He probably had mercy on them because their teammates were potatoes.
They were the potatoes. Of course, they were rank 16's to my rank 8, so I don't hold it against them.

I’m the OP of the post “Killers and Tunneling” worth a read to understand my title.
Anyways a little rant:
i take back all I said about Killers and Tunneling. Survivors are literally beyond toxic in this game. Playing against red rank SWF is the most annoying thing about this game. I would rather encounter a tunneling or hook camping killer than continue to be queue’d with the survivors I have been lately.
My Experiences go like this:
- Join Lobby.
- 4 survivors queue in
- no toolbox; so, no suspected “gen-rush”
- match starts
- I encounter a stray Feng, who’s just running in circles
- She Sprint Bursts as I approach, leaving me confused, but I’ve seen this before.
- Chase ensues and I land a hit.
- Another Feng runs by and scrambles the scratch marks.
- I hit her. Down her. Hook her.
- The other self-cares.
- I walk away. BOOM!
- unhook.
- I run back and hit the Feng that unhooked.
- The other comes by and scrambles the marks.
- 1 gen done.
- I get looped by two Fengs, I drop the chase and go check gens.
- Chase a Claudette.
- Down her. Hook her.
- Instant unhook. Followed by body blocks. (Fengs of course)
- *fast forward*
- 1 gen remains. All totems on map destroyed so no hope for NoED.
- I patrol the last 4 gens in a line.
- Of course, both Fengs continue to gen tap trying to bait me into a chase.
- I don’t chase as I’m already annoyed by them.
- Last gen finished. I down the Claudette at the gate (death hook)
- Both Fengs start a chase. I down one, hook her.
- i camp, because...
- gates open. Feng unhooks Feng and attempts a body block.
- I down the injured Feng after a failed DH at the Exit Gate.
- BAM DECISIVE ######### STRIKE
- They proceed to T-Bag at the exit.
- The other survivor across the map at the other exit gate proceeds to spam vaults or whatever
- Finally leaves after I don’t come.
End of Match:
matchmaking logic:
Rank 2 Survivor
Rank 2 Survivor
Rank 1 Survivor
Rank 2 Survivor
Rank 6 now 7 Killer (I’ve de-ranked 3 ranks now, which I’m fine with as long as I eventually get placed with survivors trying to enjoy the game and not be toxic.)
My brother has seen the LIGHT!! Told you man. When you encounter these groups, it's the most frustrating game known to man and it will drive to be the dirtiest player in the game.
-
I've had people gripe because I let someone other than them get hatch or the door, but the thing is that I have to get at least a black pip. I usually don't feel bad for them if they make a mistake, since they have so many tools to allow them to come back from a mistake.
I feel bad when they have DC's or potato teammates. Last night I was playing and I got total morons on my team. It was a slugging legion, and while I was looping, two of my teammates kept trying to pick each other up right in front of him, which of course he wasn't having. Me and the other guy doing gens got killed, and in spectate, the legion was farming with them. That was irritating since he went full tryhard on me and the other guy.
So yeah, mercy can be situational.
-
I've been kicked in the jewels a few times on those stupid trapper challenges. One time I got it, but forgot to switch to to proper challenge. Second time, I had all but one, they wrecked me, I set a trap in front of one at the exit gate and booked it to the other side of the map. She disarmed it and escaped.

that makes no sense after like 200 hours of dbd nothing is really scary about the game regardless of the killer power
I've needed the brown pants after coming across a jumpscare Meyers.
-
Same reason why I got a 2K and depipped because the survivors gen rushed and I was using Plague.
-
Survivors want a bunch of 110MS M1 killers that they can bully, teabag, flashlight click, then escape. The problem is that the devs show questionable decision making and intelligence and are practically giving it to them. Hence long survivor queues.

@BloodMoneyMerc said:
@Quol the Nurse/Huntress comparison does not make sense. A good Huntress can still be looped and ran around by good survivors. A good nurse literally eliminates the effectiveness of pallets for good survivors. Yes not all Nurse's are good, but the ones that are good show how much potential Nurse has when played correctly.
@Immoral First off Wraith is a he not a she. Second off just because he can be fast doesn't mean he's powerful. Hillbilly is fast too and can actually attack right away while Wraith has to uncloak. Wraith has potential, I just don't feel he is viable enough. He is essentially a weaker Ghost Face at base.
@Zoldyar given a good team of survivors there are killers that are generally hopeless and stand no chance. The only killers that can overcome that situation are the A's and Nurse. The rest either have to really rely on capitalizing on mistakes or the player's ability to control the situation.
Trying to use pallets on nurse is dumb and you deserve to die if you try. Her true weakness is open field jukes, sprinting in a straight line and hiding behind stuff she can't blink through.

