just move on to the next gaem?
Let it go.
You are missing the point. It's not about winning or losing, it's about your own skill which this match making system will be based on. With SWF you can't rely on your own skill fully because you are relying on friends who you play with to help you. I have to disagree, SWF is very strong.
-
@oxygen said:
Don't worry, I honestly don't see how skill-based MMR can work for a game with such extreme differences in challenge for one side or the other based on killer, perks, add-ons, items, map, map generation, matchmaking, playstyles and way more things that player's might not be able to directly control.
Because SWF will never be removed or have mechanical restrictions or nerfs applied to it. To the point where it's nothing but a complete waste of time to even propose that particular approach.
Well considering the last update with ruin and why they did that, the change is happening no matter what. At least we should get some balance into it.
-
@Colton147 said:
Kill Your Friends will have to have the ability to earn bloodpoints if removal of Survive With Friends were to be removed - Kill Your Friends will end up becoming a bloodpoint farming simulator (which I wouldn't mind, since bloodpoints are greatly rigged against survivors, as killers earn more bloodpoints).
How? They are both separate and KYF you can't get any blood points.

I wholeheartedly agree with this and feel this is the main reason there is so much turmoil in the community. They nerfed Ruin but didn't appropriately compensate. They were talking about nerfing gen times/toolboxes, but if they were, they should of waited to nerf Ruin and then change Ruin and toolboxes at the same time to prevent complaints.
Or they could've said it at the same time they were changing toolboxes or while doing this to ruin before the live Q and A. That would've put people's minds at ease.
-
Well it's lore based maybe Vigo. Maybe a killer who collects lips and puts them in a salty jar. To be honest I love to see a new killer based on scratched mirror Myers. Or with the same powers and style.
-
Good question.
It really depends who you play against, if they have toolboxes, SWF, ranks, etc. Gen speed could do with a slight decrease or/and ruin, any gen slow down perks could do with a slight buff. Toolboxes are getting changed so I hope that's comes out soon as.
