Unfortunately you do not represent the entire playerbase.

Want to boycott the game because of NFT → the boycott doesn't work since everyone is still playing the game → now is the time to force others out of the game with some facecamping, tunneling and slugging to make the boycott work a bit better and ruin the game as a "retaliation". I think that would be the logic. How else do you protest against something in DbD?

You don't protest it within DBD. You can protest it outside of DBD and draw attention to them on twitter, post about it on the forums, some other ways maybe.

The question is, if people are playing Bubba to protest NFT, what where they using this build to protest against in the past? Unless you have "NFTs ARE A PROBLEM" as your in game name, and make sure to bring them up in the chat afterwards, then it's not very effective.

  • @Junylar said:

I think those are protesting against NFT this way.

lmao what, how is playing insidious camping bubba protesting NFTs

If anyone is doing this to protest NFTs then they are stupid, as they are punishing survivors, not BHVR, plus, no one will have any idea this is the reason and it is not spreading a message

At low mmr, it is super common. They already made it down, they just don't realize it yet... ha ha ha.

How do you know you are low MMR though? You'd only be guessing. I would assume most people on the forums are above average and therefore not low MMR

  • I found it didn't take me long to start winning with him tbh. At the end of the day you can play him like a normal M1 killer, and just use your power to traverse the map quickly.

However I do find he can be punishing to play if you stop playing him for a bit and then come back to him, especially against a good team where you can't really afford any mistakes

I've had something similar just as horrible. One of the Corn maps the one with the barn with hay in the corner. 1 gen was inside and the other 2 was just outside the barn close by. I noticed this very quickly when the match started and tried to fix one of them to break it, but I'm certain the Legion noticed it to since he never once left them. 2 died 2 escaped via key that was next to one of the 3 gens.

Since what you had was an indoor map it probably was worse than mine.

That's one of the few times I think a key escape is fair, if you get a gen layout like this

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/275013/is-this-greatest-3-gen-of-all-time

I can't even begin to explain how DISGUSTING This is. That's not even Goated, that's downright unfair to the highest degree. I would've outright walked towards you and asked you to just sacrifice me because that's some high-level BS. Like, Two gens next together in less than 40 METERS of distance is ridiculous. Like, why are those two gens so close to each other.

    Why isn't Lery's disabled yet :/

Yeah it's pretty terrible, but honestly I don't see stuff this bad on Lerys too often. I'd rather they disable Haddonfield than Lerys any day.

  • There seems to be a very high correlation between people who bring map offerings and who will also be toxic, which for me often leads to a very frustrating game. So yeah I hate map offerings and these days if I see them I'll just meme with the survivors and not play properly.

  • Objection, I hate DBD but it's not good

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Idk man when you're at 5 gens and you feel the need to do this Insidious

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NEBD0NQCJHAU/image.png

And then proceed to continue to chase after one survivor despite three others willingly placing themselves in front of a Leatherface's saw and you don't use it on them because this one survivor- who didn't tbag, click, or do anything except go down within 45 seconds- for some reason has to die, to the point where you slug them for 3 and a half minutes to ""avoid DS"" while nodding the whole time, and literally allow other survivors to do gens in your face so long as they're not healing your precious slug...

Doesn't seem like you're in the mood to win, moreso in the mood to ruin someone's session.

The thing is, there are an awful lot of survivors who will call you a tunneller, even if you hook 1 or even 2 survivors before you hook them again. Or they'll call you a camper if you hook them, and then a teammate loops you right around the hook, giving you no reason to leave.

There's a huge difference between the behaviour you are referring to (Insidious camping or hyper tunnel Bubba), and proxy camping the area of a hook, or going after a survivor again because you have lost 2 gens in 1 minute on Ormond, and their teammate is vastly superior at looping. Both of which however will usually result in getting the same amount of abuse in the post-game chat lol

  • The simple answer is, there are more people attacking the game (basically anyone who has the game and has a computer) than there are defending (however many developers there are on the anti-cheat software team). So usually modders/hackers always win because its a resourcing issue.

I'm aware of that but that's a completely different scenario from a chapter we know is getting removed in less than 2 months

Yeah I was more just commenting on your post where you questioned if the entire source would be deleted when the guy mentioned it'd die eventually. They'd never delete the source code, even if the game stopped being played.

  • @HealsBadMan said:

This setup make me feel like Pinhead when a Survivor opens his box. 😩

Oh yeah when I saw that 3-gen I came... straight to the forums

  • Not so much source code getting deleted, but the final nail in the coffin of a multiplayer game is usually when the games servers are shut off. By this time though maybe we'd have DBD2, or some other alternative is finally released and gives some competition.

