Oh no, survivors being mute is an intended feature.
Not precisely. From what I saw from a past livestream a while ago, when they're making changes sound is the last thing they do most of the time. Also when new content is added into the game (new mori's on new killers for example). This makes sense if they are adjusting the movements for survivors first before putting in the sounds. Sounds have to be timed with the survivors movements (footsteps) and that would be difficult if they are adjusting them at this moment.
-
Saw this on the livestream, this is great news and I hope they do this asap. This will make the game more balanced.
-
I was wondering is this connected to survivor movement sounds? Cause playing as killer you can't hear them very well. Mainly survivors footsteps.
Edit: Just saw the previous post about it and it appears to be a different issue.

Simply it depends what going to happen with ruin when it comes to the live version. If they are going to fully change it like it is in the PTB then I would say remove it as a hex totem. It really depends on what's happening with ruin at this time and what the devs have decided to do with it. (If it's going to get a buff then hits live, not touched at all, etc). As for totem placement and maps, that's another topic which can be sorted out in the future since this effects all totems and not just ruin.
Loving this topic so far and enjoying reading the suggestions on here.

The worst that comes to mind is combining it with Surveillance. Any time a generator is being worked on, I would know. The instant you get off it, I'd know. Normally cleansing Ruin is the only way to counter that, so removing the hex aspect means that the killer always knows where you are and has no counter.
I agree if this is about the old ruin yes. The new ruin is easier to skillcheck and easier to progress with. I've just done gens with the new ruin by basically just progressing on to them without cleansing. Comes down to is strength between the new and old ruin and depends on what's happening with ruin when it comes out to the live version.
Surveillance does work really well with the new ruin if anyone hasn't tried it yet you should. Still I don't think new ruin shouldn't be a hex totem since its weaker now.

Of course this is true - after all there has been no recent changes that have affected killers positively have there? Oh wait, Freddy got a really large rework and is now pretty strong, Balanced Landing got altered and that was a huge Killer complaint and many many more things. Fact is the Developers are not killer or survivor sided, they make changes for the better health of the game!
I think it's best to look into why Danky is saying this, even if it is right or wrong. Also others who are saying this.

Hi!
Just wanted to address one common concern I've seen from the community. "They nerfed Ruin so it wouldn't be hard for new Survivors."
That's not quite what the intention was. This is subtle, but bear with me.
New Ruin is in fact really brutal for new Survivors... because it is insidious. They have no idea what's happening, and they struggle to get gens done at all. That little zap effect when you take your hands off a gen? Barely noticable to a new player who's panicing because of the L3 Terror Radius they are hearing. It's not even noticable that the gen is regressing twice as fast as if the Killer had damaged it.
What we wanted to do was not "make it easy for new players" but "make it less frustrating for new players". In playtests with newer Survivor players, it was 4k with 4 or 5 gens up almost every time. But they didn't hate their time in the game as much because those red skill checks weren't in their faces.
I'm looking forward to playing on the PTB with some of you tomorrow; see you in the Fog!
But if you cleanse it, it's gone so what's the problem? As repeated the reason people are reacting the way they are cause you guys aren't listening to them and to why people use ruin in the first place. People have been complaining for the past months about game changes from previous patches to this and it's continually getting ignored or feel that they are being ignored.

I mentioned an idea in another topic about this about reopening past events.
@JakConstantine said:
I think this is fair. Pay for them if you want them, or the devs can reopen past events for a certain period of time in the future for new/old players who missed them. Plus reopening past events would help the devs and give them more time on new future content if they need more time on it. I know there's the PTB, but I do think the devs deserve more time if they need it.
Only question is that would reopening the past events for a certain period of time would be too difficult to do? It's an just idea what could help everyone.
As mentioned before the only question is that would it be too difficult to reopen past events?

The cosmetics were earned by players who played the event.
You did not so you should not get them.
I know what you mean, but what about the Switch and Mobile players? They deserve a chance.

No in my opinion he is fine as he is. Only tiny thing is one of his perk blood echo's with tiers levels are the same.
-
A tiny buff with one of his perk blood echo's with tiers.
-
I'm guessing it's the first Yamaoka or the ancestor.
From what we see at the teaser it fits perfectly to what is said on here. Blood spilled, flames of war, the mask, the katana, etc.
-
I don't believe they'll have a survivor in the next chapter since we have 2 in the last one and 3 extra perks for survivors because there was 2 of them. Just a stand alone killer and maybe a new map, map reworks or both.

