It is no secret that premades have the strongest position in the game. The gap is huge between solo players and premades due to comms and synchronising perks.
I do not understand, why this has not been disabled yet to nerf premades. If you play as a premade, you should not be able to run copies of the same perk. Example: in a party of 4 only 1 person can run Prove Thyself, 1 person can run Unbreakable.
Competitive premades who are on comms and have all meta perks equipped, especially with the map unbalance, are just grossly overpowered.
I've always thought the true strength of SWF was picking their teammates, whether it be just good friends screwing around or with the intention to sweat with skilled players.
This advantage of taking out the rng part of your team I feel outweighs any perk combinations in all but the most efficient teams. And luckily those kinds of teams are the tiniest of the playerbase, who when matchmaking actually does its thing gets the most efficient & ruthless of the killers. Sweats against sweats in that mythical high MMR area.
I've also noticed they really really do like to have the players in both roles run what they like.

I do wish she was a little faster while crouched at base, and that her roar didn't start at the very start of her Ambush but a tad later into it.
Her traps are somewhat more consistent than before, but it is still soul crushing whenever so many do remove them very quickly.
Smart survs 99 the gens while a trap is active, which also reduces her effectiveness. The recent change to Pop can help with that a little.
I too miss Endgame Piggly Wiggly as well, but the addition of EGC forever squashed that.

why not a 4% (maybe higher?) self pickup chance like on hooks? if you fail you bleedout faster, if not you get 10 sec endurance from the adrenaline rush.
I'm not necessarily against this, but I also can see the argument for it being compared to suiciding on hook, as a means of yeeting out and/or circumventing the DC penalties.

I mean, flinging the mouse to the other side of the room is better than dealing with the absolute aneurism that is the auto aim on console, or doing any flick motion.
Trust me, i played on both platforms and it was SO MUCH better once i moved on to PC.
Most players aren't willing to do that though, not without Cross Progression. After thousands of hours grinding and whatever monies spent it is very hard to start all over and buy & relevel everything. I won't.
Just to be able to use a mouse and get stable frames, to maybe play most of the killers to anywhere near their full potential?

At the same time, it's not a major addition, that would change anything. This would be purely QOL (Quality of Life).
It's much more than 2/3 of the playerbase that cannot use the chat box thingy. But I've noticed they rarely put resources into anything that isn't across all of the platforms.

I don't play either of those games, but did they have Cross Progression from the start or was is added in? That difference seems to be part of the problem.

It’s kind of a double edged sword for me.
Yes, bump logic is objectively stronger than going for a hug tech. In that regard, yes it would be worth.
But a hug tech hit is sooooo much more fun for blight mains. Especially when you start throwing in moonrushes and double back moonrushes, etc. it just broadens blight’s gameplay to more than just “ok I’m going to bounce here, survivor will go there, I bounce here and secure a hit.”
Me personally, I’d rather have frustrating maps with some inconsistent 💩 collision and be able to hugtech simply for the fun.
I wonder how other devotees of Blight feel about it.
I'm pretty sure I cannot get the full enjoyment out of him with a controller 🎮, no matter what stupid thing I'm sliding off of that I shouldn't be. Might be coloring how I see him.

I am so afraid of him getting Billy’d. Blight has kept this game alive for me. The hug tech specifically allows for wayyy too much fun in game for me. That’s why I defend it so much.
But maybe there will be some fair changes that appease both of us and we can stop going back and forth about it every single day. xD Anytime I see your name pop up, I just know I’m about to get into it over blight again.
Would it be worth it if huggies were gone but they ironed out most of his collision issues and a bunch of his bugs? Made him much more consistent on most of the tiles and maps that aggravate him?

It's not just a number though. Sorry, very few people want to willingly sign up for a more difficult match, and will avoid it when it takes no effort to do so. I know the prevailing take on the forum is that every P100 is actually a Meghead, but people who play against lobbies of them know that's a galaxy away from the truth.
I just wish all the lobby shopping didn't absolutely wreak their matchmaking system. It leads to so many awful experiences and complete mismatches, way too often. I'd love to see some kind of test where there is no lobby at all, give the system its best chance at a fair-ish trial. Would prevent surv last second swapping bs as well.
-
They said they always intended SWF but it wasn't quite ready for launch back in 2016. I believe they were working on both that and KYF, and concentrated on KYF first.
I also believe they underestimated the impact of comms on the most efficient of skilled 4-man teams, where their coordination is most felt. Luckily those are the absolute rarest of the SWF, where casual 2-mans vastly outnumber 3's and 4's big time. Unless you're in that mythical high MMR area and matchmaking does its job, you won't go against those squads much if ever.
And how could they do a thing about comms anyway? Removing SWF is suicidal, and those comms are outside programs that they couldn't even know are being used in the first place. Unenforceable.
-
Not a good idea to bump threads it's frowned upon around the forum. They most likely have read it and have no news to share concerning it.

