The only thing DS has done is make me tunnel more. If I remotely suspect you have it and I get the chance, I will force you to burn it so it doesn't bite me during the EGC.
Easiest fix for it is to disable during the EGC, then it would be a perfectly fine perk.
-
Never seen the movie, but the way you describe his attack and power sounds like an utter garbage killer. Can't M1 without stalking, can't attack at all if someone is standing in a salt circle, have an exposed effect that would never come into play, and the gates open even faster for survivors.

Okay, so a survivor is hiding inside of a hooked survivor. You cannot hit them because they can't take any damage and they'll just unhook in your face during the cleaning animation. How do you beat this strategy. I'll gladly accept an answer if you have one.
Walk to the left side of the hook. Look at the hook pole and swing, hopefully you're using ghostface and can now tbag the downed survivor for being an idiot.
-
130ms isn't even that bad. On PC, I lurk around 100ms and it's fine.
-
I actually appreciate survivors waiting at the door if they give me free hits. I love it when they camp the hook, gives me a free hit or an easy down. Everything else I can agree with.
-
When I play survivor or killer, I call em like I see em. I went against a clown and a spirit that played REALLY well, but only got a 1K and I complimented them both, because they were one survivor mistake away from having a 4k. Both seemed shocked that a survivor would say anything positive. The spirit had my butt cheeks clenched all game.
Now the trapper that tunneled hardcore and went directly to where survivors were hiding EVERY SINGLE TIME without a detection perk..... He did not get a compliment.
I got a 4K as hag, but these people knew how to counter hag, it took everything I had to beat them, I 100% complimented their play.
-
As killer, I usually run Ruin, Pop, I'm all ears, and NOED/Franklins/Nurses calling. Occasionally I'll do stupid crap like insidious or iron grasp/agitation.
Survivor I usually run dark sense, self care, balanced landing, and We'll make it. The meta doesn't really interest me.

again, we’re talking about noed here. An opinion was asked on what people’s thoughts were on noed and I stated my opinion. It is a crutch perk that bad killers use. If you wish to speak about your issues as a baby killer dealing with the few half decent nerfed into the ground perks that survivors have to deal with toxic killers, make a different thread.
Actually you didn't, you came in flapping your gums, trying to bait an angry reaction. Sorry sonny, I don't get worked up over someone so....insignificant. It's been amusing to watch you try. For the record, I never said I had a problem dealing with it, I said they were survivor crutches.
Most of my games look a little something like this.. I let the last guy go at the door. Ruthless killer.

You kinda miss out on something, the only thing that nurse is good at is slugging. Put on infectious fright, put them down. One hook and end the game. No idea how this is considered healthy for the game, fun for survivors or fun for the nurse player. Utter snoozefest.
It is so easy to play against nurse by now.
Whole dev team should play this killer with her meme addons for moderately decreased, blink + lunge 1000 games straight on the new map they made. Just against skilled survivors pls.
Guarantee the devs wouldn't make it past 15 games before buffing her. I understand that the Devs can't make everyone happy, and people will gripe about different things. That said, when nurse mains hate her, new players hate her, experienced players hate her, streamers hate her, and survivors say she's fine, you probably screwed up and need to fix it.
@[Deleted User] said:
She's not the best killer anymore. The rework is awful just from a gameplay design perspective, even if we ignore power. She has to use her power to perform basic killer functions at an acceptable level. No other killer is required to do that. You wouldn't design a killer from scratch that gets stuck in place, looks at the ground, waits for the power to come back, and then moves at 96% unless they used their power. That would never make it to an alpha test phase, because most reasonable people would say that's an awful idea. They thought way too hard about this.
The added cooldown also ignores basic realities of playing Nurse against good opponents. There's this assumption among people who don't play Nurse that blinks are binary right or wrong things that are 100% Nurse-sided. When you're in the school in Badham, or playing Lery's, or at any LOS break, you're guessing to some degree. Putting a player on cooldown because they lost rock paper scissors isn't good gameplay.
The other overlooked thing is the reappearance change. Nurse players might notice that players are juking as soon as you release your blink charge in the open. This would be fine if you weren't being put on cooldown because someone else had good reaction time. This is something you put in a single player game against an AI opponent, not a PVP game with a player on the other end.
In terms of strength, I caution against judging any killer by the top percentile of performance. I 4k more often than not with Clown. That just means I'm bizarrely good with Clown. I still have games where I wreck people with Nurse. But I feel like I'm playing against the survivors, against the game, against the servers, and against the numerous unique bugs she has that I didn't go into.
Edit: I just have to ask, because we can't seem to get an answer: What is the justification internally behind putting the final say in the blink interaction firmly in the hands of survivors, and then giving the Nurse player a power cooldown on top of it? Why was it determined that saying "The Nurse is going to land in this spot" and then punishing the Nurse player if the survivor acknowledged the telegraph was the way to go? I know Nurse players have been...vocal about this, but it legitimately doesn't make sense to many of us from a logic perspective, and we feel like we were the last people considered in any of these changes.
Nurse on Lery's is painful. The LOS breaks are terrible, you can accidentally blink three rooms over, and there's a ton of stuff you can't blink through. Backwater is just as bad due to the wide open spaces to juke in.