I agree, this is the real issue here, not losing in general. It's just not fun when you're facing much more experienced opponents who stomp and will use every chance they get to rub the salt in the wound too. Losing is okay but not having a chance at all is not.
a killer with 100 hours played facing people who have 2k hours played and their profiles are full of dbd achievements? Not okay.
Exactly. I have 117 hours in the game, maybe 70 of that is killer. I feel like I'm better than most in my experience bracket, but I am not good enough to deal with rank 2's with thousands of hours.

@Almo said:
Regarding Nurse, the idea was to give Survivors some breathing room if they managed to juke a multi-blink. It's working fine, and Nurse is still ridiculous in the hands of an expert.
I understand that, but it's being abused to run in a straight line to the other side of the map with no chance of catching back up. Try playing basekit nurse on blackwater swamp and tell me how good she is. I know not to treat the stats as gospel, but they show her significantly under performing. Monto is ridiculous with every killer, but that doesn't mean they're good. If you want to give them a chance after making a good juke, make the fatigue on missed attacks longer.

It's just a game who cares if you lose matches oh well it happens
I enjoy playing tennis and I am pretty decent at it. However, if I were matched to Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal every single match, and lost 6-0 6-0 6-1, and had them teabagging at the net for the handshake, I really wouldn't want to play any more.
-
Yep... All night, every night. When I finally do get matched to purples, I stomp.

I play as Doctor and all. and I kinda just want players to stop DC'ing. but after ECG. it seams like this goes hand and hand after they introduced ECG. the trends of DC started to become a norm. Sadly. Punishing players for their opinion. isn't the way to go.
Thus why I try and let people hatch. I completely agree with "Ted member" here. That I can see why survivor frustration is here and they deserve some love from the company to show that survivors are what truly makes it the game. Without them. Us killers have to wait astronomical que times in the game. Thus. I want to say thank you to all survivor mains here.
Killer queue times are instant right now because of the survivor friendly attitude. Both sides need each other. Survivors need to stop whining and realize they aren't entitled to an escape, just like the killer isn't entitled to a 4K.

In actual pants crapping terror in game, scratched mirror meyers. In look and wouldn't want to meet them in real life.... Demogorgon

Gen rushing isnt real, its called playing the game. Infinite looping doesnt exist. Etc?
Try being bodyblocked by a trapper and then having a trap set under you so he can 1 hit. Yeah, theres a massive difference from how douchey killers can be vs how survs can be. Remember, you are the killer. You have the tools to do anything you want. Survs dont.
Try being hook teched by a survivor with borrowed time, and the one being unhooked has DS. Survivors aren't angels by any means.

Oh please the games so killer sided it’s absurd. As survivor you can’t do anything except loop or stealth. It’s so stupid and yet killers complain non stop.
It doesn't matter if it's killer sided or not, which it's not for reference, it's how it appears. You have to go back to september to find a killer buff, and it was for demogorgon. Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, Legion, and Oni all got significant nerfs.
The Oni was the big one, because it looks for all the world like the intentionally released him as a strong killer as a cash grab, then immediately nerfed him once sales slowed. They may not have done that, but it sure looks suspicious and it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

@Hoodied said:
This math doesn't add up
2 minutes= 120 seconds
10+50=60= 1 minute
Did I mis-read the post?
He means still 60 seconds per stage. So first hook would require a full 60, then second hook would require another full 60 to kill you.
As stated, it would guarantee a 4 man escape every time.