  • @Rey_512 said:

Why can’t you silly survivors just work on other gens and slowly chisel away at the 3-gen when the killer is distracted by chase?

If he decides to protect the 3 gen all game and never leaves it, you can potentially have 4 gens done with 0 hooks.

Funnily enough, the gen on the left in the first picture (the one in the central room with all the crazy electric machines) did actually get done by the survivors over the course of the game, even though I was heavily patrolling this central area for the most part. However, the next two closest gens were also pretty close to the ridiculous pair of gens you see, so I basically had 2 other 3-gens, once they broke the original 3-gen.

You can't blame the survivors here, if the Killer is smart and absolutely refuses to take chase (e.g. just settle for an Injure or a pallet each time and wear down the survivors resources), it's difficult to break a 3-gen, especially one this close (basically I had to defend a 2-gen).

  • I think a lot of people are playing this game to troll people, so as soon as you let go any sign that you are tilted, they're going to double down. If they say "gg ez" just say "yeah well played" and it stops them in their tracks.

  • If someone is better than you, it is because they are a no-life try hard.

But if you're better than someone, they are just a noob (it doesn't make you a try hard).

The unwritten rules of multiplayer gaming.

Yep, this is what Killers do.

My favorite was a Killer (streamer) with over 10k hours, who dodged me because I have 6k hours.

    @Topic:

Nobody really ever said that Survivors should be able to see the Killer. However, Killers also should get less information. Items are fine. Names or Profiles should be hidden.

How do you know they dodged you, were you stream sniping then?

  • BHVR make money by keeping players playing the game, more players means more people who might buy DLCs and cosmetics.

More grind = more addictive gameplay and more people playing, so more money. This is why they release Tome challenges which get MORE grindy as the chapter progresses (repair 5 gens turns to repair 10 gens, etc.).

Removing perk tiers would basically make the grind exactly 3x less, and you could get good builds on all your characters much easier. But I guess then you might be grinding and playing the game less.

No one seems to play any other killer but huntress huntress huntress! the unskilled garbage ranged killer that waits for you at pallets and hits you anyways because of dedicated servers. I dced and took a 6 hour queue ban, i'd rather wait 6 hours then play against garbage like that. if BHVR is incompetent enough to not fix Nurse bugs for years, then this will not change, their only primary focus is releasing chapters and rehashed skins no one asked for. Inb4 Corporate Whiteknight comes in my discussion.

I DC'd and took a 6 hour ban. LMAO, you don't just get 6 hour bans for nothing, thanks for admitting to us all you've been DC'ing a LOT to have stacked up such a ban. The highest I ever had was 30 minutes, and even I thought I DC'd too much.

Also, go and play Huntress at red or even purple ranks and rack up a winstreak, and tell us again how she takes no skill. She probably has as much counterplay as any Killer.

As survivor, if I find the hatch first, but the killer has time to look for it after hooking the only other remaining survivor, then the hatch goes to the killer despite them NOT finding it first.

Let whoever finds the hatch first be able to bury it in leaves/debris. It becomes invisible to the opponent(s) until it springs open.

With this, change keys. They no longer open hatches. Make breakable walls breakable doors. Survivors with keys can open the doors and close them behind themselves, making the killer choose to break it or go another route.

Now, Windows of Opportunity has a reason to show survivors the auras of breakable walls.

Solved three problems... You're welcome! 😁

"As survivor, if I find the hatch first, but the killer has time to look for it after hooking the only other remaining survivor, then the hatch goes to the killer despite them NOT finding it first."

Not always, the survivor has a bit of an advantage in that they can search for the hatch whilst the Killer is engaged with defending gens and chasing other survivors. I think if you have located the hatch, and remember where it is, you have a good chance of getting their first, unless you're just unlucky and the Killer happens to hook the last survivor in that area

Wait, Swiffer is an issue because it is the only thing preventing tunnelling from having a 100% winrate?

Sounds more like Swiffer is the solution and tunnelling is the problem, tbh.

I think he was making out tunnelling was a problem and SWF wasn't, so I was comparing the two and saying if tunneling was more of an issue, then you'd see every Killer win "pro" games (lots of them tunnel, and they don't win)

I think they are both an issue, just had a problem with OP making out SWF wasn't an issue worth complaining about.

Oh, wow, I knew it was a meme. I didn't realize it came from Behavior itself. That is crayy!