First game I ever played as Doctor I had one survivor dead, and the rest were giving me fits. Two were injured and at the exit gate T-bagging me, I nodded my head enthusiastically. Second they tried to heal, I swung, hit one, and downed him inside the map. Picked him up and got the sacrifice. It was glorious.
-
To hit them while they're hiding behind the hooked survivor. Move to the left side of the hook, look at the pole and swing. You will hit them every time.

I want my bloodpoints, I have killers to level.

Cain would fit since the mark only craves blood. Since the mark is lock and key to Amara, it's tricky to fit in to the lore, but Supernatural has so many alternate universes and timelines that you could fit it in. On top of that, Supernatural is known for breaking it's own rules. Heck, the entity could be one of Chuck's creations for his own amusement.

Cain is pretty mindless, the mark only wants blood, nothing more. The mark being both lock and key to Amara does make it tricky to fit in, but Supernatural has so many different timelines and alternate universes, plus it's known for breaking it's own rules, I can see them fitting it in. Also the stats are dragged down by console. PC red rank nurse stats would be nice to see. Im guessing they show nurse in a good place.
Incorrect. Nurse lunge out of blink is .333 shorter than a normal killer.

Yeah I really believe they would fit well with the lore, and I would definitely not mind a killer if it's even possible. Paulie Esther even mentioned how he hears it alot about how dbd players ask for super natural alot, and i just wish the devs would just tease us with anything
The only problem I can think of is that Sam and Dean wouldn't run, Dean would go down swinging. I could ignore that though.

So basically you want a free escape, you don't want to be hit, and you want to win every chase.... You want the power role to be buffed even more...Heck, we should take away the killer's ability to attack while we're at it.

Huge Supernatural fan here and I 100% agree that they need a DBD chapter. There's a few villains that could be the killer. Yellow Eyes, Alpha Vampire, Leviathan. Cain with the first blade would probably fit into the lore of DBD quite well.

Ignorant is thinking that nurse is weak, do you play in PC :)?
And yes she does, survivors most effectives defense are pallets and windows (looping) she ignores looping cause she CAN BLINK TROUGH pallets, and she should no have her basekit back.
One of the main problem was how little time you had to lose LOS against old nurse because the fatigue was really short and could be decreased by addons, so they added the cooldown.
Old nurse base kit was Medium Risk/ High reward
And a killer that can ignore survivors defense should have a high risk / high reward.
God forbid the survivors might have to come up with a strategy other than looping. She can be juked in the open, the 360 is effective, she has a real weakness against the larger obstacles, and she's very vulnerable to mind games.
This is a typical entitled survivor mentality. "She's supposed to be hard to learn, not every killer should be easy to pick up and play".... "I don't want to learn new methods of evasion, she shouldn't be able to defeat my defenses"..

I'll admit, her lunge can be very frustrating and deceiving. After playing her for such a long time, I can usually judge when I will successfully hit a survivor but there are occasions when the lunge seems inconsistent. I think this may be more down to internet connection/dedicated servers though.
I think it's more muscle memory than anything. Her post blink lunge is .333 meters shorter than a normal lunge and it messes with people. If she had a 6 meter lunge out of blink, it would be fine. 6 meter lunge and a longer 2nd blink window and I think they resolve 99% of her issues.