@Rlabotath said:
This would be good in a different game. Again, keeping with the lore of the Entity, the Killers are there to create the environment where it can harvest suffering ect. From Survivors (oversimplification.)
that being said, I like the idea, just make the target always be the obsession, and every match will always have an obsession.
It could work with the lore as well, because there can't be true suffering without hope. In the main mode, it's the hope of escaping, in this mode it's the hope of defeating the killer. Just like death not being an escape, stopping the killer won't be one either, you still wind up back at the bonfire.
Heck, maybe the timer could work like remember me. The more times you hook people, the longer it takes, the fewer you hook them, the shorter it takes. That would discourage camping and tunneling on the killer's part.
-
I'm not going to uninstall, but I won't give them another cent until this crap is fixed.
-
Lol, I'd kill for that. I DESTROY people at those ranks, because I've been getting four rank 2's with thousands of hours each with me being a rank 9 killer. Once you can hang with those guys, if they have even one weak link on their team, it's pretty much a guaranteed 3K.
-
I actually agree with this. Make it louder, but conceal scratch marks and blood. I did always find it odd that blackwater swamp had no swamp in it.
-
No killers = long wait times and poor matchmaking. If the doctor is halfway decent, it might bring a few killers back.
-
Philip the wraith, because we're both mechanics and I'd never see him.
-
He's tall, he can be heard coming from a mile away, his portals are too slow, shred is easy to dodge. He's a fun killer, but if you know what you're doing against him, he is easily countered.

Let’s see. Killers have
-faster speed, lunge, one hit down, moris, doors that regularly spawn next to each other, egc, hatch closing, stealth, invisibility, phasing, blinking, traps, etc. Yet it’s still too hard because you didn’t get an instant 4K?
survivors get to fix gens and hope not to get spotted and ran down. Maybe loop a bit or vault a few windows but you will likely go down sooner or later.
Every game I’ve played in the last few weeks has had camping, tunneling, franklins demise toting, lobby dodging killers who do nothing but try and ruin the experience for everyone else playing. Literally every game. EVERY game. You should have to work for your hike like a survivor works to escape.
The problem is that there are only a few really strong killers and most of those require a lot of skill to use. Trapper, Wraith, Plague, Legion, Doctor, Oni, Clown, Pig, and Demogorgon are all fun to play, but aren't strong enough to deal with good survivors unless used in the hands of a specialist. I'm decent with Plague and Wraith, but I can't "win" against survivors that are 8 ranks above me with them. I can put up a hell of a fight with Hag or Nurse.
So what you wind up with is a crapton of Spirit, Ghostface, Meyers, and Freddy because they're easy to play at a decent level.
Survivors have no room to talk about OP killer perks when every one of them is rocking BT, DS, Adrenaline/deadhard, and iron will.

As I said they need to do away with ranks .
Starcraft 2 has the best ranking system. Play 5 initial matches to get placed in a class. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grand Master. Once in your class, you move up and down in that class's own ranking. Get to the top and perform well, you will start playing members of the next class up, if you do well against them, you get promoted, if you do bad, you stay where you are.
-
I had the exact same thing happen to me early in my killer career. I threw on the sweatiest build I had on my best killer, then bullied the crap out of the next people I faced. Camping, tunneling, the whole 9 yards. Felt a whole lot better afterwards.
Now, that I've gotten better, I'm more like Sherlock Holmes. When they attempt to bully me... "This musn't register on an emotional level. First, abandon chase at god loops. Sweep gens for potatoes. Slug overconfident flashlight members. Tunnel off hook, burn decisive strike early. Nod head while taking them to death hook. In summary, four members dead, no gens done, much salt in chat, gg ez. Full emotional recovery for bullies unlikely. Capacity to irritate killer......neutralized"

I'm sorry, but how do you play against decent red ranks in green?
Because matchmaking is busted. I went against two Rank 2's, a Rank 3, and a Rank 5 with 9000 hours combined, with me as rank 10. Played with Wraith, got brutal killer. One kill, two on death hook.