She isn't fun to face, and while some people like @GrootDude and many others like the challenge... facing her over, and over, and over, and over again because she's the top meta isn't fun.
But that isn't why she isn't fun, the general mechanics of how she works in chases and loops isn't fun... and i'm speaking in-general for the majority that face her. Yes, spirit isn't the omega Killer that can kill any Survivor... a good team and even some good Survivors on the team can loop her pretty decently...
But... that's just a minority... if we're looking at the majority this isn't the case. You could just say "git gud" at that point, but "giting gud" with a Killer that isn't fun to play or go against isn't the answer...
Also, the DCing that she causes from her mechanics is ALSO not fun to face... it isn't fun having my entire team bail on me while the Spirit doesn't care and still goes 100% on you.
The reason that people are facing her over and over and over again is because they aren't enough viable killers in the game. If there was more strong, viable killers people will be playing them.
-
I'll always say this now, short and sweet that legion needs a rework.
-
I can see both sides being valid here. The only incident I saw which a person should have been punished for this was when Tru3ta1ent got stream sniped by a toxic survivor who admitted he did it because Tru3ta1ent was tunnelling and camping (which wasn't true). (Lastly yes there a video of it, but no I'm not putting on here cause the snipers info is on it). The fact he admitted to it is enough, but other than that I can see why the devs can't prove it's the same person.
To be honest if there's streamers who had this the issue it would be best for them not stream the game or for a while. It may hurt both the streamer and devs advertising wise, but if they can't do anything about it that's the only option to choose. Sorry to say.

My God. Most of this community consists of killers having pity parties. Should any survivor offer feedback, you know, to help reach a balanced compromise from seeing both sides, it's down vote central.
4K 100% of the time. Only thing that seems to keep you happy.
a lot of survivors main, and even fog whisperers have said he fine as he is now. Very rare to see a person saying he needs to be nerfed.
-
You have no data on ghostface's performance against red ranks on the live servers.
I agree with this 100%. He just needs time and feedback before making changes to him.
-
For those who don't know who I am, I am reputed to be quite critical of BHVR at times, and am incontrovertibly a Killer main.
Great post. The only thing I will say is that he just needs more feedback and time before doing any changes with ghostface again.

This is a double edged sword, though. By the same logic, we should have gone forward with the original version of Ghost Face that hit the PTB since not everyone plays the PTB. Much like we did with the first version, we kept an eye out for feedback and made changes as they were necessary. After we made those changes, we received a lot of feedback about it being too hard to detect Ghost Face while being chased. This is why the changes are focused on his ability being used in a chase rather than before hand. The effect should be very minimal while stalking an unsuspecting survivor while also addressing some of the issues with detecting Ghost Face once you've seen him.
Very true, but there's the huge difference with people who wanted him to be buffed when the ptb started compared to who wanted him to be nerfed now while he just came out live. I think ghostface just needs more time and feedback before making any changes again.
-
@kabarekabal said:
His stalking needs fixing, it needs to be fair.
Survivor's reveal can get interrupted and his reveal timer gets reset, whereas ghostface can just continuously keep stalking you, and eventually gets an exposure on a survivor.
He's just come out, how do you know this? Not everyone plays the PTB.

I've gotta' clarify some things here because there seems to be a lot of confuison.
The range to break him out of stealth is unchanged. The detection area refers to the area on your screen that the killer needs to be in to start revealing him. That will be made about 8% larger. This does not make him easier or harder to reveal, it's just a little QOL change for those that aren't perfectly accurate (particularly helpful for those playing on a controller who are having a hard time keeping their camera right on him during a chase).
The pallet stun is something we got a lot of feedback for. A survivor is meant to be reveal you once they've seen you. If they threw a pallet down on you, they've definitely seen you. (That, or they're just running around the map throwing pallets down for fun and just won the lottery.)
Most of his add-ons are not being changed. His stalk rate add-ons are being decreased due to how powerful they were. It was possible to reduce the stalk time to under 1 second while leaning. The killer instinct add-ons are being reduced to compensate for his base killer instinct duration being increased. The rest of the add-ons remain unchanged.
I think the problem is that ghostface shouldn't be changed or thinking about changing him at all at this moment since he just came out live. He should be given time and chance to see if the changes are needed. The PTB alone won't solve that cause not everyone played the PTB especially console owners.

@Dreamnomad said:
All of those changes seem pretty reasonable to me. Typical "sky is falling" post to be expected on these forums.
How can it be reasonable when he JUST came out? You can't make full judgement until people have play as and against him fully in different ranks to change him. That takes time.
-
I've seen some of them causing drama about the PTB today. To be honest the fog whisperers needs to be dropped if this continues cause it's not really helping anyone.
-
@Saint_Ukraine said:
Sounds like a crybaby killer main to me.
Not making much of a case for yourself. You don't even offer up counter play for why Legion shouldn't be nerfed. All you people do is complain. I guarantee you that I will play fine with the new Legion. The only people who are disadvantaged by this are people who play like morons.
What's funny about this is that you are using the pig for your avatar and she got nerfed also. Her nerf is just as bad or worse than legions.

Then he would pretty much be exactly the same as the Doctor.Making his power identical to Doctor in practice and ability just makes him a clone character. One of the devs have stated that rather than throwing the bottle AT Survivors when they loop and such, throw it in areas nearby to deny them, giving you time to catch up and keeping their vision obscured. If you hit them directly, their vision is blurred even more.
Also, if you make the bottle break at a higher elevation the gas spreads in a wider area. Just keep that in mind

Technically it wouldn't since the doctor shock is a stack on to madness level which includes random screams. The tonic itself only lasts for a 1 second or 2 anyway with the slow down and blurry vision. Also most survivors will always make it to pallets and vaults even while been intoxicated. By the time you get close to them even if you do get the chance on hitting them it's basically on luck or if the survivor make an mistake.