I don't know why this isn't talked about constantly when many console players ask for it.
Dead by Daylight is like the only game that i know that has cross-play with PC and still doesn't have mouse and keyboard support. It really wouldn't take that long and would benefit the console side of the game.
If your going to have cross-play across PC and consoles, and not recognize the clear advantage that mouse and keyboard brings to Dead By Daylight than that clearly shows the care you have for your players. The only thing ive seen where BHVR talks about MnK support console was a Tweet back in 2020 saying they dont plan on adding it.
If they have said anything about it other than that tweet can someone reply and inform me on why they dont plan on adding it, it would be much appreciated.
Been asked for many times over the years. And yes as you said last word was they have no plans to add it. Their reasons have been: it would take too long to do it, use up too much resources to do it, and require a UI rework as well.
There is a adapter available for about $240 USD that the PlayStations can use, but sadly it doesn't work for Xbox.

There should be a replay system to watch the previous games you’ve played from anyone point of view to learn what happened and why certain things feel tougher than they appear, and learning from silly mistakes. It also allows people to find cheaters and report them. Lastly it would be cool to save replays for good games or memorable games! What would be the downside to this? And how hard would it be to implement this into the game?
@CrypticGirl said:
I would personally enjoy this. This is why I stream the game myself, in case I have those memorable matches that I want to save (or even capture clips of the silliest or most epic things). And when I meet other streamers, I like to see the match from their perspectives as well.
However, I can't see how it would be implemented. I imagine it would be quite difficult.
They've said several times any match replay system would have had to been originally coded back in 2016. It's too late now to add it in apparently.
I wish for this as well. It would remove much of the burden on the playerbase when using their reporting system. Maybe in a DBD 2 someday?

Tell them what you have seen. Every time you enter a chase of a Survivor. You will gain the Haste status effect by 4/7/10% for 2 seconds. This perk will be unavailable for use, if you have the status of undetectable and, has a cooldown of 30 seconds per Survivor.

“Marked Cursed”
Your suffering will end soon. Every time you find a different Survivor in the trial “Marked Cursed” gains a token (up to 4) when you get 4 tokens “Marked Cursed” activates and stops collecting tokens for the remainder of the trial. If your not in chase within 30/20/15 seconds, all of the Survivors auras is revealed to you for 3 seconds. “Marked Cursed” loses a stack by “1” then goes on cooldown for 10 seconds.

I've always liked the idea of making practical use of the charms. One could be personal to each character, granting a tiny bit useful bonus.
Like 0.5% faster healing for Claudette, or a second quicker trap setting for Hag & Trapper, or a 0.5% vaulting bonus for Feng, or a small crouch speed bonus for my beloved Piggy.
Nothing too crazy or substantial, just a little bump that makes sense lore and/or power wise.

I have a little Question, i play on my PS5 and i'm tierd of toxic Legacy Players or Hackers so i wanna play Killer with Corssplay off. And now the Problem, i'm sitting since 1h in Que and not finding a Match or it founts a Match but then it says "Match Found" but not loading in for 1h +.
Has this to do with my MMR or is there a way to deal with this?
When you turn CrossPlay off, you will then only be matched with other PS5 players who also have CrossPlay off.
So you can no longer match with PS4, any Xbox, Switch, Windows, Steam, Epic, or PS5 with CrossPlay turned on.
So yeah, you're in for a long af wait.

And if the killer did that, everyone else would finish all the generators and escape rather quickly. I will say that my complaint is from a Survivor perspective because as a Killer, the game has never been easier because of this. Everyone just bum rushes the hook and all the killer has to do is stand that and smack them down. No one attempts generator repair anymore because they all want to be the guy who unhooks their teammate. When I play as Survivor, I am often the only person doing generators while everyone else just spends their time running at the hook.
I was referring to during End Game Collapse (EGC) after all gens are done

As a blight main, I sympathize. His collision is so funky and always changing. There are many maps that make his power borderline unusable.
I hope you can still through and learn him, because when he’s fun, he’s really fun. But when he’s bad, he’s really bad and it’s unfun.
I'm assuming you play your Blight with a mouse so I have questions.
How is he to play on the venerable Swamp realm? I seem to remember there being lots of awful slides all over those maps, and the sloped borders along the edges messed with me on controller too. But it's been a while since I played Blight.