[BAD WORD] this speed.
[BAD WORD] being punished for using power which is really easy to dodge.
And Dead Hard ruining her life..
I had some insult playing this garbage. Sorry for insult.
The basement teleport definitely needs work, I have looked UP and still teleported down before. Deadhard is twice as effective on her because there is no baiting it out, it's a real issue, but I don't know how you fix it.
The blink forward, then return to original spot add on needs total rework or removal, it's beyond worthless, as is the one that grants you undetectable status. I get the idea, it was meant to counter people running right at you, but people don't run right at you, because of how easy it is to abuse her cooldown. The white nit comb, dull bracelet, bad man keepsake, and spoon are also worthless.
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
The Nurse is by no means "Garbage", although she has become somewhat frustrating to play as.
The recent change to her basekit can make matches very un-fun due to the constant need to check the recovery of your blinks.
Despite this, she has retained much of her strength and is still a highly viable killer when played correctly. The Nurse takes a lot of time and practice to get good at and is very rewarding when played correctly. I agree, most of her add-ons aren't great but they aren't really needed. You'll get better the more you practice her. As a Nurse main, I wish you all the best.
Her biggest problem is the lunge, it looks for all the world like it will hit, then barely misses. I can live with everything else, but that is the biggest annoyance for me. Her second biggest problem is map pressure, which could be easily fixed by removing the 2nd blink window, allowing you to fully charge two blinks. If they could fix that, she would be fine.

In b4 a "trusted" or dev post saying "it's not about the pip, having "FUN" is how you win"
It can't be kills for killer because that would be unbalanced if they got more than 2 right?
It's not even about the depip for me, because a 1K deserves a derank, it's about being fair to both sides. If 9 hooks, 5 damaged generators, a bunch of destroyed pallets, a near maxed surprise attack score, and a strong chase score isn't enough to pip, then one gen, half a heal, and a totem sure shouldn't be enough. That's another reason matchmaking is so screwed right now, it's next to impossible to derank as survivor.
@KillermainBTWm8 said:
I agree, genrush is what makes camping a valid strategy currently. Seriously overhauling gens would lead to camping being incredibly effective making it so the easiest way for a killer to win is to just camp. So I agree camping does need to be addressed if gen speeds were adjusted.
Couple of ways you can fix that. If a killer is close to a survivor for more than 15 seconds and not in a chase, remaining members get a 33% speed bonus to all repair actions. You could also introduce a martyr score for the person on hook, say 7K bloodpoints and a lot towards pipping
@meatisadelicacy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/963966#Comment_963966
If certain killers want to camp, that game is over for a survivor. There's nothing survivors can do that makes the game unplayable for killers. It's especially fun when you wait 20 minutes for a game and then get face camped within the first 30 seconds. I guess spamming x to buy time for my teammates to do gens though while I'm face camped by a Bubba or Billy is fun and interactive.
I don't know what you mean. Just three games in a row where everyone either died on the first hook or went into struggle and then was tunneled out of the game with basement camping killers. IT'S FUN. Update - 4th game the killer DC'ed after the face camping failed due to my BT.
.A true genrush absolutely makes the game unplayable for killer. Again, all 5 gens done in under 5 minutes, you literally CANNOT pip if that happens, even if you get the 4K, you will get brutal.

He had a flashlight save on The Game. The killer could have slugged, been close enough to a wall or could just bait the survivor out... or simply looked the other direction.
It's the killers fault, flashes are easily avoidable now especially if the survivors doesn't have SB.
Uh huh, and the OP didn't have to reveal his location to the killer. He could have hidden and escaped, or at least pipped, but he chose to take the more aggressive approach and it bit him.

Nurse has hisorically always had a bad kill rate. Even before the nerf, her kill rate at all ranks was still the lowest because of console and new players. Once you learn how to play her she is a very strong killer and had one of the best rank 1 kill rates on PC.
Even at red ranks, she's not at the top. It wouldn't take much of a buff to make her better. Honestly, the cooldown doesn't irritate me near as bad as her lunge. It's like one of those scam claw machines where it looks for all the world like you're getting the prize, only to barely miss. You basically have to be sitting right on top of the survivor for it to hit.

