New game mode idea.
In every horror franchise, the survivors eventually learn of killer weaknesses and try to fight back. What if we had a mode where survivors rather than doing gens and trying to escape, were finding lore to kill the killer? It could be hidden at random places throughout the map and they would require time and skill checks to decipher it. Once they have the required pieces, a survivor is chosen to complete the ritual, which would start the EGC. That survivor would have invincibility, which is powered by the lives of the remaining survivors. They would all suffer from the exposed effect during the EGC and die on hook, plus their auras would be revealed within 20 meters. If there are no survivors remaining, the ritual survivor would have to rely on stealth. If the EGC timer runs out, the killer is defeated and the survivors escape. If the killer hooks the last survivor, he lives to terrorize another day.

It could work with the lore as well, because there can't be true suffering without hope. In the main mode, it's the hope of escaping, in this mode it's the hope of defeating the killer. Just like death not being an escape, stopping the killer won't be one either, you still wind up back at the bonfire.
Heck, maybe the timer could work like remember me. The more times you hook people, the longer it takes, the fewer you hook them, the shorter it takes. That would discourage camping and tunneling on the killer's part.