But seriously, the mindset of stress is the problem. Survivors are your bottom by design, even if they can loop you for 5 gens. Their whole goal is to flee like a rat. How could you possibly be stressed when their biggest power play is to flash a light in your eyes? Lul.

No the biggest power play is 3-4 of them escaping and causing you to "lose"/depip

Pressing CTRL and clicking a flashlight shouldn’t be labeled as “ruining someone’s experience.”

It's reductionist to say "It's just pressing CTRL".

It's like me walking into a bar and flipping off random people in the bar, and saying, oh I was just extending my finger in your direction.

Actions have meaning, that is what language is. 99% of people who teabag know what it means. It's funny because I've noticed that the streamers who do this are the ones who only play Survivor. The ones who play both sides do not.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/274654/red-ranks-hypocrisy

Yeah, rank 1 killers should use their istincts to realise the team in their lobby is a solo team and so they need to change build last minute and make it more solo Q friendly so everyone can live happily ever after

Why not complain about solo Q not being balanced instead of blaming killers who can't even know who they are facing?

This. Not only is it risky to adjust your build based on if you think it isn't SWF, but you often don't know it is SWF until it is too late and 3 gens pop.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2443921#Comment_2443921

    Well let's agree to disagree.

It's valid to be annoyed by SWFS, but crying about them while enjoying the more common part of the spectrum, the solo q disaster is kinda dumb for me.

Well it is enjoyable to win, and sometimes, good solo queue players can still be a challenge, and bring you down to 0/1/2 gens. You mention about Otz winstreak, sure he gets to 50 wins, but it's not like ALL of those wins are complete annihilations. Yes he has some games where he kills everyone before they can do a single gen, but he also has lots of games which are still challenging. That is why people watch him, and that is why not everyone has 50 win streaks on almost every Killer.

So I don't think it's dumb, as you say, for someone to enjoy winning against Solo players. In fact, that was literally what the game was designed for.

People are more likely to complain about something that causes them distress, which is why people complain about SWF. It makes sense to me.

Yes, Solo Queue will usually lose, yes the balancing of the game needs adjusting to make Solo Q easier, and SWF less strong, but it's not easy to give Solo Queue tools which won't make SWF even stronger. And while at high ranks, a large portion of the players ARE playing in SWF, you are going to see people running these strong anti-SWF builds, and unfortunately for Solo Q, you are going to get rolled by them, as the Killer often has no idea it is a SWF until it is too late.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2443897#Comment_2443897

Still, I believe that we can agree that most of the killers that cry about SWFS, are doing that after they played against solo q teams usually which are in the bottom of the food chain. If you as a killer get to play against the bottom of the food chain mostly, why would you keep crying after you face a strong team who can challange you? Even I beat 4 mans sometimes if i play smart and barely do mistakes.

No not really, I think most people complain about SWFs for valid reasons, regardless of how often they are actually playing against them.

Adding a party indicator in the post game lobby would be good so Killer's could be educated on when they've lost to a SWF and when it was solo or partially solo.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2443853#Comment_2443853

No. but I know many people who play the game and most of them are killer mains and all of them told me that they don't encounter strong swfs a lot of times, usually duo but never a full 4 man, and even if it's a 4 man there are always 1-2 weak links that u can abuse.

Also I'm saying that as a guy who plays killer a lot in red ranks and i can agree with them. maybe we should do a poll in this forum about this.

No because a poll isn't going to be that much better data than you simply saying "my friends said this". A poll can still be biased and isn't going to give us a real indication of the whole community (a very small portion of the player base goes on these forums).

    @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2443853#Comment_2443853

Also, if strong 4 mans were so common, otzdarva and people as him would never get 50 win streaks in a row that easily, u can see in his streams how rarely he faces a strong 4 man and usually stomp pubs.

You are making out as if the games are either a sweaty SWF with 20K combined hours, or Solo Q potatoes who fail skill checks and dive hooks. The reality is something in the middle. You can get solo Q games where the players are actually good, and you can also get SWFs which are actually just casual and playing the game for fun.

Also it doesn't have to a be a strong 4-man, a well co-ordinated 3 man, or even 2 players together can create problems even for a good Killer, especially if they are not running strong slowdown builds.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2443843#Comment_2443843

Oh yeah, cause every SWF is made of 4 god survivors who play sweaty and can loop the killers in a pro level, I forgot.

    My agenda is this:

Yes, a strong SWF is hard for every killer. but a solo q team is usually easy for every competent killer, they are matched 10x more against solo q teams that they beat than sweaty good loopers team yet still cry a lot.