It might be better for you to play survivor until the matching is fixed. I'm competitive to a fault and I will get mad, but I always learn and adapt. It's always satisfying to me to crush red ranks as a green rank killer with a fraction of their hours.
-
I played as rank 8 Wraith on Ormond. Didn't tunnel or camp at all, had everyone on death hook, got one kill, 23Kbps, entity displeased. Next two games, I was pissed off, so I tunneled. Both 4K games, ruthless and merciless. Played another match as plague, gens done in under 5 minutes and I tunneled just to get a single kill.
On the flip side, I played survivor at rank 9. Did one gen on my own, did one totem, got one unhook, half of a heal, three short chases and I died. 10KBPS, Black pip.
How is that remotely fair? I work my butt off as killer, play "fair", and get punished for it. Barely do anything as survivor and it's still a draw. Killers tunnel because they feel they have to, because of the gen speeds and the emblem system. Fix that and the majority of camping/tunneling will go away.
-
A few things. Ruin dying instantly is a big one. 5 gens, find survivor, chase survivor, down survivor, hook survivor, 2 gens left....
The biggest one though comes while playing nurse. Blink, blink, swing.....just missed....fatigue.....blink cooldown 1....blink cooldown 2.... Blink, blink, swing.... hit random tree instead of survivor right next to tree....fatigue....blink cooldown 1.....blink cooldown 2.

I agree about moris. I don't run them unless for a daily. Some killers take things personal, in my case, it's flashlight saves. This killer might have mori'ed him either way, but I am sure the flashlight save didn't help his case.
-
That's a matchmaking problem, not a killer problem. Keep your cool, don't chase one for too long, try your best to at least black pip, and play the strongest killer you can. Plague is pretty good against the red ranks and easier to play as. The more you play against these kinds, the better you get.

Lmao. “I’m a pretty good killer, rank 7” Omegalul. If you look at dh as a crutch perk which extends a chase by what 2 seconds? Also dh and ds can be EASILY read that they have it based on movement so as a “pretty good killer” those perks should be cake walks to play against for you. Additionally if you look at ds as another crutch perk boy do I have a story to tell you about old ds. The perk is nerfed into the ground and AT MOST offers 60 second window safety which isn’t much at all.
you’re arguing for a point that is invalid. Noed is a crutch perk for bad killers. Ds lasts for a shorter time (more times than not) and you have to hit a small skill check box in order to use it. Dh has to be timed right to use properly. What is there about noed that has any sense of “skilled gameplay” when all you have to do is M1. Your argument is invalid and you should be ashamed of yourself for using the perk.
Calm down junior, I already said that it's not up to me to say if I'm good or not, that's really up to my opponents. All I will say is that I have a strong success rate against red rank survivors and I've had more than one red rank survivor compliment my play.
DH extending a chase by 2 seconds.... Only if used in the open. If used at a loop or near a pallet, it can very much extend the chase by 30 seconds or more. Many times, reading it or not, it gives the survivor enough room to make it to the next loop or pallet. It can be downright devastating to nurse.
As for DS, it's not a crutch unless it's used when the doors are open. If you down them, they can crawl to the open door in that 60 seconds, and you can't pick them up. Zero counter play.
-
Every man for himself. If I get to the gate, I will leave. If I'm the guy being chased, I prefer for my team to leave, give me a chance at hatch. Had that situation the other night, two members got tunneled to death, my teammate got the gate open, but I was on the other side of the map. He left, and I got hatch.

My opinion. This is not necessarily the opinion of the dev team as a whole.
In games where it matters the most, the Survivors had time to do the totems. I'm referring to games where the gens get done pretty fast, with maybe 2 hooks total. Suddenly there's urgency, and the Killer might get 2 kills out of it. In those cases, the Survivors should have said to themselves... "Hmm maybe we better do totems since we're way ahead of the curve."
And that's usually when it's most valuable. If they gen rush hard, there's pretty much no chance of securing more than one kill unless you have it. If they're doing totems, you at least have a chance at a black pip.

