So... You took your frustrations on people that have done nothing wrong to you? How mature.

Absolutely, because they were trying flashlight saves too. Oh, the game after that, everyone was running a flashlight, so I used franklins to screw their day up., The point here is there are too many tools for survivors to be bullies, which is idiotic in a horror game. Then there's the fact that a level 10 should NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be going against red ranks. Someone like me is only going to take so much BS before dealing it back out.

Not yet. I want them to fix important bugs and glitches before they add penalties.

There are still instances of people getting stuck and either forced to DC or just sit there and do nothing.

Sanctum of Wrath is also too dark. I have a colorblind friend who can't see anything in that map and it is legitimately unplayable.

Not to mention other occasions where dedicated servers might just cause someone to inexplicably drop.

I want people to be banned for dc'ing, but not if they're innocent.

I'm colorblind as well, and yeah, that map is a pain. I just power through it. Wish they would add a colorblind mode.

  • I just had back to back matches against 5's and 6's as a rank 11 killer. First game, they ran me ragged and all four escaped. Second match, I got a 3K, and a hit right as the 4th got hatch. It doesn't really bother me much though, I enjoy fighting outside my weight class, since it makes me a better killer.

  • Hag is my favorite. Knowing the pants crapping terror when the trap springs, then the panic when you try to run and keep tripping more traps. Spirit is also fun when you successfully mindgame someone. Scratched Mirror Meyers is my favorite add on build, it's just so dirty.

  • Ormond is my favorite map as both survivor and killer. I'm red/green colorblind, so things like bloodtrails and freddy snares are difficult on the other maps, but really pop on Ormond.

If we still had the kill 2.25 ranking system... I think it is fine... for the best killers... a lot of killer perks need a buff... you need ruin or knock out on a high mobility killer. There’s basically no other way.

I showed the devs my controller settings (on PC) and that could help console... if the dev’s take them serious abit... I was playing R6S for 3 months... hit plat 3 for the 2nd time... the devs there basically responded with nerfing the guns I use (heavily harsh on me) despite being able to prove I was using the hardest guns in the game... the rest are brain dead easy to use and yeah... they don’t really see the potential of cross-play actually being plausible... plat 3 is like coming to the end of the line of solo-que... plat 1 probably being the very last mark for it. With the DS5 and new xbox controller generation which will have better analogues it’s probably enough to tighten the gap enough.

I basically slaved over making comfortable/competitive settings as best as I could.

The pip system is the problem here. You outplayed them, got a 4K and deranked. There was NOTHING you could do about it. You need time to pip, but they give survivors the tools to cut the time down to nothing. Get a SWF with brand new parts and no ruin and the gens will be done in under 5.

A handful of matches where you feel like 💩.

Didn't say you would be good after those.

I've played a handful of matches with her, she's still garbage.

depip with 4k... I’ve stuck with this build as ruin goes in 30 seconds every match I bring it and I’m stuck at rank 5... I think this is the fastest gens have gone for me personally.

Bah, according to Peanits, you can do FINE without ruin. You have his permission to not run it.

  • When you nerf the killers into the ground and have both survivor mains and the devs basically tell you to "git gud", you wind up with fewer killers. I still have fun playing killer, so I enjoy the instant lobbies. I have found a hard counter to long wait times though, try to read a book while waiting, the game KNOWS that I want to finish a page and it gives me a lobby.

Hate to break it to you but it takes more than 80hrs to even learn how to play killer in general correctly. Cool down or not, Nurse is not for beginners. She's a hard killer to pick up and those first handful of matches you play as her are going to be the worst ones you will ever play in this game.

Bottom line, not every killer needs to be accessible.

I disagree. I've done well against players well above me in rank with Trapper, Meyers, Ghostface, Hag, Spirit, and Plague. This game isn't that complicated once you learn the maps, move speeds, and lunge ranges. I understand not picking up a killer and being an instant god, but you should at least be able to make it competitive, otherwise it's absolutely no fun for killer or survivor.

On top of that, if 80 hours isn't enough to play killer well, a "handful of matches" certainly isn't going to be enough to be competitive with nurse.

Nurse takes skill and practice. Once you have that she is S tier no doubt about it

Billy requires skill and practice, but he can still be picked up by a beginner and at least get a kill or two on a team of noobs. I'm sorry, but when a rank 11 killer with 80 hours in the game can't get a single down against a team of 15's, you've screwed up the character. I've literally had more fun being facecamped.

  • Camping is situational depending on survivor attitudes and character I'm playing. Hag is a natural camper/tunneler. Her movement speed is so slow, that you rely on trap teleports, and a hooked survivor is a great place to load down with traps. An overly altruistic team is like picking low hanging fruit.