Since I primarily play Survivor and I remember when someone could be taken down immediately after being unhooked, it was very fun. People had to be much more methodical about unhooking their teammates and not just blindly run in right in front of the killer. The instant takedown risk made for a much more enjoyable and tense game than it is today.
This change would doom whoever got hooked during EGC, when the killer has nothing else to do but defend that hook.
No thank you.

Match preview is apparently not possible - it was requested multiple times and it always comes down to DBD making bad choice at the inception of the game - making this feature too hard to implement now. But yes - that would have been awesome for multiple reasons!
Yeah they said they would have had to side a replay system from the start, cannot be added in now.
It would ease their reporting system too, take much of the burden off of the playerbase.

Wondering is it enough?
You no longer need a Steam ID or any other identifiers like that. You use their match name/character when you report the trial, in-game, which flags that trial and that player for the devs. Fill out the report. Add in video evidence and you're done.
They're adding in a response to such reports down the road too.

One of my favorite games put out an update a few days back. They made it happen on the strongest of the last gen machines, when they obviously didn't have to, and are a much smaller developer too. Also Canadian. And the Long Dark is two years older than DBD as well. Just sayin.

That's exactly what it is. And while I don't think there's inaccuracy in the data (I think it parses a screenshot of the end game screen instead of manual entry iirc) there are several issues with using it as the final word.
- People tend to post more about frustrating or annoying games, so individual bias might come into play. This is especially true on the forums, and holds true on other sites as well.
- It's far, far from a full player base sample. For example, it's an English website, so basically North America and Europe are the primary sources. Large player bases that don't speak English (China) aren't represented hardly at all.
- Data that is regional is the most noticeable difference. Self care is very popular in Asia, and almost never showed up in the top perk picks on Nightlight. See point #2 above.
I see nightlight as an interesting tidbit, but it isn't always accurate. Official BHVR starts are the only way to really know, and they don't give it starts as often as I'd like.
So its only PC, English-speaking, regional, hopefully non-pissed off players that make up this info?
Yikes

that isn't even my experience he is literally just that high
why are you trying to dance around facts
"it could be different per region" he's still 8th
"it could be different for MMR" he's still 8th
"it could be a different time" he's still 8th
Wait a minute.
Aren't those stats from a site that relies on the playerbase themselves entering in loadout information? On their honor? And it's only PC players too?
So we're taking it on faith they're putting in accurate info, and not including the largest portion of the playerbase either?

Every time a new update drops, the amount of players disconnecting skyrockets. The latest update has been the worst I’ve seen. Every game I’ve played has warranted a player disconnect, me disconnect, or our entire team and killer disconnect— all with penalties. Pause penalties while you work out the kinks of this newest update. It’s incredibly unfair to be penalized when you’re not the cause of a disconnect.
I get that connection issues are a real pain to deal with in DBD, but whenever they do disable those penalties the number of DC's always gets out of hand.
-
Few killers can stop the first couple of gens from being completed, not without cooperation from the survs at least. And as Shroompy said there's plenty of game left even after three pop, often even all five.
Always believe it can be done, you can kill them all. Certainly not every trial, but it can be done. By any killer. On any map. With any rng. Against any foe.
Even with my beloved Amanda Panda.

Correct, and it is a survivor offering. The offerings for spawns are actually on the wrong teams. The survivor one makes them stay close together (what they do not want) and the killer one makes them spawn separate (what they do not want)
Incredible that those are still backwards af
-
@Seraphor said:
You can't have 'gens evenly spaced' and 'survivors spawn away from gens' at the same time, there's simply not enough space on the maps, especially as bigger maps are worse for killers. If gen placement is balanced, then everyone is going to spawn somewhat near to a gen.
This is prolly what's going on.
With all the hate for 3-gening, I bet in the background they're messing around a little bit with generator spawn locations, and without also looking at surv spawns the gens are being pushed more into likely surv spawn locations.

Until now every cheater I've faced has been from Steam 💀 One was even a bot that was streaming their gameplay. So yeah.. against those lobbies I definitely dodge, and would love to have the option to dodge.
In the entire playerbase all of the consoles collectively are the largest in number, and it's not really close. But it depends on so many things, like time of day, which region, MMR grouping, etc.
Is is possible to cheat through a console, but much harder so it's not really worth it.
I sorta understand the various reasons people dodge, but since it wreaks the matchmaking we should find a better way.

Did I ask something that incredible?
I'm a consoler, so for me pretty much everyone appears as CrossPlay because Xbox has much less players than PlayStation does. So PS, Epic, Switch, Windows, and Steam all show a globe 🌎🌍 in my lobbies.
And I certainly cannot check any Steam profile stuff either. 😂