Can I see the statistics you have access to where you saw that you are 10x more likely to get a solo Q team than a SWF team? Since you must have access to some data directly from the game developers.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2443820#Comment_2443820

SWF Is not an issue once you bring to the table the tunneling/massive gen regression arsenal. it is an hypocrisy because all the killers that are crying here aren't crying when they destroy a solo team with their bamboozle bubba or tinkerer slide blight.

I prefer playing with friends not because of the escaping part but because I know that the 2 minutes I've ran the killer wouldn't go to waste because some a noob3 wannabe nea is chasing me for a flashy save she won't get cause the killer isn't the dumb, or survivors that just leave everything they do just to crowd near the hook to get the unhook.

SWF is an issue, if it wasn't every Killer would win any "pro" game of DBD by tunneling, but they don't.

  • The best perks on both sides have "activation conditions", e.g. BBQ requires a hook, Pop requires a hook, BT requires an unhook, Dead Hard requires you to be injured. I don't really see what your point is. Also plenty of Killer perks have punishing cooldowns and are weaker or useless because of it, e.g. Surge, Blood Echo, I could go on.

And then you have plenty of survivor perks which have no cooldown or limitation to them at all, e.g. We'll Make it works every unhook, Spine Chill works all the time, Kindred works all the time.

So yeah rubbish thread but 1/10 cause you got me to reply.

  • Nah, just in case BHVR are all like "We got the license back, it's a prank bro!!1!!1" 1 day before the things are taken off the store, and sales suddenly increased by 400%

I have Demo, and he'll already be rare enough even in his default skin, plus all of his skins are boring.

  • @Junylar said:

If you really want to explore further regions of experience - try playing soloQ. That's where the sweet, sweet suffering lies.

Nah, solo Q is suffering but you can normally leave a game blaming someone else (e.g. my teammates went down in 2 seconds, my teammates didn't do gens, the Killer camped me) and still feel good about yourself, as a result I find Solo Q way more chill than playing Killer.

  • One does not simply stop a DBD killer session in a good mood

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

And the best designed one, tho not the strongest?

For strength, in first position, it's definitely Pyramid Head. If you get tormented, you'll get tunneled and he can prevent hitting borrowed time survivors jumping in a locker. Then it's cage, go across the map, kill. The best tunneler in dbd imo.

I think he stays in second position as the best licensed killer for design, but the first goes to demogorgon maybe. I dunno, Demo, Nemesis and Pyramids, as amount of features they bring into the game, they are almost in the same position!

Second position in strength imo it's demogorgon, followed by Clown/Nemesis, Bubba/Freddy, Pig/Myers, and last Ghostface, since apart from exposing you and crouching and making the red stain disappear doesn't have a real chasing ability and his power is too much depending from recharge add ons

Clown isn't a licensed killer, btw

  • There definitely should be more game modes. Potentially something were survivors are competing against each other (could be their main or secondary objective) which would also lessen the importance of SWF.

  • @xenotimebong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2428154#Comment_2428154

Why do you assume they were greeding? Firstly there are challenges that involve the hatch, and secondly there are situations where the gates spawn close together and the hatch spawns far away, so if the killer is patrolling and the last survivor is injured, or if they’re being chased near hatch, the hatch is their best hope of escape.

Well, even if it is for a challenge, the challenge is to get extra points in the long run, or to advance in the rift, so technically it is still taking on extra risk in order to greed. That is the risk of waiting for the hatch.

Your 2nd example, if they exit gates are close together and they are injured, well in this scenario, the Killer will obviously be camping the gates, given that they are close together, so it is very easy for the Killer to push the survivors who are in the exit gate out of the game, as they have no reason to not be in that area next to both gates, so in this scenario, the person camping the hatch is very likely to get the hatch escape.

Your 3rd example is not relevant, the OP clearly described someone who was standing next to the hatch and waiting, so this should not really include someone who is getting chased near the hatch, it basically implies someone is in that area, has the choice to move away from it, but is deciding to wait by the hatch.

  • It is funny because people standing on Hatch were greeding for the extra few points from a hatch escape, and end up losing the 5K escape bonus. Sometimes when you greed, you lose everything

  • Late last night I was getting very quick survivor queues and waiting about 4 minutes for Killer queues, which was the exact opposite of how it used to be

  • If I understand correctly (probably not?), stretched res is done by an external program so is impossible to prevent from the game itself, so posting on this forum isn't going to change much

I think people would actually be surprised how many swfs they destroy

Well it goes both ways I think, you'd be surprised at how good solo Q can be sometimes (I often win playing solo Q), and you'd also be surprised at how many people are playing casually with friends in a team

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 32
