Ive gotten old Borgo, it still is there, there is just another map added to that Realm.

is it because you tried to blind someone before running up that hill of yours and then discovered DUNH DUNH DUNH they had lightborn?
No, it's because I can just stare at a wall to prevent a blind. It accomplishes the exact same thing without wasting a perk slot.
Flashbangs/Firecrackers are too niche and I hardly see them in my matches, nor do they ever warrant bringing Lightborn.
-
I have played many, many games and have yet to get the new map.
-
I mean it isnt bad if you know when and where to use it, since the Skeletons can be spawned directly on a Survivor and instantly take a health state from them; with the only counterplay being predicting this and crouching ahead of time, which can be made more difficult with LOS blockers.

I pick a survivor up, walk for 3sec and see you sabo hook#1. Then I just go for hook#2. I still have 13sec left to walk to a hook. Even if you tank a hit, I still have 9sec left.
When a sabo requires a health state, its already worse than a flashlight save.
And Flashlights can be avoided by staring at a wall?
Sabotaging happens after the pickup and just requires the Survivor to be close by and the follow the Killer while they are carrying. Yes they might have to sacrifice a health state but at least it is consistent to pull off, and trading a health state to outright prevent a hook (and potential tunnel/camp) is insanely strong.
The only counterplay is dropping the Survivor, but at the same time you still have to wait for the Sabotage action to burn through their toolbox (otherwise you literally accomplish nothing), which in some situations (and depending on the perks), can take awhile before it happens and still has the risk of the Survivor wiggling off (thanks to Breakout, which got a buff awhile back).
The reason why people are not messing with the Sabotage changes is not because it is bad, but because we literally just got DnD in the game. DnD has a massive community and a LOT of people love it, so of course it will get the spotlight over anything else.
Ive toyed around with the Sabo changes myself, and I think it is quite strong, though these are still just my initial thoughts on the matter.

I unironically think Weave Attunement is going to be a bit underrated. Sure, it's a pretty bad perk that no one will run… and THAT'S why it's great. Since no one will run it, no one will know what it does, and then they'll try to mind game around a dropped toolbox and have absolutely no idea the Killer has wallhacks on them. Otherwise, pairs well with Franklin's, and that's about it.
Languid Touch is probably his best perk, but you really don't need an Exhaustion perk, and if no one has an Exhaustion perk, it's a wasted slot.
Dark Arrogance doesn't feel impactful enough, either positive or negative. I barely felt the 25% extra stun and the vault boost is negligible. Just run Bamboozle. It's only slightly worse, has a better effect and DOESN'T have a downside.
Weave Attunement is amazing on Vecna. Rolling a low number gives Survivors half-used or fully-used items, and most of the time Survivors just take them and leave them around.
I also think it could work for Wesker as well seeing how people normally leave Spray Cans around.
-
The Generator progression you get is good but I reckon most people still wont use it since it leaves you permanently broken the entire match and pretty much advertises to the Killer, "Hey, go to the basement, someone just used an Invocation".
-
Why exactly does this matter?
Distance isnt an issue if you are using a Fully Charged Hatchet anyways considering the fact that you most use those if the Survivor is far away (or you are holding to zone).
Most of the time you dont really use Fully Charged Hatchets in situations where distance actually matters… the only case where it would matter is zoning, but Survivors lose distance by trying to avoid the Hatchet throw anyways.

dont disrespect lightborn like that.
Lightborn is a bad perk and I will 100% die on this hill.
-
Give it a year or two and I reckon Invocations will fade into obscurity and nobody will care about them at all, since the only spot that is consistent across all maps is the basement, I really dont know how they can diversify Invocations without making them all feel the same.

It was bhvr's poor attempt to add counterplay to coh so they didn't need to nerf it.
Now it's just outdated because coh got the nerfed it needed and is no longer an issue to need such a hard counter.
It also doesnt help that Boons are an entirely underutilized mechanic. After the first wave of Boon perks, it took us a long time before we actually got another, BHVR seemingly forgot about the mechanic as a whole until Alan Wake came around.
-
I think you might want to talk to BHVR Support about this.
If I am remembering correctly, this is the support website: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I hope this helps your situation!