The pickrate AND killrate tells you enough about the current state of nurse. I'm one of the few people that still mains nurse after the nerfs.
It's impossible to win against good survivors without two specific addons. Okay. Even if you hit your blinks you feel punished because of the cooldown on your cooldown. Kind of acceptable.
The worst thing is, that she is not, like you said, "a challenge". She's basically impossible to learn rn, if you don't wanna depip to brown ranks and see 80 hours of 4man escapes. I had two low rank friends that tried to learn nurse before the nerfs and now dropped her, because you feel completely powerless and punished for nothing while using her ability.
To fix that BHVR could've easily applied the cooldown on your cooldown only on actual hits. But hey, that would make her op otzdarva said. ,)
That's not entirely true. I have 115 hours in the game and I hover around rank 9 as killer, so not a god by any means. Took me about 10 matches with her to play at a decent level. Only depipped maybe 4 times in that learning period. I can now play her at a high enough level to at least get brutal, even against decent red ranks.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
Not enough people playing killer, especially at high ranks. So it's either you having to play against the red surv teams or the red surv teams having to suffer from super long queue times.
You have to go all the way back to September to find a killer buff, which was for demogorgon. The freddy. nurse, legion, and oni nerfs were all significant to their viability. Totem spawns are bugged, Peanits responds with "you have my permission not to run ruin". Sounds are bugged and matchmaking is supposedly bugged, they respond with "we will get to it after the holidays, we don't want to break it before leaving", yet they issued a hotfix for the Oni flick almost instantly.
Whether intended or not, that is a giant middle finger to killers. How they released Oni "bugged", only to nerf him into the ground after they got the money, intended or not, is a giant middle finger and it looks VERY suspicious. I think they've pretty much gotten their wish and had people go play Civilization.

@deadbodyman62 said:
I mean before recently I would say mid chapter after stranger things, matchmaking was fine for me. Quick lobbies and always matched within a rank or 2 of me. So I was fine with the system. In my case it just seems to be "broken" recently
Matchmaking was fine before the Oni nerf. I'm pretty sure this is just no one playing killer anymore, so the red rank queue just keeps going down the list until they find an open killer, regardless of rank.
-
For the past two days, if I use anything but my best killers with best addons, I get screwed over. Rank 9 killer, solid teams of rank 2 and rank 3, EVERY SINGLE MATCH. It's getting old. What really brings my piss to a boil is that BHVR was johnny on the spot for "fixing" oni, yet can't be bothered to fix this or the sound.

The devs are going to keep hearing from me until they do the right thing and balance this game.
DbD is three years old and map design is still abysmal.
There is a worst case scenario. They're incapable of balancing the game.
-
Depends on your definition of winning. If it's pipping, then survivor definitely always wins. If it's kills, I get more kills than people escaping.
-
Oh yeah, I love taking down a cocky SWF, especially when I am miles below them in rank.

Exactly. Dev's don't know what they are doing when they balance the game
The devs for this game are more useless than congress. The matchmaking alone proves that.
-
She has no map pressure, she has no move speed, she has no lunge, she will blink into the basement at total random and the autoaim coming out of blink targets everything except the survivor. Playing her on lerys is like getting a pineapple slowly shoved up the back door. The only map where she's truly OP is The Game, everywhere else, she's a joke.

Wow you are such a crybaby that just wants people to feel sorry. Like you are fine nothing's happened to you it's just them talking.
Also you are bad at the game if you are trying to find some way to twist survivors being mean into an excuse to camp.
I look at it as punishment for something they got away with earlier. Is anyone really innocent in this game?
-
Had a guy being an overall pain in my butt. I was playing wraith and I couldn't catch him because of his looping skills. He also kept chain blinding me at pallets and then vanishing into thin air. I had two people dead when the generators finished. Caught flashlight guy and a claudette at the gate. I downed claudette and took her to the basement, but no sign of flashlight guy. While chasing him, I had seen the hatch, very near to the door they were at, so I knew he was leaving her to die.
Waited until she was seconds from dying, then booked it to the hatch where flashlight guy was waiting. I body blocked the hatch, closed it, then killed him. It was glorious. He was a little salty.
Close second was getting a 2K, should have been a 3K if not for an impossible to win moment with DS, against a team of rank 2's against my rank 9.
-
Hmm, character is tough. I would say Nathan Drake or Kyle Katarn.
-
I played a match last night with trapper for the archive, and he is my worst killer. I went in with padded jaws. Rank 9 vs a team of red ranks. I had one survivor making it his mission in life to disarm every trap I set, and I obviously wasn't trying too hard.
I caught one, I trapped the crap out of him and camped him. Got the kill, and they had the nerve to tell me I didn't have to camp him. Even though the doors were 99% and they had borrowed time.
-
@Skywclu said:

But I still feel like moris are more powerful than keys because for a mori you only have to hook the person once. For keys you have to get a few gems done.
Like many things in this game, they're not bad when used solo, but OP when used by a team of SWF. Three gens can be done in the time it takes for one hook. Genrush, rainbow map, and a couple of keys can have the match over in 3 minutes.
