I get the exact same match making. The second I hit green ranks, it's 1-3 red rank survivors in every game. I guess there just aren't enough red rank killers for the overflow, so they get shunted from platinum to silver.
I'm a purple survivor and I get all the red rank killers, at first I thought there were not enough killers out there, then I found out the lower-ranked killers were being matched to the high ranked survivor. The matchmaking is just.... meh.
-
Yes, it's necessary.
It sucks when you are DC'd due to server issues, Steam maintenance, or problems with the game in general. But it's a risk everyone takes in order to try to discourage the compulsive DCers that leave the match as soon as things don't look well for them.
-
He's probably only seen me playing Blight
And I don't have Spirit yet, but I bet you I can make her look like an F tier Killer

and that right there is your problem.
Nah, I'm a purple/green solo Q and I get sweaty red ranks too, matchmaking doesn't really care where you are, if there's a free spot for a game you're in lol

There's no mind game in switching your character last second
Actually, yes. It fits perfectly with the definition of a mind game, it's a deliberate action to psychologically affect the other side in order to take advantage.
-
I'm not following, does the EGC activates or are exit gates still closed (in order to regress progress)? Both can't happen at the same time.
To be fair, I like it as it is now. If I HAD to change something about it I'd make it BW activated after someone's been hooked AND someone else's at the exit gate (if doors are open but everyone's running around the hook going for the save it doesn't help much).
-
I had this problem some minutes ago, any solution yet?

Couldn't care less about keys when they've broken so many other things that take precent over that. Yes, I'm a survivor, but I'd love to see keys go. They ######### me over far more than they ever help me. But I'd also like to be able to play the game on console without the game freezing constantly.
I can't remember the last time I opened a hatch with a key, however, it was only yesterday a teammate tried to leave me to bleed on the ground while camping hatch (I crawled all the way there just so the killer saw it when he tried to kill me) and the day before yesterday I spectated a Nea running around the map with a key in hand looking for the hatch while the other player remaining was trying to do gens and eventually got killed (sadly the Nea escaped). So yeah, I wouldn't mind a rework, but I'm not sure if it's possible due to the Steam achievements.

I had a match just now with 3 “teammates” who were screwing around with the killer and died early.
I know this is kind of off topic but I feel like it’s wrong when survivors don’t play the game the way they’re supposed too it’s one of the big things that makes solo queue a nightmare. Sorry I got frustrated.
Did you report them? I think that's the first step. I really wish every report got studied but I don't think it's humanly possible, there are probably hundreds of reports sent each day. I agree with OP that some of the toxicity has nothing to do with BHVR. Every online game can be toxic because there are many toxic people out there. And most of the things that the community sees as toxic come from in-game mechanics or tools, so they can't be reported. Clicking flashlights, t-bagging, hitting people on hook, etc can all be annoying but there's nothing they can do about it.
-
She's one of the slowest killers, her secondary action needs reloading, her humming gives her away so stealth is not an option with her and aiming is not necessarily easy for non-FPS players, also most people that go against her know that dropping pallets is useless, I don't see how there's "no downside" to her power really.

If I had 1 bloodpoint for every thread like that, I'd have every character P3 lvl 50 by now... even without playing a single match 😂

How would they implement this though? There's no way the game can tell if someone's chatting through Discord or whatever.
This.
Also, SWF teams aren't toxic per se.

I should’ve mentioned that I’m rank 1…
Okay, I thought you meant rank 8s vs rank 10s lol
-
@legacycolt said:
Yes, because I’m tired of playing with rank 8 survivors against a rank 10 killer.
I can’t wait for SBMM asap!
Rank 8 vs rank 10 sounds wonderful honestly :/
Wait until you get matches with rank 8 or 10 v rank 1... 5 min games, 6k BPs, and back to the queue 😫
-
Constantly going against red rank killers in matches that last less than 5 minutes

What will happen to the teachable perks?
For players who do not own Steve, Nancy and the Demogorgon, Stranger Things perks will appear as generic Dead by Daylight perks starting on November 17th. The newly generic perks will be earnable for all players through leveling up
-
What about achievements?
You don’t lose your progress on the characters that you already own. The Achievements will be made generic (so not specific to Stranger Things), and if you already had completed the achievement, the achievement will be automatically unlocked for you.