Removing Lockers negatively affects Head On and Dredge. Instead we need the ability to have a different interact bind for it. DBD already doesnt use many buttons on K&M and Controller so it's not like it will mess too much up either.

There is a difference between "not fun" and "too strong". Skull Merchant is strong, but not too strong. Yet she is really unfun to go against.
Part of it is most likely due to her reputation, she will never lose this. But even reworked Skull Merchant is really not enjoyable to play against, regardless of her strength.
I personally dont like her since she is the definition of "the illusion of choice".
You stop in place or crouch to avoid being hit with her power thus not giving her a free health state or avoiding the Hindered effect… but in the process of doing that, you are slowed down and still have the potential to be hit. Regardless of what you do, youll still be slowed down and youll still be hit eventually, hence why it's the illusion of choice.
None of this is even covering the fact that Chess Merchant is still a thing that people do. :(

I'd love to randomize Killer.
It'd finally get a lot of people out of their comfort zones and understanding different Killer's issues.
It'd also make me happy because now I don't have to pick :)
Chaos Shuffle is honestly a good gamemode for learning the game since you are exposed to a wide variety of perks and the gameplay styles that come with them.
One of my friends is still really new to the game and they have learned a lot from the gamemode, and since they cant use Windows of Opporunity, they are actually taking the time to learn each map without the training wheels being on. The addition of being able to check and see what you perks do in the ESC menu has also been really helpful to them since they can just read things at their own pace.
And even for those not learning, the random variety just spices up the gameplay enough to be interesting. It's one of the few gamemodes that BHVR has made where I actually feel like it can properly cater to new and veteran players.
-
My unpopular opinion is that the game has a lot of ways of playing and counterplaying and most of the time people just complain about things since they cant accept that they played poorly or the other side played better than they did.
We see a lot of people pushing for "techs" to be removed, and instead of encouraging skill expression, people want them removed since they see it as a blanket excuse for why they lost a game. This applies for both sides, Survivor and Killer.
Also overall it makes the game more boring. I dont want to be forced to play each tile the exact same way and anytime we get an interesting tech for either side that allows for more interesting ways to approach a situation, it gets removed or nerfed. I feels very anti-fun.

@bjorksnas said:
randomizing survivors does nothing other than giving free items, randomizing killer is just asking to lose
Randomizing Survivors and their cosmetics DOES matter more than you think. A Survivor could get a cosmetic that makes them shine across the map like a lightbulb, or they could get a loud Survivor that is inherently easier to track in chase. I think you are far too dismissive of the impact it would have.
Random Items can sometimes result in not getting an item at all. There is no guarantee that Survivors are going to constantly get the best in slot items, they could get a Flashlight, or a Brown Toolbox, Or a Firecracker.
I enjoy Killer and Survivor in Chaos Shuffle, I really dont care if it seems like it gives one side an advantage, the gamemode is inherently made for fun anyways, I dont take my matches seriously and winning is not something I care about in Chaos Shuffle since it's not a serious gamemode.
Variety is the spice of life and Id love to have more variety for both roles.