Ghostface is a natural camper as well. When I play Spirit, I will mindgame the crap out of people. Hook a survivor, fake my power, wait for anyone close to run over and make the save. I will also wait for the unhook and make a guess with the haunting.

If survivors are being toxic with butt dancing, pointing, flashlights and running me on an infinite, I will start playing dirty. If I'm being gen rushed, I will also start playing dirty, because the easiest way to get them off the gen is to have them trying to unhook a friend.

That's my problem. Nurse was always at the top tier in terms of skill needed to play her well. Sure, you could eliminate that with omega blink, but base kit? Skill was involved. Players who say there isn't are either lying, or simply playing badly.

I personally always wanted to do well with her, but I admit that I didn't have the talent for her. It wasn't just about knowing her power, it was knowing the map, the specific tile you're on, what perks your target may have, what they're thinking, and so on. A lot of info needed to be processed in a short amount of time. So, high skill cap. That was raised even higher with the cooldown.

I pulled her out myself for the first time in ages (I still had that cake from the anniversary event in her bloodweb). Wanted to see what the nerfs had done for her now that they've settled. Like you, it was miserable. The team I was up against wasn't all that skilled, but they were able to make a lot of escapes because I had to wait the extra four seconds for the cool down. Not to mention missed blinks and missed swings.

Nurse isn't fun. There are simply too many restrictions placed on her to be enjoyable. Sure, some people can make her work, but most of us can't. Just how many Nurse matches have any of us gone up against since her nerf? For me? Three. Out of the hundreds I've played, I can clearly recall every one, and it only adds up to three. She can be good in the right hands. But is she fun? No.

For me personally, Billy is a difficult killer because his chainsaw torque steers like crazy. I understand that he's a top tier killer with great control, and I don't have that. Even still, I can at least get one or two kills with him and he's decently fun to play as.

I've played against two nurses, both of which never got a hit off on me. She just has too many downsides. Unpredictable blinks, cooldowns, slow movement, and no visibility during a chase.

  • Unless you're using spirit, legion, or nurse, you can be a godlike killer and still get pallet looped for 3 gens on certain maps. That's where noed comes in, because if they've already used all of the pallets up, there is nothing that can save them. They will get salty, but screw em, they're abusing the mechanics of the game.

  • I tried playing nurse for the first time due to a daily, I got stuck on Haddonfield. I've had more fun being face camped by a spirit. I've had more fun on a loading screen. It was a god awful experience. When a rank 11 killer with 80 hours in the game gets two hits in the entire match on a group of rank 15 survivors, you've seriously screwed up the character.

You can talk about red ranks and having experience with her all you want, but if beginner can't pick her up and at least hook someone, you're terrible at designing a killer.

  • @John_Doe said:

Using NOED is kinda boosted tbf.

I don't run it on killers that actually have map control. Something like Demogorgon or Trapper though, oh yeah, I run it 100%.

  • Kinda like hag vs trapper. Both need to set up traps, both need to camp in order to get hits, but hag starts the game with all of her traps and she can teleport. Trapper has to look for his traps and pray that RNG will keep them in his traps. Leatherface vs Hillbilly. Identical except billy has map control.

  • I get the same thing quite often. If you're running around, teabagging and flashlight blinding me at every pallet, you can bet your life that I'm going to hook you and facecamp you. If you pallet loop me while your team gen rushes, you can bet that I'm going to camp and use my NOED, because survivors are like lemmings. 90% of the time, they will be salty at the end. I point out their hypocrisy and they still call me trash.

I might just have too many hours, I have played on a different account every now and then thats sitting between ranks 10-15 as killer and im not having any problems getting 4k's. When you're a good killer all the survivors need to be good or they will have a hard time trying to survive.

Edit: I rarely don't play in red ranks on my main account so I consider red and purple ranks to be where skilled survivors are and its usually true when i come across a swf group who has a R12 that i didn't have a hard time catching.

I'm a rank 8 survivor and a rank 11 killer with 80 hours in the game. I just went up against two rank 6's and a rank 8 as Hag. They had one gen done and I got a 3k, the last dude got hatch. On the flip side, I've gotten a team of rank 18's and and a different team of 15's that just roflstomped me.with the same killer.

devs said those stats are not reliable and it's pretty easy to know why when survivors DC constantly and the fact that playing killer is easy until you get to the higher ranks where survivors actually know what they are doing. Also the nurse nerf was way too much, she is now undesirable to newcomers who might have given nurse a try and even players who got used to her because she is just to punishing to play for even missing a single blink. Spirits nerf didn't really change how good spirit players play her since they didn't need collision to get hits at all and the addon changes don't affect how good her base kit is. As for Freddy those addons changes won't change how strong he is and survivors will still complain about him.