He brought a Mori to begin with. And this has happened to me on multiple occasions regardless on whether I've had a flashlight or not... I play killer as well and I know how easy it is to avoid a flashlight save, it's just 2nd nature to face a wall but it's a bit difficult to avoid being farmed by a teammate and moried of hook. If I teabagged or something after I'd get it
I find Mori's to be distasteful and only run them if I have a daily, then I only kill one person. I've faced the wall before, where I can only see wall and my weapon, still got blinded by those ridiculous 90* flashlights. Plus you can't do anything if there is no wall to face.
I really don't care that much about t-bagging or even abusing the god loop, but flashlight plays are guaranteed to make me as toxic as utterly possible.

You are biased and looking to start a fight.
You refuse to see any facts but the one's that support your argument.
The Devs went on holiday because it is Christmas. They knew of the issues beforehand and likely started working on a fix. However, they did not want to risk further breaking the game by pushing out an untested patch before going on holiday, therefore potentially leaving a completely broken game for 2 weeks. They chose the wise route of waiting and pushing out a better product later. Unfortunately, it seems some people cannot wait and would rather have a game that does not work at all.
I get it, it is frustrating. Trust me, I know. You just have to suffer through it.
They left it as a completely broken game. How many players do you think they lost due to brand new killers waiting 20+ minutes only to get destroyed by survivors they shouldn't be playing against? By your logic, they never should have put out Oni so close to their break. They have zero effs to give about their playerbase, they got a cash grab with Oni and called it a day.

This game is completely broken. So many things were made unbalanced on both the survivor and killer side that they havent fixed. I get into a game, a wraith finds someone. I save them with my flashlight (not being toxic or anything just a general save) and now im getting chased, alls fair atm. I get hooked at 3rd gen and another survivor runs over to me and farms me... this is fine i think, i have DS. Well no, I get moried straight off first hook and dont stand a chance. How on earth is that fair that ive now lost a flashlight and a pip because of things beyond my control. Am i meant to run the killer around for all 5 gens and escape?
Mess with the bull, you get the horns. Flashlight saves are EXTREMELY annoying and I have absolutely no mercy when someone does it.

IMO, I am a pretty good killer, but that's really not up to me to say. 130 hours in, Rank 7 right now, playing as GF, Nurse, Hag, Plag, and Wraith, so not really "main" kind of killer. I usually run Ruin, Pop, I'm all ears, and either franklins, NOED, or nurses calling. I frequently get 2-4ks against ranks 1-8 survivors. NOED is insurance. I just played a match as wraith on Ormond and I didn't run NOED. I had everyone on death hook, one kill 23K bloodpoints and got an entity displeased. Had I been running NOED, probably would have pipped.
Even really good killers like Tru3 and Monto can get stuck with 3 man escapes.

Yeah perks that are in the game JUST to reward the killer for playing like ######### should definitely be in the game. (Sarcasm)
Like dead hard? Oh crap, the killer won a mindgame at a window, better press the easy button. Whoops, I got greedy at a loop, where's that easy button again? DS? Oh man, the killer got me right at the end game, oh wait, I have a free escape button.

No it's entirely true. Every single game I've had against a NOED killer in the past 6 months has been a bad killer that chases one person all game (not tunneling just refusing to give up a chase).
And yes killers can apply pressure. It's called spreading the damage. Hit and run. Injure survivors can catch them out of position. I do it. I see good killers do it. If you really think you can't apply pressure to the entire group then you must not be a very good killer.
I don't do that and I run NOED a good bit.

It is a crutch perk for killers. Ultimately if you rely on this perk to get kills, then it will prevent you from ever getting better at the role. But if you are using it because you use nothing to slow down the game then I don't see it as a major crutch, just a minor one (before people yell at me, yes I do believe survivors have crutches too). I particularly dislike it when playing survivor if it is on a one hit down killer such as Billy or Michael. The fact that people feel the need to use an insta-down perk on a killer that can already insta-down is kinda sad and I wish we could teach people how to use the power better so they no longer feel the need to run this perk on one hit down killers. But ultimately, each player paid their money for the game and they can play it how they see fit as long as they aren't cheating
Again, it's cheap insurance vs gen rush, BT and others.

Survivors run the sweatiest perks they can find, then proceed to complain when killers do the same. I use it on a lot of killers if I don't have better perks.