random killer shouldnt be a thing. imagine getting nurse without any knowledge. it wouldnt be fun and punishing. but rest i can agree.
Survivors can get No Mither with no perks that benefit them. That's the thing about RNG, it can screw over anyone on both sides.
I suck at Nurse, and I still wouldnt be opposed to this since it feels fair, RNG just takes the wheel.
-
From my experience, Controller is much better with tight turning if you know what you are doing, since K&M relies on swapping from Mouse to Q + E for consist turning which can feel clunky for a lot of people. Controller is also just much easier for Drifting.
At the same time, K&M can do a lot of flicks and mindgaming that Controller cannot easily do, which means it can be better for getting downs, but requires more technical skill to pull off.
Ultimately, it just depends on what you want to get out of Billy's power, if you want the high octane experience, K&M is better, if you want an easy to pick up and play experience, Controller is better.
-
Im buying the Chapter regardless since I just like DnD.
-
Ideally none tbh.
But if I were forced to pick, probably HUX, since at least I can hear funny voicelines every now and then.
-
Im just hoping that we get an Anniversary skin for Demogorgon. I know it will probably never happen.
Id love to imagine that the Entity just tried to strap a bunch of junk onto Demogorgon and Demo just like ate half off it off and whatever somehow stuck to him is just covered in bite marks. Past a certain point the Entity just gave up trying to put stuff on Demo since Demo just kept removing everything that was put on them.
Either that or Blighted Demo. It's long overdue. :(
-
I like the icon for Dark Devotion, it looks like a heart trapped in a cage, even though that's not what it is technically suppose to be.
Dark Devotion's actual icon is meant to be the Terror Radius (heart) trapped within Plague's incense burner (formed by decorative sections and Entity tendrils to indicate that it is an Obsession perk to create the incense burner). I like the details on it.
Also I like the perk.
It's effect is honestly more of a meme, but the perk synergies is why I love it, you can do a lot with it and it's honestly a lot of fun. I know that it isnt a "meta" perk, but I love it, it will always have a special place in my heart.
-
11. I also got reported because I didnt bring a flash light when everyone else brought a flashlight (Seriously BHVR needs to do something about these false reports)
BHVR already filters out false reports. If someone has a history of heavily reporting with basically no evidence or for reasons that do not break the game's TOS, their reports will be automatically filtered from the rest.
Basically Serial Reporters have their reports mean nothing since they are effectively sent to the Shadow Realm.
Also the reason why reports in general take awhile for any action to be taken it a lot of manual reviewing happens. Very rarely does BHVR give out automated bans (outside of DC penalties).
-
It depends.
From my experience on Console, Survivor was not that bad on Controller, it felt really smooth and the 360 movement lets you hug loops really tight.
The main issue was playing Killer on Controller since it felt really clunky and not as fun. I wish we have more Sensitivity options, such as Linear vs Exponential, or having custom Sensitivity settings for using a Killer power.
-
You can do this, it requires Obsession perks that change the Obsession to a different player (Nemesis, Game Afoot, Friends Til The End, etc.).

I remember when Tru3 had his viewers up in arms over Blood Rush of all perks. I love watching content creators stream but I definitely take alot of what they say with a healthy dose of skeptism lol most of the time I'm pretty sure they do it just to make a clickbait video
Blood Rush's effect isnt bad, the issue is the requirements to proc its effect.
Part of me wishes that it got the Plot Twist treatment where it can be used anytime but has a limited amount of uses based on the game state, or maybe making the requirements easier to proc since the healthy requirement does literally nothing if you are actually being tunneled off the hook.

once cross progression for consoles is actually active then yeah. It’s been confirmed that it will come for all platforms (except mobile as that’s a completely different progression system), probably later this summer.
Cross progression would merge all progresses from both accounts, so nothing in your characters inventory’s will be deleted, highest prestige/level will stay, tome progress from the furthest account, shards will be shared.
Exception would be platform exclusive stuff (eg that Trapper mask on Switch) and auric cells that you bought from the platforms store directly. Auric cells from the rift on the other hand would be shared if I understood correctly. There might be some exceptions with DLCs bought in the platform stores but that’s not been explained yet.
Btw you can’t transfer your progress from one account to another, you can only merge existing accounts, the progress will always stay on the account you actually made it on but it can be shared with other accounts.
DLCs does not really matter to me since I have already spent the money (unfortunately) to get the DLC again. My main concern is just getting the Prestige and cosmetics I had before, the actual progress I made, in other words; also how would this work with the Legacy (Scratchmark) Portraits?
Also with the Rift Auric Cells, if I bought Auric Cells and then buy the Rift to get the cosmetics and Auric Cells back, Id assume that the Auric Cells I get back are technically "Rift Auric Cells", or is it processed differently since I know there was the Twitch Prime promotion for free Rift Passes awhile back.