I don't know if I'm encountering smurfs, or just people that have a ton of hours and haven't played recently, but even in the 8-12 ranks, you get survivors that know what they're doing. Basically survivors are getting better and killers keep getting nerfed.

I tried Nurse for the first time, she's utterly impossible for a new player. Too slow, blinks take too long to charge, blinks don't go far enough, and you can't see where the survivor goes in fatigue. Basically, find survivor, sprint burst, blink, blink, swing and miss....fatigue.....survivor puts 20m on you, blink, blink, swing and miss.....fatigue....survivor puts another 20m. Didn't get a single down without the help of NOED.

Losing a survivor to DS means they were already hooked, and flashlight saves are nearly impossible as evidenced by all the people complaining that they are stuck on the quest in the archives. Those things make the game more survivor friendly, and they game has to be survivor friendly or there are going to be no matches

In case you haven't noticed, it takes three hooks to kill a survivor. So, 5 minutes to run them down the first hook. Another 5 for the DS, Another 3 to catch them again.

Don't know who these potatoes are, but one guy got three flashlight saves in one match. He stalked me the whole game, just waiting for a save, until I tunneled his butt into oblivion.

The game is already stupidly survivor friendly. If you get a survivor that knows the map, you cannot catch them, you're relying on one of his teammates to screw up. That's why you get campers and tunnelers, you force them to play your game, rather than you playing theirs.

  • Killers want a 4K and survivors want to escape every time. Killers do annoying crap like tunnel, camp, NOED, and slugging. Survivors do annoying crap like gen rush, pallet loop, teabagging, DS, BT, and obnoxious flashlight play. Everyone comes here to gripe about it.

I play both survivor and killer equally. Survivor is at the advantage for sure, so when a strong killer gets nerfed, all of the killer mains are going to be annoyed.

  • Up her base move speed or stop her from looking at the ground in fatigue. I can do 2-4K with the base setup with every killer in the game, except for her. I couldn't even down a survivor without NOED.

  • @PandaChris said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/912634#Comment_912634

Terrible idea. Not saying slugging is a great mechanic but removing slugging effectively decreases the killers ability to apply pressure. For example, you down a survivor and another survivor is really close. Well now you cant apply max pressure by chasing the other survivor because the downed one will eventually get up. This is especially bad when there are 2-3 survivors left.

That's why you increase the timer by a significant amount. If it takes two or three minutes to pick yourself back up solo, that gives the killer ample time to chase, but doesn't allow them to leave you down indefinitely.

  • @fcc2014 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/912606#Comment_912606

Increasing the objective would make slugging even stronger and more boring overall gameplay for everyone involved.

Slugging in general should be removed from the game. Every survivor should be able to pick themselves up when the recover bar is maxed. Increase the time required to do so, but still.

  • Map design is the problem. Any map that has a loop that can be safely run for more than 60 seconds needs fixing. That or if you're too lazy to fix the map, instead of blocking windows after too many uses, survivors need to suffer from the exposed effect for 60 seconds.

  • @Myers_Is_My_Dad said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/912323#Comment_912323

It's not about the person getting the unhook, it's about the person stuck on the hook with a camping killer being unable to play the game. Most people aren't masochists and don't want to play a videogame where they sit on a hook until they die in two minutes.

Do you honestly think it's fun for the killer to be run around the map for 5 minutes, while the generators go flying by, only to down the survivor you've been chasing, and lose that survivor to DS or a flashlight save? Killers wouldn't have to tunnel and camp if the game wasn't so survivor friendly.

Here's my advice, go grab a basic killer like Demogorgon or Trapper, then put yourself on a disgusting map like Macmillan. Let a single survivor run you through endless loops and pallet stuns, teabagging you every time you barely miss a swing and flashlight blinding you every time you break a pallet. Once you finally hook said survivor, you look up to realize there's one gen left, whoops, it just popped. Now, do you leave this toxic little troll to go look for others, knowing full well that the survivor is going to be rescued by someone with borrowed time and all four are going to escape, or do you face camp them, hoping to down at least one more person and get a 2 man, a safety pip, and some decent bloodpoints?

  • I too would like this feature, it's nice on Star Craft 2. Until then, Windows game bar records nicely, as does Radeon Relive.

  • So the game is chock full of safe pallet loops, a central building in every map that's practically an infinite, DS, BT, Iron Will, Adrenaline, Dead hard, sprint burst, and balanced landing. Ruin usually spawns next to a gen, thus allowing the survivors to gen rush in about 8 minutes. Even with ALL of that, you still want to be able to walk right up to the scary monster and take his/her kill? How about no...