It was optional until i set out to do it. Being a completionist i can't quit prestiging now sadly
I feel your pain. And I only started playing last year. I still have so many DLCs to buy :'(
Only 3 survivors and 2 killers P3 50, and I still need all the perks from those I don't have yet
-
Yep, welcome to the club. I wanted to keep track of this kind of awful matches after the test ended but I gave up after the 20th game with red rank killers.
-
A little crosshair for ranged killers pleaseeee
-
I actually like mori animations. As long as the match was fun or fair (either), I don't mind any of the options tbh
-
Now I'm confused, isn't "body-blocking" one of the bannable offenses? I'm pretty sure it's under one of the categories from the report screen
-
@Alice_pbg said:
people calling them broken add-ons... have you played with them? they aren't. specially the tombstone, it's literally bad.
also, it's very easy to tell who is going for the achievement, because they play very "uniquely".
and no one is telling the survivor to not try to survive, just to not keep hiding in a locker when you have no chance of survival just to spite the killer
I'm about 650 hours into the game, I played Myers only a couple of times and I learned about this achievement thanks to this thread. I have no idea if I even encountered a Myers trying to go for it, I couldn't have guessed lol

I'm sorry but this post reminded me of this photo lol

Make your chose does that already no?
Yes! I had to google it because I don't have the Pig yet :P
But it's a similar idea, only instead of being a "punishment" from the killer, it's more like self-sacrifice from the rescuer.

I’m really just brainstorming for the most part, and I was hoping someone could add their own opinion to build upon this topic. As opposed to being all condescending about a situation like most people. People like that wouldn’t be happy even if the devs solved all the problems. They’d find something else to gripe about. Lol
Yeah I was trying to add some things to try to make it a little more balanced (even though it's difficult to balance anything in this game lol). That's why I was thinking about that Exposed effect for the rescuer, it works as compensation for the safety of the unhooked. An easier target for the killer that would be putting themselves at this risk by going for their teammate.
-
Mmmkay, let me try to think of something (mostly survivor-sided probably, so I'd like to hear killers' opinions on whether something like that would work).
---------------------------------
This perk should activate after being unhooked and not under any other circumstance (chases are not tunneling).
The one that goes for the save must have this perk equipped for it to work (it's not a self-defense perk).
For the rescuer, there would be a 3-second "sprint burst" and the exposed status for 30 seconds, and for the unhooked:
Instead of a 14% boost, you'd have a similar effect to Borrowed Time that will deactivate as soon as:
- You are out of the chase (encouraging killers not to attempt the chase)
- You perform any action to make the game progress (healing, gens, totems, chests, clicky clicky flashlights, any kind of interaction)
This perk does not activate if the EGC has already started.
Collision does not work while inside the terror radius of the killer for the first 5 seconds (no bodyblocking).

I usually end up putting one star when i get camped and tunneled by some braindead killer or trolled by a swf death squad.
I put 5 stars when i have fun which doesn't always equate to an escape or getting kills.
I rarely put anything in between. This game is so polarized.
And i doubt it does anything.
Same here, it's either "not fun at all" or "i liked this match". I feel like something in between makes no sense if not accompanied by a short explanation. Is like "I kinda liked this match" Okay... but why? what did you like? what didn't you like? why was it partially enjoyable...

I watched Almo's stream one time and he responded to a chat message with this question and if i remember correctly, they use that information and look at what killer/perks were used and look at all that data as a whole to see what's fun and what's not. So, i think it's pretty important so i try to fill it out every match.
Interesting. I usually don't rate my matches as unfun based on killers or perks, it's mostly about playstyles or game conditions. I don't mind going against strong killers, but being matched to a killer that's several ranks/hours above or below me is quite not fun at all. The same with the way people play, I don't mind tunneling as a strategy or rushing gens for survivors, but things like unnecessary slugging or key-users camping hatch while the rest of the team dies are just so boring. That's why I was thinking maybe a short feedback could be more useful than just the 1-5 points.