This was also the case for the Oni weapon from a few rifts ago, was also reported and kept the same sadly. Hope they end up fixing this eventually.
It was Slaughter Blade (Deep Rift) looking the same as the normal Slaughter Blade.
I have filed a bug report and it was acknowledged as "not a bug", keep in mind it came out after BHVR made a post a their Official Twitter account for DBD stating that they would "try to make the Deep Rift cosmetics stand out more compared to their normal counterparts."
I wish they would fix this though.
-
I used it before it got buffed from 20% to 30% (current progress), and I can confidently say that it's not a bad perk.
I think when it originally got nerfed from 25% total to 20% current, people were initially not very receptive of the change but after using it a lot after the original nerf it wasnt that bad.
None of this is even going into perk synergies (Call of Brine, Overcharge, Surveillance, etc.), which Pop Goes already had going for it across all versions.
So yea, TLDR; it will still be good, I think people are overblowing the whole thing by saying "Pop Goes is now a dead perk".
-
@Brightened said:
I feel like I am consistently getting the same perks. With as many exist, is this normal? Did they only include certain ones?
If you want a more technical explanation, RNG is often not truly "random", there are many types of RNG algorithms which rely on using "RNG seeds" to determine the likelihood of something occurring or outright having definite results.
I dont know why kind of RNG is used by Chaos Shuffle, so I cant really speak too much on it outside of that.

I feel like this perk is going to be way better than people think it is.
Depending on the loop and if the Killer mindgames, it could be a good perk to run if the loop has a weird or unsafe checkspot.

I will never understand this mentality of wanting stuff that others should not get a chance to get later on..
What would you even get out of that? People asking you where you got it and you can answer 'sucks to be you as you cant get it!'? Thats kinda awful
People want to feel special and different, the issue is that doing so removes the potential for others to actively enjoy something.
E.g. I really want the Marine Guardian set for Nea because I like the way the shirt looks, but said set just hasnt returned for literal years now. When asking around about it, a lot of people were really defensive about it returning since "it removes what was special about it" since people care more about the individuality of something being rare as opposed to something actually looking nice.
If you look at other games, this can also be seen…
Way back in the early days of Fortnite, a skin called "Recon Expert" became really eye catching for players since it was incredibly rare. The skin was ugly, and sold so poorly that it never showed up in the item shop as a result. Epic Games saw the hype around the skin's rarity and re-released it. People bought into it because "the rare skin is back" and now the skin is literally never talked about or used, since people only cared about the rarity, and now that the rarity is gone, there was no reason to care for it.
In TF2, some items can be obtained through loot crates that have special properties too them. Rather it be intended, or glitches, some things have a finite property to them where only a limited amount of them exist. Some people have permanently deleted these items from their accounts for charity, but it has resulted in those people being harassed constantly on Steam for doing it because they got rid of rare items that people feel entitled to the potential of owning it, even if they do not actively own it, the idea of them being able to potentially have it gives them the "justification" to harass someone.
My point is, people care more about the prospect of things being rare, finite, or providing some level of exclusivity or individuality.
I wish this wasnt a thing though, not much I can really do about it.

@FrenchBagels said:
See, when Blight got his hug tech nuked, they rightfully removed it because it denied the main counterplay around most loops since a good Blight could completely move around a mid/long loop and ignore it.
Meanwhile, Oni still has the funny 180 flick that should’ve died at PTB eons ago and he’s in insta down mode for the majority of it while he’s snowballing. Tight Corners and bends were supposed to help against him. Not outright deny his power but help. With the flick, he literally has no blind spot. It’s as oppressive as old Top Knot.
Plus the poor console peepos can’t do it and even they could hug tech with Blight. Why is Oni’s funny flick still here when all you do is look up.
This is what I was worried about when Blight was getting his Hug Tech removed, people would use it as a justification to remove other techs. I really hate to see it since it ultimately dumbs down the game and removes a massive skill gap for both sides (play and counterplay).
Also, as a former Console player, I dont see the point in using Console as a justification to nerf things. PC can do some really cool things, so why not give Console players the tools to also do those cools things as well? It just seems really shallow to nerf PC instead of trying to make Console better to play on.

So buying the Rift Pass is for outfit exclusivity for only a few months, but if you missed an outfit or charm because you didn't type in a weird code within a 2 day time period that is an exclusive outfit forever?
I don't really mind if ALL skins and outfits come to the store but to have code skins exclusive but rift skins come in the store is really weird. I can't think of one other game that places rift skins back into the store. Like all that grinding 2 years ago was for nothing.
Cool I'm not buying your rift anymore if there is no exclusivity.
THE DEEP RIFT EXISTS FOR A REASON.
The Deep Rift stuff was specifically said by BHVR to NOT come back to the store. This creates a system where players who WANT exclusivity can get the Deep Rift reskins, and the players who are against FOMO can just opt into getting the normal ones from the shop or Rift normally.
This system was specifically created to cater to both crowds without being too overbearing on a particular crowd.

- Modifier: Chaos shuffle ... Among the various useless perks I have Scavenger.
- I had never used this perk actively (I don't like "gen perks"), I think I only used it for the Gabriel adept. Seeing this perk I activate to make it "work" just for fun... but then I discover that I have a strange debuff and the red bar in my "generator work". I think about some of the killer's perks and continue my game. At the end of the game, intrigued by this perk, I read the perk description and discover this
- "Recharging a Toolbox will reduce your Repair speed by -50 % for the next 40/35/30 seconds".
- I don't understand what the point of this perk is... give the toolbox to a teammate and do something else? why am I punished for activating my perk? Am I punished to avoid genrush? but if Devs want to discourage genrush....why make a perk for genrush? should I use the toolbox to sabotage?
- And as a final thought....if Build to last exists....why should I use Scavenger? Scavenger requires 5 perfect skill checks, so it's not even that easy to activate 🤣 This perk (for me) is a mystery
It's meant to promote a different kind of playstyle. Basically, you do Generators quickly for a bit, then it forces you off the Generator, you go and heal teammates or take chase, then go do Generators again with the toolbox from before.
It's not a bad perk, but it is a bit gimmicky.

Thats more what i was thinking. Hag has a very clear counter: crouch and wipe the trap. This was the devs intended to be the "counter" of Hag. My issue with "S Tech" is that its make possible remove a Hag trap spending less than a second, with minimal risk invoveld in case Hag is not using the less trigger range addon. To me, even playing as survivor against the Hag, her counter should rely more on survivors being smart and destroying her setup WIPING the traps than using this tech to clear her traps. Anyway, if she already has a clear and easy counter - crouch and wipe - why should another easier counter exist?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3726367#Comment_3726367
But i understand that even without "S Tech" there can be skill expression in part of survivors when they are smart and coordinate to wipe Hag traps when needed. To me "S Tech" feels more like an exploit of a poor mechanic - no offense intented - than a smart counter to a killer power, as the devs planned.
This is a thorny topic, but if "skill expression" should be in the game, they also should leave the Blight Hugtech - it was not intended by the devs, but a good use of Hugtech + bump logic made some Blight players godlike.
But if "Skill Expression" should be in the game, they should leave the Blight Hugtech
Yes, they should have. If you check the discussions I have made, youd know that I heavily defended the Hug-tech.
I said "for both sides" for a reason. Im not hypocritical here.

I have fun in SoloQ, that being said, it would be disingenuous for me to ignore the pitfalls and issues of SoloQ. SoloQ needs a lot of help, I think Kindred basekit would be a fine addition, maybe even a "Call-Out Wheel" like DBD Mobile has.
-
@MaddieMage said:
So you’re mad that higher skilled survivors have a faster way to counter her traps instead of the time consuming crouch and wipe one?
Agreed.
I actually like going against Hag, but I think skill expression is important to DBD since it prevents the game from being boring, removing skill expression from either side is generally a bad idea (imo). Stuff like this should stay in the game.

I wouldn't mind if they gave Inner Strength the Overzealous/Clairvoyance treatment by making it activate on blessing as well.
Then you could maybe increase the healing time to like 12 seconds since you could then use it as much as you want which will make Inner Strength quite popular.
Shattered Hope will then also see some more use again, (besides the fact that it needs a rework or buff anyways.) as people will combine Inner Strength with a Boon of choice.
That actually is a pretty good idea.