I feel like most of the people who claim they had a positive experience during the recent test only feel that way because as survivor they had killers who were good enough to get the easy hits/hooks but not good enough to 4K slug them at 4-3 gens left & as Killer they probably enjoyed getting more frequent inexperienced survivors that fall for easy tricks like moonwalking every single time.
Im not trying to insult anybody because I don’t have the highest MMR in the world myself, I just feel more people are saying it’s a good system solely because their matches were easier aka “more fun” rather than because they really believe the system is healthier for the game and better compliments the emblem system. Of course it’s a positive experience when you’re playing with your usual rank 1-3 buddies with 1k+ hours each going against a rank 11 huntress that doesn’t have the perks they want/needs yet. “But that’s how the current system works too” - Exactly, thats why I don’t get the hype for these recent testing periods. On paper it sounds like a great idea, but the way the emblem system currently works and the lack of context for a binary system like sbmm doesn’t work in an unbalanced game that largely relies on RNG
It was great for me as a solo Q survivor because I got matched to similar survivors and a killer at our level, the matches felt like they could go to either side and it was fun. Now we're back to normal and I get red rank killers that will just destroy everyone in under 10 min
-
Nope, it's still on. I forgot about Steam maintenance earlier today and was DC'd out of a match, all my sweet BPs I'll never see again </3
I had the default 3-min penalty, which was actually 1:30 min with the time Steam took to be back up lol

It's not neccesarily about going against people your level. It's the fact that if it constantly pairs you with 4 people say 4-5k hours each that know how to run maps. The MAPS, the gen speeds, the strength of splitting up. It doesn't lend itself a very pleasurable experience for the killer. Because at the highest level of play. This game is so unbalanced it's gross.
I understand what you mean, and it's the exact same thing that's happening right now with the current system. I, as a purple rank (now green) survivor, get paired with red rank killers that have 3-4k hours. I'm not even close to 1k lol
The struggle is the same with any system because the game is not completely balanced, what changes in most cases is which portion of the player base it affects.

Idk man, the game isnt just killers, solo q also exists
For me, it's not a thing of being Killer or Solo Q, or whatever. What I see is that many people don't want to go against people at their level, it's better to go against weaker rivals to secure/earn pips and stay at a certain rank. It makes total sense to me that in order to be at the top you have to face strong opposition, otherwise it's just stomping noobs (as someone said before).

as killer easier, way less good survivors, as survivor miserable solo q experience wich was the reason why i quite solo q and play only with my friends.
Just finished this match. It was the 9th red rank killer today, in order I faced:
- A rank 4 Spirit
- A rank 3 Ghostface
- A rank 2 Legion
- A rank 3 Legion
- A rank 3 Nemesis
- A rank 4 Nemesis
- A rank 4 Huntress
- A rank 4 Blight
- A rank 1 Clown
Update;
10) A rank 4 Leatherface
------------------------------------------------
My rank dropped from 7 to 9 and honestly, I can't wait to go lower to the yellow ranks if it means avoiding these killers.
I can totally see why some red ranks prefer this system, of course, it's easy to never leave the top ranks when you keep winning against weaker players. The moment the tables turn and you are the one who has to sweat to have a chance and are at a disadvantage it stops being "fun" anymore.

I'll buy the characters lol
I was unsure which DLC I should buy next but I guess they made it easier for me to choose
I don't know about the cosmetics, I'll have to check the store to see what they have

I'm not toxic or at least I don't think I am.
I generally try my best to not be toxic or annoying to other players.
Can you at least not imply that all survivors are toxic?
Sadly, the "us vs. them" posts are quite frequent here. As if all those toxic survivors never played killer or vice versa.
"Survivors" are players. "Killers" are players. And toxic players will be toxic, no matter what role they play.
I've had SWF mock my rank 16 potato Huntress, and I've also had SWF help me make a couple of extra BPs with my baby Trapper with tier 1 perks.
I also faced killers that would slug a team and walk around us nodding until we died and other killers that would farm with us when someone ragequitted.
If we only focus on the negative side of the player base we're missing out on the majority of people that play just to have fun.

Ehhh I hate to be that guy but i gotta be sadly this would make Hacking even more of an issue people would make an alt hack it take all the BPS and transfer them to their main which would be free of ban because Behavior can't prove it's the same person see the issue here?
Also, veterans could gift millions of BPs to their friends (new players), making new rank 20s have tier 3 perks go against other newbies that are starting from scratch. I'd rather have some kind of conversion system, say you could change 500.000 BPs into 1.000 shards.

Will I be able to stream /play with Stranger Things characters?
Stranger Things content downloaded before November 17th at 2 PM EST, with the exception of the Map, will remain available for players, streamers and influencers alike. So, we invite the Stranger Things fans who have yet to get the chapter to purchase it before that date in order to secure access to it and enjoy the series’ content.
